Reuters reported that the Chinese Foreign Ministry made a statement in Washington DC, dragging in libel against Falun Gong in attempting to defend the use of labor camps in China. (see http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20010227/ts/rights_china_dc_3.html for reference)
"The authorities treat those people receiving re-education like teachers treat students, like doctors treat patients and like parents treat children,'' said Liu Jing, head of the State Council Office for Prevention and Handling of [slanderous word omitted].
Well, we already know how certain doctors in mental hospitals treat Falun Gong practitioners imprisoned there as so-called "patients", under direct and unconstitutional orders and coercion from the top levels of the Chinese Regime. People have been imprisoned under the "state secrets" "law" for revealing it. We already know of deaths, torture, and other state-ordered crimes against humanity centered on these labor camps, which have been reported since the earliest days of the use of these labor camps. People have been imprisoned under the "state secrets" "law" for revealing this as well.
"The Falun Gong [slanderous word omitted] is the same as a spiritual drug,'' [Liu] told a news conference. ``It does as much harm to its practitioners, especially the devout ones, as drugs.''"
Mr. Liu, I am truly sorry to see what position you have put yourself in. To save your job, you choose neither to investigate nor to see what Falun Gong is, even in its plainest and simplest manifestations. The only "harm" inflicted on Falun Gong practitioners comes, not from the practice itself, but from the unconstitutional and irrational suppression of Falun Gong. The head medical officer for the Chinese XX Party, from the "Long March" days [The days during China's civil war in 1940's] until mid-1999, saw with his own eyes a medical miracle happen from Falun Gong practice: he could not cure his wife of her illnesses, but her practice of Falun Gong removed those illnesses; multiple studies in Beijing and elsewhere document tens of millions of yuan (Chinese currency) of savings from practitioners who removed illnesses and became productive members of society again.
