  • Tears at a Time for Family Reunions - On Behalf of Helpless Falun Gong Orphans

The Chinese New Year is here, a time when families reunite. There are a group of children however who were separated from their parents after the wicked Chinese Communist Party started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, making these innocents suffer at a young age. While other children enjoy their doting parents, these children shed tears and think of their parents, who will never return to their side.

They are orphans whose parents died from the persecution of Falun Gong at the hands of Jiang Zemin and his accomplices, for persisting in their practice of Falun Gong and in the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Many are young and delicate, helpless and struggling in this world.

Father Shao Hui Died from Persecution, Mother Mu Ping Facing Illegal Trial, Young Son Shao Linyao Knows Nothing about his Parents' Plight

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Shao Hui from Huadian died as a result of persecution in Jilin City in August 2002. Even now, his son Shao Linyao doesn't know that his father was murdered. Shao Linyao had a joyless childhood as he lived through the police repeatedly arresting his parents. He endured loneliness, helplessness, fear and worry from a young age.

    Shao Linyao

When his mother Mu Ping was released from a labor camp on medical parole after nearly three years of persecution, Shao Linyao followed her everywhere because he was afraid of losing her again. He never slept at night until his mother returned home, no matter how late. He would sit up and wait for his mother. When his mother told him that he must go to bed early as he had to go to school the next day he said with tears in his eyes, "I'm afraid the bad people will take you away if you go out. I can't calm down when you are not home."

National Security officials in Jilin City arrested Mu Ping at work on October 24, 2006. They ransacked Mu Ping's home, along with officers from Mengjiatun Police Station in Changchun City. They took computers, cash, a 70,000 yuan bank deposit slip, Falun Gong books and truth clarification VCDs. They took Mu Ping to Room 608 at the Jilin City Detention Center, where she has been held for the past three and a half months. Chuanying District Court in Jilin City is planning to illegally try Mu Ping.

Eleven-year-old Shao Linyao and his grandparents, who are currently taking care of him, knew nothing about what had happened to Shao's mother, Mu Ping. Mu Ping previously had called her son every two weeks or once a month, but she has not called in the past three months. Shao Linyao often cries secretly under his bedcovers because he hasn't heard from his mother. When his grandparents tell him, "We haven't heard anything from your mom," he tries to comfort them and says, "Don't worry about it. Maybe they are arresting lots of people right now. My mother is probably hiding somewhere."

Shao Linyao has been living with his grandparents since his mother's arrest, but his grandparents are suffering from deteriorating health, which makes his life difficult. Shao Linyao's grandfather is 76 years old and underwent two glaucoma and cataract surgeries. He nearly lost all of his eyesight from constantly worrying about his son Shao Hui. His grandmother is 69 years old, has been sick for the past six months, and is receiving injections.

Shao Linyao's grandmother is worried about who would take care of her husband and grandson when she passes away. Even now, they do not know about the death of Shao Hui and they do not know Mu Ping is facing trial. Shao Linyao's grandmother often says, "Our family has suffered too much during the persecution. My daughter Shao Ling was sentenced to 12 years in prison. My son Shao Hui has disappeared for five or six years. Mu Ping used to call home once a month, but now we never hear from her." She cries as she says these things. She cannot remember her own age, but she clearly remembers the day when Shao Ling was illegally arrested and the day when Shao Hui broke free from the labor camp. The old couple can no longer take care of themselves, not to mention taking care of their grandson Shao Linyao.

Grandmother and Father Died from Persecution, Mother Sick from Cancer, Xu Shuai Living a Difficult Life

Falun Gong practitioner Xu Weidong's son: Xu Shuai

Xu Shuai is now 16 years old. His mother left the family and remarried when he was young because of the family poverty. Xu Shuai grew up with his father and grandmother. When he was six years old he practiced Falun Gong with his father and grandmother and often went to read Falun Gong books and share experiences. He also went to practice sites to do the Falun Gong exercises with other practitioners. After the Party started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, the police and street Party officials frequently harassed his family at their home. They also arrested and sent them to detention centers and labor camps, which traumatized young Xu Shuai.

Xu Shuai lost his grandparents, one uncle and his father during the seven-year Falun Gong persecution. Currently, Xu Shuai's other uncle and aunt are taking care of him. His uncle has a low income however, and he can no longer afford the daily expenses of taking care of Xu Shuai. His aunt's home has only one room, and his aunt's husband no longer lets Xu Shuai stay with them. Xu Shuai used to be a good student, but his grades dropped because he is worried about his life.

Mother Died in Persecution, Pu Yonghe's Grandmother Works 11 Hours a Day To Pay for His Education

<>Falun Gong practitioner Cui Zhengshu from Jilin City was sent to labor camp(s) twice. The guards at Heizuizi Labor Camp ordered inmates to deprive her of sleep for more than 30 days. She managed to sleep only 22 hours in 33 days. Please refer to article "Commemorating Fellow Practitioner Ms. Cui Zhengshu" at /emh/articles/2003/9/8/40022p.html.

The labor camp authorities sent her home on medical parole on April 18, 2003, when she was extremely weak and could not eat or take care of herself. Her condition worsened in early August 2003 and she passed away on August 12, 2003.

Thirteen year-old Piao Yonghe lost his mother. His grandmother took care of him. His 73-year-old grandmother works 11 hours a day to make 400 yuan per month. She doesn't have much time to take care of Piao Yonghe and is often forced to leave him alone at home.

Wang Zilin Disappeared more than Six Years Ago, His Daughter's Biggest Wish is for her Father to Appear in Front of Her

    Wang Zilin

Falun Gong practitioner Wang Zilin worked at Jiangbei Forestry Farm in Jilin City. He started practicing Falun Gong in May 1997 and went to Beijing to peacefully appeal on November 19, 2000. He never came home, and no one heard from him. His family went to Beijing twice looking for him, but they couldn't get any information.

Wang Zilin's daughter Wang Lili is 16 years old and is mature for her age. She often comforts her mother, knowing her mother is in poor health. Her mother does temporary jobs to make 400 yuan per month. She suffers from herniated lower spinal discs. Sometimes she goes to work with a steel rod fixed to her back in order not to lose her job. Wang Lili told a Falun Gong practitioner who went to visit her, "I feel like I see my father when I look at you." She cried. Sometimes the mother and daughter cry when life becomes exceedingly difficult. Her biggest wish is for her beloved father to appear in front of her some day!

Mother Mu Chunmei Detained, 15-year-old Liu Zhonghao Takes Care of Grandmother

Falun Gong practitioner Mu Chunmei was arrested in March 2006 and was later held at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, where she was tortured in various ways. Her family asked to meet with her many times, but the guards refused. Her son Liu Zhonghao is 15 years old, but his eyes are filled with sadness. Liu Zhonghao lived with his grandparents after his mother was arrested. They could barely survive on Liu Zhonghao grandfather's salary, but his grandfather passed away three months ago, and Liu Zhonghao lost his only source of support. Liu Zhonghao once ran a great distance into the mountains and cried in front of his grandfather's grave because he missed his grandfather and mother.

Liu Zhonghao is now living with his grandmother who cannot walk due to rheumatoid arthritis. He does house chores and takes care of his grandmother. They are living on his grandfather's ten-month pension, but they don't know what they will do after the ten month pension runs out. Liu Zhonghao wants to see his mother at the Masanjia Labor Camp, but he is worried about his grandmother should he go to the labor camp. When someone mentioned his mother, he covered his face and sobbed.

Mr. Chang Yongfu Died as a Result of Tortures in Labor Camp and Mental Hospital

His family took Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chang Yongfu from Mulan County, Heilongjiang Province home around 5:00 a.m. on January 18, 2007. He had been at the Puning Mental Hospital in Jiangbei, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. He passed away later as a result of brutal tortures he suffered at the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City and at two mental hospitals. He bled from both ears and the corners of his eyes. His nasal cavities contained congealed blood. Blood was found inside his mouth.

Falun Gong practitioner Chang Yongfu never used to be sick. Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp officials had sent him to the Mulan County 610 Office in order to avoid responsibility, and the "610 Office" in turn admitted him into Dongxing Town Mental Hospital where he was injected with unknown drugs. The hospital authorities told his family to take him home after the drugs started to take effect. Chang Yongfu passed away at home. Following are details:

Chang Yongfu was 44 years old and lived in Mulan County, Heilongjiang Province. He posted and distributed various Falun Gong materials on July 26, 2004. Officers Jiang Yan, Er Jinzi and others from the 1st Police Station in Mulan County broke into his home, arrested him and sent him to the notorious Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City. Guards and inmates beat him savagely many times, and he suffered a nervous breakdown.

The main officials at the labor camp, including those from the Brainwashing Section, the Control Section and a few guards handpicked from all groups, gathered in Group 4. Some of them carried electric batons and wore Sam Browne belts [wide leather belts, was named after General Sir Samuel J. Browne, 1824-1901, of the British Army in India] Wang Yuou, head of the Education Section gave a speech to announce the reorganization of Group 4, followed by guard Niu Tiejun, who led a "study" of labor camp policies. In the middle of the group reading, the officials suddenly claimed someone's voice was too low. They ordered the inmates to drag 12 Falun Gong practitioners including Yao Shiguo, Chang Yongfu, Na Zhenxian, and He Qinghui into a room they had prepared beforehand and brutally beat and threatened them. Some practitioners were severely bruised, some were disabled and later on couldn't straighten their backs. Practitioner He Qinghui was beaten until he suffered a skull fracture, exposing his brain. He became a "vegetable." Na Zhenxian was tortured to death on September 16, 2005.

Camp officials claimed Falun Gong practitioner Chang Yongfu had mental disorders and sent him to the Mulan County "610 Office." The agents from the "610 Office" secretly took him to the Dongxing Town Mental Hospital in Mulan County. Some time later they transferred him to the Puning Mental Hospital in Jiangbei, Harbin City where they gave him injections against his will.

The hospital authorities told Chang Yongfu's sister to secretly take him home in October 2006. Chang Yongfu had suffered a nervous breakdown. His nose was swollen and his eyesight was weak. He developed insomnia and screamed gibberish. During lucid moments he said he didn't know what drugs were used on him. His whole body felt terrible; his nose, head and eyes hurt terribly. He bled constantly from his nose and he eventually became blind in both eyes.

After Chang Yongfu's death his two sisters went to the Mulan County "610 Office." The "610 Office" agents spoke with the Civil Administration Bureau officials and told the family to secretly take Chang Yongfu's body to a crematory.

Practitioners Who Were Government Officials Persecuted in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province

Since the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist regime has subjected Falun Gong practitioners to a variety of persecution, including firing them from their jobs, imprisonment or terms in forced labor camps, and even outright murder. The following are accounts of the persecution against some practitioners who are government officials in Guangzhou City.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Xueqin is in her sixties and lived in Tianhe District, Guangdong Province. She is a retired official from the Guangdong Province Traffic Bureau. Officials from her former workplace had arrested and taken her to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center, where she was savagely tortured. Oftentimes a group of people would brainwash her with wicked Party ideology that slanders Falun Gong. They would force her to stand for several days and nights without sleep in an attempt to "reform" her and make her renounce her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance when she became delirious from lack of sleep. She died as a result of the torture in September or October of 2002. A volunteer correspondent from the Minghui/Clearwisdom website asked the Retired Cadres Division at the Guangdong Province Traffic Bureau and personnel at the Guangdong Province 610 Office about Yang Xueqin's death and received two contradictory answers.

According to an official at the Retired Cadres Division of the Guangdong Province Traffic Bureau, Yang Xueqin "died between September and October from a sudden cerebral problem," while a male official at the Guangdong Province 610 Office stated, "Yang Xueqin died from a hunger strike. It was too late when she was rushed to the hospital." He also said that Yang Xueqin was not arrested but instead that her workplace officials had sent her to a "Legal Education Class." The 610 Office agent did not explain, however, why Yang Xueqin would go on a hunger strike if she was only going to a "legal education class," nor did he explain why it was too late to save the life of an otherwise healthy woman on a hunger strike.

Mr. Li Liansheng, around 50 years old, was the deputy head of the Guangdong Province Organizational Department, and former secretary of the CCP Working Committee. He was a division-level officer at the Medical Research Institute in Guangzhou Military Region and was transferred to work for the Guangdong Province government in late 1999. The officials from the military unit where he had previously worked tried many times to fabricate slander to incriminate him. The military officials sent documents to Guangdong government, but the documents were rejected and returned. Li Liansheng clarified the truth to his colleagues and distributed the truth clarification materials and copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party within the government compound. He was reported, and Li Qiongyang and others from Guangdong Province 610 Office arrested and secretly sentenced him to prison. They took him to another province, where he was incarcerated to avoid public outrage. They tried their best to block information on Li Liansheng's arrest and imprisonment.

Mr. Wang Zhongcheng, 50 years old, was the head of Fangcun District Culture Bureau in Guangzhou. He went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in 2000 and delivered a letter of appeal to Zhongnanhai, the central government's senior leadership compound. The officers from the Ministry of Public Security and from the Guangzhou City Liaison Office in Beijing beat him many times. According to witnesses, the beatings were so brutal that they could almost not bear to watch. Wang Zhongcheng was secretly sentenced to two years of forced labor and held in the Chini Forced Labor Camp in Huadu, Guangzhou City for brainwashing. He was also forced to work about 15 hours each day.

The agents from Fangcun District 610 Office broke into Wang Zhongcheng's home in late 2004, arrested him and his wife, ransacked their home and took computers, printers, and Falun Gong materials. They sent the couple to Fangcun District Detention Center. On September 12, 2005, Fangcun District Court officials sentenced Wang Zhongcheng and his wife to eight years and seven years in prison, respectively. Wang Zhongcheng was detained at the Sihui Prison, where he was brutally tortured, and his wife Liu Ling was held at the Guangdong Women's Prison.

Practitioner Liu, in his sixties, was a deputy minister in the Guangdong Province government. Like many others, he benefited physically and mentally from Falun Gong practice and all of his illnesses disappeared. Mr. Liu is honest and hardworking and conducted himself according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, treating his subordinates and constituents with kindness. He was well respected by the people. After starting Falun Gong practice, Mr. Liu spared no effort to inform others about how wonderful it was.

After 1999, he and his family suffered brutal persecution for persisting in their beliefs. Mr. Liu endured tremendous pressure and passed away from illness. His sister Liu Huaiying was held in a forced labor camp for two years, his nephew Zhu Rencheng was sentenced to four years in prison and is currently being held at the Sihui Prison, and his nephew Zhu Rencheng's wife was held in a forced labor camp for two years. Liu's niece Zhu Yuhong was sentenced to 13 years in prison and is incarcerated at the Guangdong Women's Prison. Her husband Shi Huiwen was sentenced to four years in prison and is being held at the Sihui Prison.

Ms. Fan Funan is in her sixties and was a division-level official in the Guangdong Provincial government. Falun Gong practice cured her of many illnesses, and she was energetic and refreshed. She practiced Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance and was honest and industrious. She purged her division of corruption and inappropriate practices and received tremendous support and respect from other officials and the public. The Guangdong Provincial government had decided to promote her in 1999 for her outstanding achievements and abilities. After the Party started persecuting Falun Gong however, agents from the Guangdong Province 610 Office pressured her many times to give up her belief, but she firmly resisted. Her promotion was canceled, and she was forced into early retirement.

Mr. Liu Fengyi was in his fifties and was the head of the Guangdong Province Organizational Department. He benefited physically and mentally from Falun Gong practice and told many people about Falun Gong, leading some officials at the Organizational Department to also practice Falun Gong. There was a large practice site inside the government residential compound. Many government officials' family members practiced Falun Gong there every morning. After July 20, 1999, the Party deprived Falun Gong practitioners of their right to practice the exercises and lead their lives according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Liu Fengyi received pressure and threats directly from the central government. He later passed away from illness arising from the abuse he endured.

Ms. Han Yuejuan, 47, is a graduate of Sun Yat-Sen University. She was the head of the Ideology Section at the propaganda department in Dongshan District, Guangzhou. She is the widow of a United Nations worker who died during a peacekeeping mission. After July 20, 1999, the Guangdong police saw Han Yuejuan as an "important" Falun Gong practitioner and secretly held her inside a building on Penglai Street, Dezheng Road in Guangzhou City for 83 days. After she returned to work, the police constantly monitored and followed her, and police cars were posted outside her home. As the persecution escalated, she was demoted to a position of custodian and was responsible for making tea and doing odd jobs. Ms. Han was later transferred from the Propaganda Department to the Environmental Protection Bureau. Prior to January 1, 2001, the police watched her around the clock, and she left home to avoid possible arrest. The Guangdong police posted a 90,000 yuan award for her capture. Ms. Han was arrested on June 7 or June 8 of 2001 at her temporary residence at Yifangyuan in Xilang, Fangcun in Guangzhou. The police broke in and took her away, and held her at a detention center in Longdong of the Wushan District for two years, during which time she was denied family visits and legal representation. Ms. Han was later sentenced to seven years in prison and held at the Guangzhou City Women's Prison.

During the CCP-sanctioned court hearing, when the judge asked her about her understanding of Falun Gong, she said in a loud and clear voice three times, "Falun Dafa is good!" The Guangzhou City court then punitively extended her original four-year sentence by three years. The reason given was that Han Yuejuan said "Falun Dafa is good" three times, so each one resulted in an extra year. This is a clear example of the complete lack of legal legitimacy in the persecution of Falun Gong.

In spite of the persecution, Ms. Han Yuejuan persisted in Falun Gong practice at the Guangzhou City Women's Prison. She was savagely tortured and was forced to stand for 24-hour increments without sleep, and was made to do hard labor and work more than 12 hours each day.

Ms. Li Guoe was an official at the Guangdong Province Organizational Department. She is in her forties and had suffered from numerous illnesses before practicing Falun Gong. These illnesses prevented her from working a regular schedule. All of her illnesses disappeared, however, after she practiced Falun Gong, and she became healthy and energetic. After July 20, 1999, the Guangdong Province Party Committee coerced her family to persecute her. She was compelled to stay home while her family watched her every move and severed her connections with the outside world for one year. She also received direct threats and pressure from the government. Because she persisted in Falun Gong practice, Guangdong Province 610 Office agents Li Qiongyang and others took Ms. Li Guoe to the Guangzhou Legal Education Base, a brainwashing center, where they savagely abused her both physically and mentally. They subjected her to sleep deprivation, flooded her with propaganda, encouraged her family to pressure her, and force-fed her through her nose. They used a hard, thick tube taken from a gas tank and inserted it through her nose into her stomach. They purposely pulled the tube back and forth to increase her pain. Her esophagus started bleeding as a result of this. They put chopsticks and metal rods across her mouth and pressed down firmly, which caused the corners of her mouth to crack and bleed. Li Guoe's teeth became loose after the feedings, and she could not eat or drink normally. She eventually broke free, but was still closely monitored and does not have any personal freedom.

Mr. Lin Tianci, 40, was a former section head at a branch office at the audit commission in Guangzhou City, who lived in Tianhe District. Another Falun Gong practitioner took truth clarification materials to his home on the evening of January 20, 2001, when he had just returned from a business trip. Again he was arrested and detained by officers from Tangxia Police Department in Guangzhou City, including Chen Huanbin. Before January 1, 2001, his wife Zeng Yanhui went to her hometown, and police officer Chen Huanbin constantly prodded Lin Tianci for his wife's whereabouts. Lin Tianci refused to tell him, and Chen Huanbin eventually found out and notified the local police in Shijiazhuang to harass his wife at her mother's home frequently. Zeng Yanhui left home to avoid the harassment and avoid bringing further pressure upon her family.

In early June 2001, Lin Tianci was arrested at work by Chen Huanbin and several other officers from the Tangxia Police Department, and he was taken to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center in Guangdong Province and was not released until late September 2001. The same group of police officers arrested him at work again in late November 2001 and took him back to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center. He firmly refused to give up his belief and was sent to the 1st Forced Labor Camp of Guangzhou City in Chini Town, Huadu City, Guangdong Province to be held for two years. He was also stripped of his title as a section head.

Mr. Zhu Jianping is in his fifties and was a former division head at Guangdong Province Agriculture Department. He started practicing Falun Gong in 1994, and he benefited physically and mentally from the practice. He conducted himself according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance at all times. He was honest and never took bribes. He devoted himself to serving people and was well-liked and respected. He received the title of "Advanced Worker" several times. After 1999, he was arrested by Guangdong Province 610 Office agents for persisting in his belief, and he was taken to a legal education base in Dongshan District for brainwashing. He was subsequently held at Dongshan District Detention Center for 15 days under administrative detention. Soon after he went home, he was forced to retire early and was stripped of the benefits of a former division head.

Mr. Wu Ding, in his forties, was a former section head at the Guangdong Province Agriculture Department. After he practiced Falun Gong, he worked diligently and never took bribes. He was well respected by his subordinates. After the persecution against Falun Gong began, he refused to give up his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. As a result, he was arrested by Guangdong Province 610 Office agents and taken to a legal education base in Dongshan District. He was removed from his post as a section head.

Mr. Li Qiongguang is in his fifties and lived in Guangzhou City. He was a driver working for the Guangzhou City Government, and he worked tirelessly after practicing Falun Gong, as he conducted himself according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. He was reported in September 2005 when copying truth clarification materials. He was fired and later arrested between September 2005 and early 2006 by Guangzhou City 610 Office. He was taken to a legal education base in Guangzhou City for brainwashing.

Ms. Peng Lin is in her thirties and worked at a foreign-owned company in Guangzhou City. She persisted in Falun Gong practice and was arrested by the Guangzhou City 610 Office in 2002. She was taken to Huangpu Legal Education Base in Guangzhou City for brainwashing. The police at the brainwashing center tortured her by depriving her of sleep for long periods of time, savagely beating her and bombarding her with slanderous theories attacking Falun Gong. She resisted the persecution with her righteous belief.

Ms. Xu Hongxia, 31, lived in Tianhe District. She has a Teacher's degree in child psychology and was a cadre at the Guangdong Province Women's Association. She was arrested in November 1999 when appealing in Beijing, and she was held at the Tangxia Detention Center of the Tianhe Police Department for 15 days. Several days after being released, she went to Luo Muluan's home for a meal, and a group of people including Cheng Wenhu and Li Jianhui, a woman from the Tianhe 610 Office, and some officers from Shipaijie Police Department arrested her. She was later sentenced to two years of forced labor. She was held at the Chatou Labor Camp in Guangzhou City, where she was subjected to brainwashing.

Wang Bo and Her Parents Illegally Sentenced to Four and Five Years in Prison

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Bo from Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province was falsely charged with "using a cult organization to disrupt the administration of law" and was illegally sentenced to five years in prison by the Chinese Communist government in early February 2007. Her father Wang Xinzhong and mother Liu Shuqin were equally charged, and each was sentenced to four years in prison.

    Wang Bo

Wang Bo and her parents started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, and harmony was restored in her nearly broken family. In 1999, 18-year-old Wang Bo was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music. The persecution began later that same year. Subsequently, Wang Bo and her parents were deprived of personal freedom for persisting in their beliefs and speaking the truth about Falun Gong. Wang Bo was illegally sentenced to forced labor in late 2000 for clarifying the truth. She was sent to Xinan Labor Camp in early 2001 by the authorities of Shijiazhuang Labor Camp and became the youngest detainee there, and was brutally tortured and deprived of sleep for a very long time. She was later held at the Hebei Capital Legal Education Center for brainwashing. The CCTV [Central China Television] program Focal Point Interview broadcast a deceptive show regarding Wang Bo and her family. The Party mouthpiece Xinhua News Agency and other media spread lies to brainwash the public. During the three years when Wang Bo returned to school to study, agents from the 610 Office assigned a woman officer to "accompany" Wang Bo, amounting to around the clock surveillance and control.

The most recent arrest took place on the evening of July 27, 2006, when the police climbed over a wall and barged into Wang Bo and her parents' temporary residence in Dalian City, Liaoning Province. They arrested Wang Bo and her mother, who were in their under garments. Wang Bo's father Wang Xinzhong was at work. They arrested him the next morning. Officers from the Political Security Division of Shijiazhuang City Police Department had waited outside their home for several days prior to the arrest.

This arrest took place after Wang Bo and Wang Xinzhong published articles on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website and other foreign-based websites to reveal their persecution experiences and the CCP's general persecution of Falun Gong. Wang Bo and her parents had freed themselves from the claws of the Hebei Province 610 Office and the brainwashing center in 2005 and publicized in detail how reporters from the Focal Point Interview edited, twisted and took their words out of context to slander Falun Gong. They chose to go into exile after speaking the truth, to avoid further persecution. Wang Bo and her parents were secretly arrested by CCP officials in Dalian City on the evening of July 27, 2006, and were taken back to Shijiazhuang City, where they were illegally detained.

Changan District Court officials and those from the Procuratorate in Shijiazhuang City illegally tried Wang Bo and her parents at 9:00 a.m. on November 10, 2006, charging them with "disrupting the administration of law." According to the Party's own laws, a verdict should be issued within one month, at most by 45 days, and yet the verdict in Wang Bo's case was not issued until nearly three months later. It is said that the Communist regime thought Wang Bo's case was high profile. The case was submitted all the way up to the Hebei Province High Court, whose officials issued a preliminary verdict. During the court session the head judge announced more than 40,000 yuan and three boxes of clothing should be returned to Wang Bo and her parents. It is said the money and clothing is stored with Li Xingshan, an official at Shijiazhuang City National Security Detachment. Wang Bo's relatives demanded the return of the money and property, yet the court appeared powerless to do anything about it.

The CCP-controlled court officials issued a faulty verdict. It was learned that Wang Bo and her mother Liu Shuqin refused to sign it and they strongly protested the illegal trial. They tore up the verdict statement in front of the judge. Wang Bo's father, Wang Xinzhong, has appealed with Shijiazhuang City Intermediate Court. A conscientious lawyer has defended Wang Xinzhong's innocence in court after great efforts from relatives and friends. They are trying to get an open public trial for the second hearing in order to prevent the intermediate court from "playing tricks in the dark." More information indicates, however, that persons at the Changan District Court pretended to have recommended that Wang Xinzhong's relatives hire a lawyer, but when the lawyer tried to intervene in the case, they did everything possible to stop him.

Ms. Chen Peizhu and Ms. Huang Cailan from Guangxi Sentenced in October 2006

On June 4, 2006, police officers from Longlin County Police Department in Guangxi arrested Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Chen Peizhu and Ms. Huang Cailan at their homes. An illegal court hearing was held secretly in October. Family members were not informed of the hearing until an insider told them about it less than one day before. Wei Yong (male) and one other person from the Prosecutor's Office at Longlin County Procuratorate brought fabricated charges against them in the absence of a defense attorney or witnesses. Ms. Chen Peizhu wanted to share her experiences of practicing Falun Gong with the court, but Chief Justice Huang He (male) rejected her request.

Soon after the hearing, Ms. Chen Peizhu was illegally sentenced to five and a half years and Ms. Huang Cailan to three and a half years in prison. Again, the court did not inform the family members of Ms. Chen Peizhu or Ms. Huang Cailan.

Ms. Chen Peizhu is 64 years old. Since childhood, she suffered from symptoms of polio. She previously had difficulty walking and needed someone's assistance. Her severe disabilities made her pessimistic and unhappy and she even thought of committing suicide. After July 1993, when she started practicing Falun Gong, she felt good both mentally and physically and her morality also improved. Even though she never attended school, she was able to fluently read all the Falun Gong books. She became able to walk by herself and live on her own. When Longlin County experienced severe flooding, this disabled Falun Gong practitioner generously donated disaster relief materials amounting to more than 400 yuan in value.

The gang surrounding [former CCP leader] Jiang started brutally persecuting Falun Gong practitioners on July 20, 1999, and in 2002, Ms. Chen Peizhu was illegally sentenced to four years in prison because she refused to give up Falun Gong. Due to her severe disabilities, no prisons were willing to accept her and she was therefore detained in the county detention center. Her latest arrest resulted in another term of five and a half years. We have learned that the authorities contacted many prisons, even as far away as Hainan Province, in order to find one that would accept her.

Ms. Huang Cailan is in her forties and recently widowed. After she was illegally detained, and no one has been looking after her aged mother who is in poor health. Her child is still attending school and the whole family has been thrown into a crisis.
