In the middle of December 2001, Dafa practitioners Mr. Chen Jing, former assistant volunteer contact practitioner from Heifei City's Dafa practice site, Mr. Wu Li, Mr. Wang Hui and Ms. Dong Yan from Hefei City, Anhui Province were arrested when they clarified the facts of Falun Gong in Guangde County. On July 28, 2002, Chen Jing was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment, Wu Li to 5 years, Wang Hui to 4 years and Dong Yan to 3 years. They firmly rejected the illegal sentence. The judge did not even dare to declare the judgment in open court. Instead, he issued a secret document to sentence the Dafa practitioners.

Ms. Zhang Chujiao is an excellent teacher of Chaoyang City's Huali Primary School in Guangdong Province. Because she taught her students to be good persons, according to "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," some deceived parents frequently reported her to the police. She has now been arrested, about one week ago. It was heard that when a leader connected with the investigation was confronted with her students, the students asked, "Our teacher tells us to be good people according to 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.' Is this wrong?" The leader was at a loss for words.

Ms. He Caixia, about 40 years old, is the spouse of an employee of the Sanhedaoqiao Company. On the night of October 11, 2002, persons from Beijing's "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] and policemen from the Sanjianfang Police Precinct of Chaoyang District's Police Department arrested her. The lawless policemen also confiscated Dafa books from her home.

On September 21, around the time of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Dafa practitioners from Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province positioned four small loudspeakers outside of Shanxi Province's Xindian Forced Labor Camp to broadcast Teacher's new articles and programs from the World Falun Dafa Broadcasting Station to Dafa practitioners in jail. On September 25, they again used a small loudspeaker outside of Shanxi Province's Female Jail in Yuci City. What they have done effectively frightened the evils and encouraged the incarcerated practitioners. On October 1, Dafa practitioners suspended another small loudspeaker in Yingze Park, which is located in the central section of Taiyuan City, to clarify the truth to the public.

At about 3:00 a.m. on October 1, police arrested Taiyuan City's Dafa practitioners Mr. Li Guozheng and Mr. Kang Zhiguo when they were distributing truth-clarifying materials in the Xinhuanan Residential Area of Taiyuan City.

In the beginning of October, a Dafa truth clarification materials site, which was located in the Technology Institute in Taiyuan City's northern Yingxin Street, was destroyed and at least two Dafa practitioners were arrested. The losses included recording equipment, computers and thousands of disks.

On October 11, lawless policemen used the excuse of checking temporary resident certificates to ransack a Dafa truth clarification materials site. Lawless policemen of Wanbolin District in Taiyuan City arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ma. It is unknown at this time whether he is dead or alive. Four thousand truth-clarifying booklets, seven small loudspeakers, many banners, and a laser all-in-one LCDPC and some cash were taken. All in all, items valued at over 10,000 Yuan were confiscated.

Mr. Mu (pseudonym), Ms. Lian (pseudonym) and Ms. Zhao (pseudonym) are Falun Gong Practitioners in Chengdu City. On September 28, they all disappeared in the Xindu District. It was heard that lawless policemen arrested them, together with their landlords and some other Falun Gong practitioners.

Policemen from Haidian Disctrict's Police Department arrested a 68-year-old retired scientist, name unknown, from the Toponymy Research Institute of the Chinese Civil Administration Ministry. He had attended a party held by Falun Gong practitioners before the National Day. At present, he has been illegally sent to a forced labor camp.

Around October 1, the National Day, Nanjing City police officers illegally arrested many Falun Gong practitioners. The practitioners were detained separately in every district and forced to receive brainwashing in conjunction with a nation-wide effort. It is difficult to estimate how many practitioners were arrested; some estimate a hundred practitioners.

On September 26, officials from the Caidian "610 Office" in Wuhan City and local policemen went to the residential apartment of No. 3541 Factory, arrested practitioner Mr. Guo Shuiyan from home and sent him to a brainwashing class.

In 2001, practitioner Mr. Zhu Zhenxue was sent to the Hewan Forced Labor Camp for a year and half. On September 19, 2002, he was released. In collusion with policemen from the Wulitun Police Precinct, officials from Wulitun Street's "610 Office" tricked Mr. Zhu into their car at the entrance of the labor camp. They lied to Zhu's relatives that they were sending him home. Instead, they directly sent him to Hanyang District's Brainwashing Class for further persecution. [The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute powers over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems].

Harbin City's Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Heilongjang Province held brainwashing classes for practitioners who were arrested by agents from the local "610 Office." They exerted high pressure on practitioners to force them to "transform." [Giving up the practice of Falun Dafa]. Those determined practitioners were physically tortured and mentally persecuted. Policemen hung practitioners up and brutally beat them with leather belts soaked in cold water to cause maximum pain. They claimed they would reach a "100% transformation rate."

Yesterday, each Harbin City street residential committees received an order from the Harbin City government that a "Order and Stabilization Social Security Office" would be formed. Each district government will dispatch special personnel to every residential committee to persecute determined practitioners by following, tailing, and monitor the practitioners and tapping their phone calls.

According to the secret order from Jiang's regime, Harbin City has set up a "special police precinct" to persecute Falun Gong practitioners and eradicate Falun Dafa.

On the morning of July 16, police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Xiulan from Dalian City's Development Zone Hospital on her way to work. It is said that Dalian City's Police Department personnel had been collaborating with the Development Zone's Police Department to follow her secretly for over two months. After they got all the information about her, on July 16, the police intercepted the public bus and forcibly arrested her on her way to work. The police forcibly grabbed her keys from her purse and turned her home upside down when nobody was at the house. They made a mess and seized her personal belongings, including Falun Gong books. Yang Xiulan is now detained at Dalian City's Detention Center.

For a long time, lawless personnel in the Yungang District have been persecuting Falun Gong practitioners who believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Those individuals have used various means including brainwashing, monitoring, stalking and deducting s wages and salaries. In order to resist the persecution, a practitioner was forced to leave home. Some vicious people then exerted pressure on his/her family members and their work units. They also constantly harassed and threatened his family members and spent a lot of manpower and money investigating this practitioner's social relationships. They sent people to his hometown in an attempt to arrest him. This made his child unable to work normally and forced a resignation from work. The authorities seriously interfered with the practitioner and his family's normal life. Some practitioners were put into brainwashing classes. Among them, one was put into a detention center as she/he staged a hunger strike to protest the persecution. This practitioner continued the hunger strike and was force-fed. During a hospital stay because of a high fever, he was continuously tortured and was later diagnosed with pneumonia. He walked out of detention with powerful righteous thoughts after being continuously tortured for nearly 90 days.

On September 24, 2002, two plainclothes policemen arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Aiqin from the Wenjiaxiang Development Zone in Shouguang City while she was riding her tricycle carrying passengers. Her whereabouts are unknown. Her two children are of school-age. They and the 70-year-old mother/grandmother are left to care for themselves.

On September 25, 2002, over 40 policemen from Shouguang City's Police Department and Sunji Town's Precinct surrounded practitioner Ms. Sun Qiuxiang from Sunji Town, Shouguang City on the village road. They kicked and punched her and arrested her. Her whereabouts are unknown now. Her family members and relatives are anxiously looking for.

On September 9, five or six policemen forcibly arrested practitioner Mr. Huang Zhendong from the Haihua Development Zone, Weifang City on his way home. Mr. Huang is now detained at Shouguang City's Detention Center. Last year his wife was sentenced to one year of forced labor. Their daughter, in middle school, is now left alone at home.

On the morning of September 29, 2002, a group of plainclothes policemen, headed by Tao, broke into practitioner Ms. Mi Yanli's home at Xiaohexi Village, Foyedong Township. They carried Mi Yanli to a cab and sent her to Lingyuan City's Detention Center for persecution. According to witnesses, the scene was very disturbing. They didn't even allow Mi Lanli to put on her coat and shoes when they took her away. She has not yet been allowed to meet with her family members.

34-year old practitioner Ms. Wen Yaqin was a staff member of the Lingyuan Steel Factory. She was arrested in September 2001 for distributing truth-clarification materials and was sentenced to two years of forced labor. On September 25, 2002, police from the Mohudian Police Station arrested Wen while she was working. She was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp on September 28 for persecution.

On October 11, police ransacked a fairly large Dafa truth clarification materials site in Chengde City. Some materials and cash were confiscated. We do not yet have any details about the practitioners' circumstances.

Criminal actions and those responsible:

Lu Feng is the leader of the National Security Brigade of Shuangqiao District's Police Department. Lu has been committing all kinds of evil deeds. He is responsible for the arrest, issuing fines and sending to detention of most of the Falun Gong practitioners in Chengde City. By the end of September, he again led over ten hired men to Fengyingzi Town, forcibly arrested practitioner Mr. Li Tang and beat his wife Zuo Lihua. Zuo used to be paralyzed in one leg. Many miracles happened to her after she practiced Dafa.
