Recently, MP Chris Hayes wrote to a Falun Gong practitioner in Ingleburn, Sydney, Australia, thanking the practitioner for informing him of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) atrocities of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit in China. MP Hayes included a letter from himself to Alexander Downer, the Minister for Foreign Affairs. Below is the text of the letter from MP Hayes to Minister Downer.
18 May 2006
Dear Minister,
I write on behalf of my constituents Ms. Julia Yi and Ms. Stacey Wang, who are both Falun Gong practitioners, regarding the allegations of persecution of fellow practitioners in China.
Both Ms. Yi and Ms. Wang have brought to my attention revelations of the existence of up to 36 concentration camps in China where Falun Gong practitioner have been detained and are suffering persecution.
Ms. Yi and Ms. Wang have also raised the existence of the International Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong On-site in China and they are seeking information on the actions of the Australian Government on the international stage to prompt a thorough and independent investigation into the allegations that have been made by Chinese Falun Gong practitioners.
I understand that the International Committee to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong On-site in China are seeking international support for their request to be allowed to undertake an investigation into the existence of concentration camps in China and the allegations of the harvesting and trade in the organs of Falun Gong practitioners.
Any information you could provide on the role the Australian Government is playing in the investigation of these allegations is appreciated.
Yours sincerely,
Chris Hayes, MP
