Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xiang Lijie, married to a Taiwanese resident for more than a decade, has been illegally detained, held in a labor camp and was brutally tortured by the Chinese Communist regime for practicing Falun Gong.
In the past six years the Communist regime has refused to let Xiang Lijie return to Taiwan because she refuses to give up her belief. The Communist Party fears that the international community will learn more about its atrocities against Falun Gong. National Security Bureau agents and police officials illegally arrested Ms. Xiang. She was detained, force-fed, and subjected to brainwashing. Xiang Lijie's husband is anxiously waiting for her. Her father-in-law didn't get to see her before he passed away.
We call on people inside and outside China, including legal experts and human rights activists, to join together to help rescue the unlawfully-detained Xiang Lijie.
Brief summary of Xiang Lijie's life and the persecution she has been subjected to:
Xiang Lijie is 45 years old. She was born in Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province. She got married in Mainland China to Yang Jinyi, a resident of Tainan County, Taiwan in August 1994. They were very happy together.
After the Communist Party began persecuting Falun Gong, Xiang Lijie persisted in her belief and went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong while she lived in Mainland China. She was twice sentenced to forced labor and has never been able to return to Taiwan.
After Xiang Lijie was released from the labor camp in 2001, she received permission from the Taiwanese government to live in Taiwan. She started going through the procedures necessary to move to Taiwan. She had applied to the Communist regime for permission to move to Taiwan, and met with obstruction from the local government. The Jilin Province Police Department refused to issue the necessary documents to her because she refused to give up Falun Gong.
After Xiang Lijie was released on medical parole from the labor camp for the second time in 2003, she was extremely weak and could not take care of herself due to the tortures she suffered at the labor camp. Her husband appealed for her through the Legislative Yuan and the Taiwanese Strait Exchange Foundation, who spoke on her behalf and appealed for the Communist regime to grant permission for her to relocate to Taiwan. The local police and the National Security Group again refused, without giving any explanation.
Xiang Lijie exposed the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong on April 23, 2006. She was again arrested and her personal property worth about 10,000 yuan was confiscated.
Xiang Lijie is now being held at the Liaoyuan City Detention Center. The Communist regime is attempting to try her in court. Xiang Lijie held hunger strikes several times at the detention center to protest the persecution. The guards locked her onto a metal chair, and to a "Stretching Bed" (1). They forbade her family to visit her.
More than ten other Falun Gong practitioners including Zhao Yan are also held at Liaoyuan City Detention Center.
No lawyers in China dare to represent Falun Gong practitioners in court, so we call for legal experts and people of justice inside and outside China to extend a helping hand. Please, provide legal representation and assistance for Xiang Lijie and other Falun Gong practitioners. Please, take quick action to help stop the Liaoyuan City regime's persecution against Falun Gong practitioners!
(1) "Stretching Bed" -- The guards fix the steadfast practitioners' limbs on a specially made bed on which there are 4 rings. Practitioners' hands and feet are fixed in the rings. Then the police apply force to the rings, so that the practitioner's body will be pulled up away from the bed as their limbs are stretched. If more force is exerted, one will pass out in a few seconds. If one is left in this position for more than ten minutes, all his/her muscle and bones in the limbs will be dislocated and the person will be disabled permanently. Moreover, the guards forbid others to take care of the disabled practitioners. After the practitioner is pulled up off the bed and the limbs are stretched, the police strike the joints with small rubber mallets until the joints become bruised and extremely sore.
Villager Ms. Liu Shunqin of Jianyang, Sichuan Province, practiced Falun Gong, improved her health and strengthened her body. Local Chinese Communist Party officials ransacked and damaged her home. She was twice "illegally sentenced" to forced labor and prison. Her husband died as a result of the persecution. To this day, Ms. Liu Shunqin is still imprisoned at the Sichuan Women's Prison in Yangma Town, Jianyang City, and being brutally persecuted. More details follow.
Ms. Liu, now 57 years old, lives in Xinsheng Group 2, the Xinhepian Region, Dongxi Town, Jianyang City, Sichuan Province. She is a kind person, willing to help people. Before she practiced Falun Gong she was already well known in the area for her ability to manage her family and farm well. But due to years of stressful labor, Ms. Liu had developed many illnesses and caused her family great inconvenience. She heard that practicing Falun Gong and believing in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance could improve health and strengthen one's body, without spending one penny. After she started practicing, all kinds of strange illnesses were cured without treatment. Because of this, many people in her village later started to practice Falun Gong.
After July 20, 1999, regardless of the fact that Falun Gong was beneficial to a great number of practitioners, the CCP publicly attacked and defamed Falun Gong. Some local officials blindly followed orders from their superiors for their personal interests. They did not distinguish right from wrong, arbitrarily arrested and beat many good people who persisted in the belief of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They capriciously ransacked and destroyed homes and actively participated in this persecution. They caused the deaths of several practitioners and destroyed their their families. Farm land was left unattended, and houses were left vacant. Ms. Liu Shunqin was one of those practitioners.
In 2001, a gang from Dongxi Town and Village brought officers from the Jianyang City Police Department into the village in several police cars. They illegally arrested the peasant women who practiced Falun Gong and took seven or eight of them to a detention center. During their interrogations, the police kept asking them who their leader was and wouldn¡¦t release them if they did not answer. It was a busy time for farmers, and the peasants could not afford to leave the elderly and the young unattended or to pay the prison boarding fees. Ms. Liu thought that, since her family was smaller and would be less trouble, she would willingly accept the responsibility and cooperate so that other practitioners could be released quickly. As a result the authorities sent her to the Zizhong City's Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp for two years
Ms. Liu¡¦s practitioner husband,, Chen Juwen is retired from teaching at the Xinhe Primary School. After the CCP started persecuting Falun Gong, his pension was withheld. He had no talent for farming and had difficulty making a living. In December 2001, officials duped him into showing up at a detention center to "have a talk." Mr. Chen Juwen and several other practitioners were unreasonably detained for about 80 days before being released.
Once back home, Mr. Chen could no longer make ends meet because his wife, the accomplished farmer, was in a labor camp. He had to go to different relatives' homes to ask for their help. Vllage officials framed Mr. Chen, saying he was making outside connections and threatened to arrest and imprison him. He decided to go into exile to avoid further persecution. He had to live outdoors and suffered from mosquito bites, leaving red marks all over his body. Eventually he became ill but had no funds for treatment. He died.
By the time Ms. Liu Shunqin was released and went home, her husband had long since passed away. Ms. Liu¡¦s health had gradually deteriorated from long-term forced labor and other trauma from the persecution, as well as grief over her husband's death. She was lonely but resumed farming and repaired her home. Ms. Liu gradually recovered her health through persistent Fa-study and the Falun Gong exercises.
Before long, around December 2003, several people reported her to the authorities because she continued practicing Falun Gong. Those responsible were: village CCP secretary Huang DaoX, village head Peng Yunpiao, security personnel Wu Bihua, and women¡¦s association leader Fu Hongxia. Agents from the Ziyang City Police Department, from the Jianyang City Police Department, and from the Dongxi Town Comprehensive Security Office, led by head Yang Congxin and others, arrived in several police vehicles and broke into her home. They ransacked and destroyed her home and put her into a vehicle. She was sentenced to three-and a-half years in prison. Ms. Liu Shunqin remains in the Sichuan Province Women's Prison in Yangma Town, Jianyang City.
In this way, a good family was broken apart: the husband is dead, the home is empty, and the land barren, all because of the CCP¡¦s groundless and inhuman persecution.
A repeat break-in occurred at the home of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhao Xiliang and was followed by his subsequent arrest. The event happened on July 26, 2006. Involved in this outrage were Dai Chunjie, head of the Political and Security Section at the Laishui Police Department in Hebei Province; Wang Fucai, head of the 610 Office; and a dozen plainclothes police officers.
Zhao Xiliang's wife, Ms. Liu Jinhua, and her two nieces, Hongbao and Hongyu, went to the police department and requested Mr. Zhao's release. The police savagely beat them and detained them for 15 days, six days, and seven days, respectively. Ms. Hongyu was released on July 30, 2006, but Zhao Xiliang's wife and Ms. Hongbao are still in detention.
At around 3 o'clock in the morning on June 6, Dai Chunjie had already led about five people who broke into Mr. Zhao's home. They didn't present any ID and turned everything upside down within one hour. They took Mr. Zhao's Falun Gong books, notebook(s), and note pad and arrested and detained him.
Mr. Zhao had previously been detained and sent to labor camp(s) many times in the past four years, after which his wife overcame many difficulties to take care of their three-year-old daughter on her own. The wife leaves home before dawn, before the sun comes up each day, to buy vegetables at a wholesale market. When the sun comes up, she takes the vegetables on a tricycle, pedals to the countryside and sells them there, a distance of about 9 km [5.6 miles] from her home. She makes a little money this way. Her daughter often stands on the doorstep with tears in her eyes, waiting for her mother to return. A happy family is destroyed only because Mr. Zhao wants to be a good person and is determined in his belief in Falun Gong.
Mr. Zhao is an ordinary Chinese citizen. He was detained and persecuted for four years only because he wants to be a good person according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. When he drove past the front gate of Loucun Town Police Department in Laishui County on October 6, 2000, police department officials had set up road barricades. They took Mr. Zhao's Fei Cai brand tricycle and everything in it, including tools, parts, license, and cash. They took him to the county custody center and held him there for a long time. Mr. Zhao was later transferred to a detention center and held for 18 months and three days. Then he was held beyond his term for more than 12 months.
The officials issued a notice for labor reeducation soon after Mr. Zhao was sent to the forced labor camp and didn't calculate the detention time according to the law. Guards Li Dayong, Li Shuwen, Wen Jianwei and others physically and verbally abused him and subjected him to other corporal punishment. They forced him to write a guarantee statement to renounce Falun Gong. Mr. Zhao later published an announcement voiding these statements.
The following is a chronicle of Zhao Xiliang's persecution. All his incarcerations were at the same location, the Laishui County Custody Center, except where otherwise noted:
Between October 6 and December 27, 2000;
Between December 27, 2000, and April 5, 2001;
Between April 5 and April 6, 2001, at the CCP School;
Between April 6 and December 6, 2001, at the Laishui County Detention Center;
Between December 6 and December 13, 2001, in a 610 Office brainwashing center;
Between December 13 and December 31, 2001;
Between December 31, 2001, and January 11, 2002, at a 610 Office brainwashing center
Between January 11 and April 9, 2002;
Between April 9 and May 20, 2002;
On May 20, 2002, Mr. Zhao was taken to Baoding Forced Labor Camp and held there for three years. He was also subjected to brainwashing;
He was detained on June 6, 2006;
He was arrested again on July 26, 2006, and is still in detention.
Mr. Sun Zhitian is a farmer in Nanjin Village, Fenghuang Town, Zibo District, Zibo City. He began to practice Falun Gong in 1997. He had many diseases and could not work all year long. He lived a very difficult life until he began to practice and his diseases disappeared.
In July 1999, the CCP began to persecute Falun Gong. Mr. Sun went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. He was arrested and returned to Zibo by police officers from the local government's Liaison Office in Beijing. During the detention period, he was tortured both physically and mentally. After he was released from the detention center, he was not allowed to go back home. Police and government officers took turns watching him. Even when he later returned home, he was required to report to the police station every day. His normal life was severely interfered with. His wife, Ms. Zhan Fengying, could not tolerate such mistreatment under the persecution and divorced him in July 2000.
From August to September of 2000, Mr. Sun was again tortured when he was arrested for printing and delivering Falun Gong materials. In the Weibei Prison Factory, the political instructor Yang Xuewu (male), and the head of the workplace Zhao (who is in charge of the wool section), forced Mr. Sun to sit on the ground with his hands backwards and his legs straight. The two guards stepped on Mr. Sun's legs, which caused his legs to be covered in dark bruises. They also forced Mr. Sun Zhitian to take part in line training. Prisoner Jiang Huihong (male) suddenly pushed him from behind many times, which caused Mr. Sun extreme pain in his legs. Guards also ordered the head of prisoners in the wool section, Jiang Wenxing (male), to open the door and then forced Mr. Sun to stand by the door to freeze. This lasted over ten days.
Mr. Sun was tortured to the point of emaciation, weighing only 90 pounds. His legs were covered in bruises, and he had difficulty talking and walking due to lack of energy. At the beginning of April 2002, Yang Xuewu beat Mr. Sun's face with the soles of cotton shoes. Mr. Sun's face became swollen and he soon passed out. Guards made prisoners move Mr. Sun to the infirmary and treated him with medication. At that time, Mr. Sun's blood pressure was 80/40mmHg and he was very weak. On April 11, 2002, he was transferred to the Prison's General Factory Hospital and forced to be treated with medication.
After he was released in 2004, officers and police still went to his house to harass him. They would not allow him to work. They sneered at him and deceived him. Mr. Sun Zhitian is still being mistreated.
Li Qingsong, a Falun Gong practitioner in Handan City, Hebei Province, served his term of forced labor and was supposed to be released on July 25, 2006. However, he was directly transferred from the forced labor camp to a brainwashing class by the Handan Municipal Government. His mother, who went to the Handan Forced Labor Camp to pick him up, was beaten and consequently suffered a fracture, as well as high blood pressure and a stroke.
On July 25, 2006, at 5 a.m., Li Qingsong's sister and mother went to the Handan Forced Labor Camp. They asked to see Li Qingsong and requested that he be released, since he had already served the term. However, the camp authorities rejected their request, instead responding that they would never set him free. At around 8 p.m., Li Qingsong's cousin also arrived to pick him up. The camp authorities did not show any intention of releasing him. Instead, they called the police.
After a while, several police officials from Haocun Police Station of Fuxing District came. As soon as they arrived, and without a word, they began to beat the three ladies. One man covered Li Qingsong's sister's mouth. Another man slapped her mother's face, and rammed her head into the car. A policeman with badge No. 021816 twisted her hand, causing her wrist to fracture. Finally, the three ladies were dragged away to a police vehicle, taken to a police station and locked up in three separate rooms.
Later, when Li Qingsong's sister heard her mother groaning loudly, she asked if she could take care of her mother, and she noticed that the old lady was lying on the ground, looking as though she was in extreme pain. She asked the police station to call an ambulance. When the physician of Handan No.1 Hospital came, the woman's systolic blood pressure was measured to be as high as 210. She was immediately hospitalized. Upon medical examination, it was revealed that she had a fracture in her left wrist, cerebral thrombosis, poor blood flow to the cardiac muscle, and urinary incontinence.
On the morning of July 26, Li Qingsong's mother, with an infusion bottle in one hand, and accompanied by the other two ladies, went to the forced labor camp once more to ask for Li Qingsong's release. The police from the same station forced them to go back to the hospital.
It was said that Li Qingsong was sent to Qian'an brainwashing class on July 27.
On July 28, Li Qingsong's sister saw the section head Guo to find out for sure about Li Qingsong's whereabouts. However, Guo evaded her question and said that Qian'an brainwashing class had not responded to his call.
It has been confirmed that Li Qingsong has been sent to Qian'an brainwashing class, and that he went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. He is vomiting blood, and his life is in danger.
Falun Gong practitioner Cao Xi from Pingliang City, Gansu Province and his family, are being persecuted. Cao Xi is currently being illegally detained at a prison in Gansu Province. Cao Xi's wife tells the following story.
I am 63 years old this year and I am married to Cao Xi. We live at the 4th Building, Electric Power Bureau Employee Complex, 7 Gongyuan Road, Kongtong District, Pingliang City. I was fortunate to learn Falun Gong in 1998. Since then, my heart disease healed completely. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong, my family and I have suffered severe persecution. The authorities detained my husband on October 22, 2004. On November 24, 2004, he was sentenced to seven years in prison. He is still being detained at the Dashaping Prison, Lanzhou City.
On July 22, 2000, I went to the city square to practice the exercises and promote Falun Gong. The police from the Political and Judicial Committee of the City Police Department illegally arrested me and put me in a detention center for 15 days. They forced me to write a guarantee statement before releasing me. On January 18, 2000, the city 610 Office entered my home, forcefully arrested me and detained me for three months. Later, after I was released, people from the "610 Office" came to my residence frequently to interfere. They have monitored me, tried to control me, and extorted money from me without cause.
My husband Cao Xi, age 64, is a retired employee of the Electric Power Bureau, Pingliang City. He went to Beijing to appeal for the justice for Falun Gong at the end of 2000. Police arrested him. He was detained for 20 days in Beijing. On January 17, 2001, the security division of his company took him home. Later, he was detained for more than 3 months. The authorities didn't release him until April 9.
During the "transformation" class, he went on a hunger strike. Perpetrators interrogated him almost daily. Both of us had more than 4,000 Yuan extorted. "610 Office" personnel - Wang Liqun, Xi Panhu, and Guang Baoan and others used various methods to monitor, stalk, and intimidate us.
Cao Wenxi led other policemen from the State Security Bureau of Pingliang City and intruded into our rented apartment and destroyed the truth-clarification material site. We had been turned in by informants. The police took four Falun Gong books, 387 paper materials, and 19 computer discs.
Cao Wenxi once again led some policemen and broke into our home on July 17, 2004. They arrested Cao Xi and two other practitioners. Three of them were secretly detained for ten days at the Aviation School Factory following the instructions of the State Security Bureau director. Since there were no witnesses to the arrest they took away many Falun Gong materials and our personal belongings. They stole 1,500 Yuan in cash, and secretly installed a wiretap device in the inside of the sofa; the device was used for as long as two years.
On May 26, 2004, practitioners celebrated Master Lis birthday. The National Security Bureau stalked and recorded practitioners' conversations, and took our photos secretly. They charged Cao Xi, Lu Baoliang and other practitioners with being organizers.
Between October 19 and 22, 2004, every member of my family went to visit my daughter who worked at the Jingyuan County Power Plant. Spies followed us to my daughter's residence. Cao Wenxi headed other police officers and arrested Cao Xi. They detained him for nine months at the Pingliang City Detention Center. The police ransacked my daughter's home and took away all the Falun Gong books (51 copies), several thousands of various truth-clarification materials, 35 Falun Gong amulets, a small recorder, 27 cassettes, 15 computer discs, one disc player, one telephone, Master Li's photo, exercise sitting mat, bankbook, cash, etc. On November 24, 2004, Cao Xi was sentenced seven years at the Dashaping Prison, Lanzhou City.
My daughter Cao Yali is 30 years old and works at the Jingyuan County Power Plant. She lives at the power plant's employee complex. She does not practice Falun Gong, but only helped her father burn computer discs. On October 22, 2004, vicious men from the police department followed us to her home. They arrested her father, detained her and her husband. The police ransacked the place and took away their computer, disc burner, Walkman, two cell phones, over 200 copies of truth-clarification discs, one copy of Falun Gong book and a family photo. They extorted 50,000 Yuan for no cause. The police secretly installed a wiretap device at her home.
My son, Cao Jianping, is 43 years old. He is an employee of the East Electric Power Company, Pingliang City. He lives at 82 Wenhua Street, Kongtong District. Because he practiced Falun Gong and transported Falun Gong materials and discs, the authorities detained him on October 23, 2004. On November 24, perpetrators arrested and detained him for nine months. He was sentenced to three years in prison, but it was extended to four years.
On October 19, 2004, when Cao Jianping was on a business trip to Baiyin City, he accompanied us to visit his younger sister's family. The Security Division staff of his company and the police from the State Security Bureau deceived him into going back to Pingliang. On his way home, the police arrested him and put him in a detention center. They took away 120 copies of truth-clarification discs, his cell phone, money, etc. They attempted to coerce him into writing a confession, a guarantee statement, etc. After Cao Jianping was released and returned home, he was still followed and monitored. The police department required him to write a so-called report every month. His employer cooperated with the police by threatening to stop paying him, to suspend him from work, to cut off his phone lines, and not assign him any work. During the last year, Cao Jianping has attempted to talk to the company managers, but they have dodged their responsibilities. When Mr. Cao planned to start a small business, the Junfen District, Pingliang City said that they wouldn't rent rooms to Falun Gong practitioners. At this moment, he is still unemployed and stays at home.
My daughter-in-law, Li Zhilan, is in her 40's. She does not have a job. Because she practiced Falun Gong, Geng Kaijun from the State Security Bureau led other policemen to force their way into her home on October 21, 2004. They illegally searched her home, and took away a computer, a multifunction printer, two cameras, one small recorder, four telephones, two stereos, two computer wires, one stapler, one set of batteries, three TV antenna wires, five bank CD certificates (10,000 Yuan -13,800 Yuan), two loan notes, one MP3 player, one cell phone, two cassettes, 35 computer discs, 22 Falun Gong books, and over 400 truth-clarification materials. My daughter-in-law was detained for 36 hours. The police extorted 3,000 Yuan from her before she was released.
Mr. Liu Tianhou is a 73-year-old Falun Gong practitioner living in Huili County, Liangshan, Sichuan Province. A group of lawless officials from the Huili County National Security Group including Yang Shaoliang ransacked his home on April 15, 2006. They illegally arrested Liu Tianhou and detained him for more than three months.
The persecutors publicly tried him in the morning of July 28 at the Huili County Court. When the court officials asked Liu Tianhou why he was clarifying the truth he said, "I did what I did because I read the truth about the organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners at the Sujiatun Concentration Camp. It's really inhuman. I clarified the truth to people so that the evildoers would stop persecuting good people." With strong support of righteous thoughts from other Falun Gong practitioners, the trial ended hastily and Liu Tianhou was carried away without the court announcing a verdict. Following are details about this practitioner.
***
Liu Tianhou is a veteran soldier who is kind and helpful. A group of police officers broke into Liu Tianhou's home on April 15, 2006 and arrested him and three guests who were visiting his home. Later, officers from the National Security Group ransacked his home and took his Falun Gong books, exercise cassettes, a color TV and a VCD player. They detained the three guests and extorted 5,000 Yuan from them before letting them go home.
Liu Tianhou was injured while serving in the military. A bullet hit the calf of one of his legs, leaving a big hole. In his old age before he began practicing Falun Gong, he developed cerebral atrophy, myocarditis, high blood pressure, and many other ailments. When his illnesses hit, he would suffer pain so great that he would hit his head against the wall to relieve the pain and terribly hurt his head.
After he started practicing Falun Gong, the hole on his leg closed and all of his illnesses gradually disappeared. He no longer needed his son to take care of him, he was even able to take care of his wife who was semi-paralyzed.
Liu Tianhou was arrested and detained ten times because of his belief in Truth-Compassion-Tolerance. Liu Tianhou's son is afraid of being implicated and is staying away from him. Since his detention, Liu Tianhou's wife lost her only caregiver and has not taken a shower in three months during which period she could not get out of bed. She cries every day.

At 7:30 a.m. on June 28, 2006, officers from the Hebei Police Department in Heilongjiang Province went to the homes of Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Wu Guangmin, Mr. Jiang Biao, Ms. Jia Qiumei and to that of her mother Ren Xingqin. They arrested these practitioners and took them to Hebei County Detention Center.
Hebei County Police Department officials sent the four practitioners to the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp around July 21 and sentenced them to two years of forced labor. Wu Guangmin and Ren Xingqin didn't pass the physical exam and were taken back to the police department. The Hebei County police not only didn't release the practitioners, but instead sent them to Hebei Detention Center. The practitioners have not been permitted to meet with their families for more than one month.
Ren Xingqin's oldest son Jia Yongfa and her third daughter Jia Dongmei were tortured to death at the hands of Jiamusi Labor Camp authorities and Hebei police officers. They left behind their young children. Within two years Ren Xingqin lost a son and a daughter to the persecution. Now her first and second daughter are being held at the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp.
Currently, Wu Guangmin is being held at a Hebei Detention Center and
is
extremely weak. Her husband used to be the deputy head of the Hebei
Forest
Bureau, but is now semi-paralyzed and cannot take care of himself.

A group of Falun Gong practitioners were transferred from Daqing Forced Labor Camp to Suihua Forced Labor Camp on March 17, 2006. The lawless guards and inmates body-searched Falun Gong practitioner Cao Jingdong. They found Master Li's articles in his pocket. Inmates Wang Shushan, Hou Shichen, team head on duty Lian Xing, and team head Chen Xinlong brutally beat him. On March 18, team political head Zeng Lingjun and guard Chen Xinlong dragged Cao Jingdong to a solitary confinement cell and savagely beat him again. Starting on March 19, the political instructor Gao Zhonghai and others shocked Cao Jingdong with electric batons for four to five days continuously until Cao Jingdong's eyes were bloodshot and his body was covered in wounds. He was held in solitary confinement for six days, during which time he was tied to the Tiger Bench. Cao Jingdong's family went to visit him in July, but the labor camp authorities refused to let them see him. Sources revealed that his genital area was injured from beatings and his entire body was covered in wounds.
The new group leader Lian Xing shocked practitioner Lian Tao with electric batons on June 9, 2006. He broke one of Lian Tao's fingers, and severely beat his muscles and face. Guard Diao Xuesong knocked out some of practitioner Li Shaotie's teeth.
One day in 2003, Liu Wei, a deputy group leader at Suihua Forced
Labor Camp,
slapped practitioner Xu Xuezhi's face and knocked him to the ground. Xu
Xuezhi
didn't come to until about three minutes later.
