[Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Hao Yunxiang Is Illegally Sentenced to Five Years of Imprisonment
On June 12, 2002, Ms. Hao Yunxiang, a 56-year-old Dafa practitioner from Jinzhou City in Liaoning Province, was arrested and put into Jinzhou City's No. 1 Detention Center, because she hung up truth-clarifying banners. On August 19, Hao Yunxiang was secretly sentenced to five years of imprisonment. On November 15, 2002, she was transferred to Liaoning Province's Female Prison for further persecution.

On November 24, 2002, policemen from Chaoyang County's Wafangzi Town Police Precinct in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province drove to the Juzigou Village Primary School to arrest Ms. Wang Lianhua, a Falun Gong practitioner. Wang Lianhua escaped. However, on November 26, when Wang Lianhua was at home, policemen illegally arrested her and then detained her at Chaoyang County's Detention Center.

On November 20, 2002, when Wang Zhuo, a Dafa practitioner from Huludao City in Liaoning Province was released from Huludao City's Forced Labor Camp, but she was not allowed to go back home and was again illegally detained over 50 more days.
[Northeast of China] Dafa Practitioners Hold an Experience Sharing Meeting in a Detention Center
After a female Dafa practitioner from a city in northeast China was illegally detained, she went on a hunger strike to resist the persecution. Her righteous thoughts shocked the evil. Though she was suffering serious persecution, she actively requested to hold an experience-sharing meeting with ten other practitioners in the prison. Finally, they conquered the evils and successfully held the meeting. Dafa practitioners' righteous thoughts and behavior and their compassion moved the prisoners. Many of them said that they would definitely learn Falun Gong in the future.
[Weifang City, Shandong Province] Dafa-Materials Production Site Destroyed
On October 28, 2002, several policemen broke into a truth-clarifying materials production site. A practitioner was forced to jump off the building from the 4th floor and lost consciousness upon hitting the ground. The practitioner was sent to the hospital. In order to shirk their responsibility, the police deceived the relatives to come to the hospital, using the excuse of a car accident and extorted 2,000 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income in urban areas of China] for the hospitalization expenses. The practitioner escaped after regaining consciousness.
The loss of the materials site was significant: a notebook and a desktop computer, one laser printer, two inkjet printers, three recorders, two cellular phones, four pagers, one hand-held computer, a bank account certificate, a full set of Dafa books, and many clothes and daily necessities were taken.
[Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Liu Yanmin During the 16th National Party Congress
During the 16th National Party Congress, Jiang's regime recklessly arrested practitioners everywhere. On November 12th, practitioner Ms. Liu Yanmin, 40 years old, from Shijiazhuang City was arrested in Beijing. After two days of hunger strike, she was sent back her hometown in Wuji County, Hebei Province. Now she is illegally detained at Wuji County's Detention Center. During the detention, in collusion with Wuji County's Police Department, officials from Shijiazhuang City's "610 Office" [An agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] often harassed Ms. Liu Yanmin's family and severely interfered with her family's life.

During the 16th National Party Congress, an employee from a work unit had to go to Beijing for personal business, and asked for leave from his manager. His manager was very nervous, hearing he wanted to go to Beijing and asked the reason. The manager also told him there was a new order from higher government echelons that whoever plans to go to Beijing had to get an approval letter from the city government; otherwise no one could grant the leave. The employee was surprised and said, "I've never heard of having to get a letter from the city government to go to Beijing for a personal matter!"
