Falun Gong practitioner Mrs. Wang Jifeng from Chongqing City passed away on August 13, 2003 as a result of cruel persecution by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials. She was 26 years old. Her husband Gu Shengxue was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor and was actually held in a labor camp for five years. Her sister Wang Jiqin died in September 2002 after being savagely tortured at the Maojiashan Women's Labor Camp in Chongqing City. She was 29 years old.

Wang Jifeng, Wang Jiqin and their families lived at the Songzao Coal Mine in Qijiang, Chongqing City. They benefited tremendously from practicing Falun Gong. Wang Jiqin, who was seriously ill, completely recovered. Her mother's temperament changed greatly. She became kind, tolerant and considerate and stopped fighting with others for personal interest. She used to grow angry over little things, due to the stress of taking care of the entire family. Fights often broke out in the family. After practicing Falun Gong, however, the family got along great and the atmosphere was harmonious.

After the CCP and Jiang Zemin started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Wang Jifeng, Wang Jiqin and their families were severely persecuted for their practice of Falun Gong. Lawless government officials frequently ransacked the homes of Wang Jifeng, her husband Gu Shengxue, her sister Wang Jiqin and her mother. They were illegally detained at detention centers and given heavy fines. Wang Jifeng's husband Gu Shengxue was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor in 1999. Police officers from the Songzao Coal Mine in Qijiang County arrested her sister Wang Jiquin on June 29, 2000. On July 29, 2000 she was sent to the Maojiashan Women's Forced Labor Camp in Chongqing City to be held for two years. Wang Jifeng went to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and was detained for one month. She was held at the Maojiashan Women's Labor Camp for one year in 2000.

Wang Jifeng's husband Gu Shengxue was tortured at the Xishanping Forced Labor Camp in Chongqing City for two years. The guards and the inmates savagely beat him and tortured him with electric batons and spiked clubs. They further forbade him to sleep or take a shower and forced him to read materials slandering Falun Gong. They detained him in solitary confinement and forced him to do slave labor and extensive drills in an attempt to destroy his belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. Seeing that their methods didn't have an effect on his determination, they extended his term.

Wang Jifeng's sister Wang Jiqin was savagely beaten many times at the Maojiashan Women's Forced Labor Camp under orders from the guards. Guard Yang Ming ordered several inmates to force-feed and inject her with unknown drugs, claiming to "treat her illness," making her immediately lose consciousness. To evade responsibility for their actions they sent Wang Jiqin home, but only when she was on the brink of death. She could not take care of herself due to severe injuries from the brutal abuse at the camp. After several months of suffering, she passed away on September 23, 2002.

Wang Jifeng was released after one year of forced labor, but the local authorities harassed her frequently afterwards. In January 2002, they constantly hounded her after she attended an experience-sharing meeting with other practitioners. Thereafter she left home to avoid arrest. Several months after his release from the labor camp, her husband Gu Shengxue was arrested on October 14 while doing some shopping. The police secretly held him at the Qijiang County Detention Center and sentenced him to three years of forced labor.

After Wang Jiqin died from the persecution, the police ordered about eight people to block the door to her home from the outside, saying, "The Sixteenth Party Congress will be held in a few days, so keep them from making trouble." They locked her parents inside and forbade them from leaving home. The officials also probed for Wang Jifeng's whereabouts, leaving her no choice but to live away from her own home.

Wang Jifeng endured tremendous physical and mental trauma during this terrible persecution. She passed away on August 13, 2003. The CCP and Jiang Zemin's regime are the reason for countless families being torn apart just like this.

Ms. Xu Na is a thirty-eight year old oil painter. She lived at Lianxiang Xiluyuan at Fangshan area in Beijing.

Xu Na started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. After the persecution started, Xu Na, along with other practitioners in Beijing helped many practitioners from other provinces to appeal in Beijing. She arranged their accommodations and organized experience sharing among practitioners. In August 1999, she was illegally detained for fifteen days for attending an experience sharing conference in Fangshan. She went to appeal again in October and was detained for another thirty days as a consequence. On November 19, 2000, she was once again detained for thirty days. In 2001, Li Xiaoli, a practitioner from Siping area in northeast China, (who was later tortured to death), stayed in Xu Na's home. Xiaoli was arrested when she was distributing Falun Gong materials, and police found out the location of Xu Na's rented apartment based on Xiaoli's phone number. On July 3, 2001, Beijing City National Security Office arrested Xu Na in Tongzhou. In November, she was illegally sentenced to five years in prison by Fangshan Middle-level Court.

Xu Na was initially sent to Tuanhe Juvenile Detention Center. Because she firmly refused to denounce Falun Gong, police forced her to do hard labor that was usually only assigned to inmates who had been trained for one year. They forced her to perform the most difficult procedure in making shoes - working on 600 shoe soles per day.

After work, while other inmates were allowed to rest, she was taken to an isolation room and subjected to brainwashing until 1:00 a.m. Former practitioners who had renounced Falun Gong were required to brainwash her. She then was taken back to her cell by inmates who were specifically assigned to monitor and "transform" her. At 6:00 a.m., she had to get up and go back to work. The collaborators took turns brainwashing her and also tried to force her to step on Teacher's photo. Xu Na firmly refused, so she was deprived of sleep and subjected to various means of torture. Although exhausted physically and mentally, Xu Na never yielded and remained steadfast in her belief in Falun Gong.

One time at a line-up, the head of the prison passed by. Xu Na ran out from the line and stopped him to protest all the tortures she had suffered. She demanded that the torture stop, and explained why it was wrong. Her action shocked all people there, as in that horrible environment, Falun Gong practitioners never publicly requested anything. Her righteous action and thoughts suppressed the evil people. Since then her environment improved considerably. She was not "transformed," and she constantly clarified the truth. Her compassion and righteous deeds moved many inmates and police. When Xu was transferred over one year later, inmates sent her off with tears in their eyes.

In November 2002, Xu Na was transferred to Beijing women's prison. There were three so-called "transformation teams" and one finishing team (to detain those transformed and near the end of their terms). Each "transformation team" had seventy or eighty practitioners with a total of over two hundred practitioners detained in the prison. Every week, two or three more practitioners arrived.

Xu Na suffered inhumane tortures. She was repeatedly beaten up. The authorities ordered seven or eight inmates to beat her up, tie her up in cross-legged position, deprive her of sleep, and to fingerprint so-called "exposure and criticism" statements against her will. They left her out on the snow-covered ground, and did not allow her to wash for over a month, etc. But she always kept a righteous mind. She is the only practitioner in the women's prison who has not been "transformed" and has won the respect of both guards and inmates. Xu Na was frequently transferred from one team to another. Every time she left one team, all the inmates would send her off with tears in their eyes.

On March 19, 2003, a murder occurred at Beijing women's prison. Under the incitement of Tian Fengqing, the head of forth prison area, former practitioners who had turned against Falun Gong, including Li Xiaomei, Li Xiaobing, Jin Hongwei, Liu Shuxia and others beat practitioner Dong Cui to death in the rear stockroom of the prison. After the incident someone wrote an anonymous letter to Beijing City Labor Camp Bureau exposing the crime. After investigation, Tian Fengqing was transferred to another prison area. It is said that later the prison offered the family of Dong Cui 30,000 yuan hoping to hide their crime. They suspected that it was Xu Na who wrote the letter, but Xu Na firmly denied it. Since then, her normal visiting rights were cancelled. It has been eighteen months since her family was last allowed to see her.

In March or April of 2005, Xu Na was once again transferred to isolation. Knowing that she would not be "transformed," the guards dared not mention "transformation" and ordered the collaborators not to mention it in front of her either. Otherwise they would be punished. They only asked several inmates to stay with her. She could do whatever she wanted in the cell. When Xu Na wanted to wash and clean, they would drive everyone out from the cleaning room and let her use it alone. If she wanted to use the toilet, they would drive everyone out from the bathroom and let her in. When Xu Na asked to talk with certain criminal, they would arrange it. Their purpose was to move Xu Na. However, three months had passed and Xu Na did not give in. Then three guards took turns attempting to brainwash her. They first forced her to watch video slandering Falun Gong and asked her to take notes while watching, and discuss it afterward. However, this did not work. The guards all said that they had no way to deal with her.

Xu Na has publicly declared that she will appeal to higher authorities against police officer Tian Fengqing, who incited inmates to torture her and other practitioners. She will also expose the murder. Knowing that he/she would be in trouble, Tian Fengqing requested to be removed from active duty. Tian has been transferred to the administration department in the prison and is no longer in charge of inmates.

Xu Na will not be released until July 3 based on her sentence. Here we call on all righteous people in the world to pay attention to Xu Na's case and help to release her.

In late 2001, Falun Gong practitioner Liao Shikai was arrested by police from the Taiping Town Police Station. He was tortured to death the next day.

Mr. Liao Shikai, in his 40s, lived in Taiping Town, Dianjiang County, Chongqing City. By the time he was around 30 years old, he had already been afflicted with many illnesses. Osteophytosis brought him extreme pain. When he started to practice Falun Gong in 1997, all of his illnesses went away. Since then, he deeply believed in Falun Gong without any doubts.

One day at the end of 2001, the police from Taiping Town took Mr. Liao Shikai to the station. By the next day, he had been tortured to death. (Note: Mr. Liao was very healthy when he was taken away.) The police were afraid to bear the responsibility for this crime so they did not allow Mr. Liao's family to see his body or take pictures. They directly cremated Mr. Liao's body.

The local residents protested the injustice inflicted upon Mr. Liao Shikai. Many people went to the Police Station of Taiping Town to ask for justice. The Police Department of Dianjiang County dispatched many police vehicles and policemen to the Police Station of Taiping Town to disperse the protestors in the name of "maintaining public order." The police threatened to arrest anyone who continued protesting. Because all the people knew how evil the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is, they both felt angry and afraid. They had no choice but to go home.

However, shortly after this, the police who persecuted Mr. Liao Shikai received karmic retribution and died.

Practitioner Ms. Li Yanqiu from Jinzhou City has been held and tortured in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Recently she is suffering from a mental disorder due to torture that she has suffered.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Yanqiu, 39, lived in Jinzhou City of Liaoning Province. On October 30, 2005, because a fellow practitioner was being held in the Tashan Detention Center of Jinxi City, Ms. Li went there to inquire on her status. She was then detained for no reason. That night, she was sentenced to fifteen days of detention. Her family members went there many times to visit her, but the guards rejected all requests to see her. On November 11, before the fifteen days of detention were over, Ms. Li was then illegally taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp and sentenced to two years of forced labor.

After Ms. Li arrived at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province, she went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The hunger strike has now lasted more than thirty days. During the past month, her family members have called repeatedly to inquire about her situation, but the forced labor camp guards rejected all visits, claiming risk of bird flu when they only wanted to extort money from the family. They also refused to release any detailed information on the status of Ms. Li and only said that she was on a hunger strike. On November 19, a prison guard team lead with the last name Ren called Ms. Li's family, trying to extort 3000 yuan from them, and he asked the family members to visit the camp. On November 20, when Ms. Li's family members went to the camp to visit her, they discovered that she was already suffering from a mental disorder and could no longer recognize her own family members. In addition, her physical condition was extremely weak. She was unable to stand on her own and could move only with the support of two people, one on each side. Her family members held each other and cried when they saw what had happened to her. It was learned that Ms. Li had not slept for several nights recently and has been monitored around the clock. Even so, the forced labor camp has refused to release Ms. Li and is still trying to extort money from the family.

Ms. Li's parents are quite elderly. Ms. Li's father's hair is completely white, and her mother is sick and bedridden from the aftereffects of a stroke. These two elderly people have been crying for their daughter every day.

There were three other female practitioners arrested at the same time along with Ms. Li Yanqiu. Their status is unknown.

The "Legal System Education and Training Center" in Weifang is a notorious forced brainwashing center administered by the Communist regime's 610 Office. 610 Office agents have arrested and detained Falun Gong practitioners and subjected them to all kinds of mental torment. During the day, they bombard people with lies. During the night they deprive the Falun Gong practitioners of sleep. Brainwashing center head Fu Jinbin frequently subjects women practitioners to severe sexual harassment regardless of their age.

In October 2005, a pretty woman Falun Gong practitioner was arrested and taken to the "Legal System Education and Training Center." Fu Jinbin carried her in his arms and walked to his room. After this Falun Gong practitioner was released, Fu Jinbin still called on her to come see him. Fu Jinbin also harassed another young woman practitioner by repeatedly groping her and using obscene language. Although he encountered her strong resistance, he still persisted. One day, after he repeatedly badgered her, he exposed himself to her. Another Falun Gong practitioner's daughter-in-law came to visit her. Fu locked the gate and did not let her leave. After she resisted his advances and was about to climb the wall, he opened the gate.

Fu Jinbin, 47, came to this 610 Office-sponsored brainwashing center in April 2003. A vicious female brainwashing center staff member named Guo Jing followed Fu Jinbin's directives closely and was extremely cruel to Falun Gong practitioners. They mentally and physically tormented the practitioners, extorted large amounts of money from them, and implicated their family members.

This brainwashing center is located at north end of Xinhua Road in the Kuiwen District in Weifang. Two signs are hung up at this building, one saying "Chinese Communist Party School at the Kuiwen District for Weifang City," and "North Campus of the Weifang City School of Public Health."

Two days before the 2005 Mid-Autumn Festival, Falun Gong practitioner Jiao Huifang in Weifang City was arrested and taken to the so-called "Legal System Education and Training Center." For two months, the lawless people subjected her to all sorts of physical torture and mental torment because she did not give up her belief in Falun Gong. Jiao Huifang resisted their persecution methods with a hunger strike. They injected her with drugs and force-fed her. They handcuffed her day and night, and deprived her of sleep. For a long period of time they force-fed her by intubation and handcuffed her to a sofa from behind. When she was tortured to the brink of death, and her family members were forced to write a guarantee statement.

Many banners are displayed in the center, touting "appreciation" from people. These came from people who were forced into renouncing their beliefs and then forced to pay for these banners to "thank" the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for "transforming" them.

1. Torture caused Dr. Li Hongliang, a doctor at the Petroleum Chemical Company in Huludao, to suffer a mental collapse. He then died after jumping from a tall building.

Mr. Li Hongliang, about thirty years old, was a doctor at the Employee's Hospital in the Huludao Petroleum Chemical Company in Liaoning Province. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, he went to Beijing to clarify the facts many times. Consequently, the 610 Office of Huludao City, the public security agents, people from his workplace and the Xingcheng Mental Hospital repeatedly illegally arrested, detained and persecuted him at a detention center and at the mental hospital. He went on a hunger strike to protest, and refused to submit to the persecutors' demands. He was tortured for not writing the three statements. The authorities released him only after he suffered a mental collapse. His family did not look after him. Due to his mental trauma which resulted from the torture, he jumped off of a tall building and died. The details are still under investigation.

Mr. Feng Changlin, who is in his twenties, lived in Santai County, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. Since childhood, he had many chronic diseases, such as emphysema, and was too weak to work. In 2003, Feng began practicing Falun Gong, and his health improved. From 2003 to 2005, the police from Panzhihua City and Santai County in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province and the police from Tibet detained and harassed Feng many times. In early 2005, the persecution and harassment were so severe that he was forced to stop practicing. Feng's former illnesses then recurred. He passed away in May 2005.

Mr. Yu Junxiu, about forty years old, lived in Zhejiang Province. He was formerly a criminal sentenced to a life term. In 1997, he learned Falun Gong from the prison guards. In 2000, Yu was transferred to Mudanjiang Prison. One day in the winter, Yu wrote, "Falun Dafa is good," on a piece of paper and posted it on the wall in the corridor. He was put into solitary confinement for six months for this. When he was released from the solitary cell, he had symptoms of severe abdominal fluid retention. He passed away despite being treated in the prison clinic.

Ms. Chen Guohua, 57, was a practitioner from Chendu City, Sichuan Province. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. After she began practicing, she recovered from heart disease and high blood pressure. She went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and to clarify the truth, and was detained for a month upon her return. Because she distributed truth-clarifying materials in October 2001, she was illegally sentenced to a year and a half in a forced labor camp, and was detained at a detention center for seven months. She was released to see the doctor outside the detention center in May 2002. When she distributed truth-clarifying materials in 2004, she was arrested and taken back to the detention center for more torture. Two weeks later she managed to get out of the detention center. A few days after her return home, she was once again arrested and taken to the detention center. After continuous torture and long-term persecution, Ms. Chen Guohua died on December 18, 2005.

Ms. Jiang Lifan, 75, previously lived in Gangyao Town, Longtan District, Jilin City, Jilin Province. She started practicing Falun Gong in late 2001. The police often went to her home to harass her. They arrested her two daughters who were practitioners and also their husbands. The police threatened the older woman, and forced her to submit her fingerprints. Recently, her second daughter, Ms. Zhu Yan, was again arrested and sent to a forced labor camp to be persecuted. Ms. Jiang's health grew worse and worse and she died on December 26, 2005.

Mr. Xu Yuyin from Liaoning Province started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. His wife was sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp to be persecuted. Upon her return, the residency committee harassed her many times. After continuous threats and harassment, Mr. Xu Yuyin died in February 2004.

Ms. Lin Huaiying, 64, previously lived in Liaohua No. 17 District, Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province. She was arrested on June 10, 2004. After a physical exam, she was diagnosed with high blood pressure and sent home. However, the authorities did not leave her alone and often bothered her. She was arrested again in July and was forced to write a guarantee statement. After she came back, she knew that what she had done was against her conscience, and she wrote a statement indicating that what she wrote was invalid. She died on May 17, 2005.

Ms. Xu Youzhen was from Longxumen Town, Kuangcheng County, Chende City, Hebei Province. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. In May 2000, she was persecuted in Kuancheng County by the Kuancheng County Police Department. She was forcibly detained at a brainwashing center and the police extorted a fine of 680 yuan from her. In June, she was detained for two weeks and fined 1,700 yuan. After this the police department often went to her home to disturb and harass her. She was greatly injured both physically and spiritually. After that, she was afraid to do any of the Falun Gong exercises. Her old disease returned. Her kidney weakened and she often needed hospitalization. She died on October 31, 2005.

1. [Jiangxi Province] Practitioner Ms. Zhang Yuzhen Persecuted by the Jiangxi Women's Jail to the Point of Becoming Disabled

Ms. Zhang Yuzhen, 38, went to Beijing Tiananmen Square to appeal for Falun Gong in 2000. She was arrested by the police and later sentenced to six years imprisonment. She has been held at the Jiangxi Women's Jail and has been brutally tortured by the guards with different methods such as being placed in solitary confinement, being locked up in a small cell, being handcuffed with her feet shackled, and being beaten while hung up in handcuffs. Now she is disabled due to the long-term tortures and can't take care of herself. The jail still doesn't allow her family members to visit her. However, the guards have continued torturing her.

2. [Neimenggu Province] Police Officer Threatens to Put Unmarried Practitioner Ms. Lu Ling into an All-male Inmate Ward

Liu Tao, police officer from the Hailaer Railway Police Department, is in his 30s. Recently when he persecuted six practitioners from Hulunbeier, Neimenggu Province, he even threatened to put Ms. Lu Ling, who was only 24 years-old and unmarried, into an all-male inmate ward.

On the evening of January 6, 2006, State Security Agents intruded into Ms. Liu Hong's home located at Weiyuan, Qingta Community, Fengtai District, and took her belongings. They found some Falun Gong truth-clarification flyers. At the same time, Ms. Liu came home from her company, so the agents who also took Ms. Liu's brother and her father with them, arrested her as well. The next day, the agents released her brother and her father. However Ms. Liu is still being held at the Fengtai Police Department.

Practitioner Mr. Lin Shusen has been on a hunger strike protesting the persecution for many days. The police have taken him to a hospital due to his poor health. The authorities will pass sentence on him on January 11, 2006, at the Beijing Xicheng District Court.

What the authorities call the "Law and Education Center" to the public is in fact, the Linyi City Brainwashing Center. From late 2001 to present, the brainwashing center has held 300 practitioners who have been persecuted both mentally and physically.

The police arrested nineteen practitioners from Chunan County while they were holding a Falun Gong experience sharing conference on November 26, 2005. Amongst the 19 practitioners, Ms. Sun Maoqin, Mr. Zhao Xiaowei and four other practitioners were held at the Linyi City Brainwashing Center. Later, another seven practitioners from Chunan County were also taken to the brainwashing center.

Mr. Zhao Xiaowei and Ms. Sun Maoqin went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and were force-fed. Mr. Zhao fainted from the force-feeding and his life was in danger.

According to the latest information, Ms. Sun Maoqin has been taken to the Zibo Wangcun Forced Labor Camp for further persecution.

On September 29 2005, officers from the Mudanjiang Jingfu Police department arrested practitioners Ms. Liu Chenhong and Ms. Zhang Haiyan, both from Mudanjiang City, while they were clarifying the truth in Dafuyuan. Now they are being held at the Xinglong Detention Center.

The police from Dabao Local Police Station arrested practitioners Ms. Ma Yuxin and Ms. Tong Shufang, both from Fengcheng City, while they were clarifying the truth in Dabao. At present, Ms. Ma Yuxin is imprisoned in the Kuandian County Detention Center and Ms. Tong Shufang is imprisoned at the Fengcheng Detention Center.

On the morning of January 3, 2006, while practitioner Mr. Liang Runcheng was clarifying the truth in Kuandian County, four officers from the Kuandian County Police Station beat him with electric batons and then took him to the Kuandian Police Station where police again beat him with electric-batons, cuffed his hands, shackled his feet and forced him to sit on the ground.

Two months ago when practitioner Mr. Ge Xiaonan from Fengcheng Baoshan County was clarifying the truth during his dinner at the Kuandian Restaurant, he was reported to the authorities by the restaurant owner. Officers from the Kuandian County Police Station arrested him. He has been sentenced to two years of "reeducation through forced labor" in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

Practitioner Mr. Lin Xiaoquan from Qingshicunliuzu, Xinnong County, Xindu District was arrested in July 2005 and released in late July. He was arrested again in August and is still being held at the Xindu District Detention Center.

An official from Fushun City Police Station said that the first department from Fushun City Police Station had totally finished processing over fifty Falun Gong cases in 2005. Over 360 practitioners had been sentenced to forced labor and 108 practitioners were detained.

On December 16, 2005, when Practitioners Ms. Qu Zhaoli and Ms. Sun Xiuli, both from Mouping District, Yantai City, handed out truth materials during a big fair, they were arrested by the police and later sentenced to eighteen months of forced labor. They are now imprisoned in the Mouping Detention Center.

Ms. Huang Xiufeng, a practitioner in her 50s, is a retired worker from the Nanyang City Printing Factory. On December 24, 2005, the police went to her home, arrested her and searched the home.

13. [Luzhou City, Sichuan province] Practitioner Mr. Wang Xiaoping is Tortured at a Mental Hospital

Zhong Shaoyan, the Shuikou Town Secretary in Gulin County, Luzhou City, is a member of the Gulin County 610 Office. In late August 2005, he incited Wang Youyuan, who worked for the Shuikou Town Government and was also an older brother of Mr. Wang Xiaoping, to take him to the Luzhou City Mental Hospital. Although he repeatedly told the hospital's doctors that he didn't have any mental problems, the hospital's doctors still tied him up and injected various drugs into him.

Practitioner Mr. Wang Wei from Baotou City began practicing Falun Gong in 2003. On August 9, 2005, authorities ruined a local Falun Gong materials site. Mr. Wang's wife, practitioner Mrs. Guo Meijie, was arrested. The police also looked for him, so he had to leave his home to avoid being persecuted. On November 15, 2005, when Mr. Wang went to Diaqi District Government in Erduosi City to ask his about his wife, he was arrested. After holding him for over a month in the Daqi Detention Center, the Daqi Police took him to the Wuyuan Forced Labor Camp where he was sentenced to two years of forced labor.

Practitioner Ms. Hu Keling was a teacher at Liaxi City Middle School. On the morning of December 30, 2005, officers from Chengguan Police Station arrested her while she was teaching a class, for clarifying the truth to her students. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

On January 4, 2006, Chen Yamin, the head of the state security department from Daan City Police Station, led five policemen and burst into practitioner Ms. Geng Jifeng's home where she was arrested without cause. At present, she is being held at the Daan Detention Center.

Gansu Province has put all the state's practitioners that were arrested early in the persecution together in a new prison the state built specially for Falun Gong practitioners who firmly believe in Falun Gong. The jail looks like a factory. Four practitioners share one room. The officials from the jail don't physically torture the practitioners, neither do they curse them, however, they don't allow practitioners to sleep. They take turns using a method called "having a conversation or debate" to persecute the practitioners, which makes them suffer greatly.

Practitioner Ms. Zhang Yazhen, who is in her fifties, lived at the staff dormitory of the New China Sugar Manufactory in Jilin City Economic Development District. In May 2005, the police from the Jiuzhan Police Department in Jilin City Economic Development District arrested Ms. Zhang. The police searched her home and found some Falun Gong truth materials. In November 2005, the Changyi District Court in Jilin City sentenced her to eight years in prison. Later, the Jilin City Middle People's Court passed another sentence of eleven years imprisonment on her. Ms. Zhang has already appealed her case to higher authorities.

In late November 2005, the police searched Ms. Wang's home and she was forcibly brought to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City, which is about 15 kilometers away.

The officials from the brainwashing center constantly curse Falun Gong and practitioners, don't allow them to take breaks, and also mentally torture them. Police officer Wu Wei took liberties with female practitioners, and every day policeman Liu Qing persecuted practitioners by using methods such as force-feedings and beatings. He also threatened practitioners so they would not tell the public what happened in the brainwashing center.

Ms. Wang went on a hunger strike. On the evening of the fifth day, she became unconscious and her blood pressure could not even be measured. The police took her to the Fushun City No. 3 Hospital where the doctors tried to save her life for two days. After she woke up, officer Wu Wei still persecuted her by asking the doctors to force feed her. Ms. Wang's physical condition rapidly declined. When she was very weak, the police forced her to sign her name on a guarantee statement. Sometime later, she was released.

On November 7, 2005, with active cooperation from the leaders of the Watercourse administrative office from Siping City Water Conservancy Bureau, the Tiexi District 610 Office forcibly took practitioner Ms. Bao to the Changchun City Brainwashing Center.
