The Mayor of Longkou City in Shandong Province gathered together police officers from the Longkou City Public Security Bureau, the local police station and the 610 Office to conduct a town-wide arrest of all Falun Gong practitioners in Xiadingjia Town, Longkou City. The officers then broke into practitioners' homes and confiscated their belongings.
Someone who didn't understand the truth about Falun Gong reported 76-year-old female Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Guo Fuxiang to the authorities. At around 11 a.m. on August 25, 2005, Zhan Shengfeng, secretary of the Village Party Committee led Meng Zhiyi of the Xiadingjia Judicial Committee, Xing Qishan of the State Family Planning Commission, Officer Zhang Kai of the Xiadingjia Town Police Station, as well as a newly transferred officer from Dongjiang Town whose surname is Qu, and broke into her family's home and ransacked it. Meng Zhiyi grabbed a wooden pole in the yard and brutally beat Ms. Guo with it. He wielded the pole so violently that it broke in two, yet he continued to physically assault the elderly Ms. Guo while angrily shouting at her. The violence caused the cassette player that Ms. Guo used to play the exercise tapes to break on the spot. The police confiscated two additional cassette players, more than ten Falun Gong books, as well as truth clarification materials and all of her Falun Gong music tapes. Then they arrested Ms. Guo. At the police station, after Meng Zhiyi used a copy of Zhuan Falun to smash Ms. Guo brutally over the head, she fell unconscious to the floor. Nevertheless, Meng Zhiyi continued to torture her. He grabbed her hair while she was still on the floor, yanked her up and continued his brutal assault on her. He intended to shock Ms. Guo with electric batons. Unable to bear the tortuous scene, those who were there told Meng that there were no electric batons left, sparing her that torment. Ms. Guo resolutely persevered. After six hours of torture, she was finally released. By that time, however, her face was entirely swollen (picture below). A deep fingernail scar marred her face, her body was covered with dark purple bruises, and she was suffering unbearable pain.
We can see Ms. Guo's swollen, scarred face after the brutal beating.
On August 26, 2005, four policemen came to Xiadingjia Town again, led by the Town Magistrate. They broke into and ransacked the home of Falun Gong practitioners Li Shiyu and Li Yuhua, a married couple, and the home of practitioner Han Cuiju. The police arrested all of them and took them to the police station, with the excuse that Falun Gong books and truth clarification materials were found when the police ransacked their homes. They weren't released until 2 a.m. the next morning.
That same afternoon and later that evening, policemen were sent to break into the homes of Falun Gong practitioners Yu Xiliu, Yu Hua, Yu Shoudong, Yu Xibo, Lu Renying and Chi Guihua. Mr. Yu Shoudong and his spouse were forced to leave their home to avoid arrest and persecution.
Ms. Chi Guihua was arrested and taken to the police station after the police found two exercise tapes in her home; she was detained until late at night. On August 27, they went to her home to arrest her again, using the pretense that she had clarified the truth in the police station, so Ms. Chi was also forced to leave her home to avoid being arrested again.
On the same day, the police broke into
the homes of Xing Qifu and Lu Rengui, Falun Gong practitioners from
Xingjia
Village and Layao Village, respectively. Practitioners who were
arrested and taken to the police station were forcibly fingerprinted
and photographed.

Mr. Wang Jinbo is the former credit department manager of the Yitong County Construction Bank in Jilin Province. Why "former"? Because he persists in practicing Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. For the past several years his workplace and the directors of the Siping City Construction Bank have persecuted him. Mr. Wang was illegally detained in a forced labor camp, where he became critically ill. The Siping City Construction Bank has now stopped paying Mr. Wang's wages and all benefits. They use every excuse not to let him resume his job.
Li Zhixue, the president of Yitong County Construction Bank, and Cheng Lidong, its vice president, illegally sent Mr. Wang to the detention center for persecution many times. In August 2002, he was arrested again and sent for three years of forced labor. On October 18, 2002, Mr. Wang was sent to Chaoyanggou Labor Camp in Changchun City, where he endured inhuman torture and persecution. By December 2004, Mr. Wang Jinbo had become emaciated as a result of the persecution. He weighed only 88 pounds. Before going to the forced labor camp he weighed 154 pounds. There were wounds all over his body, he could not walk or eat, and his life hung by a thread. The forced labor camp personnel had caused the death of practitioner Liu Ziwei on the night of December 13, 2004. Because they feared that Mr. Wang might also die, they notified his family to hurry and pick him up.
After Mr. Wang recovered, he asked to return to work at his old wage at the bank. Yitong County Construction Bank deferred responsibility to the city branch. Mr. Wang called and wrote to the city branch many times. The Manager of Human Resources Hou Dexiang said, "You are still within the ordered forced labor period and it is not our decision. The forced labor camp pays the wage and we have to wait until your term is over. Then we can talk about your job." Meng Bing, the president of the bank, said, "You are not an employee of the Construction Bank right now. We must leave it at that. The Communist Party makes the rules. We can't look at whether it is unjust or not."
In January 2005, Yitong County Construction Bank called the labor camp many times. Bank Vice President Cheng Lidong drove to the labor camp twice attempting to send Mr. Wang back to the camp, but he failed. Cheng then went to the 610 Office and tried to persuade them to send Mr. Wang back to the labor camp, but again he failed.
After the illegal detention term expired, Mr. Wang again requested that his workplace allow him to resume his work. At first, President Li Zhixue said there was no position. Then, after calling the Siping City Construction Bank, he said, "Hou Dexiang, the Manager of Human Resources at the city branch, wants proof of your forced labor release. Otherwise we are unable to discuss it." On September 2, 2005, Cheng Lidong drove to the labor camp again and returned. He said that the labor camp wanted Mr. Wang to go to the local police station or the 610 Office to get verification that he had served his forced labor term. Otherwise they would not consider reinstating him. Mr. Wang tried to reason with them, but they refused to listen. They said, "You can't work without the verification. You can't work, even if you sit there, and you won't be paid. This is a requirement of the city branch."
On September 7, 2005, Mr. Wang asked Su Quan, the vice president of City Branch, to allow him to resume work. Su Quan said, "You are still practicing Falun Gong and it has nothing to do with us. You can't come to us."
We hope that people all over the world who believe in justice can stop this persecution. Mr. Wang Jinbo needs help getting his job back.

Ms. Hou Fengyun, 61 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner in Changchun City, Jilin Province. At the end of 2001, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was sent to a forced labor camp for one year. Her family managed to get her out of the camp, but in the process, the authorities extorted ten thousand yuan from her. Due to the prolonged and relentless harassment and mental torment, she died on August 26, 2004.
Mr. Li Shuyou, 63 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner in Changchun, Jilin Province. He was the Chairman of the Union of The Transport Department's Highway Planning Institute in Jilin Province before he retired. In 2001, when he went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. He was arrested, sent back to Changchun and detained in the Daguang Detention Center for half a month. His home was ransacked. After he was released, the police constantly went to his house to harass him. They also arrested his wife, so he had to leave home and wander about. In the middle of March in 2002, when he went to a practitioner's house and just knocked on the door, the police, who were waiting in ambush there, arrested him. They tortured him for four days and nights and then sentenced him to a forced labor camp for one year. In August of 2004, he and his wife went to Beijing and stayed in his relative's home. They were tailed because they mailed out some truth clarifying materials. His wife was arrested, but Mr. Li managed to escape. The Beijing police followed him to Changchun in order to arrest him, and the local police also wanted to arrest him. Mr. Li was forced to leave home. He was severely traumatized by the constant persecution and died in August of 2005.
Mr. Ye Shengwen, 78 years old, was living in Shenyang in Liaoning Province. He benefited tremendously physically and mentally after he started to practice Falun Gong in 1995. After the Jiang regime began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, the Seven Road Police Station of the Tiexi Distinct community constantly harassed and threatened him. He was taken to the brainwashing center and was severely traumatized both physically and mentally. He died as a result on December 9, 2003.
Ms. Hao Manxiu, 42 years old, was a resident of Xincheng town of Xinji City in Hebei Province. Since July 20, 1999, she had gone to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Gong. Whenever she was detained, she was able to manage to escape. The 610 Office in Xinji arrested her twice, and, in March 2001, put her in the City Communist Party School. In April 2004, they sent her to the City Law Center, both of which are brainwashing centers. She was beaten so often there that her arms became ulcerated. When she went on a hunger strike to protest the torture, she was forced-fed and almost lost her life. Because of the severe torture, she became seriously ill, and couldn't take care of herself. Even when she was on life support in the hospital, the police still constantly harassed her. She died on July 6, 2005.
Mr. Ji Genyi, more than 70 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner in Yuhuang Village in Yanshan, Hebei Province. Since he started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, he has benefited greatly. After Jiang's regime started the persecution on July 20, 1999, he was arrested and sent to a brainwashing center for torture. Later, because he wrote the words, "Falun Dafa is Good" at home, he was arrested and detained at the Yanshan Detention Center where he was also tortured. While there, he suffered a stroke. In 2004, after his release, he died.
Ms. Ma Yuzhi, a Falun Gong practitioner from Yuhuanzhen Village of Qingyun Town in Yanshan, Hebei Province, suffered from serious coronary insufficiency and angina pectoris. The hospital could not do anything for her and pronounced her incurable. In the winter of 1995, she started to practice Falun Gong. As a result, she recovered and got a new life. In March 2001, after the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners started, the town government arrested Ms. Ma. The Yanshan 610 Office arrested her again in August 2001, and sent her to the brainwashing center for half a month. She was threatened again in March 2002. The persecution took its toll. She had a relapse and died in June of 2005.
Ms. Yu, 70 years old, a Falun Gong practitioner in Yuhuang village of Yanshan, Hebei Province, started to practice Falun Gong in 1996. Before practicing Falun Gong, she suffered from severe pains in her legs, and couldn't walk very far. After she started practicing Falun Gong, her health improved, and the pain in her legs also disappeared. After the persecution started, police from the Qingyun town Police Station arrested, detained and tortured her. She died in 2003.

Ms. Wang Chengyuan, 66 years old, lived in the Saertu District No. 3 Oil Extraction Factory in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. Before Ms. Wang started to practice Falun Gong, she was plagued with many health problems such as heart disease, diabetes and trifacial neuralgia. After she began to practice Falun Gong in July 1995, all her diseases disappeared. Ms. Wang Chengyuan was once the assistant for the Falun Gong exercise instruction and practice site at the No. 3 Oil Extraction Factory, where 500 to 600 practitioners once exercised. After Falun Gong was suppressed, due to the great benefits the practice had brought her, Ms. Wang continued to practice Falun Gong and, as a result, was repeatedly arrested, detained and persecuted.
Ms. Wang Chengyuan
On February 25, 2000, Ms. Wang went to Beijing to peacefully and lawfully appeal for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong. As a result of this appeal she was arrested and detained at the Saertu District Detention Center in Daqing City. During her detention she told the prisoners and police officers the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. When she suffered a dislocation of her cervical vertebra and could no longer control her body, the evildoers no longer dared to keep her, and she was released on April 26. On July 16, 2000, Ms. Wang was again arrested, sentenced to one year of forced labor and sent to the Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, for a year of forced labor. A week later, she was sent home due to severe weakness. On November 29, 2000, Ms. Wang again went to Beijing to appeal for an end to the persecution. Once again she was arrested, sent back to Daqing, and detained for more than four months. During that time, both her legs were in extreme pain and no longer functioned due to the persecution she had suffered. On May 16, 2001, Ms. Wang was arrested at home, but, due to her family's pleas, she was released on June 15.
In early July 2005, Ms. Wang's left leg was extremely painful. Both her leg and foot were terribly swollen, and a few days later her vision and hearing started to decline. Her mental state also deteriorated. She died early in the morning on August 6.
Ms. Liu Sumei, 78 years old, lived in the Ranghulu District of Daqing City. Ms. Liu began to practice Falun Gong in 1996, which led to the cure of the chronic appendicitis and chronic kidney infections that she had suffered for many years. Even after the persecution started, Ms. Liu was steadfast in practicing Falun Gong.
On June 18, 2000, Ms. Liu Sumei participated in practicing the Falun Gong exercises with other practitioners in front of the Daqing Oil Management Department and safely returned. Although Ms. Liu wasn't arrested, her daughter-in-law Xing Yuzhen was repeatedly arrested for her efforts to help stop the persecution and to expose the atrocities taking place. Early one morning in September 2002, Ms. Liu's son Jiang Nianxiang and her daughter-in-law Xing Yuzhen were both arrested. The police ransacked their home and confiscated their computer and 5000 yuan worth of gold jewelry. Afterwards, Jiang Nianxiang was sentenced to six years of imprisonment, and Xing Yuzhen was sentenced to three years of forced labor. Ms. Liu could hardly bear witnessing such evil deeds. She fell into a trancelike state and had difficulty walking. She died in September 2003.
Although three or four months have gone by since I came here, the memory of my arrival still dwells in my memory. At the beginning, I thought that forced brainwashing was a trial that I could deal with easily, but after spending some time in the Qingdao City Labor Camp I realized that things were not as I expected them to be. "Forced labor" and "brainwashing" are totally different things. I would rather be sentenced to three years in prison than be sentenced to one year in a labor camp. The cruelty in the labor camp is beyond my imagination.
After I came to the Qingdao City Labor Camp I was assigned to a "special" position because of my old age. I became a tough superintendent. My duty was to watch over Falun Gong practitioners. At that time I did not think that Falun Gong practitioners were anything special so I was really surprised when I heard the supervisor and other Falun Gong practitioners' accounts of the practitioner I was assigned to watch. He had been on a hunger strike for more than one and a half years, and had suffered numerous hardships, yet remained steadfast in his belief. He was regarded by the camp authorities as "stubborn to the extreme." The leaders of the labor camp were concerned with his case the most. They sent seven people to watch over him at one point. My first thought was that this person must be strongly built with an unpleasant appearance. But when I saw him, way beyond my expectation, I found that he was a gentle and polite person who spoke softly. He was completely different from the others in this regard. But at that time I was still very cautious of him in my heart. I rarely spoke to him. I was told by the officials in the labor camp not to talk to him.
As time went on, and I had more contact with him, I came to understand him more. What he had gone through was not something an ordinary person would be able to endure. This precisely demonstrates the cruelty of every political campaign the Communist Party has staged. He was deprived of any sleep for half a month, but he managed to endure it. If I were he, I would not have been able to endure it. Every day, several times a day, he was beaten with high-voltage electric batons, but he was able to manage it. If I were he, I would not have been able to. Every day, several times a day, a group of people took turns bashing his face, but he bore it. If I were he, I would not. In the cold winter he was stripped and forced to lie on the wet cement floor. He was able to bear it. If I were he, I could not. He was able to go on hunger strike for his belief for one and a half years, but if I were in the same situation as his, I would not be able to. His child was not yet one year old, and he had never seen him because of the illegal detention.
The hardships this Falun Gong practitioner has gone through are far greater than what I have just described. While I am writing this story, my heart is bleeding. I can barely muster the courage to continue writing his story. I am so ashamed of our country. Is this the way that our society treats those people who do not give up their beliefs? His belief is in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance! In the future if I have time, I will give a detailed account of how he and another Falun Gong practitioners were tortured, and let the world know what the so-called "help and education" in the labor camp really is under the Chinese Communist regime, and what the so-called "Democracy and the Rule of Law" they claim to have really is. I would like the world to have the opportunity to respond to these facts. The Chinese Communist regime deceives its own people who pay taxes to them and feed them. Is their behavior worthy of the people's trust?
The following is my account of a small portion of the torture Falun Gong practitioners endured. This is only the tip of the iceberg. But from this tiny account you can imagine how the whole picture of the persecution is.
This Falun Gong practitioner's name is Wang Bingwen. Wang is a university graduate. Three years ago he was the Director of the Fire Department of the Laoshan Branch of the Qingdao City Public Security Bureau. He had a happy family as well. He came across Falun Gong by chance. His friend introduced him to the book Zhuan Falun. He bought one and read it through. He found that this book was very good and could not put it down. After he took up practicing Falun Gong, he quit smoking and drinking alcohol. He no longer took bribes or committed embezzlement, but in a society in which the right and wrong are inverted and the white can be turned into the black, how could he possibly survive by living an honest life, let alone the fact that he practiced Falun Gong? Thus, he became the first target to be fired from his position once the persecution of Falun Gong started. Later on he changed to several different workplaces. Each time, he was harassed and had to change jobs. In the end he lost his job and was taken to a labor camp for brainwashing.
The policemen and the officials in the labor camp took turns bashing him in the face, several hundreds of times every day. But he did not give in. Then they turned to the electric shock batons and wooden clubs to beat him with twice a day. These did not affect him either. Then they used the method of depriving him of sleep for half a month until he was so sleepy that he would fall asleep when he was standing or talked nonsense. But even so, they still did not succeed in making him slander his Master. Then they tied him to a bed all day long. He couldn't eat or go to the toilet by himself. They beat him using electric batons. Several electric batons were charging all the time. They prepared 20 packs of cigarettes, lit the cigarettes and inserted them into both of his nostrils until the 20 packs were consumed. The perpetrators still did not get want they wanted from him. So they resorted to all kinds of other torture methods including the tiger bench and hot pepper water. But this seemingly fragile practitioner had a will of steel and iron. He never gave in.
Up to the point when I was transferred to another place, the Qingdao City Labor Camp had no other ways to deal with him. They had used all sorts of hoodlum-like torture methods, but there was no effect on him. In the end they had to give him up. Mr. Wang's high morals and perseverance were incredibly admirable, but who knows whether he will be able to survive this persecution in the end?
There was another practitioner whose name I cannot remember. He was a postgraduate. He firmly believed that Falun Gong teaches the truth of the universe and that it is very scientific. No matter how he was intimidated or tempted with personal interest he was not moved at all. After he was detained in Qingdao City for several months, he was sent to Wangcun, the labor camp that is notorious for its persecution of Falun Gong. There were all sorts of torture instruments there, including the so-called seventy-two torture instruments of Wangcun. The perpetrators under the Chinese Communist regime severely tortured him and damaged his brain. He became senseless. One day he fell from upstairs directly down to the ground floor and died. His wife was severely traumatized by his death. She became mentally unstable and was sent to the mental hospital.
Through this window of the Qingdao City Labor Camp we can see the true reality of the whole country. I hope that people with a conscience can seriously think, "How long can such a gangster-like and corrupt society as this last? Does it need to exist? We must realize that the winter has come. Could the spring be far away?" Everyone, please have a little patience and wait for the dawn to come.
There are several kinds of agencies specifically set up by the Chinese Communist Party to persecute Falun Gong. They are: the 610 Office, National Security organizations, Public Security organizations, "Transformation Centers" (brainwashing centers), and the Anti-Cult Association.
The 610 Office, officially called, "The Leadership Team to Deal with the Falun Gong Problem," is an arm of the Communist Party system. Following the establishment of the Central Committee 610 Office, each province, city, county, and township has formed a corresponding organization, which has full control over any issue that has to do with Falun Gong.
Special organizations have been set up in the National Security system and Public Security system at the national, provincial, and municipal levels, focusing on Falun Gong issues outside China.
In the Public Security system, there are National Security departments established at different levels. At the provincial level, there is a general team, while at the municipal level, there are branches tasked with abducting and arresting Falun Gong practitioners.
The Transformation Centers, officially called, "The Legal Education and Training Center," are in fact brainwashing centers. They charge Falun Gong practitioners between 5,000 and 10,000 yuan each time, in order to "transform" them. This amount is usually paid either by the practitioners' work units or their family members.
The Anti-Cult Association, a "mass" organization under the leadership of the 610 Office, reaches from the national level to the municipal level. This year, officials were required to set it up at the county level. All the board members of the association at each level are well-known people who do not have specific positions in the organization and have their own job. Some leaders of certain media are board members, too. But they are reluctant to publish articles reflecting this perspective.
Wang Yusheng, director of the Chinese Science and Technology Museum, has acted as the Vice Director and Secretary General of the Chinese Anti-Cult Association since 2000. He has attended the Human Rights Convention each year since 2001 and given speeches frequently in schools. The Chinese Anti-Cult Association has its office set up in the Chinese Science and Technology Museum. Below is the address:

It is the time when family and friends get together enjoying the bright full moon during the Mid-Autumn Festival. It is also the time that one yearns and sighs with emotion.
The world's affairs are numerous, complicated, and ever-changing, and people's lives are bittersweet and unpredictable. It is hard to have a smooth life as everyone would wish. As long as one lives, one's life is accompanied by the bitter and the sweet, the gathering and the parting. On the night of this Mid-Autumn Festival, the moon was full, bright, and at its best, but my heart was not. I looked at the sky and wandered under the lonely moon, and my heart was filled with pain and anguish.
During the 1990s, in China, the reforms started and the economy took off. The quality of life improved as days went by. The tragedy is that people's minds were changed significantly. People had changed from "looking forward" to "looking for money." Personal gain was everything. People had become more selfish and frightened. For money, the officials would take advantage of their positions and become corrupt; the people would take great risk, and collude with officials or gangsters to bully others. China became a land of gangsters. People became atheists and imbalanced. Morality collapsed and things deteriorated quickly. The whole society was a mess!
At this particular moment, there emerged a magnificent scene in China. It was like a lotus flower rising from the mud, pure and beautiful. It made everything fresh and new and attracted the public's attention. From 1992 to 1999, nearly 100 million people embraced Falun Gong. The emergence of Falun Gong brought joy and hope to millions of lost souls. From then on, people regained purity spiritually.
When the number of participants grew larger, unfortunately, even the most glorious thing would be viciously attacked under the rule of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
In July 1999, the king of terror landed from the sky. In Beijing, at Zhongnanhai, the wildfire of jealousy was accompanied by a strong wind that swamped everyone. Thus, it burned the clouds in the sky, toasted the rocks in the mountain, scorched the dirt on the ground, and darkened the rivers. The perpetrator was none other than the ruler of the CCP , Jiang Zemin, who claimed to "represent the people and progress." The blaze totally destroyed this glorious lotus and the pure land, and sent the entire nation back towards moral depravation and total destruction.
In order to destroy people's belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance," the suppression was extremely evil and severe.
In June 2003, Ms. Wei Xingyan, a 29-year-old Falun Gong practitioner and a master's degree student in the College of Electrical Engineering in Chongqing University, was abducted and raped in public by the police. After this atrocity was disclosed, Ms. Wei disappeared and her whereabouts are still unknown. The CCP's goal was that if it could not destroy one's belief, it would destroy one's will to live with prolonged imprisonment and torture.
On June 16, 2005, Ms. Gao Rongrong, a staff worker at the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, passed away in the First Medical Center of the China Medical University in Shenyang City after being severely tortured. Gao was 37 years old at the time. To destroy Gao's steadfast belief in Falun Gong, the extremely violent and wicked CCP police continuously disfigured her face with electric batons for seven hours. After that, the police injected her with neurological drugs to damage her brain. In the end, the police took her life with brutal torture.
Mr. Liu Chengjun from northeast China tapped into the Changchun cable TV station on March 5, 2002, and broadcast the truth of the persecution against Falun Gong. The heroic acts of Mr. Liu and his coworkers quickly revealed the lies that are used to persecute Falun Gong and disclosed the truth. The frightened dictator immediately gave the order to "kill without pardon", and thousands of Falun Gong practitioners were abducted. On March 24, Mr. Liu was arrested. The police intentionally fired two shots into Mr. Liu's legs after he was handcuffed and shackled, severely injuring him. After twenty-one months of torture, Mr. Liu died in a hospital in Changchun at 4:00 a.m. on Friday, Dec 26, 2003. The eyewitnesses saw blood in Mr. Liu's nose and ears and on his legs. A large number of police gathered in Jilin Prison that day and were ordered to cremate Mr. Liu's body.
In the past six years of persecution, many good lives have been lost and many smiling faces have disappeared. According to a report on the Clearwisdom.net, 2,728 people have died in the persecution. Numerous families have been torn apart, leaving the helpless elderly and children behind.
I walked alone under the full moon and the cool autumn breeze, and my heart was overwhelmed with many past tragedies. I could no longer bear the sorrow of so many people! Fortunately, "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance" is invincible, and this righteous belief could never be taken away! Falun Gong has spread to over 70 countries. Falun Gong is growing stronger every day, and it also has won the support of the people and justice around the world.
Chen Yonglin, former Chinese Consulate diplomat from Sydney, courageously disassociated himself from the Chinese Communist Party on May 26, several weeks before he was due to return to China. He took this brave step because of his dissatisfaction with the CCP's persecution of innocent people, including Falun Gong. He also exposed that China has one thousands spies and informants in Australia. Since then, the media throughout the world have regularly exposed the ugly behavior of the CCP's spies outside of China. Many of these exposés have occurred during Falun Gong practitioners' activities worldwide. Examples include spies operating during France's Quitting CCP Month, and those have been reported to the Federal Security Bureau. Some CCP spies have filmed activities in Perth, a remote city in Australia. These incident show that the monitoring, harassment and persecution of Falun Gong and dissidents overseas are incontestable facts, and also prove the CCP's evil nature.
I want everyone to know what I have experienced. This is a real story from one of the CCP's victims. I have been monitored and harassed by staff from the Chinese Embassy outside of China over the past several years.
I began to practice Falun Gong in China in 1994. At the time I was studying for a master's degree at a university in China. In early 1997, I went to South Korea to complete my doctorate degree. At that time, Falun Gong was introduced as a qigong method in Seoul, the capital of Korea. A Korean citizen had learned Falun Gong during a visit to China in 1996 and had taught it to others in Korea. From 1997, I became the first Chinese student to teach Falun Gong at Seoul National University. People from everywhere came to learn Falun Gong until 1999. By that time there were a few hundred Korean practitioners. Korean people naturally understand the concept of meditation practice that Falun Gong teaches because they have it in their traditional cultural background. Therefore, it did not take them long to understand the value of practicing "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." At that time one could find the peaceful and harmonious practitioners of Falun Gong in many parks in Korea.
On July 20, 1999, the CCP suddenly banned Falun Gong. When the unprecedented suppression, slandering and framing of Falun Gong by the Chinese media began, South Korea's media followed along and did the same disservice.
I immediately began to tell the truth of Falun Gong to the media. In order to get in touch with people who did not know the truth as soon as possible, we sent out lots of Falun Gong truth-clarification materials to all the mainstream media reporters, especially those who had already reported on Falun Gong.
Most nights there was no time to sleep as I urgently translated the Chinese information into Korean. The next day, Korean practitioners would polish the articles and we would email them to the reporters. In early August 1999, KBS TV station decided to interview Falun Gong practitioners. Therefore, we practiced the exercises as a group in Nanshan Park. We also publicly demonstrated the exercises and introduced Falun Gong. We showed them how peaceful Falun Gong was and that its practitioners followed "Truthfulness- Compassion-Forbearance." We wanted them to see that Falun Gong was nothing like the lies the CCP was publicizing.
Once reporters got to know us, they slowly began to report the true situation of Falun Gong and demanded just treatment of Korean Falun Gong practitioners in China. They also began to understand that the media in a communist country is controlled by its despotic regime, and its purpose is to suppress people. Also, having experienced the division of south and north Korea for half a century and having known the atrocities committed by the Communist North Korea with its military-dominant system, most Korean people living in a democratic environment instinctively empathize with the suffering of people suppressed by a communist government.
Unfortunately, the South Korean government, deceived by the CCP, began a public opinion offensive against Falun Gong and cast a dark cloud over the entire Korean populace. They classified Falun Gong as dangerous group, and began to listen in on practitioners' phones calls and monitor us. Some phoned Falun Gong practitioners to find out their whereabouts. Because I dared to expose the false media propaganda and disclose the CCP's lies, I was put on the CCP's blacklist. Chinese Embassy staff tried to intimidate and harass me during Falun Gong activities. The Chinese Embassy often put pressure on the Korean government, police departments and associated organizations concerning Falun Gong. Fearing public exposure of the inhumane persecution, the Chinese Embassy pressured these groups to cancel and disallow all public Falun Gong activities. Every Falun Gong coordinator's phone was tapped. They even used global positioning systems to monitor our cell phones.
On September 4, 1999, in a radio broadcast entitled, "Do you want to know if Falun Gong is a mysterious qigong or a new religion?" by SBS radio, the producer interviewed practitioners on the condition that Falun Gong would not be labeled as a cult, but the producer actually edited the entire program, and broadcasted a falsified report about Falun Gong to the entire Korean society. However, many people still considered us good simply because we were suppressed by the communist party. Many people called us after the broadcast to ask us questions about Falun Gong. They wanted to know more about the practice, and many began to practice Falun Gong.
Because of the continued harassment by the Chinese Embassy I had to change my cell phone number several times. During every peaceful parade and Falun Gong activity, there were secret agents wearing sunglasses there from the Chinese Embassy. They took pictures of or videotaped each practitioner, especially those from China.
During the winter of 1999, we practiced the exercises and held a peaceful parade and truth clarifying display in Songmiao Park despite heavy snow. One Korean practitioner told me that two Chinese people were filming the display and asked me to clarify the truth to them in Chinese. I walked over to them, and asked in Chinese with a smile, "Do you want to know the truth of Falun Gong? Are you tourists?" Then I told them the truth. The older person said he was from Heilongjiang. At that moment, another person wearing dark glasses filmed me. I knew that he was from the Chinese Embassy. Therefore, I pushed the lens away, but he continued to follow me around and film me. Both were secret agents from the Chinese Embassy. From that time on, they always came to our activities and filmed everything. Once I asked him: "Why do you film us?" He said he reported to China, and this was his "assignment."
In October 2000, during the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), which was held in South Korea, China's Prime Minister visited Korea. The Korean security department and police released opinions through the media, claiming that Falun Gong practitioners might protest and make trouble during the ASEM. They wanted to incite the public by assigning guilt first, and then monitor Falun Gong. In fact, the behind-the-scenes manipulator of this strategy was the CCP. It was a persecution caused by the Chinese government forcing the Korean government to do it.
Therefore, on October 11, 2000, we held a press conference in Seoul, organized by the Falun Dafa Association. At that time, we were not familiar with press conferences. The reporters taught us how to hold a press conference. We publicly announced to the government and media that Falun Gong practitioners would not create problems during the ASEM meeting. We also expressed our intention to request Jiang to immediately stop persecuting Falun Gong. Thus, the CCP's plot to frame Falun Gong outside of China failed. It did not achieve the purpose of inciting hatred towards Falun Gong. Instead we gained the sympathy of the Korean police who took extra steps to ensure our safety during the meeting.
In 2002, I moved to Japan for employment reasons. In October 2002, to let more Koreans in Japan know the truth of Falun Gong, I published an article introducing Falun Gong and its persecution by the CCP in a Korean language magazine. The article consisted of an entire page with contact numbers for workshops.
One day I received a phone call from a young woman with a Korean dialect suggesting she was from Yanbian in China. She was cursing like crazy. I said, "Why do you hold such hatred against Falun Gong? Would you behave like this if your relatives died in the persecution?" She said, "Why don't you stop practicing if you are persecuted?" I repeatedly explained that we do not mind whether we practice at home or outside, but you will still be arrested if you practice at home in China. She could not convince me to stop practicing, so she hysterically continued to shout. While on the phone, she was talking to a man and said, "I can't convince him, you speak to him." That man said, "Do you have evidence?" I said yes. He could not debate my rational truth-clarification, so he tried a vicious intimidation tactic. He asked where I lived and threatened me that he would come and look for me. I said, "Please come, we can talk face to face, and I will share with you all the persecution information I have available to me." He felt he would be at a disadvantage if he came to my place. He asked me to come to Xinsu Subway Station near where he lived and threatened that he would torture me to death. I asked, "Can you give me your telephone number? I will come, but how can I look for you without your phone number?" He was afraid of disclosing his phone number, so he shouted with a hoarse voice, "I will kill you." He was fuming and hung up. He called me two more times and simply repeated, "I will kill you." I told him, even if he kills me, he can't change my belief I told him to remember the heavenly principle that good is rewarded with good and evil is met with evil.
In April 2004, I came to the United States. Because the town where I lived is relatively small, many people did not know Falun Gong. Therefore, I became the contact person, and my name appeared on the website. I talked to practitioners in Korea and Japan on the phone as usual.
In the beginning, I did not feel the threat and harassment by the CCP spies as I did in South Korea and Japan. However, in early 2005, at 3 a.m. in the morning, the ringing of the phone woke me up. I picked it up and a man asked, "Are you so-and-so? Do you practice Falun Gong? I said yes." Listening to his voice, I could distinguish that his accent was not Korean, the accent was trained. I realized he was from the Chinese Embassy.
I said to myself, he has been monitoring me all along, and obtained my contact phone number. If they come for me, what can they get? This is to monitor and follow me? He asked me how I contacted other Korean practitioners in America, how does Korea stay in contact with Americans, and about the contact methods between American Koreans and so on. He also mentioned the names of practitioners in other states. I thought, he must be a spy. Why would someone who says they wish to learn Falun Gong ask such questions? In fact, during the conversation he hinted that he knew many details about me.
In every country I have lived in I have run into the CCP's spies. We cannot deny the fact that many CCP spies are around us outside of China. They watch and harass Falun Gong practitioners, trying to make us give up our belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." They want the world to be evil. They fear the sun. They are deeply afraid that their identity as a member of the evil, and their gloomy words and deeds, will be exposed. Therefore, revealing their identity is the best way to stop their wrongdoing. They are also poisoned by the CCP. No matter how special their occupation, they also need to understand the truth.
