I fear so much for my father jailed in China for practising Falun Gong. I want to express my sincere appreciation to the Citizen for the Nov. 18 article, "Canadian held in Chinese work camp," about my father and about Falun Gong.
I have had a very hard time in the last few months, especially in the last week. It has been overwhelming. I feared so much that my father, KunLun Zhang, would be gone from my life, just like tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners who have been taken away from their families in the last 16 months. I felt even worse thinking that he could disappear without anyone even knowing about it.
Every day I read with tears the horrible stories (Web site: http://faluninfo.net) about what is happening to Falun Gong practitioners in China. My heart is torn. Those stories are rarely reported so most of the people in the world are not aware of them.
As a Falun Gong practitioner myself, I know how peaceful and beneficial Falun Gong is. Yet in China, those kind people such as my father, who follow the principle of "truth, compassion, tolerance" in their daily life, are jailed, beaten and tortured, even to death.
Yet it is absolutely forbidden and dangerous in China for anyone to reveal the suffering and injustice falling on Falun Gong practitioners.
Those who tell about their personal experiences in detention centres are charged with "leaking state secrets" and face even more severe persecution.
On behalf of my parents and the millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China who have been suffering, I would like to thank the Citizen again for letting people know the truth.
