Every morning, a group of peaceful, energetic people can be seen in front of the Toronto Chinese Consulate near Toronto University. People passing by get to know that they are Falun Dafa practitioners, judging from the banners and posters.

Since October 26 last year (the same date that Jiang Zemin's evil political gang deemed Falun Dafa an "[slanderous term omitted]"), a group of kind and respectable Falun Dafa practitioners began their appeal by practicing Falun Dafa exercises everyday in front of the Chinese Consulate, regardless of wind or rain.

Last winter had great snowfalls. Usually, it takes one of the practitioners an hour and a half to drive to the consulate. On a day of inclement weather, however, it took her four hours. When she arrived at the Consulate, the group practice had come to an end; she spent another fours hours driving back. But that didn't shake a bit of her determination to go to the Chinese Consulate every day because she knew what really mattered was the process instead of the result.

This spring, it rained more often than in past years. Sometimes it rained so heavily that some practitioners were totally soaked. Firm determination in needed to practice in the rain. The heavier the snow or rain is, the stronger the wind is, the more practitioners would join the group practice, and the more harmonious their hearts would be. Once, a practitioner, who was distributing newspaper to passersby, saw two people in front of the consulate stamping their feet because of the cold. One of them said, "Practicing here in this weather! I wouldn't do it no matter how much you paid me." The practitioner explained to the bystander, "We come here to practice voluntarily. Even the money used to print the newspapers in my hand was taken voluntarily by us practitioners from our savings. We simply hope that more people will have a chance to know the truth. Would you have a look at our newspaper?" Both of them embarrassedly accepted the newspaper.

Soon after the group practice started there, the Chinese Consulate began to respond. Remarks appeared in local newspapers saying that it discredits Chinese people for Falun Gong practice to go on in front of the Consulate. There were even rumors spreading that the truck carrying the truth materials every day was sponsored by the U.S. government. We realized that we had done the right thing since the Chinese Consulate authorities became so nervous and fearful. Some practitioners clarified the truth to the editors of the local newspapers. As for those who took our photos and swore at us, we just bore it silently. With the publishing of Teacher's article, we have a deeper understanding of why those things occurred. One day, a devious person who was taking our photos, snuck back into the Chinese Consulate after our practitioners stopped him.

The Chinese Consulate is a good place to clarify the truth about Dafa to Chinese people. There are different kinds of Chinese people coming here everyday. One practitioner told us a story. One day, when she was distributing a newspaper to a Chinese person, the person not only refused to accept it but also said something very negative. After a few days, when she was doing some shopping in a nearby shopping center, she happened to run into that person again. She took out a newspaper she brought with her, and said, "It's because of a predestined relationship between us that we meet again. How about having a look at our newspaper?" She told him many things concerning the truth about Dafa. Eventually, the man smiled, "The first time you handed me a newspaper; the second time you told me the truth about Falun Dafathe third time I might become a Falun Gong practitioner." Some people encouraged us after they signed our appeal letter, "You're really lucky to be working for what you believe in." Our practitioners also told them, "You have the chance to sign our petition letteryou're lucky, too."

An eight-month-long appeal accompanied by all the interference has gone by, and we have passed the hardest time. We have the confidence and firm determination to persist until the day the Fa rectifies the human world.
