[China] "I Remember You Explained the Goodness of Falun Gong to Me"
A lady practitioner often goes away on business trips. When returning home, she takes a tricycle from the bus station to her house. (In China rural areas, people use manually driven tricycles as a taxi, by translator.) Every time she hires a tricycle, she will talk about the truth regarding Dafa to the the driver. In this way, she is saving their lives.
Once as she was getting off the bus, she waved her hand and a young man tricycle driver pulled over to get her. She recognized him since she had ridden in his tricycle before and told him many truths about Dafa. She decided to test him to see if he remembered the truth that she had explained. "Do you remember me?" she asked. The young tricycle driver said, "Yes, I remember you. You explained the goodness of Falun Gong to me the entire way." The practitioner asked him, "What are the main points I wanted you to remember?" The young man replied, "Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance." Both of them smiled.
[Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Director of Datong Detention Center Said Government Policy Will Not Hold Them Responsible for Murdering Practitioners
Practitioner Zhu Hongbing of Daqing No. 7 Oil Factory was detained because policemen found a Dafa banner in his home. After July 22, 1999, Zhu had been to Beijing many times to appeal for Falun Dafa and was illegally detained and arrested many times. For having the banner, he was illegally detained again. To protest the detention, he has been on a hunger strike for over 20 days. His life is now in critical condition. Zhu's elder sister had him sent to a hospital on several occasions and has many times appealed to have him released. Under this condition, the Datong Police Department, Police Substation of No. 7 Factory has allowed him to receive medical treatment at home, but they requested that the work unit pick him up afterwards (so the work unit will be responsible if Zhu goes to Beijing again, by translator). Otherwise, the detention center promised not to release him even if he was about to die. The Director of Datong Detention Center also told Zhu's sister, "Now we have a document saying that if practitioners die, they are treated as having deserved death. My position will still be secure."
The local police station agreed to pick him up from the detention center. However the General Secretary of the No. 7 Factory refused to have this done and said that he didn't care if Zhu died.
[Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Yongjun Police Substation of Daqing Oil Factory No. Three Abducts a Practitioner
From a reliable source, we have heard about the experiences of practitioner Li Shuzhen. Li Shuzhen is a worker of Daqing No. 3 Oil Factory. She went to Beijing to appeal and wisely walked out of the evil den. She has had to wander about for a while. Her husband, Xu Fengli, found her and took her to the police station. He even beat her up in front of the policemen until she lost consciousness. The policemen watched his crime but said nothing. After Li regained consciousness, the police illegally detained her at the Sa District Detention Center. Two months later, Li Shuzhen was released because of her poor health condition.
When she returned to her house, she found that her husband had already divorced her and occupied all family possessions. She found out that he had lied to the court, saying she was missing. He even changed her salary card password so that only he could take her salary from the bank account.
Recently, Li Shuzhen went to Yongjun Police Substation of the No. 3 Oil Factory to request that they return the money and possessions taken by police during her detention. The Police Substation arrested her again and escorted her to a detention center. They said that they would send her to a forced labor camp.
We call on all the kind people of the world to be aware of and help those illegally detained practitioners and try your best to have them released as soon as possible.
Another practitioner Jin Bowen, female about 60 years old, was released in June 2001 from Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp. On December 20 2001, she went back to the labor camp to visit the police guards and clarified the truth of Dafa to them. But one month passed, she hasn't returned yet. Kind people please be aware this matter.
[Jilin Province] Jilin Provincial Medicine Research Institute Abducts Practitioners and sends them to Brainwashing Class
In the morning of January 22, 2002, the authorities of Jilin Provincial Medicine Research Institute abducted researcher Piao Riyang and Wang Jing, husband and wife working together. They were both sent to a brainwashing class organized by the Jilin province government. The couple has one teenage girl at home that has been left without anyone to care for her.
Since July 20, 1999, the Jilin Provincial Medicine Research Institute has dismissed three practitioners because of their belief in Falun Dafa. They are Yu Lihong, Li Rong, and Chen Yichun.

[Beijing] Female Dafa Practitioner Zhang Yijie from Foreign Commerce and Trade Ministry Is Brutally Tortured in Tiantanghe Forced Labor Camp
According to Falun Dafa practitioners in Beijing, female practitioner Zhang Yijie from the Ministry of Foreign Commerce and Trade is being held at the Tiantanghe Forced Labor Camp in Daxing, Beijing. She has endured various tortures, and dark bruises cover much of her face and body. Her coat has been scribbled on with slogans that defame Falun Dafa. She has also suffered numerous mental tortures. Practitioners have also reported that the labor camp uses many other methods of torture including deprivation of sleep for several days in a row; followed with non-stop day and night military drills as physical punishment; and exposure to chilling winds at freezing temperatures. For meals, practitioners are often not given any vegetables, and even buns are rarely ever provided.
The brainwashing in Tiantanghe is exceedingly violent. One practitioner who was firm in maintaining his belief in Dafa was beaten with electric batons in a prison office and then deprived of sleep for several consecutive nights. They also utilized other torture methods such as "facing the wall in solitude" and "riding the airplane" in order to force this practitioner to give up his belief in Dafa.
We call on people in China and people overseas to be aware of the brutalities committed in the Tiantanghe Forced Labor Camp in Beijing.
[City of Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners in Xindu County Abducted
On December 20, 2001, a large-scale persecution campaign was launched against Falun Dafa practitioners in Xindu County in the city of Chengdu in Sichuan Province. Police officers, private security staff, and neighborhood watch guards were employed to arrest Dafa practitioners without following any legal procedures. Some used the ploy of examining practitioners' identity cards in order to confiscate them. Some took practitioners away by claiming the practitioners were wanted for questioning. Others lied by saying that practitioners were needed to attend a meeting. Some simply went directly to practitioners' homes to abduct them.
When the practitioners solemnly pointed out that those acts were a gross violation of the law and an infringement upon human rights, the officers completely ignored that and forcibly abducted them into their police vehicles. The police locked up over forty male and female practitioners into a single little shack in Nibatuo, Xindu County. They intended to hold a brainwashing class. The practitioners had to do everything from eating to sleeping in this tiny shack. The guards kept a continuous watch on the practitioners to prevent them from studying the Fa or practicing the exercises. Anyone who was caught practicing the exercises would be brutally beaten.
Besides using various measures to wear down practitioners' determination, the police also forced them to pay exorbitant living expenses. This unjustified persecution has caused much discontent with the local public.
[City of Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Evil Acts at the Xindu County Detention Center
After Falun Dafa practitioners were abducted and taken to the Xindu County Detention Center, they were subjected to many methods of torture. These methods included being exposed to the scorching sun, being handcuffed and shackled, being forced to sleep on the "Dead Person's Bed". In the Dead Person's Bed torture the practitioner's extremities are stretched out and tied to the four posts of an icy-cold metal bed. The practitioner cannot move at all. Neither are they allowed to get up to eat, drink or even to go to the toilet. This treatment would last anywhere from several hours to longer than two weeks. This cruel method of torture causes severe physical injury to the practitioner and extreme mental turmoil. In addition to this practitioners were force fed, brutally beaten and interrogated under torture. The thugs that run the detention center also levy fines on practitioners that range from several hundred yuan to over 10,000 yuan (the average monthly salary in metropolitan areas is around 500 yuan). As of January 2002, several practitioners, including Zhang Yueqiong, Luo Changyong, Wang Jisheng and others are still detained illegally . In the latter half of December 2001, through using various means of deceit, the police have sent over forty practitioners to a brainwashing center for further persecution in Nibatuo, Xindu County.
