 Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Xiaojie is being illegally held at the Beijiao Prison in Shijiazhuang City. He is paralyzed from torture and cannot take care of himself. The prison authorities did not grant any medical treatment and do not allow family visits. His anguished parents strongly urge the prison authorities to release Yang Xiaojie on medical parole.

Yang Xiaojie from Shijiazhuang City worked at the North China Branch of the China Youth Daily. On September 29, 2000, he and his wife Liu Runling left home to avoid persecution. The police issued an arrest warrant for both of them in October 2000. The couple was arrested on the evening of September 28, 2001. The police held them at the police department for many days during which time they tortured them. The evildoers forced Yang Xiaojie, who always refused to cooperate, to sit on a metal chair for seven days and nights. In July 2003, Yang Xiaojie was illegally sentenced to eleven years in prison and was held at Beijiao Prison in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province (this is the former Hebei Province No. 4 Prison).

Yang Xiaojie's wife was held at the 2nd Prison in Shijiazhuang City. Their 16-year-old daughter Yang Wenjing lives with her grandparents who are both in their late 60s and live on a minimal pension. Yang Wenjing was forced to quit school and work to provide for herself.

At the Beijiao Prison, Yang Xiaojie was savagely tortured for persisting in his belief.

In 2003, prison brainwashing center head Wang Guobin ordered inmates to beat and kick Yang Xiaojie, which resulted in two of his teeth being knocked out. In June 2004, Yang Xiaojie held a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Wang Guobin ordered him to be force-fed with a highly-concentrated saline solution. Yang Xiaojie almost choked on the solution. Due to the rapid feeding and the explosive sensation the salt water caused, he suddenly sat up in bed and pulled out the feeding tube. Three people failed to hold him down. In the following three days Yang Xiaojie coughed, vomited blood and ran a high fever. He suffered far more than we know.

During the past year, the prison authorities repeatedly refused to let his family visit him. They claimed his family would be denied visitation as long as Yang Xiaojie still practiced Falun Gong. On December 16, Yang Xiaojie's family again went to the prison and asked to meet with him. They were told that he had suffered a spinal fracture and was paralyzed as a result. He cannot take care of himself.

Yang Xiaojie's parents are furious. They said, "Our son is paralyzed and cannot take care of himself. He should be released on medical parole, yet we are not even allowed to see him!"

Below is a letter from Yang Xiaojie's parents to the Hebei Province Prison Administration Bureau urging the authorities to release him on medical parole:

Our son Yang Xiaojie was sentenced to eleven years in prison for his belief in Falun Gong. He was detained at the Beijiao Prison in mid July 2003. Hereby we want to tell the truth about the persecution against our son at the Beijiao Prison:

Between September and December 2003, Wang Guobin, a prison official, ordered inmate Fan Jiangshan to beat our son, which caused him pain in the stomach and two of his teeth fell out. He was handcuffed and shackled afterwards.

Jiangshan was released early because he persecuted Falun Gong, which earned him a sentence reduction.

On the evening of June 2, 2004, our son refused to watch a slanderous video and was detained in solitary confinement. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. In the morning of June 6, 2004, Wang Guobin tortured our son with force-feeding. He inserted the feeding tube into his throat through his nose, and he switched to a thicker tube and inserted it again. With orders from Wang Guobin, the doctor force-fed him with highly concentrated saline solution all at once. The salt water quickly filled our son's nose and mouth and lungs. Due to the explosive sensation it caused, our son suddenly sat up in bed and pulled out the tube. The three force-feeding people failed to hold him down. You can imagine how much pain he was experiencing! Three days following the force-feeding our son kept coughing, vomiting blood and running a high fever.

February 16, 2005 was the first visitors' day in 2005. Authorities from Ward 11 at the prison told us that we are not allowed to see our son because he hadn't "reformed." We had no choice but to leave. On December 14 the cell head told us to bring a blanket. We went to the prison office building at 2:00 p.m. on December 16. We wanted to deliver the blanket and ask the officials for an opportunity to meet with our son. The staff stopped us and didn't allow us to meet with the prison authorities. I [Father] said to group head Huo, "We want to meet with our son. We haven't seen him for more than a year, and as his parents we are really worried. We can't take it anymore!" Huo said, "Even if we let you see him now, he would not be able to make it to the reception room."

I was shocked and went weak in the knees. I asked, "What happened to him?" Huo said our son had suffered a spinal fracture a while ago. "Then I'll go see him because I can walk." "You want to! Prison policy says you can't see him unless he 'reforms.' There is nothing we can do." "How does he use the restroom, then?" "There are people taking special care of him. The toilet is inside his room. The heater is broken and he is cold. He asked for a blanket and you've brought it for him. I'll make sure he gets it. Now go home!"

We cried and reluctantly left the prison. Around 8:00 p.m. I phoned the main group head who told me our son had "fracture of the fourth spinal disc that happened a while ago." "How did he break his spine?" "I don't know." "Is he in a body cast?" "No. He is resting in bed and cannot take care of himself."

We felt horrible.

Our son, paralyzed, cannot take care of himself. According to constitutional law he should be released on medical parole, yet the prison authorities don't even let us see him! They write down the inmates' rights and display them on a wall, only for show when their superiors come during an inspection. Their actions are exactly opposite from their words. They wrote, "Inmates have visitation rights on certain days. Inmates are not subjected to personal insults. Inmates' personal safety is protected," etc.

Our son is not a criminal. On the contrary - he is a good person whom everyone who knows him holds in high regard. In this prison, however, a good person does not even have the rights enjoyed by an inmate and is instead cruelly tortured. Right and wrong has been turned upside-down! We want to say to officials of the Hebei Province Prison Administration Bureau that the authorities at the No. 4 Prison, as administrators of the law, have violated the law. We strongly urge that you prosecute the criminals to the full extent of the law.

Our son had two teeth knocked out, is now bedridden due to a spinal fracture and cannot take care of himself. We strongly demand our son to be granted medical parole! Medical parole!!!

The only reason that the 2nd Squadron of the 2nd Group in Shijiazhang Forced Labor Camp was established was to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Guards Bian Shuqiang, Zhang Li, and Dong Xinguo use all sorts of methods to persecute practitioners. In addition to participating in the persecution themselves, the guards also instigate Collaborators and other inmates to torture Falun Gong practitioners physically and mentally. Below are some of their most often-used methods:

Before the Falun Gong practitioners arrive, the guards analyse the personal situations of each one and devise a tailor made persecution plan for them. As soon as the practitioners arrive, they are each taken to a small cell (there are three such cells in No. 2 Squadron) and separated from the other practitioners. Several inmates monitor each of them 24 hours a day. Practitioners are not allowed to sleep or lie down. There is no bed in the cell, only a table and a few stools.

The guards conduct their persecution plan in secret and create a terrifying, lonely and helpless atmosphere for the practitioners.

They arrange six to eight collaborators to help "transform" the practitioners. Two or three collaborators team up to "talk" to the practitioners in turn 24 hours a day, exhausting the practitioners both physically and mentally, numbing their spirits, making their mental states becomes fuzzy. Then they poison practitioners' minds with their misunderstandings and try to make them go astray. The guards tightly control all of these activities. This kind of physical and psychological persecution goes on continuously for three to five days, but sometimes for more than a dozen.

At this stage, the guards usually put on a false face of "kindness." While they don't show up very often, they monitor everything closely, having the collaborators report to them every one or two hours. Sometimes they stealthily peer into the cells through tiny peepholes in the doors or windows especially made for this purpose. They adjust their persecution methods according to the situation of each practitioner. Every Falun Gong practitioner who has been sent to the 202 Squadron has suffered this kind of persecution.

The guards use collaborators to distort the content of Falun Gong books and Teacher's articles by quoting the contents out of context and wilfully misinterpreting the contents to mislead practitioners who haven't read Falun Gong books well. They try to confuse practitioners' hearts and minds to shake their righteous faith in Teacher and Falun Gong. They also try to induce practitioners to enlighten along the evil path by taking advantage of their attachments. For example, they twist "trying to be a good person" in Falun Gong's text into "learning from Lei Feng and being a good person," or "serving the people." They use "looking within" to mislead practitioners into believing that they must "abide by the law," thus denying Falun Gong practitioners' righteous actions safeguarding Falun Gong. They also attack our website to distance practitioners from Teacher and Clearwisdom (Minghui).

Under such great pressure, one practitioner's black hair turned white in one night. The guards play videos and read articles by those in literary and scientific circles, who write specifically to defame Teacher and Falun Gong, and to infuse practitioners with the Communist Party culture.

The guards instigate the inmates to physically torture, beat, bind and hang the practitioners who are steadfast in their belief or who they think have not been "transformed" well enough. In 2002, inmates, encouraged by the guards and collaborators, beat a practitioner named Fu. Another practitioner named Zhang was hung on a double bunk for a long period of time as punishment for refusing to "transform."

Four practitioners who were regarded as not having been "transformed" well were forced to sit on a small stool, facing the wall, for fifteen or sixteen hours a day. They were surrounded by inmates and had to sit there all day long except for going to the restroom and washing. If they disobeyed a little bit, the monitoring inmates severely beat or abused them. Every day, against their will, they were forced to write articles that slandered Teacher and Falun Gong. There were even special requirements for using the restroom and washing: they had to wash before everyone else got up, they could only use the restroom when no other Falun Gong practitioners were there, and they had to be accompanied by the monitoring inmates.

The guards use every possible trick, threat and intimidation to push practitioners to the opposite side of Falun Gong. They force practitioners to speak or write words that slander Falun Gong, and try to force practitioners to act against their conscience and their moral values. They then force practitioners to write so-called "exposing and repudiating" articles to attack Falun Gong, and thus push the practitioners into an abyss that is difficult to climb out of. The guards also use this method to test whether practitioners have really been brainwashed successfully.

The special methods used to persecute practitioners include poisoning them while they are already in an extremely painful state of mind by forcing them to accept 17 false statements about Teacher and Falun Gong. They also force practitioners to express their "gratitude and loyalty" to the Communist Party. No matter what kind of eduction the practitioners have had, they have to write an "exposing and repudiating" article that is ten thousand words long. Then they have to read the article in public. It takes 40 to 50 minutes to read an article that long. For example, the Clearwisdom website reported the case of Falun Gong practitioners Chen Jingshan and Chen Heixiao. Chen Jingshan had only a primary school education and was tortured to death. Chen Heixiao lived in the countryside and was almost illiterate. Although it was extremely difficult for them and they hardly recognized the words, both of them were forced to hand copy "exposing and repudiating" materials that were as long as 20 pages and more than 10 thousand words.

The Chinese Communist Party is very cruel. They force their victims to commit crimes so as to drag them down, and persecute them spiritually and physiologically.

Guards Bian Shujiang, Zhang Li and Dong Xinguo of the 202 Squadron, Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp have been violently persecuting Falun Gong practitioners all these years. They will surely face retribution for their crimes.

The above is what I know of the 202 Squadron of the Shijiazhang Forced Labor Camp. Many of the acts they have committed in order to torture Falun Gong practitioners still remain undocumented.

 Mr. Yan Li was tortured to death by officials of the Hongshan District Police Department and the detention center in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. His body was cremated without the authorization of his family. Local citizens have reacted angrily to the incident.

The violent actions of Chifeng Police Department, the State Security Branch, and the Hongshan District Police Department have aroused the indignation of the people. Recently, banners have appeared proclaiming such sentiments as "Punish Murderer Bu Ren," "Expose the Murder of Yan Li at Hongshan Police Department," and "Expose the Evil Murderer Bu Ren of Hongshan Detention Center - Release Wang Xiaodong Immediately." Concerned citizens have filed a lawsuits at the Hongshan Procuratorate, the Hongshan Court, at the Chifeng City Procuratorate, the Chifeng City Court, the Inner Mongolia Procuratorate, and the Inner Mongolia Court concerning the murder committed by the Hongshan District Police Station and the detention center. The lawsuits seeks to put the murderer Bu Ren on trial and demand the release of Falun Gong practitioners who are still being detained.

The wife of victim Yan Li said, "Five thousand yuan as compensation? Even 500,000 yuan couldn't buy me. My husband died an unjust death and I want the murderer to bear the consequences. He should be punished for his crime.

Mr. Yan Li, 40, was an employee of Nu'erhe Fabric Factory in Jinzhou City, where he worked as chief dispatcher and assistant to the department director and to the head of the production section. He started practicing Falun Gong in December 1995.

After "April 25", 1999, Mr. Yan Li went to Beijing to clarify the truth and appeal for justice nine times. Because of his actions he lost his job and was detained twice at Jinzhou City Detention Center. On October 25, 1999, he was sentenced unlawfully to two years of imprisonment at Jinzhou Forced Labor Camp. He was steadfast in his beliefs and refused to be "transformed." As a result, he was subjected to all kinds of torture and spent several months in solitary confinement. After he served the two years, for no reason his imprisonment was prolonged for another nine months. During this time he was force fed because he had gone on a hunger strike. He was not released until he was unable to eat anything and was on the verge of death. However, on November 22, 2005, Mr. Yan was again illegally arrested at his residence on Yinhang Lane, Hada Street, Hongshan District, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. The State Security Branch, Chifeng Police Department and Hongshan Police Department were responsible for the arrest. He was then detained at Hongshan Detention Center and tortured to death between November 24 and December 7. Details are still under investigation.

Other practitioners currently detained at the detention center include Wang Xiaodong, Yang Dong, Gao Yalu, Sun Shufen. Of particular note is Wang Xiaodong, whose life is in extreme danger.

Sixty-seven year-old Associate Professor Li Shaorong of Xinyang Normal College is a practitioner. He has been persecuted many times over the years for his practice of Falun Gong.

On September 14, 2005, Mr. Li Shaorong was working when eight people, including the school security guard Ding Zhiqiang and several 610 officers, arrested him. He is being detained in the basement of the Political and Legal Institution.

During his illegal detention, the authorities have refused to let Professor Li eat or sleep. They forced him to write the so-called "guarantee statement." If he refused, he was punished. The 610 Office also ordered seven evildoers, one whom is called Zheng Min, to take turns monitoring Mr. Li and keeping him from sleeping. If Mr. Li did not cooperate, they would beat him and force him to sit or kneel on Master's photo.

Professor Li used to earn 1700 yuan per month. But since March 2005, he has only been paid 300 yuan as living expenses.

In September 1999, Li went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. The Beijing police illegally arrested him. He was sent to the Xianshan Detention Center in Xinyang City. He was released after 15 days and after the detention center had extorted 2000 yuan from him.

At the end of August 2001, Mr. Li was once again illegally detained at the Xianshan Detention Center and fined 4000 yuan.

In July 2003, Professor Li was on his way home to Luoshan when some people reported him for clarifying the facts. He was then arrested by officers from the Luoshan Police Station and detained at Xinyang Normal College for three months.

In October 2004, Mr. Li was clarifying the facts in Luohe City and was illegally arrested by the Luohe City 610 Office. He was then detained in Luohe City for 10 days.

In June 2005, Mr. Li was detained at Xiaojiawan for five days for clarifying the facts.

Ms. Zhai Shuzhen lives in Bianjia Village, Daxing Town, Changtu County, Tieling City, Liaoning Province. Since the nationwide persecution against Falun Gong began in 1999, she has been persecuted in all kinds of ways for practicing Falun Gong. She was brutally beaten into unconsciousness and her ribs were broken. The authorities also extorted money from her. Now she has lost her eyesight and is unable to take care of herself.

Forty-six-year-old Ms. Zhai started practicing Falun Gong in 1999. Soon after, this illiterate lady was miraculously able to read Zhuan Falun. Her chronic back pain also disappeared.

When the persecution began, Ms. Zhai went to Beijing to clarify the truth.She was detained at the Changtu County Detention Center and the authorities extorted a large amount of money from her.

On the night of February 3, 2002, an informant in Congsheng Village, Jinjia Town reported Ms. Zhai to the local police while she was distributing truth-clarification materials there. Feng Bailin and Hou Wen'ge, the Jinjia Town assistant police chiefs, chased Ms. Zhai in a police car. When the pursuit came to the streets of Bianjia Village, Ms. Zhai tripped and fell. The policemen beat her so severely and brutally that she immediately passed out. Assuming she was dead, they fled the scene to escape responsibility for her death and arrested another female Falun Gong practitioner.

Upon regaining consciousness, Ms. Zhai slowly and arduously crawled home. Her family rushed her to Changtu County First People's Hospital. X-rays revealed four fractured ribs on her left side that were causing severe bleeding into the pleural cavity and a collapsed lung. Ms Zhai underwent surgery to remove the fluid from her chest cavity. Her head was swollen due to the severe beating. She required hospitalization for eleven days, for which she was billed over 6,000 yuan in medical expenses. She was forced to leave the hospital early because she could not afford to remain there. Three months later, the Jinjia Town Police Station attempted to send her to Masanjia Labor Camp. They planned to first send her to the Changtu County Detention Center and then transfer her to Masanjia Labor Camp. But this plan did not succeed because Masanjia Labor Camp refused to accept her due to her severe physical condition.

Since policemen Feng Bailin and Hou Wen'ge from the Jinjia Town Police Station brutally beat Ms. Zhai, she has not been able to do any physical work and often has headaches. Once she fell to the ground causing severe bruises over her body.

This year, her health has further deteriorated. Local hospital treatment has not made any improvement. Ms. Zhai often has severe headaches. She can no longer see and is unable to take care of herself.

Over the years, Ms. Zhai's family has spent about 20,000 yuan for her treatment and to pay the police money that they repeatedly extorted from the family. They are now deeply in debt. Her husband went to the Jinjia Town Police Station twice to seek justice, but each time he was severely beaten instead.

 Falun Gong practitioner Li Yequan has been detained at Daqing Labor Camp since September 27, 2005. He has been on a hunger strike to protest the torture. The police handcuffed him to a bed and left a feeding tube in his nostril continuously. By December 12, he had been on hunger strike for eighty-two days. When his family visited him, they observed that he was extremely weak and unable to walk. He could not raise his head and appeared to not even have the energy to raise his eyelids. His family could not hear what he said even listening close-up.

Mr. Li Yequan is thirty-eight years old. He was the former assistant director of the Shooting Bullet Factory plant. After the persecution started he had been repeatedly detained and forced to undergo brainwashing because he practices Falun Gong. On September 23, 2005, Li Yequan was once again arrested after being forced to leave home to avoid persecution. On September 27, he was sentenced to two years in a labor camp. He has been on hunger strike since, and he was brutally force-fed and tortured every day. Police Wang Yingzhou even force-fed him rice wine, spit into his mouth and poured cold water over him. He was handcuffed and chained for twenty-four hours with a feeding tube in his nose.

On December 12, when his family requested to see him at Daqing Labor Camp, they were given the runaround by the police. They had to wait for seven hours before they were allowed seven minutes to meet with him. The following is a brief account of what his family encountered that day:

At 8:30 a.m. on December 12, 2005, his family arrived at the office of director Liu, located in the discipline inspection Section of Daqing Labor Camp. Mr. Li's family wished to decry the vicious deeds of police officer Wang Yingzhou, such as force-feeding rice wine, spitting, and pouring cold water on Li Yequan. Director Liu immediately and stridently denied the accusations.

His family said, "Several years ago, the police beat inmates to death at this labor camp. We hope you can investigate this matter thoroughly. It is being responsible to Wang Yingzhou to stop his criminal conduct in time, and to prevent further deaths." Director Liu drove them out of his office in a rage.

Mr. Li's family then went to the discipline inspection office and told an assistant director named Shen the situation while someone else made a record of it.

His family later went to the office of Wang Yongxiang, the assistant director of the labor camp. They requested to see Li Yequan. Wang said rudely, "I will not allow you to see him. Come back in two years if you want to see him!" His family was left there with no one to help them. At noon, Wang Yongxiang opened the door and said, "You get out of here!" His family refused to leave unless they could see Li Yequan.

In the afternoon, Wang Yongxiang and Wang Yingzhou arrived back to their offices. Mr. Li's family once again requested to see Li Yequan. Wang Yingzhou said, "Ok, I will take you to see him." His family then followed him to the reception room of the 1st Group. Wang Yingzhou then disappeared and was not seen again. Hungry and cold, his family waited there until 1:30 p.m. They asked for someone to contact Lai Zhonghui and Wang Yingzhou. Wang Yingzhou said over the phone that they could not see Li Yequan because Wang Yongxiang had not given permission.

His family finally found Wang Yongxiang in the office building. Wang said, "You cannot see him. That's it. You can complain to whoever you want. I am not scared." His family then asked, "Which law says Falun Gong practitioners' families cannot see them? What are you trying to hide?" Wang Yongxiang said, "I don't allow it. That's it - Absolutely not." Cold, hungry and humiliated, his family said tearfully, "We won't leave until we see him. We will stay here!"

Just like that, his family waited around for seven hours, from 8:30 a.m. until after 3:00 p.m. They were finally allowed to see Li Yequan. However, police officer Wang Yongxiang ordered that the entire meeting not exceed seven minutes. In addition, his family was not allowed to talk with Li Yequan. The family saw Li Yequan being carried in by some other jailed criminals. He was ashen, malnourished and extremely weak. He did not seem to have the strength to raise his head. His family could not hear what he said even from close up. It was a very sad sight to see.

Falun Gong practitioner Liu Zhaojian, a resident of Jilin Province, had been locked up in a small cell in Jilin Prison for more than a year. The staff severely tortured him, and he lost weight until he was less than 90 pounds (40 kg). He was emaciated and hunchbacked. In 2005, they transferred Liu Zhaojian to Changchun Tiebei Prison, where he has been continuously persecuted. Liu Zhaojian has steadfastly refused to cooperate with his captors. Unfortunately, he developed symptoms of pulmonary tuberculosis and liver disease, and his condition worsened day by day. The 610 Office agents at Tiebei Prison were afraid of being held responsible if he died, so they unconditionally released him.

The police officers at the Siguanyingzi Police Station in Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province arrested Falun Gong practitioner Gao Minghui on December 11, 2005.

The National Security Group spied on Falun Gong practitioners Cui Shulan and Du Wenduo for a month and then 'had the police arrest them. The police harassed both practitioners' families and extorted 3,000 yuan from Cui Shulan's family and 2,000 yuan from Du Wenduo's family.

The Baoding Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province has illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners for a long time.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Yuzhi lived in Laiyuan County, Hebei Province. She is 55 years old and was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor for practicing Falun Gong. On October 1, 2005, she had nonstop rectal bleeding. Ms. Zhang underwent surgery at a hospital but was not allowed to go home. He was sent back to the labor camp to be further persecuted.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhao Yuehong lived in Anguo, Hebei Province. The guards once handcuffed her for more than 20 days.

The guards often verbally and physically abused determined Falun Gong practitioners held in the Strictly Controlled Class and forbid 'the practitioners there to interact with anyone.

Geng Chao is the head of the Xinji City Police Department and the city's National Security Group. Since the persecution began, he has followed closely Jiang's criminal group in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, kindhearted people who believe in "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance."

For years, Geng has searched innocent and defenseless practitioners' homes, extorted cash, taken possession of valuable items, tortured them to extract confessions, arbitrarily sent them to forced labor camps and prisons, and deprived practitioners of their basic human rights by following, monitoring and harassing them. As a result, many practitioners have been forced to become homeless and destitute, families have been broken up, and some practitioners have even lost their loved ones. Even today, Geng Chao and his gang continue to commit their criminal acts.

On November 24, 2005, a dozen officers, including Li Xiaofeng, and Erbao, led by Geng Chao, broke into Ms. Liu Guilian's home. Ms. Liu, 49, is a practitioner from Chifang Village, Xinjin City. The officers ransacked her home, found a couple of copies of Falun Gong books, and took possession of 3,100 yuan in cash and several deposit certificates totaling over 55,000 yuan. Ms. Liu was taken into custody at the police department and cruelly tortured during interrogation. The same evening, Geng issued orders to have Ms. Liu transferred to the city's detention center.

Ms. Liu was severely abused mentally and physically while being held in custody. Her family, relatives and friends tapped into all the connections they could think of to persuade Geng Chao and his gang to release Ms. Liu. She was released on December 2, 2005.

1. [Beijing City] Ms. Pu Lihua Illegally Held at the Shijingshan Police Department of Beijing City

Practitioner Ms. Pu Lihua, 38, is from the Shijingshan District of Beijing City. On December 21, 2005, Ms. Pu was arrested in her parent's house at Moshikou Street by the police from the Moshikou Police Station and the Bajiao Police Station. She is currently being held at the Shijingshan District Police Department of Beijing City. Ms. Pu Lihua was forced to leave home in 2000 to avoid being arrested. She was once arrested by the National Security Office, but was able to walk away.

Practitioners Ms. Wu Shuhua and Ms. Zhang Xiuzhen from Hongshan District in Chifeng City were illegally sentenced to forced labor by the police from the Hongshan District Police Department at the beginning of January 2006. Both practitioners were taken to and tortured in the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Practitioner Mr. Yang Dong from Songshan District was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor by the police from the Songshan District. He was sent to the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region at the beginning of January 2006.

Practitioner Ms. Wu Shujun from Songshan District has been on a hunger strike in the Songshan District Police Station to protest the illegal detention. She has been force-fed brutally.

Practitioner Mr. Wang Xiaodong from Hongshan District was illegally sentenced to forced labor for three years. Because of his extremely poor health condition, the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp refused to accept him. After forty-two days of hunger strike, Mr. Wang Xiaodong was released on January 2, 2006.

Practitioner Ms. Liu Suxiang from Cuimiao Township, Fucheng County, Hengshui City in Hebei Province was arrested when she was clarifying the truth and distributing the truth-clarification materials on the long-distance bus to Tianjin City.

On March 3, 2003, practitioner Ms. Yang Shulan was repeatedly slapped on the face by the guard Liu Lianying (female) in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp, just because Ms. Yang steadfastly practices Falun Gong and the guard was trying to force her to write the so-called guarantee statement.

At the end of August 2003, just several days before practitioner Ms. Zhao Guizhen was released, guard Liu Lianying (female) from the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp used an electric baton to hit Ms. Zhao in order to force her to write the so-called guarantee statement. Ms. Zhao's head was swollen due to the electric shock. Ms. Zhao has hypertension and her head felt dizzy and eyes dazzled when she was shocked.

On September 10, 2003, in an attempt to "transform" practitioner Ms. Wang Xiaoling, the guard Liu Lianying (female) used an electric baton to shock Ms. Wang twice. Ms. Wang had so much pain that she cried out loudly.

In 2003, in an attempt to "transform" practitioner Ms. Liu Li, guard Liu Lianying (female) used the electric baton to shock Ms. Liu's eyes until her eyelids were severely blistered.

Ms. Sun Yanxia, 27, is a practitioner from the Triumph Oil Field. On December 26, 2005, when she was clarifying the truth via sending messages with her cell phone, she was located by the police and illegally arrested. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.

The police from the Xuanmiao Town Police Station of Dangshan County in Anhui Province madly arrested Falun Gong practitioners prior to the New Year. They also illegally ransacked practitioners' homes, and even the homes of practitioners' neighbors. Among those who have been arrested are: Mr. Luo Feng, Mr. Pang Jiagan and Mr. Pang Jiaxi. They are currently being held and tortured in the Dongguan Detention Center of Dangshan County.

Practitioner Ms. Ou Yunjie, and her mother Ms. Liu Zhirong from Qingdao City, who is also a practitioner, were arrested on the evening of September 21, 2005. On October 28, 2005, Ms. Ou Yunjie was illegally given the authorization of her arrest. Her mother Ms. Liu Zhirong was illegally held in the detention center for thirty days before she was bailed out and returned home to wait for her trial. Recently, she also received the lawsuit statement from the procuratorate. Ms. Ou Yunjie's father is preparing to defend both practitioners and plead not guilty.

Practitioner Mr. Cui Luning from the Paohua Alkali Factory of Qingdao City was illegally arrested on September 22, 2005. Subsequently, he was held for thirty days in the Dasha Detention Center and later tortured in the Brainwashing Center of the 610 Office of Qingdao City. Around October 24, 2005, Mr. Cui was illegally given authorization of arrest. Currently he has been transferred to the Dashan Detention Center of Qingdao City and facing illegal trials.

At around 7:30 p.m. on December 24, 2005, when practitioner Ms. Gui Lan from Dengfeng City in Henan Province went to a fellow practitioner's house to obtain Falun Gong materials, she was followed and arrested by the police. Among those who were arrested at the same time are Mr. Zhang Xuesen and Ms. Li Congli.

Ms. Bao Peirong, 66, is a practitioner from Dongtanbu Village of Mengyin County in Shandong Province. Ms. Zhu Yihua and Ms. Zhu Xiuju, 48, are practitioners from Xitanbu Village of Mengyin County in Shandong Province. On December 29, 2005, when these practitioners were distributing the truth-clarification materials in Chenjia Village, Gaozhuang Town of Yishui County, they were reported to the police by the CCP Secretary of the Village Committee of Chenjia Village, Gaozhuang Town of Yishui County. On the same day, the police station sent police to illegally arrest them, and took them to the Yishui Detention Center where they are being tortured. The practitioners' family members were extorted of 3500 yuan.

Practitioners Mr. Liu Huiyao, Mr. Li Qibing and Mr. Jiang Zhongyin were reported to police and arrested in late December 2005, when they went to Henan Province to clarify the truth. They are currently held in the Hong'an County Detention Center.

On the morning of November 8, 2005, police from the Gaojia Town Police Station of Baoji City in Shaanxi Province forcibly arrested practitioner Ms. Zhao Xiu'e, 59, who is from the Gaojia Town. After the police officer took Ms. Zhao to the police station, they transferred her to the Women's Forced Labor Camp of Shaanxi Province and illegally sentenced her to fifteen months of forced labor on the same day, without going through any legal procedures.

Meng Qinghua (female) from the Public Security Department of the Tunxi District Police Department of Huangshan City has been involved in the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners since July 20, 1999. She has personally caused the death, injury and handicap of many Falun Gong practitioners. She also extorted a large sum of money (from several thousand yuan per person to several tens of thousand yuan per person) from Falun Gong practitioners.

In December 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Huang Yafei had to leave home to avoid being arrested due to Meng Qinghua's illegal lawsuit against her and her current whereabouts are still unclear.

Practitioners Ms. Liu Chenhong and Ms. Zhang Haiyan were arrested and detained by the Jingfu Police Station on December 29, 2005, when they were clarifying the truth at Dafuyuan District. They are currently held in the Xinglong Detention Center of Mudanjiang City.

Practitioner Mr. Li Hongjun from Benxi City in Liaoning Province has been held in the No. 1 Prison of Shenyang City because of practicing Falun Gong. Mr. Li Hongjun has been on a hunger strike for over fifty days in order to protest the illegal detention.
