Mr Lu Renqing was subject to both torture and hard labor. He was not hospitalized for several monthes after being diagnosed with tuberculosis.
Neither Mr. Qi's family nor his employer are notified of his arrest.
Mr. Yang Gui is disabled. He and his family in Dadongying Village, Doumen Township, Huaiyang County, Henan Province, have been persecuted again and again by the CCP over the last nine years because they persist in their belief in Falun Gong. Yang Gui and his brother, Yang Chao, were illegally sentenced and are still being held in forced labor camps. His sister, Yang Liu, was arrested by the police and beaten. His uncle, Jian Yongjun, was sentenced. Both of his parents have died.
Mr. Lu Renqing Dies after Being Transferred to Three Different Prison Facilities
Mr. Lu Renqing, 39, lived in Majiazi Village, Xinbin County, Liaoning Province. He was known for being ill tempered. He suffered from severe headaches, and he was also very attached to money. After he began practicing Falun Gong in March 1999, he became a better person. People wanted to befriend him, he was willing to help others financially, and he no longer had headaches.
He could not understand why the CCP banned Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, so he decided to go to Beijing to appeal for this good practice that had benefited him both spiritually and physically. He was arrested in Beijing before he was able to get to the Office of Appeals. The police took him back to Xinbin County and he was detained for 15 days. He returned to Beijing after released but was arrested again on September 9, 1999, and once again taken back to Xinbin County and sentenced to two years of forced labor
After he was released from Fushun City Forced Labor Camp in March 2000, Dasiping Town Police Department Director Guo Jian (male) and four or five officers went to Mr. Lu Renqing's home and arrested him again. He was taken to the Xinbin County Detention Center. Mr. Lu escaped on the way and had to leave home to avoid being arrested.
On July 1, 2002, officers from Fushun City Police Department arrested him while he was clarifying the truth in Fushun City. He was cruelly beaten and detained in the Fushun City Second Detention Center for four months, where he incurred scabies all over his body. He was sentenced to six and a half years in prison and taken to Dabei Prison located in Shenyang City. In December 2002, he was transferred to Huazi Prison in Liaoyang City.
Mr. Lu remained steadfast in abiding by "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" during his term lasting several years in Huazi Prison. He was inhumanly tortured by being locked in a small cell (1) and brutally force-fed.
On the morning of September 27, 2004, under orders from the guards, three prisoners coerced Mr. Lu into an empty cell, stuffed his mouth, and then beat him until all three of the prisoners were exhausted. He was injured all over his body and had two broken ribs. The three prisoners carried him back to their cell. Two male guards Wang Jianjun, and Xu Chanhai, especially assigned to watch Falun Gong practitioners, tried to call Mr. Lu to their office but he could not walk, so the three prisoners carried him. Mr. Lu said to the guards, "They tortured me as if they were trying to kill me." Xu Changhai replied, "No one saw that." They placed Mr. Lu on a bed under the window so that no one could see how badly he was injured.
Mr. Lu was unable to take care of himself for over a month. He was forced to sit on small plastic stool as another form of torture while he recovered. He asked to see a doctor many times but was always ignored. The guards constantly denied the fact that he was brutally beaten. Although Mr. Lu was very healthy before he ended up in prison, starting in September 2005, he began to cough up blood and had difficulties breathing. He was never allowed to see a doctor and was never treated for his progressively weakening condition.
On December 9, 2007, Huazi Prison officials transferred him to Ganjingzi Prison located in Dalian City. He was still forced to do hard labor even though he was in such poor physical condition. He could not walk, so the guards had two prisoners carry him to the workplace. He went on a hunger strike for seven days to protest this brutal mistreatment. He coughed up blood and became extremely weak. A doctor diagnosed him with advanced tuberculosis. Huazi Prison officials transferred him to Tieling Prison. Another examination revealed a large hole in his lung, and the prison administrators were told twice by physicians that he could die at any time, but they still refused to release him.
Finally heeding his family's urgent requests, on March 10, 2008, Tieling
Prison officials finally took Mr. Lu to Tieling City Tuberculosis Hospital
for treatment. He had water in his lung, and his heart did not function
properly. The doctors operated on him but announced he would not live long. The
long term mental and physical tortures that Mr. Lu had endured damaged his
health beyond recovery. Mr. Lu Renqing died on April 19, 2008.
Mr. Qi Like, a Falun Gong practitioner who once studied in Finland, was arrested secretly in September 2006 at his Shenzhen dwelling by plainclothes police. In June 2007 he was secretly sentenced to three years and is now in Beijiang Prison in Shaoguan, Guangdong Province.
According to sympathetic people, Mr. Qi Like refused to write any statement to renounce Falun Gong. He clarified the truth to the police and those he came into contact with in the prison and thus became a "celebrity" in Beijiang Prison. Qi Like is being kept in handcuffs and shackles and imprisoned in solitary confinement. He is suffering greatly. People who have seen him recently said he looks terrible.
Mr. Qi Like, 30 years old, was originally from Jiangxi. He obtained Falun Gong while studying in Finland in 1997. After his graduation in 2002, he returned to China and was engaged in foreign economic and international trade business in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province.
On the evening of September 23, 2006 he was secretly arrested at his Shenzhen dwelling by Shenzhen plainclothes police. The police took turns pressuring and questioning him, trying to force him to "confess." He was prohibited from sleeping and was questioned under duress 40 times.
Only after he was missing for two months were his parents informed by Shenzhen police, but his company was not aware why he was missing until now.
In June 2007, Mr. Qi was secretly sentenced to three years. He was charged with using the Internet to generate and distribute "illegal" Falun Gong information. However, he could not, in fact, have accessed the Internet from his residence no Internet service had been installed. Qi Like and his parents, who came a long way to join him, refused to accept the charge and appealed. Shenzhen Intermediate Court dared not hold a second trial, rejected the appeal with a written rebuttal, and upheld the original sentence.
Qi Like is the only child in the family. His parents took a long vacation, painstakingly waited in Shenzhen for a year, running in all directions to appeal for help, and spent a large amount of money hiring an attorney. The situation has been pitiful in the extreme and there have been no results.
Initially Mr. Qi was supposed to be sent to Shenzhen Prison, but Shenzhen
Prison officials claimed that he was a political prisoner and they did not have
the personnel to deal with that type of inmate, so they refused to admit him. He
was then taken to Shaoguan Beijiang Prison located in Yuebai.
A Disabled Person and His Family in Huaiyang, Henan Province, Brutally Persecuted
Mr. Yang Gui was born in 1962. When he was a baby, he contracted a serious illness. Because his family was too poor to afford proper treatment, his legs became paralyzed. He crawled on the ground all the time and his knees were always bloody. When he was young, he moved around with the support of a stool. When he grew older, he made a pair of crutches out of sticks to help him walk. When Yang Gui became an adult, he also suffered from chronic enteritis, a hernia, and tinnitus. His sister, Yang Liu, once suffered from serious tracheitis and could not be cured for a long time. Her husband passed away in 1997, and she had to go live with her two children.
In 1996, Mr. Yang's family became Falun Gong practitioners. He became a healthy man and lived on his own. He made a tricycle that he could drive by hand and did odd jobs, such as copying keys and shoe making, on the streets of Xiangcheng City. Ms. Yang Liu's diseases also disappeared after obtaining Falun Gong.
In July 1999, the CCP began the brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Yang Gui clarified the truth to people in his hometown. He was illegally arrested many times in Xiangcheng City and held in the detention center. His crutches were taken away and he had to crawl to buy food and go to the restroom. In November 2006, he was arrested for the fourth time. In order to ingratiate themselves with Mao Chaofeng, head of the CCP in Zhoukou City, people in the public security organizations, the procuratorate, and the court sentenced Yang Gui to four years without producing any legal evidence. He was sent to Zhengzhou Prison.
In May 2001, Li Xizhi and Yan Min from Doumen Police Station arrested Ms. Yang Liu. Li Xizhi slapped her mouth until Ms. Yang's head spun, her teeth were loosened (she soon lost four of them), and her mouth and face were swollen. She was handcuffed to a pillar, and Li Xizhi designated two policemen to beat her buttocks with bamboo sticks. She was beaten until she lost control of her bowels. Her pants were ripped and the muscles of her buttocks festered. Two policemen stomped on her feet and legs, bruising and lacerating her legs, ankles, and the tops of her feet. They kicked her legs at the same time in opposite directions. She fainted immediately. The next day the police took her to the detention center, where she was illegally detained for ten months. Jailer Wang Peidong designated prisoners to put extra large shackles on her, even though she had already been injured, and tortured her by pulling the shackles.
When Yang Gui and his sister were detained, their father ran around seeking their release and borrowed money to pay the illegal fines. He had money extorted from him many times and became exhausted both mentally and physically. He died in December 2001.
His younger brother, Yang Chao, is a kind man. He was arrested many times and became homeless to keep from being picked up again. In the spring of 2004, Mr. Yang Chao was arrested again and sentenced to seven years imprisonment.
Yang Gui's uncle, Jian Yongjun, also cultivates Falun Gong. On July 1, 2007, a group of police arrested him and sentenced him to four years imprisonment. He is now in Huaiyang Detention Center.
Yang Gui's mother, Jian Junlan, who was about 70 years old, died in December 2007 after being severely attacked many times.
