Cao Dong and his wife, Yang Xiaojing

One of the two Falun Gong practitioners who met with Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott, Vice President of the European Parliament, on May 21, 2006 in Beijing, is missing. It is believed he has been arrested by the CCP regime.

The person who facilitated the meeting, U.S. businessman Steve Gigliotti was abducted and had his head covered by plain-clothes policemen right after the meeting. He was interrogated over 24 hours and deported back to the U.S. He was forced to send a false cell-phone message, stating that he was "safe." Another practitioner, Mr. Niu Jinping, is currently being monitored at home.

Mr. McMillan-Scott announced the missing Falun Gong practitioner incident at the "Future of China" forum, and declared that he has requested an urgent meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to the EU next week. He hopes that the CCP can ensure that the Falun Gong practitioners return home safely, will not be harassed in the future, and will be allowed to practice Falun Gong freely.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cao Dong, 36, a graduate of the French Department, Beijing Foreign Language University, used to work as a interpretor in a travel agency. His wife, Yang Xiaojing, a computer engineer at the Beijing Power Supply and Design Institute, is in a labor camp and detained by the CCP because she practices Falun Gong. Although they have been married for many years, the couple has been together for only a few weeks because of the persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP.

After the CCP started the persecution of Falun Gong, Cao Dong was first detained in the Drug Rehabilitation Center in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for clarifying the truth to local people. On October 1, 2000, Mr. Cao Dong escorted his French clients onto an airplane as a tour guide, but he was harassed by police officers. Local policemen and National Security Agents checked with his boss, asked if he had overseas relatives, and threatened his boss that Falun Gong practitioners are not allowed to do work involving contacting foreigners, which caused him to lose his job. He had to leave home to avoid being arrested.

On the night of November 20, 2000, the police arrested Cao Dong at home. He was interrogated along with 20 fellow practitioners, and then transferred and detained in several detention centers in Beijing, including the Seventh Ward, which normally detains death row or long-term prisoners. In March 2001, a court in Beijing illegally sentenced a group of Falun Gong practitioners. Among them was Cao Dong, who was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. He was sent to a prison in Gansu Province, where he was born. In prison, Cao Dong didn't give up his belief in Falun Gong. Under persecution, he peacefully appealed to the prison guards, telling them about his personal experiences and the benefits he found while practicing Falun Gong, which made the guard admire his courage.

In 2005, Cao Dong was released and sent home, but at that time, his wife, Yang Xiaojing was detained in a labor camp. Not long after Cao Dong was sentenced, Yang Xiaojing was sent to a labor camp in 2001. She was detained in the Fifth Group of the Beijing City's Xin'an Labor Camp. Because she refused to give up her belief in Falun Gong, she was brutally tortured with different torture methods. After Yang Xiaojing returned home, the National Security Agents arrested and detained her again in April 2004. She was sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor. Because she firmly holds on to her belief, she was sent to the Second Section (a Section that deals with the most firm believers) of the Beijing Women's Labor Camp, where she was tortured even more ruthlessly.

In May 2006, the Vice President of the European Parliament, Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott went to China, Taiwan and Hong Kong to investigate the current human rights situation. On May 21, he met with Cao Dong and Mr. Niu Jinping. On the forum in Hong Kong, Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott said, "Last Sunday (May 21), I met with two Falun Gong practitioners in Beijing, because I want to know first hand how the CCP treats these peace-loving, nice, innocent Falun Gong practitioners. All they want is to continue cultivating Falun Gong. I heard their testimonies for about one hour."

Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott said that these two Falun Gong practitioners have all been detained by the CCP, and their wives are all detained right now in the labor camp, or detention center. He called on the CCP regime to ensure these two practitioners' safety, especially as they disappeared right after meeting with him.

On December 20, 2005, 29 Falun Gong practitioners were illegally arrested in Changde City and their Falun Gong truth-clarification materials production site was destroyed. Officers from the Wuling District Police Department in Changde City arrested the practitioners and held them at the No. 1 Detention Center in Changde City, at the No. 2 Detention Center of Changde City, in the Dingcheng District Detention Center in Changde City, the Li County Detention Center, the Jin City Detention Center and also the Taoyuan County Detention Center, among other places. The persecutors tried to obtain more "evidence" through interrogation.

On April 21, 2006, the Wuling District Procuratorate in Changde City issued a citation statement. In this statement the officials falsely accused Falun Gong practitioners, who follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, of being "members of a criminal gang." The accused practitioners are Guo Zhaoqing, Yin Hong, Wang Xiaoqun, Yang Bin, Zhang Chuntao, Shi Yuhua, He Silian, Yang Dongzhi and Xiong Bifang. They singled out Falun Gong practitioner Guo Zhaoqing from Yiyang who had gone into exile to avoid persecution as the "head perpetrator."

Guo Zhaoqing had been holding a hunger strike since his arrest to protest the illegal detention, and escaped from the Li County Hospital on April 23, 2006 with the power of righteous thoughts. The police immediately issued a public "wanted " notice for Guo Zhaoqing. On April 28, agents from the Wuling District Procuratorate issued another Statement of Claim under the same number as the previous one, in which they deleted the sections involving Guo Zhaoqing. In this newly-released statement, they groundlessly charged the other eight practitioners. They accused the practitioners of violating Article 300 of the Criminal Law Code because they made and disseminated truth clarification materials, which constitutes "using a [slanderous term omitted] to disrupt the administration of law." They named seven practitioners aside from Xiong Bifang as "ringleaders of a criminal group" and plotted heavy sentences for them.

All eight practitioners have been persecuted (see information following this article) by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for persisting in their Falun Gong practice, upholding their belief and for clarifying the truth to people. They have experienced all kinds of tribulations but remained determined. They hope to awaken each person deceived by the CCP's lies with their pure and kind hearts.

With their adherence to wicked Party doctrines, these Wuling District Police Department agents in Changde City and those from the Wuling District Procuratorate enthusiastically followed the persecution policies and fabricated charges against Falun Gong practitioners, calling them "members of a criminal gang." We urgently call for all kind people in the world to extend a helping hand! Together we can rescue the innocent Falun Gong practitioners in Changde City who are being persecuted; let's help them regain their freedom and reunite them with their families!

Additional information about the eight falsely-convicted Falun Gong practitioners, and Guo Zhaoqing

Ms. Yin Hong, 34 years old, lived at Room 4, Floor 1, Building 2-11, the Ziqiao District, Changde City. She was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor in May 2002 and is now being held in the 1st Detention Center in Changde City.

Ms. Wang Xiaoqun, 56 years old, lived at Room 8, Floor 3, Building 8, No. 99 Wujiaohua Dormitory, East Jianshe Road, Changde City. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor in November 2000 and is now being held at the No. 2 Detention Center in Changde City.

Mr. Yang Bin, 46 years old, lived in the Changde City Commerce Bureau dormitory on East Jianshe Road in Changde City. He was detained for 15 days in September 2002 and is now being held in the 1st Detention Center in Changde City.

Ms. Zhang Chuntao, also called Zhang Yaomei, 57 years old, lived in Group 6, Tangjiarong Village, Dongjiao Township, Wuling District, Changde City. She was sentenced to one-and-a-half years of forced labor in November 2002. The officials monitored her residence in violation of the law. She is now being held in the 1st Detention Center in Changde City

Ms. Shi Yuhua, 36 years old, lived in Tangjiarong Village, Dongjiao Township, Wuling District, Changde City. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor in November 2000 and escaped with the power of righteous thoughts after her May 2005 arrest. She is now being held at the Jin City Detention Center and is holding a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

Ms. He Silian, 42 years old, lived in Fuhua Village, Jinggang Town, Huarong County. She is now being held at the Dingcheng District Detention Center in Changde City.

Ms. Yang Dongzhi, 71 years old, lived in Tangjiarong Village, Dongjiao Township, Wuling District, Changde City. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor in November 2002. The officials monitored her residence in May 2005 violation of the law, but she escaped later with the power of righteous thoughts. She is now being held at the Taoyuan County Detention Center.

Ms. Xiong Bifang, 65 years old, lived at Building 5 in the Wujiaohua Dormitory on East Jianshe Road in Changde City. She was sentenced to one-and-a-half years of forced labor in November 2000 and was released on medical parole in February 2006.

Ms. Guo Zhaoqing, 34 years old, lived at 4 North Kangfu Road in Yiyang City. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor in January 2001 but escaped with the power of righteous thoughts after her June 2004 arrest. The persecutors have issued a reward notice for his capture.

Other Falun Gong practitioners who were recently persecuted in Changde City: Yi Zhongqing, Wu Daolian, Jian Qiuying, Wen Xiaoli, Wang Xiaolin, Jiang Minqing, Huang Guihua and Xu Qiuzhen; were arrested on July 4, 2005 and have been sentenced to prison.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Liantie was illegally sentenced to an eleven year prison term. Since he persisted in clarifying the truth of Falun Gong, he was fatally tortured at the Panjin City Prison, Liaoning Province in May 2006. The prison did not send him to the hospital until he had passed away.

Mr. Wu Liantie, 48, lived in Huangbei Village, Ciyutuo Town, Liaozhong County, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. He began practicing Falun Gong in July, 1998. He was acknowledged as a good person in his village.

Since the CCP launched the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, unlawful police officials and the 610 Office raided Mr. Wu Liantie's home often to harass his family. As a result, his living environment worsened. His entire family had no choice but to abandon their house. They were homeless between the spring of 2001 and 2002. No matter what situation Mr. Wu encountered, he persevered in cultivating Falun Gong.

On April 13, 2005, when Mr. Wu Liantie was on lunch break from his farming work, he was arrested by Li Wei, head of the National Security Group, and five or six other policemen from the Police Substation of Ciyutuo Town. They took him to the First Detention Center of Liaozhong County and tortured him. He was also detained in the Zhangshi Brainwashing Center of Shenyang City.

In December 2005, Wu Liantie was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment and detained in the 3^rd Group of  Panjin Prison. Wu Liantie persisted in clarifying the truth in prison and exposing the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong.

On May 24, 2006, the Panjin City Prison told Mr. Wu's family members to come to the prison. When they arrived, they found that the body of Wu Liantie had already been placed in the freezer of the Panjin City funeral service center. The cause and time of his death was unknown. The person who saw Wu Liantie said that Wu had been sent to the second hospital of Panjin for rescue. However, upon investigation, the hospital said that Wu Liantie had already died before arriving at the hospital.

Led by director Li Jun from the Jilin Education Department and managed by director Zheng Xun from the Office of People's Affairs, many officials are involved in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners at the universities throughout Jilin Province.

Recently the Jilin Education Department has persecuted Falun Gong practitioners at the universities in the following ways: stopping their wages, threatening expulsion, forcing them to write a Guarantee Statement, and sending the practitioners who refuse to write a "Guarantee Statement" to brainwashing centers.

Li Jun started at the Jilin Education Department in November 2003. As soon as he was in office, he issued an order to target the Falun Gong practitioners that worked or studied at Jilin universities and had not been persuaded to give up the practice. In the document, all universities in Jilin Province were told to "transform" 100% of practitioners by the end of 2005. Soon after, many practitioners were suspended from their jobs and their salaries were stopped. For example, in Changchun City authorities at Northeast Normal University and the Chaoyang Local Police Station apprehended teacher and practitioner Mr. Wang Huilian and took him to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp for "re-education through forced labor." Also, after teacher Ms. Lui Xin, from the Changchun University Chinese [Language] Department, was released from a labor camp, she had to leave her job due to unbearable harassment from the university managers.

Therefore, we are suggesting to the staff of the Education Department and the universities in Jilin Province, who participate in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, that you should follow your consciences and do what is right during the unprecedented persecution so that you will have a bright future. Don't be enticed by immediate but temporary benefits. You should clearly distinguish good from evil and stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.

The personnel at the Nanhu Farm Forced Labor Camp have used extremely despicable and cruel methods to persecute more than 50 Falun Gong practitioners who are illegally imprisoned there.

Mr. Lu Qinghai, 61 years old, was subjected to physical punishment by being hung up from the window bars for 7 days and nights. During that period, several people used electric batons to shock him repeatedly. On another occasion, because Mr. Lu did not say a number clearly, police officer Zhang Youquan forced him to face the wall, and then ordered several criminal inmates to beat him for about half an hour. Zhang also ordered a hoodlum to stuff part of a shovel handle into Mr. Lu's mouth so as to not allow him to make a sound. It was stirred back and forth, injuring his mouth and tongue and causing bleeding. Then, Zhang still forced Mr. Lu to face the wall to stand for an extended period.

After this ordeal, besides having to perform heavy physical labor, Lu Qinhai was forced to stand facing a wall for over eight hours and had a month added to his prison term. Mr. Lu lived in Daqiaoxin Village, Chengguan Town, Shitai County, Chizhou City. Because he persisted in practicing Falun Gong, he was illegally arrested by the local police station and was imprisoned at Nanhu Farm. The police did not follow any lawful procedures during the arrest and even robbed Mr. Lu of 17,000 yuan and a deposit book. The deposit book was eventually returned upon demand, but the 17,000 yuan in cash has not been returned.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Haisheng was hung from the iron window bars for 5 days and nights by police officer Zhang Youquan because he refused to give up practicing Falun Gong. After that, he was punished by being forced to stand for 3 days and nights. Each day, besides being forced to work long hours at grueling work, he was also forced to stand facing a wall for ten hours.

Because he persisted in his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Hongming was hung from the iron window bars 7 days and nights. Another time, he was hung for another 15 nights. He suffered greatly from such inhumane treatment. Many of those hung from the window bars were forced to wear thick headgear. The torturers frequently tightened ropes around the headgear, making it difficult to breathe.

Another Falun Gong practitioner was hung from the iron window bars, and the police ordered more than 100 criminal inmates to spit on him.

Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Bai Shijun and his wife are from the Songling area of Daxing'anling area in Heilongjiang Province. On January 19, 2005, they were distributing truth clarifying materials in Linhai County, Xinlin. Somebody reported them to the police, who then illegally arrested and detained them. In October 2005, Mr. and Mrs. Bai were each sentenced to four years in prison. That same month, Mr. Bai was detained and persecuted at Tailai Prison in Heilongjiang Province. Now he is being detained in the 3rd Squadron of the 2nd Group.

On April 24, 2006, Bai Yulong, Mr. Bai Shijun's son, received a phone call from Tailai Prison. He was told that his father's health was very precarious and that he should be prepared to take his father home for medical treatment. When Bai Yulong went to the prison to see his father, he found him panting heavily after taking only a few steps. Mr. Bai, who used be very healthy, has now developed serious kidney failure, heart problems, and other sicknesses. His whole body is swollen.

When Mr. Bai Shijun was detained, he showed symptoms of many kinds of illnesses. Because of this, he could hardly fall asleep during the night or move about during the day to build up his health. Other cell mates complained to the police about him. Lin Xiaohai, one of the prison guards, assaulted Mr. Bai without even asking any questions or giving any reason. As a result, Mr. Bai's health suddenly became much worse. The prison had to call his family. When his son, Bai Yulong, came to the prison, the head of the No. 3 Squad told him that he needed to go through the necessary formalities to take his father out of the prison temporarily for medical treatment. He needed to submit a 1,000 yuan medical examination fee and also a 2,500-yuan guarantee that his father would return to the prison. Then they told Bai Yulong to go home and wait to hear from the prison.

On May 1, worried about his father's condition, Bai Yulong went to visit him in the prison again. He discovered that the prison had not submitted his father's health report to the next level as part of the process of applying for temporary leave from the prison for medical treatment. He was again told to return home and wait for news. On May 8, Bai Yulong and other relatives went to the prison again to visit Mr. Bai Shilong, but their request was turned down. The prison officials presented a document from the Provincial government saying that, because of an epidemic inside the prison, the family was not permitted to see Bai Shijun. When his relatives questioned the police about Bai's condition, the police told them that he was not receiving any medical treatment in any hospital but was being detained in a cell.

By May 8^, the prison still hadn't reported Mr. Bai Shijun's seriously bad health to their superiors so that he could leave the prison temporarily for medical treatment. When his family members negotiated with the prison, the prison made lots of excuses and said that they were going through certain formalities that prolonged the process. All Bai Shijun's family could do was to wait anxiously. According to the law, if a person who is detained in prison shows symptoms of sickness while being detained, all the costs for medical examinations and treatment should be borne by the prison where the person is detained. However, the prison wanted Bai Shijun's family to pay those costs. Bai Yulong has already lost his job because the place where he used to work has closed. He doesn't even know how to support himself, let alone how to save enough money to help his father.

It's been a month since the prison notified Bai Shijun's family members to apply for his temporary leave from the prison for medical treatment, but nothing has happened. We are really worried about his health condition.

In addition, Mr. Yi Fuquan, a practitioner from Shuangcheng, is being detained in the 2nd Group in the 8th Ward in the prison. Due to the persecution, his left hand muscles have withered and he cannot use his hand to do any work. His family asked to take him out of the prison temporarily for medical treatment, but their request was refused. Mr. Pan Hong Dong, a practitioner from Qiqiha'er, was persecuted to death on May 15, 2005, at Tailai Prison. His body showed many bruises. There were bloodstains at the corners of his mouth and in his ears and nostrils. On his chest, there were a round bruises. Many bloodstains could be found on his back and leg.

In November, 2000, I was illegally sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp. I served the term and was persecuted in Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp in Guangdong Province. With the help of the U.S government, international organizations as well as Falun Gong practitioners, I regained my freedom on January 13, 2004 and went to the United States to be reunited with my family on September 11, 2004.

From September 30 to November 28, 2001, Mao Dan, a policeman who works at Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp ordered the leader as well as other persons from Class 308 to force me to wear the badge of the strictly controlled zone. If I refused to wear it, they would not allow me to leave the room to get my lunch. An elderly lady in the same room sympathized with me and gave me some cookies secretly. Some of the young university students who just began to learn Falun Gong and were illegally arrested, brought my lunch several times but soon were stopped by the camp guards. The pressure became more and more severe, and as a result nobody dared to help me i the end. For about two months, they refused to let me eat. They said to me shamelessly, "It's up to you" which meant, "If you agree to wear the badge, you can eat, otherwise…"

During these two months, I survived on a box of rice noodles which I had brought with me. With each package weighing about 1.5 oz., the total weight of the box was about 5 pounds. Gradually, I could only eat rice noodles once a day to make them last. In order to prepare the rice noodles (to put rice noodles in boiled water until they become very soft), I needed hot water. Warden He Chunling began to shout and said that I was lazy and never worked, but only enjoyed the result of other people's work. She would not allow me to use hot water and said that she would guard the hot water so that I could not touch it. Everyone in the room resented what she did. At that time someone in my room disclosed the secret that I used tap water to prepare rice noodles, and they were all shocked: rice noodles are different from instant noodles, as they are much harder and more difficult to make soft when soaked in the tap water.

Warden He Chunling is from Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. Later, she became the leader the 2nd Group. As a result, she did not need to go to the workshop, but just enjoyed life. She used the "hot and spicy soup" torture method on Chen Haixia, and cruelly tortured Lai Chunying. She played a main role in persecuting Du Yuhua, A Chong, Deng Mei and other practitioners. She ordered me to go to the workshop and used evil means to torture me. She did not allow me to get much rest. As a result I almost lost vision in both eyes. The wardens were also responsible for my persecution.

When I was in solitary confinement, I was monitored all day. During the years I was there, I heard that there were physical examinations. Sometimes, there were doctors sitting right in the lobby downstairs to measure blood pressure. There were many activities in the forced labor camps in China: a fire drill today, a physical examination tomorrow, etc. Once in 2003, almost all the Falun Gong practitioners were asked to have a physical examination, including a blood test, electrocardiogram, etc. At that time, it seemed to be very strange. It was unknown whether these were done to deal with overseas public opinion or to deceive the outside world or the Guangdong Province's attempt to show some "political achievements" to deceive the public, as well as other purposes. They also sent Falun Gong practitioners to secret places to be tortured. Later when these Falun Gong practitioners were brought back, they were seriously injured in both body and mind.

Sanshui Forced Labor Camp was very effective in isolating practitioners from each other. Sometimes I was not even aware of who was confined in the room next to mine for a very long time. In addition, the Falun Gong practitioners who were arrested in previous years had already been transferred to different groups. Nobody knew their names. As for whether they were released after serving their terms, or if they were not released, and where they were sent often remained a mystery. Some of the practitioners from the countryside were arrested several years earlier and detained in other places. There was one practitioner that had no family visitors, and never received letters or packages. I heard there were more practitioners like her. However, I cannot remember her name. All I can remember now is that she was in the 4th Group. Only this information was given to me by other practitioners in 2001.

A little while ago, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) declared that they have developed some kind of system that can recognize peoples' voice during phone communications. Through this system, they can recognize the identity of the speakers in communication. At present, this system has gradually been promoted for wider use.

If they want to track and recognize a specific person's voice, they first of all need to get a sample of this person's voice on the phone, so they first need to record some section of this person's voice over the phone. As long as your voice on the phone is recorded, then no matter where, when or through what communication device you are making a phone call, this system can recognize you.

For example, the CCP spy already knows that a certain person is a Falun Gong practitioner and has this practitioner's home phone number. Before this voice recognition system was developed, it would be very difficult for spies to find out practitioners' mobile numbers. However, after this voice recognition system was developed, it became fairly easy for spies to use this system to recognize the practitioner's voice and get practitioners' phone numbers through this voice recognition system. But the precondition is that spies have to first record this practitioner's voice on the phone.

Recently, many Falun Gong practitioners' home phones received some strange calls in the name of a so-called "market survey." The questions asked by the "surveyor" seem harmless on the surface, but in fact aim to record your voice and save your voice in this "voice recognition system." In the future, whenever you make phone calls, this system will know who is calling. Even if you change to a new mobile phone number or change both mobile phone and home phone number, or use a public phone to make phone calls, this "voice recognition system" can recognize who is making phone calls and also record your phone conversations.

It is not difficult to prevent the harm from the "voice recognition system" of CCP spies and one way to do so is not to allow them to record your voice. We should not participate in any of the so-called "market surveys" or "phone interviews." When we answer the phone calls and find the other party is not familiar, we should not talk to them. If some Falun Gong practitioners know that their voices have been recorded, then they should not use the phone to organize Falun Gong activities. In this case, it is better to use email or talk to others in person.

Moreover, if you can hear the echo of your own voice when you talk on a mobile phone, it means that your own mobiles have very likely been tapped.

Everything that the CCP is doing targets Falun Gong, as does this voice recognition system. Because after July 20, 1999, Jiang Zemin and the CCP have treated Falun Gong as their number one enemy and treat the persecution of Falun Gong as their number one mission. Therefore, at this time when the CCP is heading for destruction, we not only should do three things well and strengthen our righteous thoughts, but also improve our technical security. We should not leave any loopholes for the CCP to exploit.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Chen Lifang Persecuted until Mentally Disordered at Daxing Women's Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Chen Lifang, a Falun Gong practitioner from the Chongwen District of Beijing, was reported by someone while she was clarifying the truth. The police later arrested her on Chinese New Year's eve in Tiantan. She has been suffering brutal torture since then. At present, Ms. Chen is in the Seventh Team of the Daxing Women's Forced Labor Camp in Beijing. According to some sources, she has been on hunger strike to protest the persecution. At present she is in very weak physical condition. Her weight dropped quickly and she once became mentally disordered for several days.

Daxing Women's Forced Labor Camp, Seventh Team Telephone: 86-10-60278899-5701

Mr. Feng Huang, about 30 years old and a practitioner, is an engineer from Guangzhou Geochemistry Research Institute. On April 19, 2006, while at work, he was arrested by the 610 Office and is now "illegally detained" at the Guangzhou City Politics and Law Educational School in Guangzhou City and being severely persecuted.

On the morning of April 30, Mr. Feng's parents went to Guangzhou City Politics and Law Educational School to see him. He was extremely weak and needed help and support from others to get to the visiting area. He had no strength to talk, and haltingly told his parents that from April 19 to the 20, he was ordered to stand facing a wall and was not allowed to squat. His whole body cramped and the clinic gave him a shot of glucose and calciumbut he was still cramped. Later on they gave him an IV, although he did not know what it contained. After the IV, whenever he ate something, he would vomit. After that, he had to rely on the IV to keep him alive. On April 21, they sent him to Land Force General Hospital to have a checkup. On April 25, they sent him to the same hospital again and the doctor said he was vomiting due to a nervous system abnormality.

At present, Mr. Feng Huang is having headaches, feels light-headed, and has backaches. He cannot fall asleep and keeps vomiting.

On April 26, several practitioners from Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province, were arrested. They were Mr. Liu Quanxing, Mr. Liu Duansheng, Mr. Zhao Yan (from Dongfeng County), Ms. Lu Chunyun, Ms. Xiang Lijie (from Taiwan), Mr. Zhang Shunhong, Mr. Luan Aimin (from Dongshang Street), Mr. Ma Baogui (from Lingyun Township), Ms. Liu Xiangzhuo, and Ms. Ji Xuechun.

After 3 p.m. on May 11, two to three police officers from the Anda City National Security Team broke into Mr. Liu Wenhua's home. He was the only one at home at that time. They took away a portrait of the Teacher of Falun Gong, a set of Falun Gong books, a Walkman, a set of CDs to help children learn English and several other CDs; they also took Mr. Liu with them. Later on, his family members went to the police station to ask about his whereabouts with the intention of bringing him home. Liu Yingshan, the team leader of the National Security Team and the one in charge, said that Mr. Liu Wenhua was detained in the Anda Administrative Detention Center. They said they would not release him unless his family paid enough money.

Around 9:30 p.m. on May 11, Zou Hong from the Yumen City National Security Team and Cao Jun from the Beiping Police Station in Yumen City and another eight or nine people broke into practitioner Ms. Lu Yarong's home. Ms. Lu is an elementary school teacher. They arrested her. In order to prevent her husband, Mr. Feng Xuewen, from interfering, two police officers dragged him away while the other two police carried Ms. Lu downstairs. (Two former attempts to arrest her were not successful because of her husband's courageous attitude towards the police.) After they got downstairs, Ms. Lu refused to be taken away and they both refused to give ground for half an hour. Eventually the police took her away.

The next day, Ms. Lu's husband went to the police station to ask why they had arrested her. They told him that one of her students tried to tell the truth to his parents and the parents reported the incident. They said they would send Ms. Lu to a forced labor camp for one and a half years. While Ms. Lu was in the detention center for those few days, she was on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

On February 28, 2006, practitioners from Jilin City, including Ms. Mu Chunmei, Mr. Liu Mingwei, and Mr. Hao Yuefeng, went to see fellow practitioner Mr. Hao Fukui in the hospital. While they were in the hospital, they were arrested and are now detained in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Since their arrests, Ms. Mu Chunmei and Mr. Liu Mingwei have not cooperated with the police. In the labor camp, Ms. Mu would not wear the name card or the uniform. Now she is being forced to lie on a Death Bed and has been separated from everyone else. She is covered with scabies. The forced labor camp has tried to blackmail her family into paying for her treatment.

In addition, on May 10, Ms. Mu and Mr. Liu's families authorized someone to send in their requests for administrative discussions about their cases to the Dalian City Government legal department, asking to be unconditionally released. They also requested a retraction of the illegal decision to sentence them to forced labor and asked for compensation for economic losses they have suffered.

April 2004, practitioner Mr. Zhao Hongli was illegally arrested by the police. In January 2005, Shuangta District Court sentenced Mr. Zhao and detained him in Panjin Jail in Liaoning Province. In October 2005, he began a hunger strike to protest his illegal detention and persecution. It has been over seven months.

Since then, Mr. Zhao's physical condition has deteriorated and the situation has become critical. He was transferred to the 5th Group of Panjin Jail--the hospital section--for further persecution by compelling him to accept treatment. In April 2006, the jail notified his family that his life hung in the balance. His family went to Panjin Jail and talked to the administration department, trying to negotiate his release. Jail authorities did not agree and, instead, transferred him to the General Hospital at the Jail Administrative Bureau of Liaoning Province (located in Pingluo Township, Masanjia, Shenyang) for further persecution. His family members went to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp and tried actively to rescue him.

Guangdong practitioners Mr. Lu Pingyi and his wife. Ms. Zhou Meilin, are now detained in the Huicheng District Detention Center at Huizhou City. Each was sentenced to eight years of forced labor.

On the night of May 23, Mr. Lu and Ms. Zhou went to see a fellow practitioner to give him truth clarifying materials. The materials were confiscated by police that were following them. That night, the police arrested the couple in their apartment and took away their computer and printer.

Recently, according to some insiders, Mr. Lu and Ms. Zhou were each secretly sentenced to eight years in a forced labor camp. Due to long-term hunger strikes, both of Ms. Zhou's feet are paralyzed. Their daughter, whose name is Beibei, is now destitute and homeless.

Around May 1, 2006, practitioner Ms. He, about 60, from the Tiexi District of Shenyang City, was distributing truth-clarification materials. Officers from the Zhonggong Police Station in the Tiexi District arrested her. Details of that event are still under investigation.

11. [Chengdu, Sichuan] Practitioners Ms. Li Shujuan and Mr. Hongge Arrested

In the morning on May 12, 2006, while they were clarifying the truth at Baimasi Temple, practitioner Ms. Li Shujuan (44 years old) and Mr. Hongge (56 years old), were arrested by the police from North People's Road Police Station in Chengdu. At present they are detained in the Pi County Detention Center.

13. [Tangshan, Hebei Province] Practitioner Ms. Miao Liqun Arrested by the 610 Office

Ms. Miao Liqun, 46 years old, from Leting County, Tangshan City, works at the County Hospital. On May 11, 2006, she was arrested by the 610 Office.

On May 14, around 8:30 p.m., practitioners Ms. Jiang Zhiqiu and Ms. Zhang Jing were posting some flyers to help rescue five detained practitioners. They were noticed by police hiding in the area and were then arrested.

Since April, seven practitioners have been arrested and persecuted in Donggang City.

Ms. Chen Wei (also known as Chen Weiwei), over 40 years old, is a resident of Haogezhuang Township, Zhu City, who was working in the cafeteria of the Cooling Storage Factory of the Foreign Trade Company in Zhu City. On May 10, 2006, at around 10 a.m., Ms. Chen was deceived into going to the factory's security department and was then handed over to the police from Mizhou Road Police Station, who had been waiting there for her.

That same morning, the police and the security people went to her apartment and illegally searched it. They took away her Falun Gong books and some of the truth-clarification materials. They detained her in Zhu City Detention Center and then ransacked her home.

On April 15, 2006, the Huayuan Road Police Station in Haidian District, Beijing, arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Song Xiuyun. She is now illegally detained in the Qinghe Detention Center.

After Ms. Han Shuhua was arrested, she was detained in the Yaojia Detention Center. At present, sources have informed us that the National Security Team and the political and law section at Ganjingzi Police Department have reported her case to the Forced Labor Educational Department in Dalian and are planning to send her to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang for further persecution.

At 2p.m. of April 25, Ms. Gao Huating, a retired teacher from the Beijing Central Finance and Economics University was abducted in her home by the security people from her work unit and police from the Niujie police station at Xuanwu District.

In addition, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liao Yiping, a retired teacher from the Beijing Central Finance and Economics University was abducted on March 2, by police from Xuanwu District. Nobody knows any more news about her. They would not allow her family members to visit her.

Ms. Miao Yuaying and Ms. Zhang Aiying from Sujiazekou Village, Jiangshan Town were arrested by the police from Jiangshan Police Department because they posted a truth clarifying banner in public at 2:00 a.m. on May 13, 2006. On the morning of May 13, they were taken to a place of detention in Laixi City and put into prison.

Practitioner Ms. Sun Ling and her husband from Landi Town, Pingdu City, were arrested by the village and town government gang of 610 officers on May 5. They were detained in the 610 offices and are suffering persecution.

On May 3, 2006, Ms. Yang Xiuling from the Chuanhui District, Zhoukou City, Henan Province, and Mr. Liang Mingli from Bankou Township were arrested by police. They were detained in the Zhoukou Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Ruihua, who was in the Chuanhui District People's Hospital, has already been sent to Shibalihe Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City.

On the morning of April 25, 2006, He Yuhui, the chief of the Nanzhan Police Station in Zhangjiakou City, came with two police officers to practitioner Ms. Chen Aihong's house and tried to force her to write "Falun Dafa is good" to identify her handwriting in order to arrest her. She said, "I am not going to cooperate with you" and did not write anything. Ms. Chen did clarify the truth to them. On the morning of April 30 at 9:00 am, three police came to her house again and forced her to go with them. Ms. Chen refused to cooperate, so the three officers picked her up and put her into the police car and took her to Xuanhua Party College in Zhangjiakou. That night they called her family to bring some clothes for her. On May 1, her husband and brother brought clothes to her and saw her briefly. They also recognized an old couple, also practitioners, who had been detained there for two years. Their specific situation remains unknown.

Practitioners Ms. Yang Chunlan, 41, and Mr. Yang Ge, 19, are from Doudian Town, Fangshan District in Beijing. On June 8, 2005, they were distributing Falun Gong materials in 145 Wangshishan Village, Miaocheng Town, Huairou District, when the police arrested them. It was heard that Ms. Yang Chunlan is currently in Douzhuang, Chaoyang District, near the Seventh Division of Beijing Police Department.

It's been nearly a year and the authorities have never allowed their relatives to visit, so their situations are really unknown.

Practitioner Ms. He Xianzhen was arrested by the Xichang City National Security Team. She is now in Tuohuang Detention Center. It was heard that the National Security Team had intended to extort a larage amount of money from this poor family for her release.

City National Security officers arrested practitioner Ms. Liu Liyuan from Zhangqiu City in the early morning of May 4 before she even got out of bed. On May 11, practitioners Ms. Zhao Fengying, Ms. Sun, and Mr. Zhang Qiwen were arrested by the Zhangqiu City police. They confiscated their truth clarification materials and equipment.

On May 1, Jiang Zemin was in Zhangqiu City, Shangdong Province. On May 11, tofficials from the Zhangqiu 610 Office Shi Jingwu, Yu Baoqian, Yang Bingliang and others came to the home of practitioners Ms. Zhao Fengying and Mr. Zhang Shu. They looted their house and robbed it of equipment, truth materials, and cash. They also arrested Ms. Zhao Fengying, Ms. Sun Fanglan, and Mr. Zhang. On May 13, they went to Mr. Lu's house, looted it, and arrested Mr. Lu. Now these four practitioners are detained in Zhangqiu Detention Center and are being persecuted.

On April 22, practitioner Mr. Zhao Jing from Zichuan District, Zibo City, was arrested by the 610 Office and National Security Group from Huantai City. He is still detained in Fujia Town Detention Center, Zhangdian District, Zibo City.

On the evening of May 9, practitioner Ms. Qin Shixiu, over 50 years old, from Jiuquan City was arrested by police while passing out truth materials. That night, Ms. Qin's house was looted. She is being detained in the Jiuquan Police Department. In November 2002, Ms. Qin was illegally sentenced to forced labor for three years. Her husband has been under tremendous pressure, which has caused him health problems, and there is now no one to take care of him.

Mr. Hu Huiping, in his 20s, from Jiujiang County, Jiangxi Province, worked at the Tuoli Technology Company in Jiangxi Province after he graduated from college. While he was in college, his health was very poor. After he had started to practice Falun Gong, his physical condition has improved and strengthened significantly.

On the afternoon of April 21, 2006, when he was clarifying the truth to people in front of the gate of the Hongdu Steel Factory in Nanchang (Changbei), someone reported him to the police from Jiaoqiao Police Station of  Changbei District, and they arrested him. He is being detained in the First Detention Center in Nanchang City.

Practitioner Mr. Fu Minhua from Harbin worked in Shenzhen. He has been missing since he went out to clarify the truth around 9:30 p.m. on May 14, 2006

On the afternoon of May 13, practitioner Ms. Wang Xuemin was passing out Falun Gong truth materials around Risheng Village in the Fengman District in Jilin City. He was reported by someone and was arrested by 610 Office agents. He was sent to Dachangtun Police Station and then to the Fengman Branch of the Police Department. Now he is in the Jilin Detention Center.

On May 13, 2006, 9:30 practitioners Ms. Zhang Fenglin, Ms. Huang Fengqin, Ms. Jia Yurong, and Ms. Zhang Xiulan were arrested while passing out Falun Gong materials in Donggou Village, Tangquan Township. They were recently sent to a brainwashing center. At present, Ms. Huang Fengqin is confined to a separate room under the direct control of Hu Weigang.

On Feburary 14, 2006, practitioner Mr. Zhao Aijun was arrested in Shihezi City, Xinjiang Province. At present he is still detained in the First Detention Center in Shihezi City.

According to a reliable source, at the end of April, the police department had already filed the legal papers concerning him with the Judicial Bureau in Shihezi City.

Recently, practitioners in Wuwei City, Gansu Province, have been forced to endure serious persecution. Before the New Year, the authorities arrested several practitioners in Jinsha Village, Hongxiang Town. Three of the practitioners have been sent to the Lanzhou Forced Labor Camp. At the end of last month, they sentenced four other practitioners. These practitioners have already appealed.

Two of the practitioners were subjected to serious torture and have a hard time walking. After being released on bail, they were arrested again for no reason. One of them is Ms. Hou Juhua. She still has trouble walking. They arrested her, too. Her son and husband, both practitioners, are still in jail and being persecuted. Another one is Ms. Gu Yuzhen. She is almost 70 years old and was arrested once again. In April 2004, her husband, Wei Xinghua, was persecuted to death in the Wuwei Third Jail. (The jail sent him home, and he died the next day.)

At present, there are five practitioners who have been persecuted to death in this area. Also 26 practitioners are still suffering from serious persecution in jails, forced labor camps, and places of detention.

Practitioner Ms. Wu Junying was "illegally arrested" and detained by the police. On March 31, 2006, she died while in detention.

According to sources, on March 31, the Beijing Woman's Forced Labor Camp had called Wu Junying's relative, Li Puhua, and to say that Ms. Wu was sick, hoping the family would come to see her.

According to the doctor, the patient Wu Junying was already dead when she arrived at the hospital, and the time of death was before March 30. Thus the hospital did not perform any emergency procedures.

On May 13, in Jinan Jail, the families of several practitioners from Shouguang City came to visit them, but the jail authorities denied any visits. This made the families worry very much. They started to wonder if the practitioners were still in the jail. They wondered if things like the Sujiatun case might have happened there, too.

The authorities from the 610 office and other related departments in Panshi County, Jillin Province, have interfered with local people watching overseas TV programs by satellite. They pressured the TV station to prohibit the installation of satellite equipment. Anyone found with this equipment is reported to the police. They also set up a number for reporting. The host of this program is anchor person Hou Ye of the Panshi TV station.

According to the students' parents, the rules in Mianyang Junior High School show that the best of the first 200 students in each grade must join the Communist Youth League, no exceptions. Otherwise, even the students who have passed the enrollment test for Mianyang High School will not be accepted by the school.

1. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Hongwei Tortured to Skin and Bone but Jilin Province Prison Denies His Release

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Hongwei from Tonghua City is still detained in the Hospital of the Jilin No. 2 Prison. He has been tortured until he is skin and bones. The paperwork regarding his release on medical bail has been sent to the administration office of Jilin Province Prison. Recently, the officials of the Administration Bureau told Mr. Zhang's family members that his health status does not fall under official criteria. Only when tuberculosis of the lung is advanced (cavities appear in the lung) can an inmate be released on medical bail. It is not certain whether his application can be allowed.

Mr. Zhang Hongwei's father-in-law was released after he was tortured to critical condition and he died nine days later.

2. [Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Xin Held Hunger Strike for More than Twenty Days

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Xin, a PhD candidate at Qinghua University, is detained in the Huazi Prison in Liaoyang City. As of May 20, 2006, Mr. Wang Xin had been on hunger strike for 22 days. He was mistreated during this period and tortured till he was very weak.

On the morning of May 12, 2006, Li Taoli (male), Li Yongxing (male) and other two policemen, ordered by the Raoyang County Police Department Head Li Hongshui (male), arrested practitioner Ms. Li Suting, who lives in the Man Township. They ransacked her house and confiscated her MP3 player.

Since July 20, 1999, Ms. Li has been harassed several times. She was detained in the detention center of the Ranyang County Police Department. She was not released after she was fined 2000 yuan. After Ms. Li was transferred to the Anping County Detention Center, she left with righteous thoughts.

At around 9:30 p.m. on May 23, 2006, policemen from the Jinzhou District and National Security Agents, who were under the guidance of Sun Tong (male) from the local police station, went to Ms. Wang Juan's personal business, a public bath house. She is a practitioner who lives in Dengshahe Town in the Jinzhou District. The officers wore plainclothes and began to arrest Ms. Wang Juan when they made sure of her identity. Ms. Wang Juan was hauled to the police vehicle when she cried out, "Falun Dafa is good!"

After that, policemen began to ransack her house and made records. A notebook computer, some Falun Gong books and some Falun Gong truth clarification materials were taken away. Ms. Wang Juan is being detained in the Dengshahe Town Police Station.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Miao Liqun, who is employed by Leting County Hospital in Tangshan City, 46, was arrested by 610 officials on May 10, 2006.

On the night of May 19, 2006, practitioner Mr. Xie Zaining, a resident of Yiyang City, was arrested by the Meitanba Police Station of Ningxiang County when he was delivering truth clarifying materials. He is still on a hunger strike to protest.

Mr. Xie began to practice Falun Gong in 1996. He was tortured until he was skin and bones when he was released four months later. Since then he has been harassed many times at his work place. In November 2005, officials from Yiyang City 610 Office, Political and Judiciary Committee, and policemen wanted to send him to the brainwashing center. He had to leave to avoid being arrested at home for the past month.

Reportedly, practitioner Mr. Wei Yingxin will be tried in the Yuexiu District Court at 2:30 p.m. on the afternoon of May 25, 2006.

At 4:00 p.m. on May 16, 2006, about seven or eight policemen from Zhaoyuan City 610 Office went into .practitioner Ms. Fang Cuiyu's house in Xilujia Village, Zhaoyuan City. Ms. Fang Cuiyu was arrested and her house was ransacked. They grabbed some Falun Gong books and exercise tapes.

At around 8 p.m. on May 22, 2006, officials from the Zhaoyuan City 610 Office went into practitioner Ms. Wang Guixin's house in Houcang Village, Dawujia Town, Qishan Town, Zhaoyuan City. Ms. Wang was arrested and her house was ransacked. They grabbed some materials. Now Ms. Wang Guixin is detained in the Zhaoyuan City Brainwashing Center. Her family members were not allowed to visit her.

On April 14, 2006, practitioners Ms. Yu Lianhui and Mr. Jiang Fuming, residents of Yangjia County, Wafangdian City, were arrested. On April 19, 2006, Ms. Xi Yanzi (from the same town) was arrested. Now all of them are detained in the Wafangdian City Detention Center.

Mr. Gu Xianye is a 40-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Xizhaojiatun, Dongzhaojia Village, Songhuajiang Town, Dehui City, Jilin Province. On the afternoon of April 24, 2006, he went to the Songhuajiang Town Police Station to apply for a new ID card, but was arrested there by policeman Zhang Xiangyang. He was detained in the police station for over two hours before he was sent to Dehui City Detention Center. Six days later he was sentenced to one year of forced labor. At present he is being held in the Jiutai Labor Camp.

After his arrest, his two children were left at home and are being taken care of by his relatives. A family is thus broken apart by the Chinese Communist Party's persecution.
