In early March, a practitioner and I were arrested in our temporary home by policemen from the Political and Security Section of the Xinhui Police Station (part of the Dehui City Police Department and the 1st Section of Changchun City Police Department). At the time, we had just finished having our dinner in our room and we heard rapid knocking at our door. I heard one policeman answering our neighbor, "We are the police!" I knew we were surrounded by police.
My fellow practitioner and I grabbed some truth-clarification materials in a hurry, but at this point the police had already broken into the apartment. We locked the door to our room from the inside. The policemen could not push open the door, so they kicked the glass on the door into pieces, forced their way into the room and seven to eight policemen came in and illegally arrested us.
The other practitioner opened the window and jumped out from the 4th floor. She suffered broken bones in her back and feet, as well as injuries to her face. On the second day, this practitioner was released.
After they broke into the room, one policeman held up a gun and shouted, "Don't move!" Several policemen pushed me down to the ground, and I shouted, "What are you doing?" I refused to cooperate with them and did not let them tie me up. However, in the end they overpowered me and tied me up. They were afraid that I would cry out for help, so they shoved a towel into my mouth and pulled me downstairs. They pushed me into a police car and took me to the Dehui Hotel, which was really a place that people from the Dehui City 610 Office, Political and Security Section and National Security Team of Dehui Police Department used to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.
Several policemen forcibly pulled me to the third floor and threw me into a room with the windows blocked out. At this time, policeman Guo Xuquan from the Political and Security Section came in and said, "Do you still want to live? If not, we can open the window and let you jump out or I can push you out the window." After a while, policemen took another woman into the room and I heard that woman arguing with them, "I went there to deliver the newspaper and knocked at the wrong door. Why are you taking me here?" The policemen did not believe her and that woman asked them to call her boss to confirm. The police asked her to curse people and say bad words about Falun Gong. Later on, this woman was taken away by her family and colleagues.
In the evening, several policemen took turns to watch me and I lay on the ground for the whole evening with handcuffs on. On the second day, a person from the 610 Office and National Security team, Mao Chunsheng, hypocritically said to me, "Can we have a good talk?" I did not answer.
At around 5:00 or 6:00 p.m., the policemen started to torture me, attempting to force a confession out of me. At first, the team leader of the National Security team and Deputy Chief of the Political and Security Section of the Dehui Police Department, Zhang Qingchun, came into the room. Because they found the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party at my home, Zhang Qingchun imposed groundless charges against me, claimed that I was "anti Communist Party" and said he wanted to talk to me. I did not answer, and he started to kick me in the head and blew cigarette smoke into my nostrils. His body was very weak and he could not stand for long after he tortured me for some time. He then lay down on the bed in the room and started to take some medicine. His face was dark and thin. Zhang Qingchun had participated in or plotted the persecution against almost every Falun Gong practitioner in Dehui City.
Next, several policemen led by Guo Xuquan started to torture me. They pulled me up from the ground, pushed me into a big chair and handcuffed my hands behind the back of the chair. I refused to cooperate with them and they started to pour water into my mouth. Two of them used a hard object to forcibly pry open my mouth. One person made an effort to pull my handcuffs downward and pulled my hair, and one person poured water into my mouth and claimed that they would pour 80 bottles of water into my mouth. Due to extreme pain, I started to stamp my feet, and then they tied my feet to a chair and continued persecuting me. During this period, they would pause for a while when they felt tired. Meanwhile, policeman Lou Xingyan wrote down a list of false charges against me.
They continued torturing me until late into the night and at that time, my whole body was soaked and my teeth were injured, with blood filling up my mouth. Those who participated in the persecution included a policeman named Wang Tiejun, who was recently moved to the Political and Security Section, and some other policemen that I did not know the names of. During this period, the section chief of the Political and Security Section also appeared at the door. They did not stop until they found that they could not get anything out of me.
The police forcibly pulled me into a car and carried me to Dehui Detention Center for illegal detention. In the cell, a detainee asked me to take off my clothes, and they saw that my left pant leg was soaked in blood and a big wound in my left leg was bleeding. Due to severe injury, on the second day, the guards asked other people to carry me to Cell 5, which was the cell to detain medical patients. The detention center was afraid to take responsibility for my condition and sent Doctor Li Yazhou and others to carry me to the Dehui Hospital for an examination. Afterward, I was sent back to the detention center.
Because I was weak, I lay down on the bed every day. The detention center asked detainees in my cell to take turns watching me. Because I refused to eat, they started to force-feed me. Detainee Liu Mairen was assigned to Cell No. 5 and was instigated by the guards to force-feed and persecute me. In order to get me to sit up, one afternoon the detainees in the cells, under the instigation of guard Yao, started to torture me. One detainee pricked my fingernails with a needle, some pulled my hair, and some beat my chest and caused two ribs to become bruised. After that, I could not move for a few days.
The guards then started to brutally force-feed me with a spoon and needle, and if I refused to eat, they would beat me. Later, a guard could not bear to see them torture me any more and stopped them. It was said that I was under tight surveillance by the detention center.
During my detention, my family members also went to the detention center many times to ask to see me and also talked to the commissioner of the police department and Political Security Section to ask for my unconditional release. The police did not allow my family to see me, nor did they agree to release me.
One night, because I was extremely weak, the detention center sent me to Dehui Hospital for "emergency rescue" in the evening so that they could continue persecuting me. That evening, many policemen went to my hospital ward, including the staff from the legal system section. Even though my condition was serious, they refused to release me and spent 5,000 yuan on the second day to send me to the Changchun Police Hospital to continue persecuting me.
In the Changchun Police Hospital, they conducted a check-up on me and injected drugs that were harmful to the heart. They said I had pulmonary tuberculosis, among other diseases, and sent me to the in-patient department. On the way, I felt so sick that I vomited in the car. They carried me to the infectious diseases section in the in-patient department. When we arrived there, detainees were the ones who received me. They took off my clothes, measured my blood pressure, hooked up a catheter in me, and set up a tube to force-feed me. In the evening due to unbearable pain, I kept crying out for help. One detainee finally relented and unhooked the catheter. That evening, I was injected with a large amount of unknown drugs. On the second day, I asked the doctor to stop using that medication when she came through the ward. The section chief said to me viciously, "Stay there obediently and cooperate!" The food they forced into me was soybean powder mixed with tap water. On the third day, they injected me with a large amount of unknown drugs again. I lost consciousness, fell, and hit my head against the radiator. My head was severely injured.
Since I was critically ill, in order to shirk their responsibility,
the
hospital informed the Political Security Section of the Dehui Police
Department
and then informed my family. My family members took me home that
evening. On the
way, due to my critical situation, my family had to send me to the
Jiutai
Hospital for emergency treatment. On the second day, after my condition
stabilized, my family took me home.

Since July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong, focusing on "ruining practitioners' reputations, bankrupting them financially, and destroying them physically," has brought serious damage to the practitioners of various ethnic groups in Yanji City, the capital of Yanbian Chaoxian Autonomous Prefecture.
It has been verified that Yang Zhongfang, Song Yonghua, Piao Shihao, Liu Boyi, Hao Yingqiang, Chi Huiwen and other practitioners were persecuted to death due to torture by policemen at the Yanji City National Security Group and police station branches. Another group of more than twenty practitioners including Jin Dejun, Lin Shixiong, Xin Yanjun, Guo Peijun, Cai Fuchen, Sun Xi, Li Xianglan, Chen Guangwe, Zhang Hui, Gao Yan, Piao Hongquan, and Jin Ming were illegally sentenced, and more than ten practitioners were sent to forced labor camps. The total number of practitioners arrested and/or detained is unknown.

From 1999 to the present, especially during the period of the second half of 2001 and 2004, the police branches have been severely persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in Yanji under the instruction of Li Dongzhu, the police chief in charge of the persecution of Falun Gong at Yanji City Police Station, and Xu Xiaofeng and Xiao Bin at the Yanji City National Security Group.
Yang Zhongfang (Persecuted to death)
On July 2, 2002, the policemen from Jiangong Police Station branch beat practitioner Yang Zhongfang to death overnight under the instruction of Yu Minghuan, the party secretary of Jiangong Police Station branch. Yang Zhongfang ran a deli business at Xiyuan Market (now Lihuayuan Market), Yanxi Street, Yanji City.

Since 2001, many practitioners have been arrested by the Yanji City National Security Group and were sentenced without evidence of committing a crime. For hanging Falun Gong banners and/or distributing truth-clarification materials, Jin Dejun, Hao Yunqiang (since persecuted to death), Xing Yuanjun, Guo Peijun, and other practitioners were sentenced from seven to nine years of imprisonment at Jilin Prison. They were tortured at the National Security Group with brutal methods after being arrested, and their painful screaming was heard all over the detention center.
The policemen from the Chaoyang Police Station branch worked the hardest in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Many of these officers have since been promoted to the city police station or city security bureau because of their "achievements" in the persecution. Liu Xinwen became the head of the Chaoyang Police Station branch, promoted from an average police officer during this period.
In March 2003, under the instruction of Li Dongzhu, the head in charge of the Falun Gong persecution at the Yanji City Police Station, Liu Xinwen, head of the Chaoyang branch, and other policemen searched for practitioners in Yanji City and arrested more than forty practitioners, many of whom were women. The police tortured the practitioners with brutal methods. For example, many female practitioners' arms were bound behind their back and they were hung up for more than ten hours. Practitioners' heads were covered with a plastic bag, and they were subjected to "tying the rope" (1) They were also subjected to the Tiger Bench, sleep deprivation, and other brutal tortures.
The police also threatened and deceived practitioners' families. The practitioners would be arrested, sentenced to labor camps, or imprisoned, in order to extort money from the families.
In the seven years of persecution, the police station branches of Beishan, Gongyuan, Jiangong, Henan, Xinxing, Yilan, and other departments have participated in the evil persecution against Falun Gong. Their persecution methods are cruel.
In the seven years of persecution, Falun Gong practitioners have been trying to clarify the truth to the police; however, many of them are still stubbornly continuing the persecution of practitioners.
(1) Type the rope: one type of brutal torture, refers to putting a thin nylon rope around the back of a person's neck, and then wrapping it around both shoulders down to each arm loop by loop, and then over each hand. The rope is tightened to its limit and it cuts into the flesh. Both arms are forced behind the back and raised to the extreme, and then both thumbs are tied with a rope and locked to the rope that goes around the back of the neck. The person tortured in this way is then kicked to kneel down on the floor. The rope is released about one hour later, and then the person is tied up like this again a second time, then a third time.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. Since then I have been constantly harassed and threatened by the police, illegally arrested, detained, and sent to labor camps. The following is a summary of the persecution that I have experienced during the last several years at the hands of the police in Jiamusi.
In December 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. I was arrested and sent to Jiamusi City Police Department's Liaison Office in Beijing. Yonghong District Police Deparment and Youyi Office extorted 1,500 yuan from my family and sent me back to Jiamusi City.
The police asked me if I would continue to practice Falun Gong. If I said yes, they would detain me, if not, they would let me go. I was not frightened. I said I would continue to practice Falun Gong. I was then sent to a detention center that night. All the Falun Gong practitioners who were held there began a hunger strike for six days, protesting the persecution. We were brutally force-fed. A policeman by the name of Luo grabbed my hair and slapped my face, since I was not cooperative with them. The guard force-fed us with salty water not food!
Yonghong District Police Department extorted 2,000 yuan from my family. Two hundred yuan went to the police who took me home. They also confiscated the 300 yuan in my pocket. A total of 6,000 yuan was extorted from me before the police released me. Five hundred and 200 yuan respectively were extorted from Falun Gong practitioners Shi Xiuwen and Guo Weishan. This is how we were treated when we attempted to clarify the truth and appeal for Falun Gong. I was harassed and illegally arrested, and our house was searched and property confiscated numerous times.
Youyi Office and Youyi Police Station made harassing phone calls and came to our house to harass us in 2001.
On February 4, 2002, the police came knocking and harassed us at our home three days in a row. Even on New Year's Eve, a policeman by the name of Liu Dianlong made a harassing phone call late at night and disturbed our family.
On June 17, 2002, I went to work. Policeman Liu Dianlong, along with the chief of the police station, searched my house and confiscated more of my property. They took Falun Gong books, Teacher's picture and an incense burner, as well as all the incense.
On December 13, 2002, the same group of people came back again like bandits, searched my house and confiscated even the money given to the children as a New Year gift! They took me to Youyi Road Police Station. I was sent to the detention center that night. I was held in the detention center for twenty days and was sentenced to a year and a half in a labor camp. I suffered inhuman abuse and torture in the labor camp. I refused to cooperate with the persecutors, refused to do the "homework," "weekly reports," and to shout propaganda. I was forced to sit from morning until 10:00 p.m., and received all types of corporal punishments. I was released on May 6, 2004.
On January 8, 2005, Liu Feng from Xinli Police Station raided my house and searched and confiscated my property, then took me to the detention center for twenty days. The police station extorted 2,000 yuan, Xiangyang District Police Department extorted 1,000 yuan, and the prison physician extorted 500 yuan from my family before they released me.
During the last several years, countless Falun Gong practitioners'
families have
been broken up and driven into poverty.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Qiu Li, from Fushun City, Liaoning Province, has constantly been persecuted for persisting in her belief. Currently, she is being brutally tortured in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
Ms. Qiu Li is from Qingyuan County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. She started to practice Falun Gong in the summer of 1998. During her practice, she experienced dramatic changes both mentally and physically. In less than one year after she started practicing Falun Gong, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong. Like thousands of Falun Gong practitioners in the country, Ms. Qiu was persecuted and tortured multiple times for believing in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," and for simply trying to be a better person.
After the persecution started on July 20, 1999, Qiu Li went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. She spent more than 100 days in Beijing. Although she had a very limited budget to live on, Ms. Qiu quietly tried her best to help others. She ate only steamed buns every day. One day, while sharing experiences with fellow practitioners, she was illegally arrested and detained. Since she refused to tell her name and address, the detention center called her "No. 23" [Note: Due to the CCP's policy of implicating Falun Gong practitioners' family members, local officials and work units, practitioners often refuse to give their name and addresses when they are arrested in Beijing.] Ms. Qiu did the exercises and resisted the physical punishment. The police officers shocked her head using electric batons.
On one occasion, a police officer took Qiu Li away. The police officer gave her a cup of water and told her to drink it. She only took a small sip and felt very sleepy. She felt as if something was wrong and thought, "I am a Falun Gong practitioner." She tried hard to regain control of herself, and slowly she recovered. At first, the police officer looked at her with bad intentions, and then he became surprised, and stared at her and with an astonished look. Later, Ms. Qiu was allowed to go back to her cell. After her return, Qiu Li remembered that a female practitioner who had been taken away before her looked mentally disordered after she came back, and her hair was messy. The police officer did not allow her to contact anyone else, and transferred the other practitioner to another cell. The police officer deprived her of sleep for three days and three nights.
Later, they deceived Ms. Qiu into telling her address. Before she left, the police gave her the arrest paperwork, saying that they would arrest her later. When she returned to the police station in Qingyuan County, her husband was already waiting for her. He took her home. Her husband had spent a lot of money for her release.
In December 1999, Qiu Li went to Beijing again to appeal for Falun Gong. She walked from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. in order to catch a train. On the train, she was arrested and later detained in the Jinzhou Forced Labor Camp. All her money was confiscated, and she was charged 120 yuan for two meals. Ms. Qiu was later sent to the Dasha Detention Center in Qingyuan County. The persecutors tried all means, but failed to "transform" her. She was then sent to the Fushun City Mental Hospital for futher persecution. There she told doctors that she was not ill, that she is a practitioner of Falun Gong, and she simply went to Beijing to call for justice for Falun Gong. Ms. Qiu helped take care of the patients and did cleaning. Later, her husband spent more than 10,000 yuan in order to get her released.
In December 2000, Qiu Li went to Beijing again together with other practitioners. They held banners with the words "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" on Tiananmen Square. Her husband found her. She was sent back to Dashagou Detention Center in Qingyuan County. Ms. Qiu held a hunger strike in order to protest the persecution. On January 23, 2001, she was "illegally sentenced" and sent to the Wujiabao Forced Labor Camp in Fushun City, Liaoning Province for a three-year term. Due to the intense pressure at the labor camp, she was forcibly "transformed," which reduced her term. Later, Ms. Qiu announced that the "transformation" was invalid. After her term was completed, the police personnel did not let her go. She was sent to the Fushun City Women's School for further persecution. At that school, she clarified the truth to the guards who were moved to tears, and they truly believed that Falun Dafa is good. On New Years 2002, the Political & Legal Department of Qingyuan County and her husband took her back home. Qiu Li thus returned back to the truth clarifation in an open and dignified manner.
On the day of the Dragon Festival in 2004, while she walked on the street, Ms. Qiu was arrested for no reason and taken to the Dasha Detention Center in Qingyuan County by Wang Xinchuan, Captain of the National Security Team from the Qingyuan Police Department, and Guan Yong, Deputy Captain of the First Police Branch of Fushun City. Three days later, she was sent to the First Police Branch of Fushun City and brutally tortured there. Ms. Qiu was then sentenced and sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for a three-year term. During her detention in the "Strict Control Team" of the Second Women's Camp at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, Ms. Qiu experienced inhuman torture through the program of "general re-education." She never gave in. She is now paralyzed and extremely thin due to the tortures she suffered. However, the prison administration still has no intention of releasing her so she can go home for medical treatment. Ms. Qiu's current situation is unknown. Practitioners who know anything about her current condition are urged to please let us know.
The persecution and torture of Qiu Li caused tremendous damage and
pain to
her family. Although they know that she is innocent, facing the
persecution by
the CCP, they feel truly hopeless and helpless and do not understand
her. Her
child is facing a college entrance exam, and her husband needs to work
and also
take care of their child. It is difficult for them.

On May 25, 2006, at around 5:00 p.m., Yang Yehai and three other agents from the Dafangshen Police Station in Dalianwan Town, Dalian City suddenly barged into the residence of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Kong Qingchun. The police did not show any identification passes and/or arrest warrant, yet they arrested Kong Qingchun, Ms. Qingchun's eldest son Song Lixin, another Falun Gong practitioner named Zhou Ruiying and Ms. Kong's granddaughter, a secondary school student. The police also confiscated all the electrical appliances from the residence. They took away the computers, tape recorders, electric irons, a printer and photocopier machine, and the house keys. The day after the arrests, waiting until no one was at home; the police abused their authority and entered Ms. Kong's residence, using either their master key or the keys they had confiscated the day before. They robbed the family of their remaining cash, totaling ten thousand yuan and other valuables in the house. The total loss the family sustained is still not fully accounted for.
Kong Qingchun and her son Song Lixin were transferred on May 26 from the Dafangshen Police Station and taken to the Yaojia Detention Center to be held and persecuted.
Ms. Kong Qinchun, almost 70 years old, persisted in her non-compliance with all the lawless personnel at the detention center and also shouted, "Falun Dafa is good" from time to time.
During the morning of July 3, at about 9:00 a.m., the police sent Kong Qingchun to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Along the way, Kong Qingchun clarified the truth about Falun Gong to the police and announced that the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp was a living hell that persecutes good people. She firmly declared she would not go there! The police responded by saying if her behavior was good, she would be released within two to three days. Kong Qingchun immediately replied never mind two to three days -- she did not want to be at that place for even one day or one minute! Around 2:00 p.m., they reached Masanjia. Kong Qingchun did not pass the physical examination and the camp refused to accept her. Policeman Yang Yehai then sent Kong Qingchun to the Yijia Hotel in Shenyang City and called Ms. Kong's two daughters-in-law to come to Shenyang City to take their mother-in-law home. The two women fetched Kong Qingchun and took her home.
Kong Qinglan's son Song Lixin was recently illegally sent to a
forced labor
camp for two years. His place of work, Dalian Primary School, dismissed
him and
stopped paying his wages. His daughter originally should have attended
the No.
80 Secondary School in Dalian City, but the school refused to enroll
her due to
the evil persecution. She had to return to her previous school. The
persecution
destroyed a harmonious family and threw them into a difficult situation
simply
because the family members want to be really good people. Song Lixin's
daughter
thought bitterly, "If father did not want to be a really good person,
the 80th secondary school would not have rejected me as a student.
Furthermore, I
would also not have lost my dear father. Why is it so difficult to be a
good
person? Why are the evil people so carefree instead?"
