October 21, 2002
(Clearwisdom.net) From October 14 to October 16, 2002, the "Montreal International Forum" convened its conference entitled "2002: Global Administration - Civilized Society and Democracy," attended by approximately 600 participants. They represented non-governmental organizations from all over the world as well as the Canadian government, various media and the local government of Quebec.
Following a speech by a United Nations deputy secretary, two Falun Gong practitioners raised their hands and spoke separately. They validated the peaceful and benevolent nature of Falun Dafa and addressed the cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners at the hands of the Jiang regime, pointing out in particular that under pressure from the Jiang regime, Cambodia had repatriated Falun Gong practitioners to China, thereby seriously violating International Law. Following the presentation by Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister, Falun Gong practitioners again emphasized that "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance" are a measure and standard for judging right or wrong, and that these principles can benefit everyone in countless ways. This point of view met with approval from the attendees.
During the conference break and group discussions, several Falun Gong practitioners spoke with representatives from non-governmental organizations in Asia, Europe, North America and Africa. They introduced Falun Dafa, exposed the cruel persecution happening in China, and made it possible for many attendees to recognize that persecuting Falun Gong is not only a human rights issue, it is also a fundamental threat to mankind. Most of the attendees requested Dafa truth-clarifying materials and held dialogue with the Falun Gong practitioners. Many non-governmental organizations' representatives signed the "Call for Help" lists prepared by the practitioners and hoped to keep in touch with the practitioners. Some attendees assured us that they would take the Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials back to their own countries.
