Dear [Falun Gong] Friends,
I am pleased to offer my best wishes as you begin the "Walk Across
Michigan for Justice" campaign in conjunction with the global walk effort
to raise awareness of the persecution and brutal treatment of Falun Gong
practitioners in China. Together we must reach the government of the People's
Republic of China with the message to stop its direct violation of fundamental
human rights.
I would hope the government will move to abide by its own Constitution as
well as the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights to allow practitioners the freedom to
pursue personal belief and expression. To this end, your efforts to call
attention to this urgent and critical situation are vital in demonstrating the
depth of concern shared by peace-loving people throughout the world.
Again, best wishes on a very noble and worthwhile endeavor.
Sincerely,
(signature)
