Prime Minister
House of Commons
Ottawa, ON K1A 0A6
Dear Mr. Prime Minister,
I write today to urge you to take action in regards to human rights in the People's Republic of China.
Canada must take an active role in ensuring that countries which do not respect human rights are held responsible for their actions. Therefore I believe that the government should:
-- Condemn the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
-- Protest the maltreatment of Canadian practitioners who have attempted to peacefully demonstrate in China.
-- Call on the federal government to independently initiate a UN resolution condemning Chinese human rights abuses, at the United Nations Human Rights Commission meeting in the coming months.
The gross violation of human rights in China is not an issue that we can ignore. I look forward to your prompt attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Rob Anders, MP
