[Weifang City, Shandong Province] Another Case of Inhumane Persecution from Wei-fang City
News Written on February 23:
Yao Xiu-rong, female, in her 50s, is a practitioner from the Nan-yuan Street of Kui-wen District, Weifang City. The street office illegally detained her after she got arrested when appealing in Beijing on last December 1. The authorities refused to release her before her family members could pay 10,000 Yuan (more than a yearly salary of an average Chinese worker).
During her detention of more than one month, she and other detained practitioners had suffered inhumane tortures from the villains hired by the Street Office. During the cold winter, these hired villains stripped off practitioners' clothes and forced them to stand outside on the ice barefooted. Seven to eight practitioners including Ms. Yao had been force-fed with excrements of these villains because these practitioners refused to give up their beliefs in Falun Gong.
On the morning of February 22, she got arrested again for going to the hospital to bid farewell to a fellow practitioner who was beaten to death (Chen Zi-xiu, note from the translator). She suffered the same torture as listed above. She is still in custody now.
Although the situation is so harsh, practitioners in Weifang become more and more determined about their beliefs in Falun Dafa.
[Beijing] Practitioners Arrested for Receiving Overseas Practitioners

He has been expelled from the Party and his salary has been suspended. The officials of his workplace told his family members that he would be sentenced.
Practitioners Chen Su-ping, who was a former police officer in the Chao-yang district and who later resigned his post, Wang Li-wen, Liu Jin-hang and Li Bao-qing, who are a couple from the Chinese Science Academy have all been arrested during the Chinese New Year for being suspected of having received practitioners from overseas before the Chinese New Year. They have been detained for over one month and are still being detained.
[Chinese news net, March 11] Beijing Taxi Drivers Ordered to Send Customers Who Look Like Falun Gong Practitioners to the Police
Before the "Two Sessions" were held, the taxi company ordered its drivers that if the customers who wanted to go to Tiananmen Square appeared to be Falun Gong practitioners, they should send them to the police directly. These taxi drivers were also warned that they should not spare a single practitioner, otherwise they would be in trouble.
The Sun newspaper (Hong Kong) reported that during the "Two Sessions", a lot of police were on the Tiananmen Square.
Taxi drivers usually do not like to send customers to the Tiananmen Square for fear of trouble. A driver said that the police told them in a meeting that they must be very cautious in sending customers to the Tiananmen Square. They were ordered to either refuse to serve those who are suspected to be Falun Gong practitioners, or to take them directly to the police.
