Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)
started the
persecution of Falun Gong, several teachers in the 52nd Middle School
in Changchun City have suffered due to their beliefs. They were illegally
arrested, severely tortured, sentenced to forced labor, etc. Since
they did not write the "guarantee
statement" to renounce Falun Gong, they were not
allowed to
teach. They were put
under house arrest and were even threatened with being sent to
prison. The
persecution has forced the teachers to leave their homes for several
years in
order to avoid further persecution. Their wages have been withheld by
the school
leaders. In the meantime, Erdao District 610 Office,
Erdao
Police Station, the Education Bureau, and the school leaders have often
led
police to the teachers' homes to arrest them.
In late 2006, the school's communist party secretary, Guo Junying, informed these teachers that they had to report to school, claiming that they would otherwise need to bear the consequences by themselves. In late December, the teachers went to the school but they were unable to see Guo, who was busy in a performance rehearsal. Two days later, the teachers went to the school again. Once they sat down, Guo said, "You are fired, because you have not come to work for over two weeks." He also pretentiously showed them the so-called "regulation document."
The teachers said, "This regulation does not apply to us, because it is the school that does not allow us to come to work." They recounted the mistreatment and the bitter lives they had led over the past several years. They stated that to work, one of the teachers had spent one month appealing to the school leaders, but the leaders had shirked their responsibilities. The teacher was even shut outside the door by the leaders during one visit. When she went to appeal again, she was clearly told, "Without writing the letter of 'break away' (from Falun Gong), you will not be allowed to come to work."
Given these indisputable facts, Guo had nothing to say. He just said
in an
evasive way, "I do not care about other things. I just follow the upper
government's order."
During the conversation Guo often picked up his
cell
phone and went out of his office to make calls. Guo Junying went so far
as to
collaborate with the Erdao 610 Office and Erdao Police Department in
setting up
a trap, aiming to lure teachers to the school in order to arrest them.
For
several years, the teachers had already known about the school leaders'
trick,
that is, they deceived the Falun Gong practitioners into going to
school, and
then arrested them.
At 9:00 a.m. on March 13, 2007, the National Security Team of Kuiwen District Police Department in Weifang City, as well as Dongguan Police Station and the Resident's Committee of Youyi Neighborhood, arrested Mr. Li Gang, a Falun Gong practitioner living in Nanyuan Community, Dongguan Street, Kuiwen District, Weifang City, Shangdong Province. His home was also ransacked. Mr. Li is now being detained in Weifang City Detention Center.
According to an eyewitness, at around 9:00 a.m. on March 13, Mr. Li Gang left his residence and walked to a garden near the community entrance. A group of police officers dressed in civilian clothes surrounded Mr. Li and proceeded to beat him. People who were watching tried to stop the beating without success. Mr. Li refused to cooperate with the officers, and as he was being beaten he shouted loudly, "Falun Gong is good!" The officers pushed Mr. Li to the ground, handcuffed him and took him to Dongguan Police Station.
At about 10:00 a.m., police officers confiscated the key to Mr. Li's house and proceeded to trespass into his home with the intention of stealing. Mr. Li's family members were present and they strongly objected. The officers just ignored them and confiscated all Falun Gong books and pictures of Master Li. They also broke into drawers to steal money and threatened to take all the money that was there. The family members managed to take back a bankbook from the trespassers.
Mr. Li Gang is 29 years old. His father is ill with hemiplegia and cannot take care of himself. Mr. Li's child is only 100 days old. His wife stays at home to take care of both the elderly man and the child.
Mr. Li's family members went to Dongguan Police Station. The police there acknowledged that Mr. Li had been arrested, but placed the responsibility of his arrest on the National Security Team of Kuiwen District Police Department. The family then went to the team office to request Mr. Li's release. The officers claimed that he had broken the law by practicing Falun Gong and was being detained in Weifang City Detention Center. The officers would not listen to the family members' protests and forced them to leave.
The family members then went to Weifang City Detention Center to ask
for Mr.
Li's release. The guards did not allow them to see him and claimed,
"This
place is only a warehouse. Regardless of whether a person is good or
bad, we
just detain them as long as the superior
levels want them
held, and release detainees upon their command."
On March 7, 2007, practitioners Mr. Tao Fu and Mr. Shi Lagen from Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, were arrested by police. That night, one of the truth-clarification materials production sites was ransacked. Practitioner Mr. Tu Guohuan and his wife were arrested at their home. Their computer, printer, CD player, motorcycle, and many Falun Gong truth-clarification materials were confiscated. Recently, a few more practitioners whose names are not known have been arrested in Nanchang City. At present, Mr. Shi Lagen is being detained and tortured in the No. 1 Detention Center in Nanchang City.
According to insiders, officers at the detention center boasted that they would beat Mr. Shi to death and force him to reveal the identity of more practitioners. At least nine practitioners have been arrested since. One of Mr. Shi Lagen's ribs was broken from a beating. Mr. Wei Qiang was beaten until he was bleeding from his eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. Another practitioner was beaten to unconsciousness.
The Public Security Department has said that the authorities have secretly ordered the complete disintegration of Falun Gong before the 2008 Olympic Games, and an increase in the degree of persecution. Several truth-clarification materials production sites have been destroyed.
In July 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Guo Jinfu was arrested and held at an undisclosed location. We have recently received information that Guo Jinfu was secretly tried and sentenced to three years in prison on December 20, 2006 in Shanghai. The people responsible for this sentencing are those who are still closely following the Falun Gong persecution policy. Mr. Guo's family was not informed of the trial when it happened. It is now known that Guo Jinfu has been sent to the Qingdong Forced Labor Camp and is still being persecuted. The following are details about this practitioner:
Mr. Guo Jinfu was born in 1963 and registered at No. 33 Gaojiabang, Caobao Road, Shanghai. He lived at Room 3-301, Lane 118, Jiuting Street, Shongjiang District, Shanghai. He was arrested and sentenced two and a-half years of forced labor in October 2001 for distributing truth-clarifying information. His wife Chen Wenying has been sentenced to forced labor as well. She suffered a mental collapse as a result of being subjected to persecution in the Shanghai Qingpu Women's Forced Labor Camp.
The police patrollers arrested Mr. Guo on the evening on July 6,
2006.
It
happened when Guo Jinfu was placing video CD copies of the Nine
Commentaries on the Communist Party into shopping baskets
hanging in
front of parked bicycles along Huashan Road, at the Xujiahui Shopping
Center.
The lawless people also claimed that Guo Jinfu wrote Falun Gong phrases
on 10
yuan
bills. He was charged with the crime of "obstructing law
implementation."
The defense lawyer Ye Zhuying , who was assigned by the Chinese Communist Party authorities, collaborated with the CCP court. He even claimed, "No objection to the prosecutor's charge..."
