  • His Mother Persecuted to Death, His Father Imprisoned, Su Wei Dies Alone

Mr. Su Anzhou is a retired employee of the Lanzhou City Railroad Bureau in Gansu Province. His wife Geng Cuifang is a small business owner. Twenty-five year old Mr. Su Wei, who was not a practitioner, was these Falun Gong practitioners' only child. The family of three was very happy, but because the couple practice Falun Gong, they have been brutally mistreated. Two of them have died, and one is in prison.

On May 3, 2002, Ms. Geng Cuifang was assaulted in her home by police, and tragically died from falling off the building. Mr. Su Anzhou was arrested on September 14, 2002, and sentenced to ten years in prison on October 27, 2002. He is now detained in the Lanzhou City Prison. Their son Su Wei, who was 22 years old, was left home without any living resources, and became sick with tuberculosis due to malnutrition.

In June 2006, Su Wei's condition worsened. His relatives, neighbors, and the community donated money to have him treated, and contacted the Lanzhou City Prison to bail Su Anzhou out on medical parole to take care of his dying son. Mr. Su was hospitalized in the Prison Hospital, and he was eligible to be out on medical leave. Because Su Anzhou refused to give up his cultivation in Falun Gong, the Prison Administration refused to let him out on medical leave. They escorted him home on July 26, 2006 to visit his dying son for only one moment.

When he arrived home, Su Wei's whole body was swollen and his face was beyond recognition. His legs were swollen to the point of transparency, and he was oozing out liquid. He could not walk, and his room smelled very bad. Su Anzhou put his hands on his son's head, and could not speak one word. Su Wei said to the guards, "I beg you to release my Dad." Everyone that was standing by was moved to tears, but the guards still took away Mr. Su. Su Wei died at home on August 4, 2006.

Twenty-Year-Old Son of Zhu Yan Arrested for Appealing for His Mother; His Whereabouts Unknown

At 9:30 a.m. on the morning of August 8, 2006, Mr. Cao Yang held a banner in front of the Jilin City Police Station to appeal for the release of his mother from detention at Heizuizi Labor Camp in Changchun City. He was arrested after ten minutes and his whereabouts remain unknown.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhu Yan from Gangyao, Longtan District, Jilin City was arrested by Gangyao local police in October 2005 when she was on the road. She was illegally sentenced to one and a half years in a labor camp. She is presently imprisoned at Heizuizi Labor Camp. When her 20-year-old son and 18-year-old daughter went to the labor camp to see her, they witnessed the cruel persecution their mother had suffered. They requested that the labor camp release her. The authorities at the labor camp told them to go to the local police station to raise the request.

On June 12, 2006, both of Ms. Zhu's children went to the Gangyao local police station to appeal for her. They were beaten and injured outside by Chen Xinzhu, head of the Gangyao local police station, and four other police officers.

At that time, many people came to watch what was happening. Mr. Cao Yang explained the facts to them. At around 9:40 a.m., the surrounding areas of the police station were all filled by police and plainclothes officers. About 7 or 8 police officers went straight to the crowd. One plainclothes policeman in a yellow short-sleeved shirt took the lead. He quickly seized both arms of a man from the outer circle of a crowd and knocked him down to the ground. The man rolled over several times. Two police officers quickly came over, and fiercely pulled and dragged him. They escorted him away and

the other police officers quickly surrounded him. The man's shoe fell off when the police rushed him away. They dragged him to the police station and through the side door. At the same time, a police officer interrogated Mr. Cao, who was holding the banner, and took him away.

A witness on the scene told people that Mr. Cao Yang shouted to the police, "Why are you beating him?" Several police officers came over, took down the banner and forced Mr. Cao to go to the police station. At that time, many people shouted to Mr. Cao, "Don't go in with them. You will suffer. They will beat you."

Mr. Cao Yang and an unknown onlooker (perhaps Falun Gong practitioner Li Shigang who is illegally detained at the 3rd Detention Center in Jilin City) were arrested. They have not been released and their latest status remains unknown. Many witnesses are very worried and concerned about their safety.

The Persecution Suffered by Yin Shuyun from Longkou City, Shandong Province

My name is Yin Shuyun and I am a 49-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Zhuanqu Village, Beima Town, Longkou City, Shandong Province. Before cultivating Falun Gong, I suffered from leukemia, headaches, stomach problems, heart disease and many other illnesses. I could not find a cure even after searching far and wide for doctors. With great blessings, I began practicing Falun Gong in 1997, and was cured miraculously of all of my health problems. Through studying the Fa, I learned how to live my life righteously and in harmony with all my friends and family. After my husband passed away, my mother-in-law was very strict with me and I was forced to move into my sister's home. I endured many grievances from her. However, after cultivating in Falun Gong, I went to visit her and healed our relationship. All of those years of grievances were dispelled. I felt an indescribable sense of joy and lightness in my heart. I felt so blissful - Falun Gong and Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is so wonderful!

On July 20, 1999, the wicked Jiang Zemin regime initiated the terrible persecution against Falun Gong. In order to speak a just word, I traveled to Beijing in November 1999 with my sister to appeal to the government. I was dragged into a police car and later sent to the Longkou City office in Beijing. Policeman Ma Yanhui searched my body illegally and my sister was fined 400 yuan. Thereafter, I was illegally imprisoned at the Beima Town Police Station for fifteen days before being sent to the Zhangjiagou Detention Center for another fifteen days. I was also fined 225 yuan before being allowed to return home.

On February 8, 2000, I traveled to Beijing with five other practitioners to appeal once again. However, once I reached Tiananmen Square, I was again dragged into a police car. At my hometown office in Beijing, I was illegally searched and had 100 yuan taken from me. After being taken back, I was again detained in a small dark room for another night at the Beima Police Station. In the early morning, policeman Lv Quanjian began interrogating me. He grabbed my hair roughly and beat me up. I was forced to run in the snow barefoot and stand in cold water for an hour. I was also forced to press large cubes of ice against my face, before being hung up with handcuffs and brutally beaten. While they beat me up, they shouted that it was time to slaughter the pig. This continued until about 3:00 p.m. I was severely frozen - my entire body shivered uncontrollably and my teeth clattered nonstop. All of my limbs turned numb; I could not feel them at all. My face was also beaten to the extent of distortion and my entire body was bruised and injured.

The next day, along with five other Falun Gong practitioners, I was handcuffed and taken out to the streets to be paraded around, and then brought back to the detention center for further illegal detention. At the detention center, policeman Lv Quanjian tortured me every day in order to coerce me to give up cultivation; as long as I refused to give up, I was forced to stand barefoot in the snow for several hours without a jacket. I was slapped, spat upon, and had water poured over my head. I was also made to stand in the yard. The guards used many means of persecution on me. When I asked them which law I had violated by being a good person and following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, they answered that I had violated the law by simply practicing Falun Gong and that this was under the direction of Jiang Zemin. I was given very little food every day. When my sister visited me, the police said that they would only allow it if she paid them. In the end, they would not allow the visit even after my sister gave them 225 yuan. Fifteen days later, I was transferred to Anzhuang Company and illegally detained for more than forty days. I was only released after my sister paid another 2,600 yuan.

In October 2000, four policemen came to my home to arrest me. When my child grabbed my legs, refusing to let go, they arrested my child as well and brought him to the police station. The policemen refused to feed the child and even said that he deserved to starve to death. This 10-year-old child came under persecution just for having a mother who was cultivating to be a good person. Four days later, my child's school authorities asked for his release. I was illegally imprisoned for another month and released after undergoing a hunger strike.

On January 19, 2001, a few policemen broke into my home, forcing me to write guarantee statements and threatening to arrest me if I refused. Once again, I was illegally arrested and sent to Anzhuang Company's brainwashing sessions. After five days on a hunger strike and 500 yuan extorted from my sister, I was released.

In February 2001, in order to arrest me, the Longkou City 610 Office members, together with eight or nine men from the Beima Police Station, broke into my sister's home. My sister was alarmed and frightened and she shivered in fear. Due to constant harassment by the police, my sister developed heart problems. In the summer of 2001, my sister was illegally arrested and imprisoned for a day while I was forced to leave home and live in exile.

On January 18, 2002, I was reported to the authorities and taken to a brainwashing session. I was forced to watch defaming videos by policeman Wang Chenghui, and also pressured to write the three statements renouncing Falun Gong. I went on a hunger strike, refusing food and water, and was released nine days later.

On September 18, 2002, during the Chinese Communist Party's Sixteenth National Congressional Conference, while I was working in the fields at the home of a relative, the Deputy Town Chief of Beima Town Gao Jinhu dispatched a group of policemen from the Beima Police Station to take me to a brainwashing session. I was carried into the police car after being surrounded. At the brainwashing session, I underwent another hunger strike. On the third day, I was force-fed. The people in charge there brutally inserted a thick plastic tube down my esophagus and into my stomach. I was severely tortured to the point that I could hardly breathe and almost suffocated. Seeing that I was going to die, the policemen finally pulled out the tube while blood flowed out from my mouth. Without any concern for my life, they continued inserting the tubes and I was tortured to the brink of death. Later, they stopped paying attention to me and I managed to flee. When one of my sisters heard that I was missing, she went to the brainwashing center to ask for my whereabouts. She was then illegally imprisoned for eight days and fined 150 yuan before being released. Because of this, I was forced to live in exile again.

In May 2006, when Jiang Zemin came to Nanshan, my elder sister was brought to the police station by Town Deputy Supervision Li Shiqian, while policemen stole her television, VCD player and three radio cassettes, as well as many Falun Gong books.

Mr. Chen Jizhong from Heilongjiang Sentenced to Five Years Imprisonment, Whereabouts Unknown

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chen Jizhong, 63, is from Yongqing Village, Daotaiqiao Town, Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province. He had been in poor health and led a very hard life before discovering Falun Gong. After he began to practice in 1996, he regained his health and the capability to support himself, and led a happy life.

In 2001, Mr. Chen Jizhong was arrested three times by police officers Li Yuwen, Zhu and Wang from the local Daotaiqiao Police Station. He was detained in the Second Detention Center of Yilan County for 48 days after the first arrest, and was detained for 2.5 months and 4 months respectively after the second and third arrests. In addition, the police extorted more than 5000 yuan from him.

After Mr. Chen was arrested for the fourth time by staff from the 610 Office, he was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment. No one has heard any further information.

Mr. Chen’s wife, having been so frightened by her husband’s four counts of arrest and imprisonment, collapsed mentally and became unable to take care of herself. She had no food, drink or firewood for cooking or heating, and frequently fell ill. She sometimes became irrational or lost consciousness. Once, she lost consciousness and lay for a period of time on a heated cooking pot cover, causing serious burns to her back, hands and shoulders. Accidents such as this occurred four times, two of which resulted in burn injuries.

Mr. Chen’s relatives and friends were greatly puzzled by his imprisonment. He was a very upright and honest person. He always treated others with kindness. How was he a criminal for cultivating himself according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance? They could not understand why he received such a severe sentence without his relatives being informed, and they wanted to know his whereabouts. They worry about him very much, particularly as more and more news surfaces about the Chinese Communist Party’s unthinkable crimes of harvesting living Falun Gong practitioners’ organs for profit.

Police Beat Students Asking for Their Mother's Release from Detention

At around 7:00 p.m. on July 13, 2006, officers from Shidui Police Station in Anqiu City, Shandong Province went to the home of practitioner Liu Qingmei in Shidui Town, Anqiu City. After entering the home under false pretenses, they arrested Ms. Liu, pushed her into a black sedan, and drove away. They detained her at the Anqiu City Detention Center. That same night, Han Jianwu, the director of Ms. Liu's village, along with two officers from the Shidui Police Station, went to Ms. Liu's home and ransacked it.

A few days after Ms. Liu's arrest, her daughter and some relatives went to the detention center to request Ms. Liu's release, but the police denied their request. Ms. Liu's husband was working in Qingdao City when he heard the news of her arrest. He immediately returned home and went to the Anqiu City Police Department to request her release, but again, the police denied the request.

On the afternoon of July 27, Ms. Liu's daughter, son, and several relatives went to the Shibei District Police Department of Anqiu City to request Ms. Liu's release. Zhang Jinxiao, a police supervisor, beat them. Ms. Liu's son was bleeding at the face and neck. The following day, officers from the Shidui Police Station arrested Ms. Liu's daughter at her home. They detained her for a day before releasing her.

Ms. Liu's daughter is a student at the First Middle School of Anqiu City, and her son is a student at Jinan University. They attempted to secure their mother's release, but the Anqiu City Police responded by beating, detaining, and threatening them. Their mother remains in police custody as another victim of the persecution.
