Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Ruiying, 54, lived in Dingxing County, Hebei Province. Because she steadfastly practiced Falun Gong, Ms. Li was tortured, brutally beaten, and shocked many times with electric batons. She was tied up for four whole days inside the Baoding City Forced Labor Camp, and later cuffed onto a bed for four days. In September 2004, she was bailed out on medical parole because she was dying, and she passed away on December 19, 2005.
Ms. Li Ruiying lived in Nanxiaozhuang Village, Dingxing County, Hebei Province. Before January 1997, when she started practicing in Falun Gong, she had late stage uterus cancer. Her illnesses went away as a result of studying the principles of Falun Gong and doing the exercises. Falun Gong gave her a second life. Ms. Li Ruiying firmly believed Falun Gong, so she went to Beijing to clarify the truth on April 25, 1999, and went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong again on July 20, 1999, and October 1, 1999.
In 2000, Ms. Li Ruiying broke away from her family's confinement of her, and went to Beijing three times to clarify the truth. Among these three times, one time she went by walking along the railroad tracks. She was arrested and taken back to her hometown every time, and detained twice. She was extorted of more than twenty thousand yuan.
When she was locked in a brainwashing class, she was taken to the police station twice, and not allowed to eat. Policemen slapped her face on the first day, and cuffed her onto a chair for an entire day. The second day, they cuffed her onto two windows, which forced her arms straight apart, and put her under the baking sun for 7-8 hours. Only after she passed out due to extreme pain did the policemen let her down.
One time Ms. Li Ruiying did the Falun Gong exercises, so the guards cuffed her onto two big trees, and then beat her lower body with a club. In 2001, her husband brurally beat her because she kept her faith, and sent her to Baoding City Mental Hospital.
In 2003, Ms. Li Ruiying was arrested by local police because she was posting Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. She was brutally beaten and shocked with electric batons in the local police station. She shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" Policemen then stuffed dirty socks into her mouth, and knocked out more than ten of her teeth. She was later sentenced to two years of forced labor in the Baoding City Forced Labor Camp.
In 2004, while she was in the Baoding City Forced Labor Camp, guards tied her four limbs to a chair for four entire days, but she still refused to give up her faith. She was then tortured with "leaning against a big board" (1) for four days. She was forcibly injected with drugs, force-fed, and given intravenous injections. While being forced to suffer an intravenous injection, Ward Liu Ziwei beat and shocked her.
Ms. Li Ruiying was tortured until she was near death in the labor camp, and she was bailed out on medical parole in September 2004. Because she was severely injured both mentally and physically, she had a stroke, and died on December 19, 2005.
Another Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Zhou Cuihua, 60, also lived in Nanxiaozhuang Village, Dingxing County. She went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Gong in 2000, and was arrested and taken back, detained in Township Government Office, beaten, and extorted of five thousand yuan. She died on January 8, 2004.
The Liyuzhuang Brainwashing Center is located in Dingxing County, and it is an evil den to torture Falun Gong practitioners. There is a room on the west side equipped with electric batons, rubber batons, handcuffs, and thick metal chains hanging down from the beams. Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xiong Fengxia from Guchengsan Street, Dingxing County was beaten to death in mid October 2002, while hung up by the steel chain in that room.
Note:
(1) Leaning against a Big Board - Practitioners are tied spread-eagled to a bed and also in other fixed positions for long periods of time. The lack of circulation sometimes causes the practitioners to become disabled.
On December 12, 2005 Xin Minduo and his wife Bao Juncen were put on trial before the court for the second time. But after the hearing, the court adjourned with no verdict announced. In fact, twenty days before the court session, the sentence had already been passed secretly. The couple was to be given thirteen years of imprisonment.
It all started on August 3, 2005 when Falun Gong practitioner Xin Minduo was arrested while walking along a street, and at the same time his wife Bao Juncen was also arrested while visiting a neighbor. In fact, they were illegally arrested by personnel from the District National Security Office.
During an initial trial, due to the lack of evidence submitted by the District Examination Court, the Intermediate Court dismissed the case, and sent the couple back to the District National Security Office.
Dissatisfied with the result, on November 25, 2005, the District National Security Office re-filed the case against Xin Minduo to the District Examination Court, with some Falun Gong materials as evidence. It was not until December 26 that the Office managed to find sufficient "evidence" to prosecute Xin's wife, Bao Juncen, as well.
During the hearing on December 12, 2005 almost every law firm in Panjin City sent in a representative. Apart from the defendant's lawyer, there were nine other lawyers present as observers. The case was all in favor of the accused, and the defendant's lawyer put forward the arguments so beautifully that everyone applauded. At the entrance, one police officer was overheard whispering to another, "It's no use trying to defend the accused. The sentence was passed secretly twenty days ago."
In the end, the court adjourned the session hastily, and the verdict of the case was not announced.
During the court session, the prosecutor asked to present six witnesses. Except for Ms. Yuan Huaying who had some connections with the case, the other five had nothing to do with the case. However, none of the witnesses showed up that day. Similar to the first court session conducted on September 12, 2005, this session also ended in disaster. The court rejected the prosecutor's request for a re-appearance of the witnesses.
While preparing for this court case, the defendants' lawyers and their immediate family members continually received harassment and threats. On November 27, 2005, after demanding the release of Xin and Bao, the family members received threats. Xu Hao the National Security Officer said, "Sooner or later, I will get all of you locked up."
After the court hearing, the Panjin City National Security Office personnel said that they would "take care" of the two lawyers for defending the Falun Gong practitioners as a revenge for making them lose face in the court.
A Falun Gong practitioner from Suizhong County Liaoning Province was illegally arrested by Suizhong County police on November 17, 2005 and his home was ransacked. He is still detained at Suizhong Detention Center, and police have threatened to have him sentenced to prison.
Mr. Liu Wanli, 41, lives at Xishan village Qiuzigou Township Suizhong County. He went to Beijing to peacefully appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong on May 1, 2002. He was arrested by Tiananmen Police Station police and later sent to "Hulu Island Police Department Beijing Office." He was brutally beaten and then sent to Suizhong County Police Department Party Security Section. There, he was sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp and suffered the full term at Hulu Island Forced Labor Camp.
During the time he was at Hulu Island Forced Labor Camp, Liu Wanli suffered tremendous amounts of torture. In November 2002, Hulu Island Forced Labor Camp started using violence in attempt to forcibly "transform" practitioners who refused to write the so-called three statements. Policemen Ding Wen and several others used multiple electric batons to shock Liu Wanli's private area. In addition, they also beat him with "wolf's fang" sticks. Liu Wanli shouted "Falun Dafa is good!" Policemen forced the electric baton into Liu Wanli's mouth and shocked his mouth, head and various places on his face. As they were shocking him, they said, "The central government has given the order, 'Beating them to death counts as suicide.'"
Liu Wanli's mouth and nose were bleeding from the beatings. Policemen saw that Liu Wanli still was not cooperating, so they became enraged and employed even more vicious tools to torture him. Liu Wanli's burned flesh gave off an unbearable odor, many parts of his body were severely deformed, and his face was so deformed that it became completely swollen.
In April 2005, Liu Wanli went home from Hulu Island Forced Labor Camp. He worked as a carpenter to support his elderly parents. Liu Wanli worked earnestly and always received positive comments from customers. He did not expect the evil CCP (Chinese Communist Party) officials to persecute him again.
However, on November 17, 2005, Hulu Island City Police Department and Suizhong County Police Department police took Liu Wanli away again. In addition, they ransacked his home. Policemen confiscated his Falun Gong books, notebook computer, laser printer, inkjet printer, paper cutter, book stapler, printing accessories and some other personal belongings.
After Liu Wanli was taken away, he was illegally detained at Suizhong Detention Center. The police intend to further persecute him. They have also prohibited his family from visiting him and sending him material goods. It has been learned that policemen and local government officials intend to illegally sentence Liu Wanli to prison.
Ms. Miao Xueying, 75, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Shenyang City in Liaoning Province. She started practicing Falun Gong in late 1996. In November 2000, Ms. Miao went to Beijing City to appeal for Falun Gong, but she was illegally arrested by the police at the Shenyang City North Station and sentenced to forced labor. While being held in the Longshan Forced Labor Camp, her mind and body were greatly injured and she started to have illness symptoms, including hypertension and heart disease. Six months later she was released to seek medical treatment. During the past several years, police officers and staff members from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Residential District Office often came to her house to harass her, making it difficult for her to practice Falun Gong. As a consequence, her health worsened and finally she passed away on January 11, 2006.
Mr. Li Jixiao, 45, was a practitioner from Xiazhuang Village, Handan County, Handan City in Hebei Province. On October 23, 2000, because he was printing Falun Gong truth clarification materials, the police from the Beizhangzhuang Police Station of Handan County arrested him. At the police station he refused to cooperate with the police and write the three statements, so he was sentenced to forced labor. In September 2002, he was arrested by the police from the Xiazhuang Village 610 Office and taken to the No. 1 Detention Center of Handan City, where he was held and subjected to brainwashing. Because he refused to cooperate, he was taken to the Xixingtai Forced Labor Camp of Handan County, where he was tortured for a year. After he was released from the forced labor camp, he continued to do truth clarification work. However, his family members did not understand him and even started trying to keep him from practicing because of the intense psychological pressures created by the numerous arrests and tortures. This greatly injured his mind and his heart. In early October 2005, he started having discomfort in his body. His family members sent him to the hospital for emergency treatment but it proved to be ineffective. Sadly, he passed away on October 8, 2005.
Ms. Liu Wangzhen, 41, was a practitioner from Macheng City in Hubei Province. Prior to practicing Falun Gong, she had many illnesses. She was always mentally and physically exhausted and anxious and impatient. In June 1999, she was fortunate enough to learn Falun Gong. Her understanding of the truth of life allowed her to get rid of numerous discomforts and many worries. She always told others that Falun Gong allowed her to have a new life. Her life became happy. Unfortunately, less than two months after she learned Falun Gong, she became a target of the senseless persecution carried out by Jiang's evil regime. She lost the environment for group study and group practice as well as the environment for discussions with fellow practitioners for further improvement. She continued to resist all evil interference and persecution using her free time after her work and also used her personal experience to clarify truth to people. Nevertheless, because of the evil persecution, she passed away on April 7, 2003.
Ms. Huang Aihua from Jiujiang City in Jiangxi Province benefited both physically and mentally from practicing Falun Gong. Because she clarified the truth of Falun Gong, she was repeatedly persecuted by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents, leading to the severe damage of both her mind and body. She passed away on December 12, 2004, from the recurrence of former illnesses.
Ms. Huang Aihua, 53, worked in the Ganbei Motor Vehicle Station of Jiujiang City in Jiangxi Province. Prior to her practicing Falun Gong, she had multiple illnesses, including breast cancer and cirrhosis of the liver. Despite being treated with all kinds of medical approaches, her illnesses persisted. For her, being alive was worse than death, and living through each day was like living through a whole year. In April 1994, she was fortunate enough to learn Falun Gong. From then on, her spirit was uplifted and her face glowed with health.
After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Ms. Huang appealed for Falun Gong by describing her personal experience of the practice to the government. For doing this, however, she was illegally detained and persecuted.
In May 2000, when Ms. Huang went to Beijing to appeal, the authorities detained and tortured her in the Sanlijie Detention Center of Jiujiang City. On January 14, 2001, officers from the Nanhu Police Station of Jiujiang City, as well as people from her work place, arrested her again and took her to the Shili Detention Center of Jiujiang City, where she was subjected to forced brainwashing until July 2001. She was held there for over six months before she was released for medical treatment with the help of her family members.
On May 17, 2003, she was arrested again while distributing truth-clarification materials and put into the Balihu Detention Center of Jiujiang City. Her family members bailed her out after having several thousand yuan extorted from them by officials from the local 610 Office.
Due to repeated threats and torture as well as the constant harassment by the police at home, Ms. Huang Aihua's mind and body were both greatly damaged. In 2004, her former illnesses recurred. The liver cirrhosis reached its final stage with ascites. She passed away on December 12, 2004.

22. [Yucheng City, Shandong Province] The Persecution of Mr. Ran Dong
Mr. Ran Long, 43, lived at Ranzhai Village, Fangsi Town, Yucheng City of Shandong Province. On August 29, 2002, Mr. Ran Long was arrested at Tiananmen Square in Beijing. The staff from the 610 Office of Yucheng Police Department escorted him back and detained him in Yucheng Detention Center for two weeks. Because Mr. Ran continued to practice Falun Gong, he was sentenced to two years of forced labor. After a physical examination in Sanba Hospital, Mr. Ran was diagnosed with high blood pressure and the forced labor camp refused to take him. He was sent back and detained at the Yucheng Detention Center for nearly three months. During that time, he was sent to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp, but the camp authorities sent him back due to health problems. The 610 Office sent two boxes of Yuwangting Wine to bribe the Shandong Provincial Second Forced Labor Camp staff and also invited them to dinner. Finally the forced labor camp accepted Mr. Ran without testing his blood pressure.
During his twenty days in the forced labor camp, Mr. Ran Long was subjected to daily brainwashing, was forced to watch slanderous videos attacking Falun Gong, and had to sit on a small stool for a prolonged time. He was later transformed. Since his blood pressure was always high, the forced labor camp was afraid that he might die inside and took him back to the detention center.
On March 5, 2003, during the National People's Congress and the Political Consultation Conference, the practitioners who were released for medical treatment or who had returned home for medical reasons were taken back to the forced labor camps. Mr. Ran Long was then working in another city. The 610 Office and police from Fangsi Town Police Station arrested him and took him to a forced labor camp.
When Mr. Ran was arrested, the 610 Office and Fangsi Town Police Station agents ransacked his home, took away all the Falun Gong books, threatened his family members, and fined him 5,000 yuan. Because the family did not have any money, the perpetrators threatened to take away their cow. The family had to borrow 1,000 yuan, which they turned over to the perpetrators. They were not given a receipt.
