I felt this has to be done now. The persecution cannot continue. That is why I am leaving the U.S. for the first time, and why I received my first passport. I am going not for myself, but for others. I know Falun Gong is good and thank Mr. Li for giving me the best thing I have ever come across in my life. If he hadn't founded Falun Gong and made it known to the public, my character, goals, and life would be in the shambles that I earlier couldn't recognize.
When I first became acquainted with Falun Gong at the end of December, 2000, in the subsequent months I wavered in my cultivation, as the temptations of the modern youth were very hard to put down. It is easy to conform to everything being done in society, and at times in those first months I wasn't sure if cultivation was right for me at this point in my life. However, I finally gave it a chance with my whole heart, and since genuinely practicing I have recognized the value of a good work ethic regardless of the status or supposed importance of the job.
After I do the exercises my body feels relaxed and much of the my body's tension is gone. I have also become less critical and more tolerant of other people. In social interactions I am less inclined to fall into negativity and instead am friendlier. Since practicing, I have tried to improve in my social interactions with others, tried to be kinder, and tried to place others first in everything I do.
In all of this I have recognized that Falun Gong should be treasured rather than persecuted.
The laws being broken aren't merely those of a government or the international community-- the very fabric is being severed that allows us to believe that civilization contains and can hold goodness and genuine nobility. How can a society be good if people condemn those who are the antithesis to causing trouble and hurting others, to committing crimes, to rebelling against the course of nature, and to doing evil? By standards modern or ancient, what is going on is wrong, and I am not one who will watch and not take action.
I also hope you can educate yourselves on this issue and recognize the obvious: that Falun Gong is good and represents the best of both modern and ancient values.
I recommend that those who condemn Falun Gong truly examine what it is they are against or else they will be making an enormous error.
Injustice and criminal behavior should not be tolerated, be it by your brother, your sister, your parents, your children, your role models, your employers, or your government.
It would be a shame if the modern people of the wondrous and unrivaled Chinese civilization and culture wallow in ignorance when it comes to this issue, when Europeans, Americans, and other nationalities can see the truth.
