University Teacher Sentenced To Forced Labor for Telling Students the Crimes of Communist Party

In May 2008, Ms. Wang Xiangling, a young teacher from Guangxi Normal University who taught world politics and economics, was secretly monitored by university authorities. Because she taughter her class about various brutal dictatorships during the communist party's history, and predicting that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was bound to be eliminated. On her way back from class, she was arrested by university security and the Guilin City Domestic Security Team. Having been charged with promoting the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and Falun Gong, She was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor.

Other Guangxi Normal University teachers criticized the decision made by the university CCP committee and the Stability Maintenance Office. Some teachers wrote to the local government entities to protest the atrocious policy and conduct that punished Ms. Wang for speaking her understanding of what will happen to the CCP. To make the sentencing more acceptable to the public, the university CCP committee and the local Domestic Security Team intentionally overstated the content of Ms. Wang's lecture and fabricated lies, causing temporary confusion among the public. Soon enough, the lies and fabrication by the authorities and the real cause of her arrest and sentencing, which was that Ms. Wang promoted Falun Gong and the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, became known to the public.

In the persecution case of Ms. Wang, the university CCP committee was the main perpetrator responsible for hatching the plot and deploying college students to secretly videotape Ms. Wang's lectures to be used as "evidence" for persecuting her. The university CCP committee terminated Ms. Wang's employment. On the day the employment termination letter was delivered, the university authorities deployed a dozen officers from the local Domestic Security Team, the local community office, and the neighborhood committee to surround and seal off Ms. Wang's home. Afterwards, Ms. Wang and her family went to the university CCP committee to protest the decision. Wang Nan, the university CCP committee secretary, replied, "The decision is based on a long established policy."

Currently, Ms. Wang's home is under surveillance by security guards.

At 11:00 a.m. on September 9, 2009, Chief Zuo Shuyuan from Baojiatun Township Police Station in Faku County, Liaoning Province, led political director Wang Tai, police officer Xu Jinghua and others to Dashantun Village, Baojiatun Township where they illegally arrested Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Zhang Shuhai and Ms. Song Haiyan and ransacked their homes. The police took Mr. Zhang's Falun Gong books, Minghui Weekly, Shen Yun DVDs and other family belongings.

Chief Zuo Shuyuan deceived Mr. Zhang in Baojiatun Township Police Station by saying that if Mr. Zhang signed his name on the list of the items which they took from his home, he would be immediately released. However, after Mr. Zhang signed his name, Zuo Shuyuan immediately detained Mr. Zhang. Even after fifteen days, the police still didn't release him. Instead, the police reclassified him as a criminal detainee in order to persecute him further.

The people who live in Baojiatun Township know that practitioner Mr. Zhang is an honest and good teacher. Mr. Zhang was formerly the principal at Qianxinqiu Elementary School in Baojiatun Township. After the Chinese Communist Party started the persecution of Falun Gong, Mr. Zhang was removed from the position of school principal and reassigned as a sixth grade teacher. For seven years, whatever subject Mr. Zhang taught, his students always scored the highest in Baojiatun Township. He never accepted money from his students for teaching during the winter and summer vacations, for which his students and their parents were very grateful. After he took over the school's general affairs, the the school accounts were always balanced.
