Yong Chunhong, male, was illegally arrested in October 2001 in Woyong County. He went on a hunger strike for ten days and was sent to Yangguang Hospital. With righteous thoughts, he walked out of the hospital despite the tight surveillance. After he walked about 4 miles, he found the police chasing him, so he hid in a pile of firewood. The police could not find him and started to set the firewood on fire. The firewood became a sea of fire. The police thought that Yong must be dead and were afraid that the villagers would see what they had done, so they left. Yong miraculous jumped out of the fire and went to Jiaocheng District of Buozhou City. The police arrested him later and illegally detained him in Qiqiao Detention Center. He is to be sent to a labor camp.

A Xinhua Bookstore was selling books that slandered Falun Dafa and contained pictures insulting Teacher Li. These would poison the innocent people if left alone. Knowing this, a Falun Dafa practitioner decided to go there to eliminate the evil.

This practitioner asked his wife to send forth righteous thoughts at home until he came back. With strong righteous thoughts, he walked towards the bookstore. After he went in the bookstore, he first tore down the pictures slandering Teacher Li, and then he put all the Dafa-slandering books into his basket. Since this practitioner's righteous thoughts were very strong, none of people working in the store noticed what he was doing. With the protection of Teacher's benevolence and the righteous thoughts, he openly walked out of the store.

Zhu Guangzhen, female, 68 years old, is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Hefei. On January 13, 2002, she and four other practitioners went to Hefei Female Labor Camp to clarify the truth about Falun Gong, where they were arrested. With righteous thoughts and belief in Falun Dafa, Zhu was unconditionally released on January 14, 2002. The other four practitioners are still being illegally detained at the Hefei Detention Center. However, possibly because of mistakes during message delivery, her name and the names of the other four practitioners were published on Clearwisdom.Net. On January 23, Hefei City Shushang Police Station and Jinsailu Police Station together kidnapped Zhu and searched her house for 2 hours. She is currently being held at Hefei Detention Center. She has been on a hunger strike for five days. We call upon the international media to help her.

After the First Squad of Shijiazhuang Labor Camp beat Falun Dafa practitioner Wu Jianqiang of Cangzhou, Hebei Province, which resulted in him becoming handicapped, the head of the squad, Li Yong was suspended from his job. Zhang Xuemin from the Third Squad became the head of the First Squad. He immediately changed the person who was in charge of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners and started a new round of forceful brainwashing. They did not even exempt practitioner Liu Tao, already handicapped from the previous round of torture. On May 10, 2001, Liu was forced to jump from a building. Practitioners and married couple Xu Jiafeng and Cai were kidnapped by the police in Puning City and Jieyang City, and sent back to Shenzhen. The office illegally confiscated their new car worth more than 200,000 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan]. Xu went on a hunger strike for 37 days to protest the persecution. When he was near death from the torture, he was sent to Qingshuihe Police Hospital in Shenzhen to be placed on a respirator and IV. People that visited him saw that he was in a coma.

Ms. Cai is now detained at Shenzhen City Xili Shelter. They did not allow her family to visit her or send her winter clothing. The persecution has caused tremendous fear and stress to the couple's five school-age children. The police often threaten the children and force them to provide information regarding their parents.

She sent forth righteous thoughts, "They can't inject things in me." The police failed twice. The next day, the police sent her to a hospital and told her that they were going to inject glucose solution into her. She did not send righteous thought this time so they were able to inject the fluid into her body. Her whole body became weak, and she felt extremely sleepy. She later realized that there was also some problem with the water, since she felt extremely thirsty after brushing her teeth. The more she drank, the thirstier she became. After taking a shower, her body turned a bluish color and hurt all over. Her practitioner roommate also felt so much pain that she was rolling around on the floor. On the ninth day, the police released her but still followed her whenever she left home. In order to escape, she boarded a train that was going to the Northeast. On the train, she was unsteady and in dreadful pain. Her symptoms made the other passengers on the train very afraid. She realized that the police were doing experiments on her and following her to monitor the results. When the train stopped at a station, she got off just before it departed again. She finally escaped the police and came back to Anhui. Her husband saw that her face and hands were all blue and asked her what happened. She told him, "The police were doing experiments on me." We hope to expose the evil and bring attention to this matter.

In the afternoon of December 30, 2001, three practitioners from Huian City, Anhui Province passed by Zhenyan, Shou County and were detained by Zhao Shouyi and other police for no apparent reason. They are now illegally detained at Shou Detention Center.

In September 2000, Li Wanqing, Yan Jianshu, a director of the Beicheng Police Station, and another plainclothes officer illegally broke into a female practitioner's house to arrest her. She was resting in bed and did not have time to put on her clothes. She asked them to give her some privacy. However, these people refused to move, so she had to dress with everyone watching. The police then forcefully arrested her.

9. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] The Police Kidnap a Dafa Practitioner's Family Members as Hostagesá

On January 27, 19 Dafa practitioners walked out of the Anshan Detention Center. Because of this, the police at the local police substation forced one Dafa practitioner's family members to report to the local police substation at seven o'clock every morning, where they were threatened and not allowed to eat. The chief executive of the company at which the Dafa practitioner worked was also asked by the police to write a "pledge." The family members were handcuffed.

According to reliable sources, the Forced Labor Committee of Buozhou City has issued a notice that Li Ping and Fu Mingyi would not be sent to a forced labor camp. The notice said that the two Falun Dafa practitioners were taken to the prosecutor and treated as criminal cases. Only under the circumstance that they were not sentenced can they be sent to the forced labor camp.

12. [Chongqing City] Almost 40 Dafa Practitioners Are Kidnapped

On January 3, 2001, almost 40 Dafa practitioners from Chongqing City, Sichuan Province were kidnapped by the police at Xiaoquan Hotel of Banan District. It was reported that some of the practitioners were illegally sentenced and sent to forced labor camps. One or two practitioners' bank accounts were frozen. The practitioners' parents and family members thus encountered many financial problems. In addition to the practitioners' families being implicated, their jobs taken away, and they were forced to retire. Some of the practitioners are currently being held at Liziba Detention Center at Shangqing Temple of Chongqing City. The situation of the practitioners is being further investigated. The police station and 610 office of Chongqing City are directly responsible for these cases.

13. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Local Police Intensify Persecution

For almost one month, the police of Jilin Province had committed crimes against Falun Dafa practitioners. First, on December 28, 2001, they illegally sentenced quite a few Dafa practitioners who had been held in detention for a long time to five to ten years of imprisonment. In the evening of the same day, the local police departments tracked down and secretly kidnapped 35 practitioners, according to the local TV station. Among them was Dafa practitioner, Fu Chunsheng, who died on January 1, 2002 while in the custody of the police department.

After their crimes were exposed on Clearwisdom.net, human rights organizations and overseas Dafa practitioners questioned the responsible departments in Jilin City one after another by calling, faxing, and e-mailing them. The head of the police showed no sign of repentance. Instead, he instructed his subordinates to "control the Internet more closely" and told them to guard the "state secret" of the cruel persecution of Dafa practitioners so that it would not be leaked to the outside world.

It is said that the police of the Jilin Province will start another round of kidnapping soon. Also, the Jilin City 610 office posted a so-called "Decision" on all entrances to residence passageways. The sign promised that anyone who reports or arrests Dafa practitioners who post truth-clarifying materials would be given a reward of 200 to 1000 Yuan.

Between November 2001 and January 2002, Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp of Changchun forced older Dafa practitioners to carry huge bags of beans. They had to carry a bag of 100 Jin [50 kilograms] up five flights of stairs. Two old women usually carried one bag, but one firm and unyielding elderly woman, Liu Lianying, was forced to carry a bag by herself. Every day they had to work for more than 17 hours, far exceeding the limits of their physical strength.

In May 2000, the Worker's Cultural Palace of Xinxiang City showed a movie that slandered Falun Gong. On May 13, in order to validate the Fa and counter the slanderous propaganda, more than 100 Dafa practitioners went to the cultural palace to practice together. After the police arrested them, they were sent to the local detention center and police substation. Among them there were approximately 30 Dafa practitioners from Huixian City. During the detention period, the police beat the practitioners using wooden sticks and said, "If I beat you to death, I can say that you died from practicing Falun Gong." The practitioners were thus beaten black and blue. Some practitioners' legs were so badly injured that they could not walk. The police even pierced practitioners' necks and arms using needles. They pushed practitioners' heads into water until they passed out from the suffocation. The police beat practitioners, hit their faces, beat them with batons, and shocked them with electric batons. Some practitioner's lips were burned from the electrical shocks, making it impossible for them to talk or drink. The blisters on one person's face were four centimeters in diameter. The police even poured chili noodles into the practitioners' eyes. The methods they used were extremely brutal. The majority of the practitioners were fined 2,000-3,000 Yuan. Some were fined as little as a few hundred Yuan and others were fined almost 10,000 Yuan. Their family members were forced to borrow money to get the practitioners back.

In the local forced labor camp, the guards instigate prisoners to torture Dafa practitioners. These people could be the labor head in the forced labor camp, either because they have special social relationships, patrons, backstage supporters, or because they were bought with large sums of money. They do not need to work. They can enjoy more personal freedom than others in the forced labor camp and receive special treatment. It is also easy for them to avoid being penalized.

Among them is Luan Yong, 32-year-old worker at Huanxiling Oil Extraction Factory of Liaohe Oil Field. He was sentenced to one year in the forced labor camp for stealing. He routinely beats people with a wooden stick. In order to reduce his sentence, he told lies and singled out Dafa practitioners for beatings. At the same time, he used others to persecute Dafa practitioners so that he could leave the forced labor camp sooner.

Dai Yong, unemployed, is also a labor head. He was sentenced to a forced labor camp for deceiving and bullying others. In order to maintain his position, Dai Yong persecuted Dafa practitioners unscrupulously.
