Large-scale arrest of practitioners when the crackdown of Falun Gong was officially announced in late July 1999.
Even before the official crackdown of Falun Gong began in late July 1999, local authorities in some regions were ordered to harass practitioners. In the examples shown here, cold water (top photo) and loud noise (bottom photo) were used. Practitioners peacefully put up with the harassment and quietly continued their practice.
