In March 2007, it was confirmed that thirteen Falun Gong practitioners in China died as a direct result of torture. Among these practitioners, nine died during January and February 2007 and the other four died in March. The victims were four females, with five of them over 50 years of age, and included a judge, an engineer, a trade union president, farmers, workers, credit clerks, retirees, a young mother and ordinary residents. The youngest practitioners were Ms. Xu Hongmei from Qiqihar City in Heilongjiang Province, and Ms. Wang Hongnan from Anshan City in Liaoning Province. They were both 37 years old. Five were from Heilongjiang Province, three from Liaoning, one from Jilin, one from Shandong, one from Guizhou, one from Jiangxi Province and one from Beijing City.
They all died as a result of inhuman torture by the Chinese Communist regime, simply because they wanted to be good persons, speak the truth, and follow the principles of Falun Gong -- "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." The brutal aspects of these cases of persecution would shock anyone. On February 27, 2007, two practitioners were tortured to death by the police in Qiqihar City to obtain a "confession," including names of other practitioners and an agreement to give up their belief and practice of Falun Gong. At least five of the practitioners died refusing to give up their beliefs in Falun Gong. They suffered from ruthless brainwashing and brutal torture. They were given unknown drugs causing numbness in their extremities, loss of control over bladder and bowels, memory loss, hallucinations and loss of lucidity.
Over the past years, the Chinese Communist regime has ruthlessly tried to control and cover up the truth of their persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. However, the information has continued to flow out of China, showing that the Communist Party has never stopped its inhuman torture of Falun Gong practitioners since the persecution began on July 20, 1999. Clearwisdom records show that more than 3,013 Falun Gong practitioners in China have been confirmed as having been persecuted to death. There are many more cases of practitioners missing, and investigations are underway into the deaths of other practitioners.

At about 4:00 p.m. on January 13, 2007, police officers led by Yi Zhanhui, of the Qingyunjie Police Station in Qiqihar City, broke into a house and illegally arrested practitioners Ms. Xu Hongmei, Ms. Shen Zili and Ms. Hou Yaqian. They had been previously forced to leave their homes to avoid being arrested and persecuted. Yi Zhanhui dragged Ms. Xu Hongmei down the stairs from the fourth floor to the ground floor. When Ms. Xu Hongmei shouted, "Falun Dafa is Good!" the policemen kicked and punched her.
At the Qingyunjie Police Station, the police tried to force confessions from the practitioners using various cruel torture methods. Ms. Xu Hongmei was tied to a bed with her legs and arms stretched far apart. The officers hung her upside down four times and upright once. Finally, she lost consciousness. Yi Zhanhui poured cold water on her to awaken her, so they could continue to torture her. She was then locked up in an iron cage. Ms. Shen Zili was taped to a chair. The thugs grabbed her hair and slammed her head against the wall until she passed out. They continued to beat her when she came to, using various torture methods. No matter what methods the police officers used attempting to obtain a confession and information that would lead to the arrest of more practitioners, Ms. Shen Zili and Ms. Xu Hongmei would not give in. Ms. Shen and Ms. Xu were on the verge of death on January 18, when the police transferred them to Qiqihar Detention Center.
Ms. Shen Zili, Ms. Xu Hongmei and Ms. Hou Yaqie were arrested without any legal process by the policemen from the Qingyunjie Police Station. Their families were anxiously looking for them, but when they inquired about their whereabouts at the Qingyunjie Police Station, the police asked, "Who told you they are detained here?" Ms. Shen Zili and Ms. Xu Hongmei's families begged for help getting the practitioners released at the Qiqihar City 610 Office, the Qingyunjie Police Station and Longsha Police Sub-bureau. The police behaved badly. Gong Yanhui, director of the Qingyunjie Police Station, used every excuse to avoid meeting with the families and deliberately made things as difficult as possible.
On the afternoon of February 27, 2007, Ms Xiu Hongmei and Ms. Shen Zili were sent to the No. 2 Hospitial of Qiqihar City on the verge of death, still handcuffed and shackled. As a direct result of the torture by lawless policemen Yi Kanhui and Zhou Huanyu, Ms. Xu Hongmei and Ms. Shen Zili suffered serious internal injuries. Both practitioners were unconscious, coughing and spitting up blood, and had muscle nerve twitches, edema, and damage and/or failure of five internal organs. Their blood pressure had dropped to 40 mm Hg, they vomited up everything fed to them, and they were emaciated.
After medical personnel injected them with protein drugs both of them looked dull, could not breathe and lost consciousness. Tiantian, Ms. Xu's 9-year old daughter, cried because her mother didn't recognize her.
Ms. Xu Hongmei and Ms. Shen Zili died at 4:30 p.m. and 8:50 p.m., February 27, 2007, respectively. They died less than two weeks after the day they were abducted. Ms. Xu Hongmei was only 37 and Ms. Shen Zili was 49.
Tiantian was arrested at the same time as her father and mother. She was under house arrest, living through the horror of being forcibly deprived of her parents' loving care. She grew up in an environment of discrimination, her mother now dead and father still being held at Tailai Prison. Tiantian could only stay with her aging grandmother and does not understand why her father and mother were detained for being good people. She does not understand why the police murdered her mother.

Ms. Zou Yongping, 54, was the head of the workers' union at the Xinbin County Medicine Administrative Bureau. Ms. Zou went to Beijing many times to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and to clarify the truth after the persecution began on July 20, 1999. She was arrested and detained at Xinbin County Detention Center more times than one can count. Ms. Zou was seen as a "key" person by the Xinbin 610 Office. She was detained many times, fined, and twice taken to a forced labor camp. She was detained once at Fushun City Forced Labor Camp and once at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. As a result of torture at the labor camps, Zou Yongping developed symptoms of high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases and mental trauma, which caused her to act abnormally. In 2005, Masanjia Forced Labor Camp released Ms. Zou on bail for medical treatment to avoid responsibility for her condition. Ms. Zou never recovered. On October 28, 2006, her body was discovered along a road to Matang Village in Xinbin County.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhao Wenpeng, in his forties, and was from Guiyang City in Guizhou Province. In August of 2006, Liu Suzhi, chairman of the Workers Union in the Guiyang Postal and Telecommunications Equipment Factory, reported Mr. Zhao Wenpeng to the police. Mr. Zhao was taken away by the police and brought to Yuanyan District Detention Center in Guiyang City. Mr. Zhao suffered all kinds of brutal torture at the detention center. He developed edema all over his body in just a few months. The torture left a big wound on the side of his left thigh, which continually oozed pus. Zhao Wenpeng was transferred to the Guiyang City Police Hospital for so-called "treatment" by the authorities. After the police doctor gave him a checkup, he said Mr. Zhao had diabetes. The "treatments" of injections and drugs only made Mr. Zhao Wenpeng's health deteriorate even more rapidly. He developed acro-anesthesia [numbness of limbs], incontinence and other disorders during these treatments. Mr. Zhao Wenpeng died at the Guiyang City Police Hospital on March 7, 2007.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhou Zuofu, 57, was an employee of Ruichang City Linen Factory in Jinagxi Province. He was arrested eight times by the police and the Ruichang City 610 Office. He was illegally detained, subjected to brainwashing and sentenced to forced labor. His weight dropped from 150 pounds to 90 pounds and he became extremely weak from long-term torture at Majialong Labor Camp. This still failed to extinguish Mr. Zhou's faith in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The guards put poison in his food. The ongoing tortures severely damaged his mind and body, causing him to suffer a mental collapse. Mr. Zhou died at about 6 o'clock on March 6, 2007.
Crimes Committed at Jilin Prison
(Please refer to: /emh/articles/2007/4/4/84213.html)
Nine Falun Gong practitioners were tortured to death, including Mr. Liu Chengjun, Mr. Zhang Jianhua, Mr. Cui Weidong, Mr. Wei Xiushan, Mr. He Yuanhui, Mr. Hao Yingqiang, Mr. Lei Ming, Mr. Sun Changde and Mr. Wang Qibo. The following is information about the persecution of Wang Qibo:
Mr. Wang Qibo was an employee of a credit union in Yangshulin Village, Nong'an County, Jilin Province. His wife, Sun Shiying, was an elementary school teacher. They often quarreled before they took up the practice of Falun Gong. Sun Shiying previously suffered from gastric ulcers and a duodenal ulcer that had not improved even after long-term treatment. After learning Falun Gong, they practiced the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" at every turn. They measured their actions and looked inward when encountering conflicts. Their family became more and more harmonious and Sun Shiying's diseases were cured without medical treatment. The whole family lived in a peaceful atmosphere.
After the persecution began, Wang Qibo was arrested and badly beaten many times. On February 28, 2000, the police again arrested Wang Qibo and brought him to the police station. Jiang Ximing and others brutally beat him that evening. They then illegally detained him at the Nong'an County Detention Center for several days. Mr. Wang was then transferred to the Weizigou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun.
On July 6, 2001, Wang Qibo's son was arrested for distributing Falun Gong flyers and was detained by a plainclothes police officer. Later, six to seven police officers went to the senior Wang's home to arrest him, but Mr. Wang refused to open the door. Police officers Wang Mingzhang and Wang Pangzi pried open the window and broke into the house. Since Wang Qibo and Su Shiying did not cooperate with the unreasonable demands of the police, Jiang Xingzhou started to drag them by their hair. Mr. Wang's second sister (a non-practitioner) saw that Wang Qibo was being beaten and she argued with the police. She was also forcibly taken away by the police.
On July 13, 2002, Wang Ping, director of the Yangshulin Police Station, led former chief Wu of the police bureau in Guo County and two armed policemen to go to Wang Qibo's home. The police had no answer when people asked why they were arresting Wang Qibo. They brought Wang Qibo to the detention center at Guo County for illegal detainment. At the end of the year, Mr. Wang was illegally and secretly sentenced to seven years in prison. He was sent to the Jilin Provincial Prison. There, he was cruelly tortured in various ways, including long periods in an isolated cell. At around 9:50 a.m. on March 28, 2007, Mr. Wang passed away at the age of 47. His body was cremated by the prison authorities, without his family's consent, on March 29, 2007.
Jilin Prison transported Mr. Wang's remains to Huniugou Funeral Parlor. There was a car with a registration plate with the words "Justice" and a police car with more than a dozen police officers. Present was Liu Zhenyu, deputy head of the Jilin Justice Department, in Jiling Province.

There are old sayings which tell us: "Heaven has eyes" and, "No sin can evade the net of heaven's law." All blood debts will be settled when heaven eliminates the Chinese Communist Party.
In Hebei Province, most practitioners who have been illegally sent to forced labor camps are either in Shijiazhuang City or Baoding City. Labor camps in other locations have already been dissolved.
More than one third of the practitioners detained in Baoding Forced Labor Camp are from Tangshan City, Qinghuangdao City, Langfang City, Chengde City, Cangzhou City, Hengshui City, and other areas. Police at Baoding Forced Labor Camp are utilizing a new kind of electric baton capable of prolonged attacks with 15,000 to 20,000 volts.
Baoding Forced Labor Camp at one time detained almost 2,000 practitioners, but now less than 400 are held there. It has recently established a special team in charge of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, internally called "the special team," but externally it's called "second company." There are thirty-plus male practitioners being detained in the second company. The female company detains about forty-plus female practitioners.
Recently Learned Facts about Baoding Forced Labor Camp
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Xiangwu, an employee of Chengde Power Systems, in May 2006 was transferred from Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp to Baoding Forced Labor Camp. Because he sent letters to the labor camp director and the political committee member explaining what was going on in the camp, under the direction of guard Wang Lei, who was not happy about those letters, Mr. Li Xiangwu was pushed to the ground and tortured by a few criminal inmates with electric batons for half an hour.
Laiyuan County Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Shengli, a graduate from Hebei Agricultural University, was hit in the face by Li Qingwen, an inmate on duty. After that, this inmate was encouraged by guard captain Zhang Zhanqiang, who told him that next time it would be better not to hit any part of the body that could easily be seen. Li Qingwen's family resides at the Baoding power plant dormitory.
Criminal inmates are always encouraged by guards to torture Falun Gong practitioners. One day Li Qingwen beat practitioner Kang Yansu for two hours. Another criminal, Liu Yifan, forced practitioner Pang Guoxing to smoke, otherwise he would be beaten. Practitioner Wang Xin was poked in the legs with needles and was forced into a cold shower in the winter.
Dr. Liu Zhilin, a practitioner employed by Laiyuan County hospital, and a firm believer in Falun Gong, has been locked up, isolated and strictly controlled in the labor camp.
Mr. Lin Shiseng, a former college president, in his sixties and a practitioner from Gaoyang, was not allowed to sleep for five straight days and nights.
Baoding Falun Gong practitioner Yang Jianliang was tied to a bed for 5-6 days. He was also hit with electric batons and force-fed.
When Falun Gong practitioner Tian Gang was first arrested by Beishi District Police Department, he was sentenced to one year in a labor camp. After transferring him to Baoding City Police Department, they tried to force him to kneel down on a mop, but he refused and kicked it away. He was then sentenced to three years in the labor camp, where he was severely tortured with electric batons.
Qingyuan County Falun Gong practitioner Wang Laochou was arrested in March 2005 and sent to a forced labor camp. He was once tortured by guard Liu Yuesheng with an electric baton until he was at the brink of death.
Dingzhou Falun Gong practitioner Wang Chunde was shackled for ten months, from September 2005 to June 2006. When family members came to visit him, he was not allowed to touch them, as he was only permitted to talk to them through a net divider. Each family member had a guard standing behind watching. Every time Falun Gong practitioner's families visited, other company's commanders were called in to help with the monitoring. Family members are always in a situation that they are circled and searched.
"Taking the Blood Test" in Baoding Forced Labor Camp
In December 2005, every Falun Gong practitioner detained in Baoding was given a skin test first and then about 10 milliliters of blood was drawn. A folder was established for each practitioner with charts listing many items, including eyesight.
There was an incident in 2005, where the labor camp was confronting an "important investigation." Guards said that to deal with the investigation would take lots of money. But the labor camp was short on money at the time. In order to solve the problem, they took 200,000 yuan from the "persecuting Falun Gong fund." We have no idea how much this fund really has, but certainly it wouldn't be a small amount. Guards were heard saying that the 610 Office had a special fund for the "persecuting Falun Gong team," but the fund assigned to slave-labor production was comparatively much smaller, only ten thousand yuan in 2004 for a company detaining more than 50 practitioners. This means that guards could torture practitioners as much as they'd like without worrying about hurting them so much that the quota for slave-labor production could not be met.
In 2002 the reward for "transforming" a Falun Gong practitioner was 400 yuan according to one policeman. In October 2003 Hebei Province transferred 12 non-transformed practitioners to a so-called "Hebei breaking solid-practitioners class," in which the reward for "transforming" a practitioner was ten thousand yuan. In May 2004, the 610 Office gave the so-called "breaking the solid" class half a million yuan for expenses and rewards. The guards could not resist the temptation, so they rampantly tortured Falun Gong practitioners.
Persecuting Falun Gong Practitioner Jing Qi
Xu Shui County Falun Gong practitioner Jing Qi was imprisoned in the labor camp beginning in March 2004. For the past few years he has been strictly controlled and isolated, and family members have not been allowed to visit him for twenty months (from November 2004 to August 2006). In order to "transform" him, police coerced his wife to divorce him. On November 26, 2004, the labor camp put out a so-called "exam," the real purpose of which was to force practitioners to slander Master Li. Jing Qi did not answer the questions as required, so he was immediately punished by being forced to stand from eight o'clock in the morning to four o'clock in the afternoon, followed by the police instructor Liu Yuesheng's torturous beating from one end of the corridor to the other and then back. This back and forth beating occurred twenty to thirty times until he was too tired to do it any longer. Jing Qi still firmly said, "I am right, I am not wrong." What Jing Qi said sent Liu Yuesheng into a state of frenzy and he began shocking Jing Qi's body everywhere with an electric baton for more than five minutes, causing his skin to blister. What was even worse was when police officer Song Yahe suggested holding up Jing's clothes so the sound would be muffled. Liu Yuesheng took the suggestion and began applying shocks around the area of the heart for more than one minute. The shocks were 150,000 to 200,000 volts. Jing Qi's heartbeat became faster, endangering his life. Since then his heartbeat became abnormally fast and he vomits after eating. Liu Yusheng said that he was pretending. Ten days later, the camp's doctor Du Baochuan came to check up on him, and two days later he was sent to Baoding City Second Hospital for an emergency medical checkup, including an electro cardiogram, blood tests, and other tests. Jing Qi, during the years 2005 and 2006, was still inhumanly tortured, and he was isolated with no communication with others allowed. In 2005 he was forced to sit on a wooden board without moving for ten hours a day for ninety days.
Since the persecution of Falun Gong started
on July 20,
1999, the following people have been very active in the persecution and
torture
of practitioners:
Yang Zilong, deputy chief of Dongli District Police
Department, policemen Liu Qiang, Ma Yuqi, Chang Wanxin, Lu Yuyou, Sun
Changbao,
and Cui;
Liu
Yonglei, chief of Zhangguizhuang Police Station, deputy chief Liu Qiang
(not the same one as mentioned above), and policemen Han
Junsheng,
Han Ming, Zhang Liyong, and Hu.
In over seven years, an estimated more than 100 practitioners from Dongli District alone have been sentenced to prison terms, forced labor, brainwashing sessions, and other forms of illegal detention.
The following is an account of the persecution that some practitioners from Dongli District, Tianjin City have suffered.
1. Practitioner Ms. Yang Cuilan was sentenced to a six-year prison term in October 2000, to be served in the Tianjin Women's Prison. Due to brutal torture in 2002, she suffered a heart attack and was taken to a hospital. Her family paid over 100,000 yuan to have her released for medical treatment. In June 2006, she was arrested at a fellow practitioner's home by policemen Liu Qiang, Ma Yuqi, and Chang Wanxin. They intended to return her to prison. Ms. Yang suddenly had a heart attack again and was sent to the hospital, where the doctors pronounced her to be in critical condition. She thus avoided further detention.
2. Elderly practitioner Mr. Sun was sentenced to a three-year prison term in 2000. His situation after being released from prison is unknown.
3. Ms. Li Wenjing was sentenced to three years of imprisonment in 2001. Her situation after being released from prison is unknown.
4. Ms. Xu Yongqin was sentenced to five years of imprisonment in 2003. She is still held in the Tianjin Women's Prison.
5. Xu Guoyong was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment, and is still imprisoned.
6. Ms. Dong Guiying was arrested, detained, and locked up in a brainwashing center about nine times between 2000 and 2006 by officers from the Dongli District Police Department and the Zhangguizhuang Police Station. In January 2002, Dongli District Police Department officers Liu Qiang and Ma Yuqi led officers Han Junsheng, Han Ming and others to break into Ms. Dong's residence for the sixth time. Her residence was searched and personal belongings were confiscated. Ms. Dong was sentenced to forced labor for one year.
Ms. Dong was forced to carry heavy beanbags at the Banqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp in Dagang for over a month. As a result, she developed an abdominal lump and was released for medical treatment in April 2002. When she was home recovering from her illness in August 2002, a group of policemen broke into her residence late at night once again. Zhang Liyong was among them. They dragged and pushed her, and took her to the local police station. The policemen were planning to send her back to the labor camp. Ms. Dong told them about the heavenly law--that good is rewarded with good, and evil meets with evil. However, the policemen beat her to the floor, making her stomach hurt so severely that she was motionless. She was sent to the Dongli Chinese Medicine Hospital, where the doctors did not know what to do. Therefore, Ms. Dong was transferred to the Hedong Hospital in Tianjin, where she had surgery. Following surgery, she was diagnosed with second-stage ovarian cancer.
When Ms. Dong was hospitalized, officials from the district police department and the labor camp sent some labor camp guards to the hospital to interrupt the treatment. The doctors there told the guards that she had only about half a year to live. Hearing this, the guards left. Ms. Dong, however, did not stop practicing Falun Gong after leaving the hospital and her physical condition improved.
In 2004, Ms. Dong was arrested for the eighth time. Because she suffered from a terminal illness, she was released. The guards and government authorities persecuted not only her, but also her family members. One day in June 2006, Ms. Dong's son Li Jie (a non-practitioner) was intoxicated on the road on his way home from work. Someone reported this to the police and Zhangguizhuang Police Station sent some officers to take him to the Duzhuangzi Police Station. At about 6:00 p.m. the next evening, they informed Ms. Dong's family and framed her son for assaulting policemen and vandalizing police cars. Duzhuangzi Police Station officials informed the Dongli Police Department to detain Li Jiu for five days. He was held at Xiqing District Caozhuangzi Detention Center in Tianjin and was also fined 1,000 yuan.
Five days later, Ms. Dong's son returned home. The brutal beatings at the hands of the police left many injuries on his body. The policemen said that they had beaten him because his mother was a Falun Gong practitioner. About ten days later, on June 20, 2006, officers Liu Qiang, Ma Yuqi, and Cheng Wanxin went to Li Jiu's work unit, took him home, and forced him to open the door. Six practitioners were studying the Fa in Ms. Dong's residence and were arrested. The residence was searched again. In addition, the policemen took some pictures to falsify evidence at the scene. Afterwards, three of the practitioners were sentenced to forced labor.
Ms. Dong Guiying was arrested and put in prison, where she held a hunger strike for over 40 days. After that, the cancer recurred and she had a big lump in her stomach. Her husband (a non-practitioner) went to the district police department several times to request her release and he showed them the diagnosis statement about her cancer. Ms. Dong was finally released after more than two months of imprisonment, but her family was extorted of 5,000 yuan as "bail."
7. In March 2000, Ms. Yang Yuting and her mother Ms. Zhang Junying went to Beijing to appeal. They were detained for 15 days. Police officers Han Ming and Han Junsheng, and district police department officers Liu Qiang, Ma Yuqi and Lu Yuyou harassed them several times at their residence. Ms. Yang's husband (a non-practitioner) left home because of the frequent harassment and has not returned.
In June 2000, some local policemen and personnel from the Zhangguizhuang neighborhood committee arrested Ms. Yang, her mother and her six-year-old daughter Meng Fei, and detained them in a brainwashing center. Ms. Yang was later sentenced to one year of forced labor because she refused to give up her belief in Falun Gong. Her mother was not sentenced this time because she was the only one who could take care of Meng Fei
In 2001, one month after Ms. Yang returned home, her mother was sentenced to two years of forced labor. Ms. Yang's husband left home, leaving her and her daughter without any income. Officers from the district police department and the police station and personnel from the neighborhood committee frequently harassed them. One day when the practitioners were out, the officers broke down their metal door and entered their residence. They left when they failed to find anything they wanted.
In 2004, Ms. Yang was arrested for the sixth time and sentenced to two years of forced labor. She was first held in the Dongli Detention Center, where she held a hunger strike for 22 days. After that, she was transferred to the Banqiao Forced Labor Camp, where she was diagnosed with kidney failure and then uremia (a toxic condition resulting from renal failure). The doctors said that she had only a few days to live. Banqiao Forced Labor Camp officials would not admit her, so she was released. However, the policemen never stopped harassing Ms. Yang and her family. Her mother sold their house to use the money to treat her illnesses, and they had to move into the home of a relative. The policemen then followed them to that home and threatened the relative, who was then too scared to help them. Ms. Yang's daughter had to withdraw from school and the three of them became destitute and homeless. Their current whereabouts are unknown.
8. Ms. Wang Jingxiang was arrested six times. Her residence has been searched, and she has been detained in forced labor camps three times. In 2000, she was sentenced to forced labor for the first time. In November 2001, she was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor, which was extended by an extra year. She was released after two and a half years. While she was in the labor camp, her husband sold their house and divorced her. Her daughter became homeless, so her aunt took her in. Ms. Wang often vomited blood in the labor camp due to the torture she suffered. In June 2006, she was sentenced to forced labor again and is still imprisoned in the Banqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp.
9. Ms. Liu Yanping used to work at the Tianjin Airport and was a cadre. Because she refused to stop practicing Falun Gong, she was sentenced to forced labor three times by officers from the Dongli District Police Department. She was fired by the work unit and her husband divorced her. She is still imprisoned in the Banqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp.
10. Ms. Zhang Zhihong has been arrested numerous times and her residence has been ransacked several times as well. In January 2004, she was sentenced to forced labor for the second time and detained in the Banqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp. Her 70-year-old, physically weak father missed his youngest daughter. He asked Ms. Zhang's two sisters to take him in his wheelchair to the police station to request her release. However, the policemen there did not respond to their request; instead, they recorded them on video to intimidate them. Ms. Zhang's father was heart broken and passed away a few days later. In addition, her over 60-year-old in-laws were extremely saddened by the fact that she was once again sentenced to forced labor. They passed away consecutively within a year. When Ms. Zhang's term was over in 2006, the guards still would not release her because she refused to give up practicing Falun Gong.
11. Mr. Zhang Ziwen, his wife Liu Yuhong, and their son Zhang Ximing are all practitioners. In 2000 they left home and became destitute for two years to avoid being sent to a brainwashing center. Policemen Liu Qiang, Ma Yuqi and Chang Wenxin issued warrants for their arrest. They monitored cell phone conversations and sent undercover police officers to monitor their neighborhood. In October 2002, Mr. Zhang and Ms. Liu were shopping for winter clothes. Officers arrested them at a railway station and went to search Mr. Zhang's rented apartment. Their son was arrested at home. All three of them were sentenced to three years of forced labor. Mr. Zhang Ziwen was imprisoned at the Tianjin Forced Labor Camp, Ms. Liu was imprisoned in the Banqiao Forced Labor Camp, and Zhang Ximing was imprisoned at the Tuanbo Forced Labor Camp in Tianjin.
12. Ms. Wu Kexin's residence was ransacked and her personal belongings were confiscated. Afterwards, the same policemen who ransacked her home (Han Junsheng, Lu Yuyou, and others) imprisoned her 19-year-old daughter Ma Weiwei in the Zhangguizhuang Police Station. Ms. Wu was secretly interrogated, and her daughter was thrown out of the police station in the middle of the night and left alone on the street. Ms. Wu was released at noon the next day. The policemen planned to have her working for them as a spy so that they could arrest more practitioners. Ms. Wu did not want to work for the police, so her whole family had to move to Hedong District. Yet, the policemen still found them. On September 2, 2002, when Ms. Wu was seeing some visitors off, she was arrested by the policemen who had been hiding around her residence. Led by Lu Yuyou, about five or six policemen arrested her. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor and imprisoned in Banqiao Forced Labor Camp.
13. In July 2006, policemen Ma Yuqi and Liu Qiang from the district police department once again arrested Tan Hongjun and Zhou Lan. They were both sentenced to forced labor, and are currently detained in Banqiao Forced Labor Camp.
Liu Fen, Wang Zongfeng, Sun Yumei, Chen Jinhua, and Xu Guizhen have all been arrested at least twice by officers Liu Qiang, Ma Yuqi, and Chang Wenxin from the district police department.
In the seven years of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, policemen from Dongli District Police Department and the various local police stations have committed unpardonable crimes. They have broken up numerous families and detained many Falun Gong practitioners.
