New Jersey Falun Dafa Week and Falun Dafa Awareness Month

November 27, 2000 |

In order to further enable New Jersey residents to know Falun Dafa, and to urge the practitioners in New Jersey to make faster progress and further advancement, New Jersey Falun Dafa practitioners propose to proclaim the week December 4-8 as New Jersey Falun Dafa Week and the Month of December as New Jersey Falun Dafa Awareness Month, with the support of New Jersey State Legislature and many state, county, and city officials.

Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) is an advanced cultivation and practice system of mind, body and spirit based on ancient wisdom. It was introduced to the public by Master Li Hongzhi in 1992. Falun Dafa has helped people worldwide improve their health, purify their mind, uplift their spirit, and deepen their understanding of life and humanity. It has also helped numerous young people and adults turn away from alcohol, drugs, violence, and other bad habits to pursue a more meaningful life. Today, there are about 100 million Falun Dafa practitioners in over 40 countries in Asia, Australia, Europe, and America.

Since Falun Dafa was first introduced to New Jersey in 1996, Falun Dafa has touched the lives of numerous residents of New Jersey, and regular practice sites have been set up throughout the state in many public libraries, public schools, companies, community centers, senior centers, bookstores, universities, parks and YMCAs. Falun Dafa's contributions to New Jersey have been widely recognized by the New Jersey officials including Mayor Bret Shundler of Jersey City, Essex County Executive Treffinger, and Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders. On September 12, 1999, President DiFrancesco of State Senate and Speaker Collins of State General Assembly issued the State Resolutions, respectively, honoring Master Li Hongzhi, founder of Falun Dafa, for his great contributions to New Jersey.
