The National Security Group of Yilan County Police Department, Heilongjiang Province, brutally arrested practitioner Ms. Luu Huiwen two weeks ago and sent her to Harbin City Women's Forced Labor Camp, where she is being tortured.

Ms. Luu Huiwen, a 55-year-old villager from Xinmin Village, Sandaogang Township, Yilan County, had eye diseases for seven years before she learned Falun Gong. She was almost blind. Her severe eye disability caused her great pain and inconvenience. She recovered after taking up Falun Gong and told everyone she came across that Falun Gong was good. Ms. Luu lives by the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and is a different person than before. She is liked by all.

After July 20, 1999, when the persecution led by the Party and Jiang Zemin began, Ms. Luu was subjected to brutal physical and mental torture. In 2000, she was jailed four times. Her legs were shackled, she was force-fed, and she was subjected to public humiliation in the streets with other inmates. In January 2001, Yilan County Police sentenced her to two years and sent her to Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City .

During the time she was incarcerated, Ms. Luu was profusely tortured and mistreated. Because she refused to write the three statements, she was handcuffed behind her back and then hung by the handcuffs with her feet barely touching the ground. She was hung three times in this manner. She was also shocked and beaten with an electric baton and was forced to squat on a small bench while locked up in solitary confinement. As a result, scabies grew all over her body.

In summer 2005, through the Minghui Focus program, Ms. Luu exposed how the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp and all levels of the Chinese Communist Party persecuted Falun Gong practitioners.

On March 27, 2007, Zhang Wenguo, head of the National Security Group of Yilan County Police Department; Song Yuzhe, associate head; Li Yuwen, associate director of the Sandaogang Police Station; and police officers Xi Jingwu and Jin Shaofeng were directed by Harbin City Police Department to go to Ms. Luu's home to arrest her. In two police vehicles they went to Ms Luu's and forcibly took her away, not even allowing her to put on her shoes or her topcoat. They drove her directly to the 2nd Detention Center in Yilan County. Two weeks later, the police sentenced her to two years of forced labor in Harbin City Women's Forced Labor Camp.

Liu Peizhu is chief of Jilin City Police Department, the director of the Prison Administration Bureau, and the city deputy mayor.

Since July 20, 1999, when the Jiang regime started the ruthless persecution of Falun Gong, more than 80 practitioners in the Jilin area have died as a result of the persecution. Several thousand practitioners were "illegally sentenced," sent to forced labor camps, detained, or had their homes searched. Many practitioners suffered from different tortures while in detention. Countless families were broken up. All these tragedies were caused and instigated by the Jilin 610 Office, the Jilin National Security Office, and local police stations. Liu Peizhu, in his capacity as head of the above mentioned public offices, is responsible for this persecution of kind and innocent cultivators. He must bear the blame for the savage persecution of Falun Gong in Jilin City and in the whole Jilin area.

For the past couple of years, with Liu Peizhu being the "backstage plotter," many practitioners have been arrested. Some have been cruelly tortured to extort confessions or tortured to the point of disability or death. Here are some examples.

Officials from the Nanjing Police Station in the Chuanying District arrested practitioner Wang Jianguo and his wife, Zhao Quimei, on March 2, 2006. Tan Xinqiang was the head perpetrator in the arrest. They tried to extort a confession from Mr. Wang by torturing him, causing severe injuries to his face and arms. While he was held in Jilin City Detention Center, the guards tortured him ruthlessly and force-fed him, causing severe physical damage. Mr. Wang died a month later, on April 10, 2006. He was only 30 years old. The detention center did not notify his family.

It's been one year since Wang Jianguo died as a result of persecution. His wife, Zhao Qiumei, is still being held in Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp and doesn't know her husband has died. The officer who killed Mr. Wang, deputy chief Cong Maohua, is still at large.

On August 24, 2005, National Security Group police officer Di Shigang, together with other officers, illegally arrested Ms. Yang Lijuan for practicing Falun Gong. They detained her in a two-story building of the Third Criminal Police Team near Guoyao in Jilin City. They interrogated Ms. Yang in a dark room on the second floor, using various torture methods, including hanging her by her handcuffed wrists, force-feeding her mustard water for more than five hours, tying her to a metal chair, handcuffing her behind her back with one hand over the shoulder and the other hand below, slapping her face, pulling her hair, shocking her with electric batons, and placing sticks across her ankles and stepping on them. She immediately lost consciousness from the beating. Despite the torture, Ms. Yang never gave up her belief in Falun Gong.

Officer Di Shigang from the National Security Group pulled up his uniform, pointed to his name tag and shouted at Ms. Yang's 81-year-old mother, "You remember my name! I'm Di Shigang. I am the one who arrested her!"

Falun Gong practitioner Liu Hongwei used to have a happy family life with his wife, Yu Lixin, and lovely daughter, Xinzhu. This family has suffered since the beginning of the persecution of Falun Gong. Those in charge at the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Jilin Province murdered his wife, Yu Lixin, on May 13, 2002. Their daughter was only eight years old that year. Mr. Liu Hongwei was sentenced to two years of forced labor and was sent to Huanxiling Forced Labor Camp in Jilin City and also to Tonghua Forced Labor Camp and Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. While Mr. Liu was in Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp, guard Li Jun tortured him with various methods, including electric baton shocks inside the rectum, merciless beatings with the handle of a pickaxe, other physical abuse, and mental torment. Police officers from the 610 Office in Jilin City and agents from the National Security Team arrested Mr. Liu on September 16, 2003. He was tortured to within inches of his life and was sent to Jilin Hospital. Mr. Liu had to stay away from his own home following his successful escape from the hospital.

Officers from Jilin National Security again arrested Mr. Liu on October 24, 2006. He was later sent to the Jilin Detention Center, where officials interrogated him frequently. They tortured him to extort evidence and they also fabricated information to slander him. Mr. Liu can barely walk and has a severely injured back. He was subjected to an illegal trial. During his last court appearance he was brought in in a wheelchair.

Between February and March 2007, agents at the Jilin 610 Office and those from the National Security Bureau arrested 19 practitioners. Du Xingze and Di Shigang extorted confessions from most of them by using torture. Practitioner Ms. Zhao Yingjie was force-fed five bottles of mustard oil, which severely injured her face and mouth. A most shameful torture was poking practitioner Ms. Zhao's genital area with a clothes hanger. Practitioner Wang Liqiu was force-fed eight bottles of mustard oil and was abused so severely as to cause a heart attack. Practitioner Liu Yu from Huadian City could no longer walk due to the abuse. Practitioners Mu Chunhong and Zhao Guoxing were likewise brutally tortured.

Practitioner Mr. Shao Hui was a doctor working for the Hongshi Forestry Bureau in Huadian City, Jilin Province. He was sentenced to one year of forced labor in November 2000. He was tortured at Huanxiling Forced Labor Camp in Jilin City and was transferred to Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai City. He escaped from the forced labor camp on March 31, 2002. The police searched for him everywhere. Officers from the Jilin Police Station caused his death during the night of August 21, 2002. He was only 31 years old and left behind a five-year-old son.

Mr. Shao Hui's wife, Mu Ping, was being persecuted in Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. The labor camp didn't release her until she was within inches of losing her life. She has been weak ever since. Ms. Mu was arrested again on October 24, 2006. Participating in the arrest were police from the National Security Team at Jilin City Police Department. The arrest happened when she went to pay her taxes at the Chaoyang District Tax Bureau in Changchun City, Jilin Province. Police later ransacked her home and confiscated her computer, cash, a bank deposit card crediting her with 70 thousand yuan, Falun Gong books, and truth-clarification CDs.

On March 11, 2006, agent Yu Jinji from the National Security Group in Huadian City arrested practitioner Mr. Wang Xiaodong. The policemen tortured him by force-feeding him petroleum and using a "brain shaking machine." Policemen Yu Jinji and Yang Baolin from the 610 Office forged evidence in an attempt to bring Mr. Wang to an illegal trial. The Huadian City Court dismissed the case four times due to insufficient evidence. On August 14, 2006, he was put on trial for the fifth time by Huandian Court agents in Jilin Province.

I am a Falun Gong practitioner who was released from prison last year. During the past eight years of the CCP persecution I have been sent to forced labor twice and sentenced to prison once. I was detained in a detention center many times. The ruthless tortures I've experienced that pushed me to the brink of death each time are too many to count. They included the "hanging up" torture, "carrying a sword in the back" torture, being beaten and thrown by many guards, forced-feedings, having my blood drawn, and forced injections of unknown drugs. However, with my firm belief in Falun Gong and with fellow practitioners support, I was able to survive these atrocities.

I remember when I was hung up in the air the first time after I was sent to the prison. Since I am a very thin woman, all the inmates said if I could get out of the prison alive they would believe in the power of Falun Gong and would all practice Falun Gong.

During the savage persecution of the past several years, I have personally experienced the CCP's evil influences everywhere, and especially during my personal experience of being persecuted for more than ten days.

One day in May 2002, as I ate lunch at home, a police car came to my home and several policemen searched my house. They took away two hand-copied articles and my frequency modulator. I was arrested and taken to cell No. 14 at the Second Detention Center in Hegang City. The guards told me that this was an "advanced" detention center. When I got to the cell, the guards had just finished forcing Falun Gong practitioners to watch videos slandering Falun Gong. The detention center head brought one of his friends to cell No. 14. He thought these videos would deceive the practitioners so they would give up their beliefs. He asked the practitioners, "Now that you've seen the videos, have you changed your mind? Are you still going to practice Falun Gong?" How could the practitioners be deceived by this?

The practitioners immediately exposed the lies the evil CCP had spread about Falun Gong and told of the wonders of Falun Gong, and of the physical and mental benefits Falun Gong and following the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance had brought them. When the detention center head saw that he wasn't able to reach his goal, he showed his real wicked face and shouted, "You wait and see! I don't believe the CCP can't fix you."

Two days later the guards used as their reason for ruthless abuse the practitioners' practicing the exercises. While the practitioners were practicing the exercises in their cells, the guards came in to interfere and blamed the head of the inmates, "Why didn't you stop them from practicing?" He replied, "Jiang's regime and the CCP can't even stop them. How could I stop them?" The guards shouted, "If you can't stop them, don't even think about going home. We will not let you go!"

Another group of guards with belts and white plastic tubes arrived and pulled us down from the bed to the floor and dragged us to the hallway while kicking and beating us. We kept calling out, "Falun Dafa is good!"

We told them that they were violating the law by beating us. They shouted, "These are commands from upper level officials. Death of Falun Gong practitioners due to torture can be treated as suicide!"

As they were shouting, they put the practitioners who were in front into shackles.

They then went to other prisons and detention centers nearby to collect other torture instruments. They also bought supplies to make new instruments of torture by welding the pieces together. The instruments they used were one-meter long metal rods. On both ends they were welded with shackles (two metal rings to secure feet on two ends of the rod). Then they positioned handcuffs on the rod and handcuffed practitioners to the rod. This way the practitioners could not sit straight, and also needed others to feed them, and yet others to help carry them to the bathroom.

Twenty-six practitioners were made to wear this torture instrument and sit on the brick floor. Winter was approaching, and the prison cells were damp and cold. Sitting on the floor for a long time made us chilled to the bones. Even worse, the guards brought in fans to blow cold air toward us.

The guards saw that their deeds didn't work as expected. They then ordered inmates to monitor the practitioners, and they deprived practitioners of sleep. They intimidated the inmates, saying, "You will go down with the Falun Gong practitioners!" If the guards found anyone closing their eyes they would punish the inmates. Each time a practitioner closed an eye, the abusers would pour water on him or beat or verbally abuse him. Once when an inmate saw us sitting on the cold brick floor a whole day and night, she couldn't stand it and put a jacket on a practitioner. Within a couple minutes, several guards rushed in and put shackles on her as well.

I suffered from this kind of torture for eight days before I was transferred to a forced labor camp. The guards said that going through this torture for three days could mutilate one's bottom. But the practitioners suffered the torture for eight days, and we were all fine. The guards couldn't even believe it. Several days later, 25 practitioners suffered the same torture in cell 13. The longest duration was two weeks.

Falun Gong practitioners are suffering from broken families and prison sentences. Although the practitioners have been ruthlessly persecuted, we don't have any complaints, regrets or hatred. We hope to open up people's kindness with our compassionate and peaceful demeanors. This goes equally for the police, the inmates who participated in the persecution, as well as the predestined people. We hope they will correctly position the relationship between CCP and themselves. Treasure yourselves and quit the CCP to save yourself!

At around 11:30 p.m. on January 27, 2007, Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Dong Yurong, 50, and Ms. Zhang Zhongyue, 45, an employer in Guangshan County Livestock Farming Bureau, went to the area near Chengnan Police Station to post truth-clarification posters. The local police arrested them. On January 28, 29, and 30, three other practitioners--Hu Qingxian, Chen Lianghe, and Yuan--were arrested and their homes were searched. The police handcuffed Mr. Yuan behind his back and tortured him for an entire night. The next day his family was had 5000 yuan extorted from them for his release. The other practitioners are still illegally detained in Guangshan County Detention Center.

The police brutally persecuted the practitioners in detention. They deprived them of sleep day and night. They cursed and beat them, tried to coerce them to "confess," and handcuffed them behind their backs. Two practitioners were taken to the new train station to be tortured in secret. Police officer Qu Yingde kicked a practitioner who was handcuffed behind his back down to the ground and stepped on the practitioner's neck, allowing other officers to then take turns torturing him.

In addition, Guangshan County 610 Office and police department told the families of practitioners that they would release the practitioners if the families paid a certain amount of money before February 16, i.e. Chinese New Year's eve. At the same time, they intensively interrogated and tortured the the practitioners. At the time, the police department and the Procuratorate issued so-called "arrest warrants" for Zhang Zhongyue, Dong Yurong, Hu Qingxian, and Chen Lianghe. It was said that the police held the warrants and did not deliver them to the practitioners' families until the Lantern Festival.

• On January 26, 2007, Mr. Li Jichang, a resident of Wenjiao Village, Heshun Town of Nanhai District, was arrested by police led by Zheng Biao and Peng Xiaohong. He was first detained at the police department of Chancheng District, then transferred to the Sanshui Labor Camp. His family was not notified. When his family traced him to the labor camp, he was locked up in the water dungeon. He was on the verge of death when he was pulled out of the water dungeon (this happened before 2001).

• Mr. Wu Jianpei is a retiree of Jinxi Hospital in Heshun Town. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor and sent to the Sanshui Labor Camp. His mother, in her eighties, was left at home alone (this happened before 2001).

• Mr. Tang Zhengyi, a practitioner from Heshun Twon, was arrested when he was visiting his friend. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor and sent to the Sanshui Labor Camp (this happened before 2001).

• Mr. Kong Fantong, in his twenties, is a teacher. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor (this happened before 2001).

• Mr. Liang Jifeng, in his forties, is an employee at a cement factory. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor (this happened before 2001).

• Ms. Long Jianhao, 27, is a practitioner from Heshun Town. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor (this happened before 2001).

• Ms. Jiang Liangyan, 68, is a resident of Heshun Town. She was arrested when she was clarifying the facts to the public. She is detained in a detention center.

• In August 2000, Mr. Chen Xiangyang was arrested at the hospital when his wife was about to give birth to their baby. He was arrested for practicing Falun Gong, then sentenced to three years of forced labor and sent to the Sanshui Labor Camp.

• On July 26, 2005, Ms. Chen Haiban, in her fifties, was arrested by police officers from the Hainan District Police Department and the 610 Office. Her sentence is unknown.

• Ms. Peng Miaoshan, about 25 years old, was arrested and her sentence is unknown (this happened before 2001).

• In July 2000, Mr. Zhong Manhong, a resident of Lishui Town, was arrested and detained in a detention center for a month. After he was released, he was monitored around the clock. Several days after his release, he was arrested again and sentenced to one year of forced labor.

• Mr. Zhang Fadong was arrested and sentenced to one year of forced labor for practicing Falun Gong. When the police ransacked his home, they stole 3000 yuan. The stolen money was borrowed from their friends for living expenses (this happened before 2001).

• Chen Ran was arrested and sentenced due to practicing Falun Gong (this happened before 2001).

• The police went to Ms. Zhong Xiuqiong's home and forced her to go to the police station for questioning. She was then arrested and sentenced to two years of forced labor (this happened before 2001).

• Ms. Wu Yanzhen was forced to go to the police station. She was then arrested and sentenced to two years of forced labor for practicing Falun Gong. Her 12-year-old daughter is left home alone (this happened before 2001).

• Ms. Huo Wanhong had been arrested and detained for a month. After she was released, the police forced her to go to the police station. She was then arrested, sentenced to two years of forced labor and sent to the Sanshui Labor Camp (this happened before 2001).

• Ms. He Sifeng, in her forties, is a resident of Yanbu Town. On the morning of December 5, 2006, the police arrested her and took her to the Nanhai Detention Center in Foshan City. Later, she was detained in the Sanshui Labor Camp. Ms. She had been arrested and sent to the Sanshui Labor Camp for a year.

• Mr. Wu Rifeng, about 28 years old, is a resident of Nanhai District. Late in 2004, he was arrested and sent to the Sanshui Labor Camp for persecution. Mr. Wu had been sentenced to one year of forced labor in July 2000. During his detention in the labor camp, the camp guard shocked him with electric batons. His term was extended for six months, and he was released in February 2002. Shortly after his release, he was arrested again and was detained for a month.

• Ms. Liang Xiaoyan and Ms. Liang Qixia are residents of Xiqiao Town. On the morning of July 17, 2003, they were arrested in their shop and the shop was ransacked. They were detained in the Nanhai District Detention Center.

• On the evening of April 30, 2006, Mr. He Jianshen and his wife, Ms. Liang Xiaoyan, were arrested due to practicing Falun Gong. Their daughter is left home alone.

• On June 17, 2004, the police from the Guanyao Police Station in Nanhai District arrested Ms. Xun Miaoyan. They ransacked her home.

• Ms. Deng Caijuan, 33, lives at Dongshen New Village #16, Nanhai District. At around 10:00 p.m. on April 8, 2004, the 610 Office head from Foshan City, Liang Wenhui, and his deputy Zheng Biao led over ten policemen to arrest Ms. Deng. She was first detained in the Foshan City Detention Center and then sentenced to forced labor in July 2007.

• Wei Junhang, male, 27, is a resident of Nanhai District. In 2000, he went to Tiananmen Square to show a Falun Gong banner and was sentenced to three years of forced labor after he was arrested.

• Early in February 2007, Mr. Mai Renming was arrested when he was distributing Falun Gong materials in Nanhai District. He is detained in the Nanhai District Detention Center. His wife and their two-year-old baby are left home alone.

• In December 2000, Mr. You Xianbang, a practitioner from Nanhai District, was sentenced to one year of forced labor. When his term expired, he was not released since he refused to give up practicing Falun Gong.

• In 2000, Mr. Zhang Fadong, a practitioner from Nanhai District, was sentenced to forced labor for going to Tiananmen Square to display a Falun Gong banner.
