According to the CCP's law, any person older than 65 cannot be sentenced to forced labor. But Ms. Liu was once again sent into a forced labor camp. In 2005, she had been sentenced to one and a half year of forced labor, because she visited a fellow practitioner.

Seventy Year-old Ms. Liu Ping Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor

On September 25, 2009, Ms. Liu Ping, a 70 year-old Falun Gong practitioner, was illegally arrested at her home in Lingqiu County, Shanxi Province, by the county police department.

The police burst into her house and ransacked it while she was alone. Her neighbors heard her yelling, "Falun Dafa is good." She was unlawfully detained in the police station that night.

Ms. Liu Ping is a retired worker from Red Flag Plaza. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. Prior to beginning the practice she suffered from many illnesses and had difficulty walking, but subsequently her health dramatically improved, and her pains gradually disappeared. All of her neighbors have witnessed these miraculous changes.

Since the persecution of Falun Gong began, Liu Ping has persisted in her belief. She went to Beijing in October 2000 to clarify the truth about Falun Gong, and was arrested and sentenced to three years of forced labor.

When she went to visit a fellow practitioner on November 5, 2005, they were both arrested and detained in the local police station. During her detention Liu Ping persisted in doing the daily exercises, and told people there the truth about Falun Gong. In an attempt to force her to give up her belief, police officers, including Ma Jiguo, tortured her in a variety of cruel ways. Liu Ping was then sentenced to one and a half year of forced labor. Li Liming, head of the police, threw Liu Ping into the trunk of a police car, along with some luggage, and drove her to the forced labor camp. She had to suffer this form of cruel behavior for many hours, as the labor camp was quite far away.

At the age of 70, Ms. Liu Ping was arrested again. According to her family, she was sentenced to two years of forced labor. According to the CCP's law, any person older than 65 cannot be sentenced to forced labor. Ms. Liu Ping's case demonstrates how the Chinese Communist Party doesn't follow its own rule of law.
