Before the time for sending forth righteous thoughts at 7PM this Saturday, I decided that it was more important for me to be standing so people passing by would know what people were doing: Falun Gong. We were not permitted to have any posters or banners so without people handing out materials it is hard for onlookers to discern who we were. In this short ten minutes, an old man came up to me and gave me unexpected encouragement and advice.

He approached me, told me he knew that Falun Gong was a spiritual practice, and that it was being persecuted in China. Then he said "speak from your heart and tell me why you are here and what you want to tell me." I was surprised he knew so much and told him so but I wanted to try to move his heart about the persecution so I tossed out memorized facts and figures. Not surprisingly, it did not work.

Then he described for me what he saw.

"You see that energy? It covers them. And that energy is going miles and miles up and encircling the earth. It is cradling the earth as a mother holds a baby. If it were not for that energy, the earth would explode. There is so much energy that if there were a baby in Mt. Auburn Hospital (a local hospital) or even a baby in China who was dying, if everyone here focuses on that baby, it would be healed in an instant and the doctors would not understand it. The energy is so great that it can move the universe a mile this way or a mile that way easily."

He also said that, "I don't know where this movement is going but I know that energy likes beautiful things and it is beautiful here."

On a personal note, he asked me if I knew that I was supposed to be where I was. Pointing to the place my feet were he said, "You may be 40-50ft away from them but you are in the middle of it all. You are supposed to be here to explain to me and other people who can see the energy what it is about."

Upon knowing about his powers my approach changed immediately. I told him that he had to visit falundafa.org and he had to read Zhuan Falun. I offered to write down the title but he said he remembered it already.

Just before he departed he held my hand and said, "Look into my eyes, stop being an intellectual and just speak to me from the heart." And I simply looked into his eyes. We were both silent. Two seconds later, he thanked me. I know he understood what my heart was trying to tell him.
