Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Bian Changxue from Yutian County, Hebei Province, was unlawfully sentenced to seven years in prison in December 2006. He is currently detained in the 1st Squadron of the 5th Detachment at Jidong Prison in Tangshan City. To protest the persecution, he has been on hunger strike since August 7, 2006. The details are as follows.
Mr. Bian Changxue, 43, is from Shilituo Village, Sanshuitou Town in Yutian County. He served in the army for 15 years, and soon after his transfer to civilian work, he was laid off.
Mr. Bian was arrested and his home ransacked many times by agents from the 610 Office in Yutian County, by personnel from the police department, and by officials from the Sanshuitou Town Police Station. This has happened since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, due to Mr. Bian's firm belief in the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and for his clarifying the truth to people. His last arrest was on April 7, 2006.
On January 25, 2006, police officer Yang Ruidong from the Sanshuitou Town Police Station arrested Bian Changxue and confiscated his laptop computer, printer, and Falun Gong books. He was held in the Yutian County Detention Center and bailed out on February 12, 2006, after going on a huger strike to protest the persecution. Overseas fellow practitioners' phone calls to clarify the truth also contributed to his release. After he returned home, the 610 Office officials from the police department and from the Sanshuitou Town Police Station constantly harassed his whole family and forced his wife, a schoolteacher, to stop teaching and stay home to monitor him day and night.
On April 7, 2006, when Yutian County Police Department officials saw that he hadphysically recovered and was able to walk, they arrested him again and sentenced him to seven years in prison.
On June 17, 2006, Mr. Bian was taken to Jidong Prison in Tangshan. The policemen monitoring him are Li Kezhang and Tian Shoubin.
Bian Changxue has been on hunger strike since August 7, 2006.
On October 16, 2006, at around 6:00 a.m., Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Xue of Jiaozhou City, a suburb of Qingdao City, was awakened by the sound of someone pounding on her door. The local 610 Office and the policemen, totaling around 16, forced their way in and ransacked her house. The confiscated a computer, CD-burner, copy machine, fax machine and personal items including some United States currency. At the same time, they illegally arrested 30-year-old Li Xue and her father Mr. Li Yuzhen. On the following day they also arrested Li Xue's sister Li Mei and her older brother Li Jun.
Ms. Li Xue's mother, Ms. Song Guixiang, who was not home at the time, was not arrested. However, on January 22, 2007, she was turned in by a police officer's relative. Another Falun Gong practitioner in the area, Ms. Song Guilan, was also arrested.
Ms. Li Xue and her father, Li Yuzhen, were taken to the 3rd Police Squadron in Beiguan District for interrogation. There they were detained for 15 days. Afterwards, Li Xue was transferred to the Qingdao City Dashen Detention Center, where she is still being held. After interrogation, Li Mei was detained and Li Gun was sent back to where he works and put under strict surveillance.
After being detained for 15 days, Song Guixiang was transferred to Shandong Province's Wang Cun Women's Labor Camp. Authorities planned to keep her in the labor camp for two years, but on February 17 she walked right out of the camp with her righteous thoughts and returned home safely. The authorities intend to keep Song Guilan in the labor camp for 18 months. Her husband has passed away and her 86-year-old mother is left at home alone.
In order to persecute them, officials in Jiaozhou are withholding pension money belonging to Mr. Li Yuzhen and his wife Ms. Song Guixiang. Li Jun's salary has also been withheld. The whole amount totals about 5000 yuan per month. They are not even permitted basic living expenses.
On March 15, 2007, Jiaozhou Court was holding a so-called "court
hearing." Li Xue, with strong righteous thoughts, refused to say that
she was guilty and declared that Falun Dafa is good, that Falun Gong
practitioners are good people and that she is not guilty. The judge had
nothing to say, and the so-called "court hearing" ended with no result.
The Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) judicial and police organizations in Lin'an City, Zhejiang Province, recently held a secret court trial and illegally sentenced Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yin Jinlong to five and half years in prison. Mr. Yin was not allowed to hire an attorney or inform his family members. His family members found out about the trial only after making repeated inquiries. Mr. Yin is being illegally imprisoned at the Second Prison of Zhejiang Province.
Mr. Yin was arrested in the early morning on July 25, 2006. His family and relatives looked around for an attorney and found one brave enough to defend Mr. Yin close to home and paid him a deposit. After the attorney had already started to work on the case, the Lin'an City Judiciary exerted pressure on this attorney to keep him from defending Mr. Yin. They threatened him by saying that his career would be adversely affected if he were to take on the case, and even went so far as to imply that he might be sent to a labor camp. Bowing to this pressure, the attorney gave up and returned the deposit with apologies.
In January 2007, when Yin Jinlong's family members went to Lin'an City Detention Center to bring him some clothes, they were informed by the guards that he was no longer there. After persistent inquiries, they were finally told that he had been secretly sentenced and transferred to the Second Prison of Zhejiang Province.
After repeated questioning by Yin's family, officials at the Lin'an City Court surprisingly claimed that there was no need to notify family members about an impending trial or to inform them about the final judgment. They further claimed that this procedure was not illegal. However, after the persistent questions from Yin's family, they started to hide inside their office building and did not dare to make a public appearance.
Currently, the people involved in Mr. Yin Jinlong's case work at the Political Security Section of the Lin'an Municipal Police Department, the Lin'an City Political and Judiciary Committee (also known as the 610 Office), the Lin'an City Judicial Bureau, and the Procuratorate.
At present, Mr. Yin is imprisoned in the maximum security section of the Second Prison of Zhejiang Province, where personal visits, basic rights, and eating or drinking are all seriously restricted.
The Second Prison of Zhejiang Province is located in Linping Town,
Hangzhou City, near the Fourth Prison of Zhejiang Province. All male
Falun Gong practitioners from Zhejiang Province that have been tried
are imprisoned in one these two prisons. The Second Prison is publicly
known as the "Qianjiang Tool Factory in Hangzhou City" and the Fourth
Prison is known as the "Wulin Machine Company in Hangzhou City,
Limited."
