Mr. Zhang Gonghua from Shanghai City Disappeared after Being Detained in Shenyang Second Prison

Mr. Zhang Gonghua was a graduate student in the Masters program of Fudan University in Shanghai. Because he persisted in practicing Falun Gong, he was forced to leave school and later went to Shenyang. According to Minghui/Clearwisdom reports on August 11, 2004, at that time over 70 Falun Gong practitioners were "illegally detained" in the Second Prison of Shenyang City, and Mr. Zhang Gonghua was one of them. On May 13, 2004, the prison held a so-called "discipline adjustment" meeting in order to further the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Many Falun Gong practitioners, including Mr. Zhang, went on a hunger strike to resist this persecution. Since then, nothing has been heard about Zhang Gonghua.

Mr. Wang Zilin from Jilin Province Disappeared in Xuanwu District Detention Center of Beijing

When Wang Zilin disappeared, he was 39 years old and lived in Longtan District, Jilin City, Jilin Province. He was working in the Beishan Forestry Department of Jilin City in 2000. He started to practice Falun Gong in 1997. Before he started to practice Falun Gong he had multiple diseases, but he became very healthy through the practice. On November 19, 2000, Wang Zilin traveled to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was illegally arrested by the police and sent to the Xuanwu District Detention Center of Beijing. He was interrogated in the evening and never came back. Nothing has been heard of him since.

When his family asked for him in the Xuanwu District detention center, Beijing City, the authorities only answered with one sentence: "We don't have this person."

Ms. Lin Xijie from Heilongjiang Province Disappeared after Being Arrested in Shanhaiguan in 2002

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Lin Xijie from the No. 597 Farm of Heilongjiang Province was 37 years old. She started to practice Falun Gong in August 1997. After the evil started to persecute Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Lin Xijie was illegally detained when she traveled to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. In November 1999, Lin Xijie appealed in Beijing again and was illegally detained for 3 months. On July 5, 2002, Lin Xijie was arrested in Shanhaiguan the third time she appealed in Beijing. She has disappeared since then. Her husband took their 14-year-old child and married another woman. Her elderly parents miss their daughter very much.

Mr. Yue Yueming from Heilongjiang Province Has Been Missing for 5 Years, Since Being Arrested from Home in 2001

Mr. Yue Yueming, around 42, was reported by somebody when he was clarifying the truth in Changchun City. In 2001, he was arrested at his home in the Yichun countryside. Since his family was against Falun Gong, nobody worried about him after he was arrested. For five years nothing has been heard about Mr. Yue, and nobody knows where he has been detained.

(1) Ms. Yaowu from Sichuan Province

Ms. Yao Wu, who lived in Fuqin Residential Area of Jinniu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, went missing when she went to Beijing to clarify the truth on September 7 and 8 in 1999.

(2) A practitioner from Sichuan Province Whose Name is Unknown

A practitioner whose name is unknown disappeared in 1999 when he went to Beijing to clarify the truth. He lived in Chengdu City and is a brother-in-law of practitioner Li Xiaoyu, who is now suffering persecution in Chuanxi Prison.

(3) Lai Zuhua from Sichuan Province

Lai Zuhua, 60, lived on the 4^th floor of Unit 2, Building 1 on Jianshen Road of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. In May 2003, he was arrested when he went to the police station to deliver truth-clarification materials. The police sent him to Xinhong Road Police Station and he has been missing ever since.

(4) Li Yeming from Shandong Province

Li Yeming was an employee of Shengli Oil Field in Shandong Province. In order to avoid persecution, he became homeless. In September 2005, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and no one has heard anything about him ever since.

(5) Liu Zhengying from Shandong Province

Ms. Liu Zhengying, in her 40s, was a lab worker at the Jiaozhou Food Company, Shandong Province. After the persecution began in July 1999, she twice went to Beijing to clarify the truth (exact time is not known). No one knows of her whereabouts since the second time she went to Beijing,.

(6) Lu Hong from Liaoning Province

Ms. Lu Hong, 52, was an employee of Fushun Party School, Liaoning Province. We lost contact with her in 2002. We miss her.

(7) Wu Mingzhong from Sichuan Province

Wu Mingzhong is from Xindu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. He disappeared after he was arrested in Chengdu in February 2002. It was said he was tortured to death in prison. We hope people who know the inside news provide information.

(8) Tao Xiuqin from Sichuan Province

Tao Xiuqin was from Jianwei County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province and lived in Chenghua District, Chengdu City. In 2000 or 2001, Tao went back to Jianwei County. One month later, Tao and his nephew, Cui Yimang, returned to Chengdu. According to Cui Yimang, Tao never returned home after he went out one day. At that time, the evil was very rampant and Tao happened to be a well-known practitioner in the local area. It could be that he was arrested while clarifying the truth.

(9) Shi Qun from Shanghai City

Mr. Shi Qun, 42, was a college graduate. He used to an engineer of Pudong Third Steel Company in Shanghai and he lived in Rm. 603, 216 Dezhou Rd in Pudong District. His parents are in their 70s and his 12-year-old son is in school. He and his wife were divorced. In 2004, the local police went to harass him twice. The third day of the Chinese New Year in 2005, he went missing.

(10) Zhou Wei from Jiangsu Province

Mr. Zhou Wei, 30, single, was from Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province. He used to work in Shanghai before the persecution started. He was very firm in cultivating Falun Gong. After the persecution began, he disappeared.

(11) Tan Guangfeng from Heilongjiang Province

Mr. Tan Guangfeng was from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. He is 1.78 meters tall. One day around midnight in November 2004, he went out to pass out truth clarification materials and never returned.

(12) Zhao Yumei from Shaanxi Province

Ms. Zhao Yumei, 54, was from Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. On December 20, 2000, she went out to clarify the truth and never returned.

 The abuse and mistreatment of Falun Gong practitioners in the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp is cruel and has been exposed by many practitioners. I was one of those detained in the camp during 2005 and experienced and witnessed actual abuse, torment, and mistreatment. I have detailed the persecution below.

The 7th Group was a special organization for persecuting practitioners. It has three teams: No. 1, 2 and No. 3. In the 3rd Team are four or five rooms with the curtains closed all the time. Two to three criminal inmates are on duty in each room. If a practitioner was out to the bathroom, other rooms would be closed tightly so that none knew how many practitioners were locked in each room. There was one room where four accompanying prisoners monitored one practitioner. They deprived practitioners of sleep for 24 hours any physically abused them, such as making them stand or squat. Showers during the summer were forbidden. Every day the practitioner was forced to watch TV that slandered Falun Gong and to write a report on what she had learned. If she refused to write the report she would not get any sleep.

During the daytime, guards Long Liyun, Tang Luyun, and others from the 2nd Team of the 7th Group, along with collaborators, went to the 3rd Team and tortured the practitioners to force them "reform." Ms. Liu Yongfen, over 50, from Zhuzhou, was punished by having to stand for a long time so that her legs swelled up Ms. Liao Hong from Xiangyin was forced to have her hair cut so that she was half bald. She became dark and thin compared to her formerly bright face and plump body. She looked like a completely different person. I experienced physical torture when I was not allowed to sleep for several day and nights. When I first arrived at the 3rd Team, the head shouted at me, "If you want to shout, those smelly rags and socks are waiting for you!"

The new arrivals were be forced to stand in the janitor's room in the 2nd Team for a whole day, regardless of their ages. They then were ordered to write the Guarantee Statement. If anyone refused, she would have to stand, with limited bathroom breaks or without permission for bathroom time. Ms. Zhou Xiaohong from Chenzhou was beaten by five on-duty criminal inmates Zhou Lanlan, Xiao Fue, Huang Zhicheng, and two others. They prohibited Ms. Zhou from going to the bathroom. As a result, she had to use her lunchbox as a chamber pot, then carry the lunchbox to the bathroom to clean it up before using it to eat a meal again. Ms. He Yingqing, an agricultural university professor, had kidney problems, which required frequent bathroom times. To resists the persecution, she refused to go downstairs for required exercise. As a result, the on-duty criminal inmate Gao Meizhi prevented her from going to the bathroom and mentioned that she was under the direction of leader Ning. Ms. He had to urinate in the room, which led Gao Meizhi curse her with a string of verbal abuse.

During the 2006 New Year, a practitioner wrote a solemn declaration (voiding any renouncements of their faith in Falun Gong that they had given their captors under coercion). This had a great influence. The guards had an accompanying prisoner lock this practitioner into the janitor's room. However, the accompanying prisoner did not bring any harm to the practitioner, despite orders from the guards. The guards were not satisfied with her performance and mentioned that she was too nice to the practitioner. As a result, she did not get rewarded that day. Criminal Zhou Lanlan, on the other hand, who made a great effort to beat practitioners Zhou Xiaohong and Yang Junying from Ningxiang, earned praise from the guards. The guards also promised Zhou's family that she would be released soon even without having to pay the fee for a drug control program.

Practitioner Ms. Yang Junying had her sentence extended by 25 days because she sang a song. Ms. Yang refused to sign the extension letter; therefore, police guard Long Liyun had a criminal on duty sign the letter for her. Ms. Yang was served with a two-month extension in February 2006 and was transferred from the 2nd Teams to the 3rd Team of the 7th Group for continuing persecution. All this was conducted in secret and this information was not leaked to the outside.

 There have been many cases reported of Falun Gong practitioners persecuted to mental disorder in Chinese Labor Camps and prisons. I would hereby like to share several cases that I witnessed with my own eyes, as well as heard reports about, which took place between 2001 and 2002 in the Tianjin City Labor Camp

1. Ms. Guo Baohua, 60 years old, was persecuted to mental disorder at the Tianjin City Women's Labor Camp. I heard from the labor camp staff who supervised me that Guo was tortured by a gang of criminals under the instigation of the police. The criminals used needles to prick her body until there were no untouched spots at all. It was later reported that Guo was bailed out for medical treatment, but passed away a short time after.

2. Ms. Li Jinling, 40 years old, was unwillingly "transformed" while in an unconscious state after being brutally beaten by drug addicts and criminals under the instigation of police in a brainwashing class. However, she was in mental disorder thereafter. I shared a prison cell with her. The cell leader, Feng Yi, who is a drug addict, made Li gather beans day and night without rest in order to torture her.

3. Ms. Liu, 60 years old, was persecuted to mental disorder.

4. Ms. Nie Dan, 19 years old, was a university student. Nie was forced into a drug addiction class. In a month's time, she became mentally unstable. She would often sit motionless staring into empty space either crying or laughing in a silly manner. Many people in the labor camp felt pity for her.

The above are what I came to know while under 24 hour tight surveillance. I have no idea how many other cases there are.

Ms. Kang Shurong, approximately 50 years old, is an illiterate village woman. She had very high blood pressure of approximately 250, yet the drug addict Feng Yi still made her stand for prolonged periods of time without rest. Feng also forced Kang to crawl under the bed to find things for her.

Ms. Zhang, approximately 50 years old, was persecuted to death around July of 2001. In order to force her to "transform", Zhang was not allowed to sleep for many days. Under such torture, for several days, Zhang's heart disease recurred and she passed away from a relapse. After Zhang's death, the labor camp fabricated lies that Zhang had refused to take medicine when her heart disease recurred. The criminal who was in charge of supervising Zhang said that Zhang had not been allowed to sleep for many days and one morning, Zhang fell onto the floor and passed away.

In order to fabricate lies to instigate people's hatred towards Falun Gong, the labor camp has forced all prisoners to write essays fabricating lies to defame Falun Gong, and also declare their "stance" on the Falun Gong issue. Under threats of lengthened sentences, many prisoners wrote lies against their hearts.

These few instances are simply what I myself am aware of happening between 2001 and 2002 at the Tianjin Women's Labor Camp (former Tianjin City Banqiao Women's Labor Camp). How many unknown stories of Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted have there been since the persecution began in 1999?

 On January 18, 2002, I was posting truth-clarifying materials when I was illegally arrested by the police. That same night, I was sent to the Ji County Detention Center and interrogated by staff from the local police station and the Ji County Police Station. When I did not tell them anything, they cruelly beat me and detained me.

Immediately after I entered the detention center, I found out that a practitioner who was on a hunger strike had been tied to an iron chair for 24 hours. We were allowed only one meal per day, consisting of two pieces of hard corn bread, often made from moldy corn powder. Many practitioners were detained in the detention center. Each day we read Falun Gong scripts together and clarified the truth to the people around us. After more than one month in the detention center, I was illegally sentenced to two and a half years in prison and was transferred to the Banqiao Forced Labor Camp in Tianjin.

When I entered the forced labor camp, it was as though I was entering an evil den full of monsters. For Falun Gong practitioners, there is a rule that new prisoners must suffer pain from the very beginning. The camp employed collaborators to talk to me. They came one after another. They also tried to force me to write the "Four-No" letter (no learning, no exercising, no speaking and no spreading of Falun Gong) and to recite the "Four-Rules" (posted on the wall) used to restrain prisoners. If you did not comply with their demands, they would deprive you of sleep, force you to stand for long periods of time, or force you to perform hard labor, sometimes until 1 or 2 a.m.

One month after my arrival I was sent to the Fifth Corps section of the labor camp. There, the environment was very simple, but life was hard. At that time, I still had not written the "Four-No" letter. As a result, they forced me to stand day and night, and even told me when I could and could not use the bathroom. They also tried to "transform" me by having collaborators talk to me.

One day, when I went to the dining hall to get my food, I tore down a propaganda picture defaming Falun Gong. As a result, I was forced to stand for a long period of time. At night, a guard and a drug inmate turned off the lights and beat me, causing my chest to hurt for many days. They also did not allow me to sleep that night. Instead, I was forced to stand in a dark corner of the room wearing only underwear, even though it was winter time. I was forced to stand for more than five hours at a time, and was not allowed to go back into the building until after daybreak. In total, I was forced to stand for five or six days this way.

Once when I went on a hunger strike I was force-fed salt water. The prison guards grabbed my hair and shoved my head against the wall. I have been coughing severely since then.

One afternoon in the spring of 2004, the camp captain called me into his office. He told me to express regret for what I had done so that I could return home as soon as possible. I did not do as he said, and as a result, I was sent to a brainwashing center.

At the brainwashing center, three collaborators and a drug addict defamed Falun Gong, but I did not listen to them. As a result, they forced me onto a bed, with my head at my knees and both of my arms spread out. Then the drug addict beat me and threatened me. However, he stopped after realizing that I was not going to give in. Then a collaborator began to hit me on the head with a slipper. When the slipper broke, he used a different shoe that was thicker and had a bigger heel to continue to hit my head. The personnel on duty at the brainwashing center also came to kick and beat me. Although I was beaten until I saw stars, I only had one thought in my mind: "Firmly hold onto Falun Gong and never betray Falun Gong." Soon, my head swelled up from the beating. That night, I could not see anything and vomited all the watery food that I had eaten. This scared the prison guards, and they forced me to go to a hospital, where I received a transfusion overnight. Before dawn, I was sent back to the labor camp and told to go to the captain's washing room to recuperate. It took more than 10 days before the swelling went down. However, as soon as all my wounds recovered, I was forced to stand all day long, and beaten again by the same person from the brainwashing center. This time he used his fists to hit me. He also spat on my face and told the captain not to give me any food. As a result, I was given only half a piece of steamed bread for each meal.

Three weeks or so later I was returned to the labor camp. The prison guards surrounded and attacked me. They also tried to force me to write a repentance statement, which I firmly rejected.

The camp illegally extended my term for another six months because I refused to give up my belief in Falun Gong. When it was near the end of my extended sentence, two senior captains took turns persuading me to give up Falun Gong by using my attachment to sentimentality to my family. After almost three years I had missed many of Teacher's teachings. With a shallow understanding about the principle of Falun Gong, I was confused and did not know what to do when faced with this test. Regrettably, my determination in Falun Gong was shaken and my righteous belief weakened. Thus, I surrendered to them.

I returned home after three years, with all the wounds from the tortures I suffered, and with a sense of guilt toward Falun Gong. Here I solemnly declare, "What I had said and did under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa are now null and void. I will firmly practice Falun Gong and explain the truth to the people."

1. [Changzhi City, Shanxi Province] Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Li Jianwu and Others Are on a Hunger Strike Against the Persecution

Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Li Jianwu, Mr. Zhang Yanbin, and six others from Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, were abducted and taken to the Changzhi City Detention Center in early March 2006. They've been on a hunger strike to resist the persecution and are in critical condition.

2. [Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Wanli Is Fasting in Protest at Panjin Prison

Practitioner Mr. Liu Wanli from Suizhong County, Huludao City, Liaoning Province, is being held in the 4^th Group at Panjin Prison and is currently on a hunger strike against the persecution.

3. [Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province] Practitioners Ms. Tang Baozhi and Her Daughter Are Facing Illegal Sentencing

Police officers Li Huamin, Zhou Ruyi, Li Wenliang, and Li Ming of Jinhua City illegally arrested several practitionersand sent them to the Shimen Farm for brainwashing and persecution in October 2005. Practitioners Ms. Tang Baozhi and Ms. Chen Yao (Tang's daughter) were arrested more than once.

On March 19, 2006, the police first picked up Ms. Tang's husband, also a practitioner, and took him to Chengdong Police Station. They searched him and took his house keys. Then several officers led by Li Huamin stormed her home and arrested her before taking her to the brainwashing center at Shimen Farm. Using the same tactics, the police in Shanghai got Ms. Chen Yao's house keys from an older woman who lives in the same apartment with Ms. Chen, stormed into her home, and arrested her, taking her to Jinhua City. At the brainwashing center the police subjected Ms. Tang and her daughter to 48 hours of non-stop interrogation and are now holding them at the Jinhua Detention Center.

4. [Shanghai] Practitioner Mr. Jin Wenfeng Is Being Held Illegally at the Detention Center at the Baojiang Police Station

Shanghai Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jin Wenfeng, 39, a former employee of Baogang Steel Corp., was illegally sentenced to a two-year term at forced labor in 2001. When he was released in 2003, his company refused to reinstate him. (He had worked at the Testing Center of the Manufacturing and Management Department at Baogang Steel.) Instead he was sent to work at Xinshiye Co., one of the company's affiliates.

On the afternoon of March 9, 2006, while Mr. Jin was talking with Yang, the security guard at the company's entrance, the police from the Baojiang Precinct came and picked him up. They also took Yang. Later the police searched Mr. Jin's work place and his home at No. 35, Apt. 403, Village 3 at the Baogang Steel Corp. Many of his personal possessions were taken.

5. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] The Home of Practitioner Ms. Ouyang Junjun Was Illegally Searched

Ms. Ouyang Junjun, 64, is a practitioner from Xiangtan City, Hunan Province. On the morning of February 13, 2006, at about nine o'clock, dozens of plainclothes police officers from the National Security Bureau, the 610 Office, the police department, and the community security office stormed into Ms. Ouyang's home. One male officer produced a search warrant and asked her to sign it. She refused, so they started ransacking the room. At about noon, the cell phone of the Deputy Director of the 610 Office rang. He walked toward the balcony and answered it. When he returned, he said to Ms. Ouyang, "You haven't surrendered something you should." With that, they took her MP3 player.

That day, a woman whose family name is Liu came to visit Ms. Ouyang, and police also searched her home.

6. [Yutian County, Hebei Province] Practitioner Mr. Bian Changxue Is Still Being Watched after His Release

Practitioner Mr. Bian Changxue of Shilituo Village, Sanshuitou Town, Yutian County was taken from his home on January 24, 2006. He was allowed to return home after he went on a hunger strike against the persecution and with the help of fellow practitioners in China and overseas, and also due to the awakening of conscience of some officials. Nonetheless, officials from the police department and the CCP Political and Legal Committee of Yutian County and officers from Sanshui Town Police Station have since kept Mr. Bian under surveillance.

Mr. Bian's wife, a two-year college graduate, is an excellent teacher, but the 610 Office in Yutian County wouldn't allow her to teach and instead told her to stay home and watch her husband 24 hours a day. Seeing that Mr. Bian's health appeared to have recovered, police officers from Yutian County and Sanshuitou Town came to his home several times a day and harassed him with interrogations and asking him to sign papers.

7. [Hebei Province] 32 Falun Gong Practitioners Were Transferred to the Women's Prison in Hebei Province

Word has it that the remaining 32 practitioners at the Taihang Women's Prison in Hebei Province were sent to the Luquan Women's Prison of Hebei Province, where they would suffer more severe persecution. All phones there are tapped and inmates have their meals with police standing by.

When a fellow practitioner asked the prison for the release his/her family member, an officer disclosed that they didn't have the authority to do that, and according to instructions from the provincial 610 Office, practitioners cannot be released even after their terms are up, unless the provincial 610 Office agrees.

8. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Practitioner Ms. Jiang Xiaoying Was Arrested and Sent to a Mental Facility after Three Years of Persecution

Practitioner Ms. Jiang Xiaoying of Jiujiang City, who is in her 50s, was released in late 2005 after serving her three-year term at the Majialong Forced Labor Camp in Jiujiang City. Recently she was arrested and taken to a mental facility. She had become very weak and couldn't take care of herself as a result of the torture at Majialong Forced Labor Camp. No information is as yet available on her present condition.

9. [Chongqing City] Ms. Tang Liqun Is Being Held at the Huaxin Street Detention Center

Practitioner Ms. Tang Liqun was arrested and taken to Yuhuacun Police Station for distributing truth clarification materials on March 8, 2006. She is now being kept at the Huaxin Street Detention Center.

10. [Luohe City, Henan Province] The 610 Office Tried to Interfere with Practitioners' Truth Clarification Efforts

On March 15, 2006, on instructions from the 610 Office of Luohe City, Henan Province, the neighborhood boards asked pensioners to watch and follow Falun Gong practitioners. Also, infrared cameras were reportedly installed in department stores.

11. [Heilongjiang Province] The Persecution at Tailai Prison

Tailai Prison of Heilongjiang Province forced Falun Gong practitioners to write repentance statements and tortured those who refused. They handcuffed their hands behind their backs for long periods of time. Practitioner Li from Team 3 of Ward 8 lost the feeling in his hands. His family asked for a medical parole, but the prison ignored their plea out of fear that their use of torture would be exposed. The persecution continues.

12. [Beijing] Two Practitioners from the Haidian District Were Arrested at Home

On March 14, 2006, the police picked up two practitioners from their homes in the Haidian District of Beijing and also took computers, printers, and truth-clarification materials.

13. [Sichuan Province] Practitioner Ms. Chen Rupeng Was Abducted on a Train in Xuzhou City

Ms. Chen Rupeng, 70, is a retired teacher who used to work for the affiliated school at the Sichuan Plant of Building Machinery. On March 10, 2006, while she was on a train from her hometown of Nanjing City to her home in Sichuan Province, she clarified the truth to passengers and told them what she'd experienced. When the train arrived at Xuzhou City, she was arrested, and no word about her whereabouts has since been available.

14. [Shanghai] Mr. Pan Jijun Was Arrested

The police from the New District of Pudong arrested practitioner Mr. Pan Jijun, an employee of the Oriental Hospital of Shanghai, at midnight on July 11, 2005, for clarifying the truth. The police had schemed to put Mr. Pan on trial, but in vain.

On March 3, 2006 the District Court in Pudong, Shanghai, conducted Mr. Pan's trial in Chamber Number 2. In his self-defense during the trial, Mr. Pan said, "Falun Gong has spread to more than 80 countries and regions in the world, bringing benefits to all nations and societies. The principles of truthfulness, compassion, forbearance bring back moral values, and people have benefited tremendously from observing them." Mr. Pan went on to explain to the court the truth about the Tiananmen Self-immolation, and suggested that judges read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party so that they would know how the Chinese Communist Party has deceived and persecuted the people. Hearing those words, the judge hurried to interrupt Mr. Pan, but Mr. Pan continued, "Let me finish by concluding: I have not done anything that's harmful to the country, I have not done anything that's harmful to the people, and I have not committed any crimes!" The trial did not reach a conclusion due to Mr. Pan's righteous thoughts and actions.

It's been said that the court is planning another hearing. The time is yet to be announced.

15. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Practitioners Ms. Yuan Bixiu and Ms. Tang Xiaomin Detained at Yongxin Detention Center

Ms. Yuan Bixiu and Ms. Tang Xiaomin, practitioners from Group Five, Jinmei Village Nanqiang Town, Middle District, Suining City, went out to clarify the truth on the evening of March 04, 2006. They were reported and now they are illegally detained at Yongxing Detention Center.

16. [Shandong Province] Mr. Tian Zhenghui of Weifang Chemical Fiber Factory Arrested

On or around March 06, 2006, Mr. Tian Zhenghui, a practitioner in the Weifang Chemical Fiber Factory of Shandong Province, was clarifying the truth to Peng Xinke, workshop director of the acid station at the chemical fiber factory. Peng Xinke reported Mr. Tian to the general secretary of the sub-factory, Sun Guangshun, and authorities charged Mr. Tian 100 yuan for "violating discipline." Sun Guangshun then reported Mr. Tian to disciplinary committee secretary Liu Jinzhi, who especially persecuted Falun Gong practitioners through the factory party committee. Colluding with police from the Chengxi Police Station in Hanting District, Weifang City, Liu Jinzhi took Mr. Tian Zhenghui to the 610 brainwashing center in Weifang on March 14, 2006. In the meantime, spinning workshop director Cao Huailing, together with police, did a body search of Mr. Tian and searched his work closet.

17. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Luo Jing Taken to a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Luo Jing, a practitioner from Wuhan City, was taken to brainwashing center on February 20, 2006, and has just returned. Her cellular phone and her phones at home and work are all monitored.

18. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Jianhui Detained at a Detention Center

A morning news host at the Tangshan Radio Station and practitioner Mr. Wang Jianhui was detained at the Tangshan First Detention Center. Lubei District Police Department in Tangshan City was responsible.

Mr. Wang Jianhui was a host of Morning News on the Economy Living channel of Tangshan People's Radio Station. After July 20, 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. The Tangshan Broadcasting Bureau had him arrested and taken to Tangshan First Detention Center, where he was detained for one year. Later his workplace had him sent for one year to Hehuakeng Forced Labor Camp where he was tortured. After he was released he detained at the transmission station for one year. Because he persisted in his belief he was again taken to the brainwashing center at Tangshan Textile University. He was later transferred to the brainwashing center in Hebei Province. Under the long and high-pressured persecution, Mr. Wang wrote the so-called guarantee statement against his will. He was released, and he now works at the office of Economy Living channel at Tangshan People's Radio Station.

19. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Mr. Xu Shaolai and Mr. Liu Jianping Arrested by Police

Mr. Xu Shaolai, a practitioner from Houyangzhuang Village, Chengguan Town, Zunhua City, Hebei Province, and Mr. Liu Jianping, a resident of Chengguan Town, Zunhua City, were abducted by 610 police in Zunhua City when they were destroying the slogans that slandered Falun Gong. They are detained at Xisanli Detention Center.

20. [Jiujiang County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Xiaozhen Sentenced to One Year of Imprisonment

Practitioner Ms. Li Xiaozhen, a farmer from Zhoutou Village, Jiangzhou Town, Jiujiang County, was reported while she was handing out truth-clarification materials on the evening of December 30, 2005. She was arrested and taken to Jiangzhou Police Station. The second day she was transferred to Majialong Forced Labor Camp, and was not allowed to be visited by her family. The police said only, "She was sentenced to one year of imprisonment." Her family knew nothing about related procedures.

21. [Laiwu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qi Dongmei Sentenced to Forced Labor

Ms. Qi Dongmei, a practitioner from Laiwu City, about 44 years old, previously worked at Industry and Business Bank in Laiwu City. In the afternoon on March 03, 2006, when she was distributing truth-clarification materials at the Ximeiji dormitories in Laiwu City, she was reported by the security of Ximeiji. She was taken to Beibu Detention Center. On March 10, she was sentenced to forced labor for two years by the Political Security Division of Laiwu City Police Department. She is now detained at Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City.

22. [Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Chen Likuan Once Again Sent to the Fifth Hospital for Persecution

Mr. Chen Likuan, a practitioner from Jiujiang City, over 40 years old, worked in Lushan. From 2001 to 2005 he could not see his family and later he was detained at the Fifth Mental Hospital in Jiujiang City.

During August or September 2005, Mr. Chen walked out of the hospital to see his daughter. His wife, however, did not allow him to see her because they were divorced. When he was walking alone to Lushan, the police sent him back to the Fifth Hospital. The hospital and police at his workplace have said that he would be detained at the mental hospital for his whole life. His workplace paid Ms. Chen's monthly salary of 1500 yuan to the hospital for his living expenses.

23. [Heilongjiang Province] Team Seven at Wanjia Forced Labor Camp Tortured Practitioners

The wardens at Wanjia Forced Labor Camp only allow detainees to use the restroom five times between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m., and detainees are forbidden to complain or tell their families.

At present there are 60 detainees in the seventh team. Among them are 43 Falun Gong practitioners, the oldest is 70 and the youngest is 20. They are tortured every day. The following who do not cooperate with unreasonable requests were severely tortured: Ms. Chi Qinghua, Ms. Fu Shuxian, Ms. Song Guiqin, and Ms. Sun Yunzhen had their mouths sealed with adhesive tape by wardens Wu Baoyun, Wu Hongxun and Yao Fuchang. They had plastic bags placed over their heads. They were handcuffed from behind and were hung so their feet did not touch the floor. Their feet had shackles, which were tightened downward. Their knees were beaten with a clog so severely that they could not bend even while walking several months later. Ms. Li Xueyuan was forced by Warden Xie Qiuxiang to squat until well past midnight. Wu Jinhua pulled the hair of Ms. Qi Yaru, who was forced to squat with feet and knees pressed together. If she did not do this, she would be kicked. Ms. Chang Liping was handcuffed and hung up by Liu Ying and Xie Qiuxiang. Her mouth was bleeding and she was not allowed to tell others. Ms. Liu Shuzhen was beaten until her feet became disabled. On February 2006, she was forced to sit on an iron chair for a full day because of violation of prison rules.

24. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yin Guizhi Arrested Together with Her Husband, a Non-practitioner

On the morning of March 20, 2006, Mrs. Yin Guizhi, a practitioner of Daye Township, Linghai City, Liaoning Province, was "illegally arrested" by police officers Yu Wei and Hao Tiejun from the National Security Team. They took away her computer and all related materials. Her husband, a non-practitioner, was also taken away with her. The reasons why they were abducted and their current whereabouts are unknown.

25. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gao Huijie Detained at the Dongcheng District Detention Center in Beijing

It's known that Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gao Huijie from Shenyang City is detained in the Dongcheng District Detention Center in Beijing. The Dongcheng District Procuratorate in Beijing brought an accusation against Ms. Gao on February 27, 2006. Dongcheng District Court will hear charges against her in one week. According to court rules, it's allowed to audit the proceedings, however, court staff said they would announce the trial date only three days in advance and they would not call and inform the family.

Dongcheng District Procuratorate in Beijing contends that during June 2005, Ms. Gao distributed more than 170 "Nine Commentaries on Communist Party" VCDs around Central Drama College in the Dongcheng District in Beijing. They confiscated CDs, tapes, electronic books, a computer, and other items with Falun Gong content from her home. They will accuse her with these.

26. [Luancheng County, Hebei Province] Practitioner Ms. Zhang Zhihua Abducted by the Police from Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province

On March 7, 2006, Mrs. Zhang Zhihua, a practitioner from Luancheng County, visited her relatives in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. On approximately March 10, 2006, she attempted to return home by bus. Once on the bus Taiyuan City police arrested her. She has been detained until ever since.

27. [Yangchun County, Guangdong Province] Mr. Lian Riguang Arrested

Sometime around March 15, 2006, Mr. Lian Riguang, a practitioner and a teacher at Chunwan Elementary School, Chunwan Town, Yangchun County, was arrested, his house illegally searched, and his belongings confiscated. At this time, the exact location where he is detained is unknown.

28. [Daxing County, Beijing City] Practitioner Mr. Gao Chongjiu Arrested Together with His Wife, a Non-practitioner

On the evening of March 16, 2006, Mr. Gao Chongjiu, a practitioner from Yuejiawu Village, Daxing County, Beijing City, was arrested. His wife, who doesn't practice Falun Gong, was arrested with him.

29. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Guocun and Mr. Liu Zecun Detained at Shidu Police Station

Between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on March 10, 2006, two practitioners of Xianchang'anzhuang Village, Laishui County, Mr. Zhao Guocun and Mr. Liu Zecun, were detained by Shidu Police Station only because they distributed Falun Gong truth flyers. At this time, their whereabouts are unknown.

30. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] A Practitioner Has Been Persecuted for Several Years

On January 12, 2000, a policeman named Li Jinghe ordered me to go to Cai Qi's home and demanded to know whether I was still practicing Falun Gong or not. I answered, "Yes." As a result, he took me to the police station. When we passed through the front gate, without a word, he beat and kicked me. I was then detained at the police station for two days and nights. Cai Qi required my family to give Li Jinghe and others food and drink. Later, they extorted 400 yuan and then released me.

On the morning of July 20, 2002, while cooking at home, police officers Zhang Dianchi, Huo Honglei, Liu Zengjie, and Zhang Zhen broke into my house without warning, saying that someone reported that I had been at a certain place and had distributed Falun Gong truth materials. After saying this, they illegally searched my house and removed my Falun Gong books and extorted 800 yuan from me.

At 5 p.m. on November 9, 2004, policemen Huo Honglei, Liu Zengjie, Dai Chunjie, and someone with the last name Zhang broke into my house without warning and illegally searched my entire house. They found a banner with the words "Falun Dafa is Good" on it. As a result, they took me to Laishui County Police Station and handcuffed me for the whole night. The following day, Li Huanyu lied by saying that I had distributed the Falun Gong flyers, and then he took my photograph and fingerprinted me. I was sent to Laishui County Detention Center and kept there for two weeks. After that, Dai Chunjie brought me to the 610 Office and interrogated, tortured, and brainwashed me. Wang Fucai severely beat me. After my family gave these policemen food, drink, and cigarettes, they demanded 2000 yuan and then released me.

31. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] On His Way Back to Wuhan from Guangxi, Practitioner Zhang Wei from the Qingshan District Was Detained by the Police of Liuzhou City, Guangxi Province. Current Whereabouts are Unknown.

32. [Shanghai] Information on Practitioner Mr. Zhu Xueshi Detained at the Shanghai No. 3 Labor Camp

Thirty-one-year-old practitioner Mr. Zhu Xueshi comes from Weifang City, Shandong Province. He graduated from Tongji University in Shanghai City. He is honest and kind. In May 2001, he was illegally sent to a labor camp for two years by the 610 Office in Shanghai City. In September 2003, he was sentenced to three years' of forced labor by the same 610 Office. Currently, he is detained in Shanghai's 3rd Labor Camp.

Mr. Zhu Xueshi firmly resists persecution. In order to make him yield, the police force him to stand outdoors or do heavy labor from morning to night. The police incite inmate drug addicts and burglars to beat and curse him.

33. [Langfang, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Yajie Recently Arrested

Practitioner Ms. Liu Yajie lives in District 3 of the Pipeline Bureau, Langfang City. Recently, Ms. Liu was arrested. Since February 19, 2006, police from Langfang City have tightly surrounded Ms. Liu Yajie and Ms. Wan Yaqin's homes. The police monitored their homes around the clock, which prevented their family members from going out and living normal lives. The police also threatened to sever electricity and phone connections to their homes.

34. [Sichuan Province] The 610 Office Sent Mr. Song Chenyi and Other Practitioners to a Brainwashing Center

Recently, the National Security Department, the 610 Office, and the police department of Dazhou City sent practitioners Mr. Song Chenyi, Mr. Luo Chuanming, Mr. Li Xianfu, Mr. Chen Chuanbo, Mr. Gao Dong, and his brother, Mr. Li Lei (who has been released) to a brainwashing center at Longteng Mountain Village, Tongchuan District, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province. The village is located at a secret place and known to outsiders as "Dazhou City's Law and Education Center".

35. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] The Police Department and Procuratorate in Nanchang City Poison Students

A high school student in Nanchang City told his parents that the Police Department and Procuratorate came to his school a few days ago and gave the students a so-called "lecture". They told the students to report to the school any of their family members or relatives who practice Falun Gong. Otherwise, a student would be deprived of his education.

36. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Zhao Qiaomei Arrested by Police

Ms. Zhao Qiaomei lives in an area opposite the Duerping Police Station in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. Around 8 p.m. on March 19, 2006, she went to a residence near policeman Han Zhiliang's home to distribute truth-clarifying materials. She met Han Zhiliang, who was on his way home. Han Zhiliang is the deputy superintendent of the Jiankuang Police Station, Wanbolin Branch of Taiyuan City's Police Department. Han Zhiliang arrested Ms. Zhao, took her to the Duerping Police Station ,and tortured her. At around 9 p.m., Han Zhiliang, along with four or five policemen from the Duerping Police Station, raided Ms. Zhao's home.

37. [Yima City, Henan Province] Ms. Shuanxiang and Four Other Practitioners Arrested

In November 2005, based on his wife's report, a policeman from Yima City illegally searched the home of a practitioner. Five practitioners were arrested in the incident. Among them, Ms. Shuanxiang was sentenced to a year's imprisonment. Currently, she suffers persecution at the Shibalihe Women's Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province.

38. [Shenze County, Hebei Province] Ms. Jiao Jinxue and Cao Gengran Released Unconditionally

On March 2, 2006, practitioners Ms. Jiao Jinxue and Cao Gengran from Hou Village, Shenze County, were arrested by the police from Wuji County, Hebei Province, when they went to Jiangren Village, Wuji County, to distribute truth-clarifying materials. On March 17, 2006, they were released unconditionally.

39. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] An Illegally Arrested Practitioner Released, Maintaining His Innocence

On February 26, 2006, a practitioner from the Babaishang Area of Daqing City was arrested when he or she went to visit Ms. Zhou Guilan's home. On March 14, the practitioner was released, maintaining his innocence. Ms. Zhou Guilan, however, is still in detention.

40. [Guangdong Province] Middle School Textbook Contains Contents Defaming Falun Gong

On page 93 in the textbook Thoughts and Moral Education (volume 2) for seventh grade students, there are contents which defame Falun Gong, deceiving and poisoning young students. This book was edited by the Guangdong Provincial Education and Teaching Material Research Office and the Curriculum and Teaching Material Design Center of the Guangdong Province's Press Group. In 2003, the Appraisal Committee of National Middle School and Elementary School Teaching Material approved of it on its first evaluation and listed it as a standard textbook for compulsory education.

41. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] The 610 Office Planned to Persecute Practitioners in Shandong Province Again

Recently, the 610 Office in Shouguang City gave an order to all administrative and public units that required practitioners to write their so-called thoughts and understandings. Each unit met practitioners one by one and required them to write their understandings. If any practitioner did not write, the assessment was not valid. Then his wages would not be increased nor would he be promoted. Moreover, he would be sent to a "transformation" class.

42. [Tianjin City] The Wuqing District Police Department Sent Practitioners to Labor Camp

On March 15, 2006, practitioners Mr. Yang Yusuo from Huanghuadian Town and Ms. Zhao Guojun from Yangcun Village were sent to the Qingbowa Labor Camp and the Banqiao Women's Labor Camp in Tianjin City respectively.

On March 10, 2005, the police from the Police Station of Huanghuadian Town deceived Mr. Yang Yusuo ino getting into the police vehicle. They convinced him that they were taking him to the county hospital for a physical exam, but instead they sent him to the National Security Team of the Wuqing District and then transferred him to the Wuqing District Detention Center. The next day, he was sent to the Police Hospital of Tianjin City for a physical exam and was diagnosed with high blood pressure and heart disease. However, he was still sent to the Qingbowa Labor Camp. In order to resist the illegal detention, Ms. Zhao Guojun went on a hunger strike for many days. The Banqiao Labor Camp still kept Ms. Zhao, even though she became very weak physically.

43. [Tianjin City] Practitioner Ms. Li Shuxian from Bozhang Village, Dakoutun, Baodi District, Sentenced to Four Year's Imprisonment on March 2, 2006.

44. [Shijiazhang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ning Yongqian Arrested

Ms. Ning Yongqian is a practitioner in Nanwei Village, Yuhua District, Shijiazhuang City. About 4 a.m. on March 8, 2006, about six policemen drove two police vehicles to Ms. Ning's home, climbed over the wall surrounding her house, and arrested her. It was the third time that Ms. Ning has been arrested. When she was arrested the second time, she went on a hunger strike to appeal. The police were afraid of being held responsible and sent her home before the Chinese New Year.

45. [Shen County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Junfu Arrested

Mr. Zhao Junfu, about 40 years old, lives in Zhaozhuang Village, Chaocheng Town, Shen County, Shandong Province. He was reported to the police when he clarified the truth to people. On the night of March 15, 2006, four policemen from Shen County's Police Department (one of them was Zhang Hua, deputy head of the National Security Team of Shen County's Police Department) went to Zhaozhuang Village. They first went to Mr. Zhao's brother's home. Because no one was at home, they went to Mr. Zhao's home. After they saw Mr. Zhao, they asked him if he still practiced Falun Gong. When Mr. Zhao said, "Yes," they searched his home immediately and found Falun Gong books and some truth-clarifying materials. When they tried to take Mr. Zhao away, his wife, a non-practitioner, was beaten as she tried to stop the police from taking her husband. The police threaten the surrounding villagers, "If you try to stop us, you will be arrested!"

Mr. Zhao Junfu shouted, "Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance is good! Heaven will eliminate the CCP. Everyone should resign quickly from the CCP!" Mr. Zhao was beaten until his head was bleeding and he was forced into the police vehicle. He was sent to the Police Department of Shen County and interrogated. Currently, he is detained at the Shen County Detention Center. Mr. Zhao is going on a hunger strike to resist the persecution. His wife is detained in the Shen County Jail.

46. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Ms. Liu Shuqin and Ms. Li Suzhen Arrested

About 9 p.m. on March 19, 2006, practitioners were doing the exercises at a practice site in Anqiu City. A dozen policemen from the 610 Office drove three vehicles onto the practice site. They confiscated Teacher's pictures, Falun Gong books, Falun Gong cassettes, videotapes and CDs. Practitioners Ms. Liu Shuqin and Ms. Li Suzhen were forced into the police vehicles. Their current whereabouts are unknown.

1. [Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Cheng Peiming's Family Members Threatened by Daqing City Police Department

After Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cheng Peiming from Daqing City escaped from the police station, Daqing City Police Department, the 610 Office not only issued an arrest warrant to arrest Mr. Cheng Peiming again, but also wanted to persecute his family members. His family members are in a dangerous status.

2. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Xiulan Tortured at Dashan City Detention Center

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Xiulan was arrested at her apartment by police from Zhangjialou Station. She was detained at Dashan Detention Center (in Qingdao City) for eight months and then sent to Ji'nan Province Prison to be tortured.

At the Detention Center, the guards tried to torture the elderly lady to force her to stop practicing Falun Gong. Ms. Sun Xiulan was very weak from an epidemic disease, heart disease and high blood pressure because she had been persecuted for so long. Her family members went to visit her and saw that she looked gaunt and was mentally disoriented. During the period when she was at the detention center, the center tried to send her to Ji'nan Province Prison twice. However, she was rejected because she did not pass the physical test. The Dashan Detention Center Heads try to send Falun Gong practitioners to the prison by offering the prison guards gifts.

3. [Anyang City, Henan Province] 610 Office Recruits 500-600 Security Guards to Join the Persecution

Anyang City 610 Office recruited 500-600 security guards last year. They were equipped with bicycles and police batons. Every day, they patrol the streets.

Around the Chinese New Year in 2006 (January 29, 2006), there were many plainclothes police officers watching and monitoring the computer market in order to track Falun Gong practitioners and eliminate truth-clarifying materials centers.

In early March 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Daike (around 60 years old) was arrested on the street.

5. [Beijing City] Ms. Luo Yuqing from Miyun County Arrested

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Luo Yuqing, from Miyun County, Beijing City, clarified the truth to Wang Chongwei's wife. Wang extorted 200 yuan from her and reported her to the Xiluezhuang Police Station. That same afternoon, Ms. Luo was arrested and sent to the Police Station. She was ordered to write a guarantee statement or be sent to the Miyun County Police Department. Ms. Luo Yuqing did not write the statement and was sent to the Miyun County Detention Center.

6. [Huaiyang County, Henan Province] Two hundred Practitioners Arrested

On the evening of March 23, 2006, police from the Huaiyang County Department of Henan Province and the 610 Office, together with the Henan Province Police Department and the National Security Group, arrested many Falun Gong practitioners without following any legal procedures. Two hundred practitioners were reportedly arrested by March 27, 2006. The detention center was full. Falun Gong practitioners were held together with spies. Guards want to acquire information about material centers and contact people by using these spies. The arrests are still continuing.

7. [Chongqing City] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Wu Shuhui Arrested by Policemen with Four Vehicles in the Residential Area of Sichuan Dyeing Factory at around 5:00 p.m. on March 29, 2006

9. [Pulandian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zou Benxu and Mr. Tang Guohua Sentenced

Reportedly, Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Zou Benxu and Mr. Tang Guohua were sentenced by Pulandian City Court. They were sentenced to four years imprisonment and three years of imprisonment respectively. Mr. Zou Benxu's family wants to appeal. Mr. Zou Benxu started a hunger strike to protest.

10. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Xuan Haijin Arrested

Recently, policemen from the Qingyunpu District Department organized activities including police and people of low income patrolling day and night in the communities. They also use loud speakers to encourage residents to report any Falun Gong related activities.

Reportedly, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xuan Haijin was arrested by police from the Qingyunpu District Police Department when he was delivering truth-clarifying materials. Mr. Xuan's apartment was ransacked and a materials production center was destroyed. Some fellow practitioners were also arrested.

11. [An'guo City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Xinli Arrested

At noon on March 16, 2006, police officers from the An'guo City Department broke into Mr. Zhong Cailiang's house. Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Xinli was arrested while she was washing clothes and was sent to the An'guo City Detention Center without any proof or any paperwork. They confiscated a recorder and two Falun Gong books.

13. [Nanbu County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yuan Suzhen Arrested

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yuan Suzhen, 70, from Nanbu County, Sichuan Province was reported when she was delivering Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials on March 15, 2006. She was arrested and sent to Nanbu County Detention Center. Ms. Yuan takes care of her daughter with mental disorders because her daughter cannot take care of herself.

14. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhang Dongmei Arrested

On March 18, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Dongmei (retired from Railroad Company) from Chenzhou City and Ms. Liu Xueping (staff at the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China) were clarifying the truth about quitting the CCP in the district around the Nanta Police Station in Chenzhou City. They were arrested by police officers from the Nanta Police Station.

On March 20, Ms. Xu Chensheng was reported for posting stickers about quitting the CCP and was arrested. Her mother began to suspect that she had been arrested after she was missing for four or five days. Her mother went into her apartment and found that the apartment had been ransacked. Her mother, 70, inquired about Ms. Xu Chensheng everywhere. Finally she found her daughter detained in the Chenzhou City Detention Center and saw Xu Chensheng in rags with her face swollen.

It was reported that Ms. Zhang Dongmei and Ms. Liu Xueping are also detained in the Detention Center.

15. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Wanzhen and Her Husband Xu Jieran Monitored and Under House-Arrest

Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Chen Wanzhen and her husband Xu Jieran were chief volunteer assistants of the Guangzhou City Falun Gong Assistance Center. They have been monitored for the past three years. Their son connects the home telephone with the cell phone and blocks all calls to his parents. Even when calls reach them, their son does not let them pick up the phone.

16. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Jiaju From Yongxing County Sent to Baimalong Forced Labor Camp

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Jiaju from Yongxing County, Chenzhou County was arrested by local policemen when she was clarifying the truth. She was sent to Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City. Ms. Li Jiaju went on a hunger strike for several months to protest the persecution at the labor camp. She is currently very weak.

17. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Xu Chunsheng Arrested, Her Home Ransacked

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xu Chunsheng from Chenzhou City Tobacco Factory has been persecuted for the past few years with a salary of only 100 yuan per month. There has been no information about her since March 20, 2006. Her child has not seen her since that day and found her apartment ransacked. Police reportedly went to her apartment but there has been no further information.
