He resisted firmly the evil persecution of Falun Gong.
He is a morally upright man, but the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) imprisoned him.

This man is Sun Lifu, a Falun Gong practitioner who lives by the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." He is an ordinary citizen, but he is noble, because he displays to the world the honesty, kindness, and compassion of a Falun Gong practitioner.

1. Leaving the Hope of a Bright Future for the people

Mr. Sun Lifu is 48 years old. He was a military officer at the Railway Military Branch of Nancha District, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province. He was then transferred to the Equipment Section of the Jiamusi Railway Bureau Branch Military Department as an assistant engineer.

Mr. Sun formerly served in the army, and on several occasions he was recognized for his outstanding achievements. The Military Committee interviewed him. Once, in order to keep his fellow soldiers safe, he accepted one of the most dangerous positions and was seriously injured.

Once during a military exercise at the Nancha District Military Branch, a civilian made a mistake when throwing a grenade. Mr. Sun risked his life to save over ten people's lives. Li Zheng and Sun Jihai were among those saved.

Mr. Sun saved money to help a poor student with the name of Ma Yonghui to finish his studies. He also risked his life to save Qu Lihua, a girl who had fallen down a steep incline.

Sun Lifu risked his life several times to save others. After being injured in the military, small shell pieces could not be removed from his body, which caused him considerable pain. After he began to practice Falun Gong, all of Mr. Sun's illnesses disappeared. Mr. Sun greatly appreciated everything that the founder of Falun Gong, Teacher Li Hongzhi, had done for him. He believed that by strictly following the Falun Gong principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion- Forbearance," he would show his appreciation to Mr. Li Hongzhi. Sun Lifu worked hard, cared about others, and gained the respect of the people around him.

However, because of his righteous belief, the wicked Chinese Communist Party (CCP) detained and tortured Mr. Sun. During his detention, his colleagues, former classmates, fellow soldiers, and especially those who were rescued by him have been trying to rescue him. But several CCP officers have instead persecuted him even more brutally.

Mr. Sun, who had saved the lives of more than ten people, was secretly sentenced to seven years in prison for his righteous belief in Falun Gong. He is now detained in the 4^th Detention Center of Jiamusi Prison, Heilongjiang Province.

2. For Refusing to Curse the Founder of Falun Gong, Mr. Sun Was Arrested, Tortured and Sent to Forced Labor Camp

In April 2001, police officers stopped Mr. Sun as he drove one of his colleagues to the home of relatives. Police officers forced everyone in the van to curse the founder of Falun Gong. Everyone, including Mr. Sun, refused. The police officers shouted, "If the CCP wants you curse, you should curse. You can appeal wherever you like." Since Mr. Sun refused to curse, the police officers arrested him and physically abused him. While torturing him in detention, the police officers tried to have Sun Lifu step on a picture of the founder of Falun Gong. Mr. Sun refused. So the police officers slammed him back and forth against a wall by holding his shoulders. They viciously kicked his bare feet and his upper body. They kept Mr. Sun from sleeping, forced him to bend his head down and stand against a wall for a long time. Such torture methods lasted three days and nights. Police Section Head Sun said, "We have a license to kill if we wish to do so." At a later date, police officers accused Sun Lifu of organizing Falun Gong practitioners to communicate with each other, and continued to detain him.

Zhang, the deputy head of the Boli County Police department, sarcastically told Sun Lifu, "You are just a driver. If you tell us what they were doing, we'll let you go." Sun Lifu said, "It's completely legal to visit relatives and yet you torture me viciously." Zhang said, "I am sure your van will be confiscated." To get the van back, Mr. Sun's family had to hand over more than 50,000 yuan to the police department.

Later, police officers in Boli County sent Sun Lifu to the Qitaihe Detention Center. At the detention center, police officers ordered criminal inmates to strip Mr. Sun and pour cold water on him during the chilly days of April. This resulted in Mr. Sun's hands and feet shaking with cold, and it affected his heart. Later, officers bound Mr. Sun and paraded him in public to humiliate him. Then they sentenced Sun Lifu to two years of forced labor. His family had to spend a lot of money to have him released for medical treatment.

3. Brutally Tortured for Three Days and Nights

On April 27, 2002, because he was caught delivering Falun Gong truth-clarification materials, Sun Lifu was arrested by plainclothes police officers and tortured brutally. Mr. Sun described the tortures he suffered.

"Between around 5 to 6 p.m., I was taken to the Nancha Police station. They covered my eyes with dark fabric. Two officers dragged me into a dark room on the 6^th floor. After the light was turned on, I saw that the windows were covered on one side with black paint and on the other side with red paint. Stainless steel rails encircled an area where a steel Tiger Bench was placed. They tortured me mainly with the Tiger Bench. They wanted to find out the source of the Falun Gong materials.

"They shackled me to the Tiger Bench. In front of the bench, there was a steel table. If you leaned over it, your neck would be right on the edge of the table, which would make it hard to breathe. A very strong light was in front of the bench. They adjusted the light and had it shine into my eyes, greatly irritating my eyes. They took turns keeping me awake, and did not allow me to eat or use the bathroom. One police officer said: 'We will let you sit here for seven days and nights. There will be maggots on your bottom and they will be everywhere inside your pants.' The steel bench cut into my flesh and damaged my urinary tract. I was tortured on the bench for three days and nights. The pain is indescribable. The police officers said, 'We are the police, specifically trained to torture people like you. It is the CCP who allows us to suppress you. We'll torture you until you go crazy and suffer a mental collapse, and then we'll send you to the Harbin Mental Hospital.'

"The officers who tortured me were in plainclothes and wore no identification. I can only describe their features. They had three groups. I called them A, B, and C.

"Group A monitored me and did not allow me to eat, sleep or use the bathroom. They forced me to stare into a strong beam of light.

"Group B: Officer Liu is the cruelest among them. He was the first to torture me on the tiger bench. He handcuffed my arms behind my back, and then attached my arms to the top of the chair. Then he stepped on the handcuff chain and put all his weight on me. After that he hit the handcuff chains with the handle of a mop, which resulted in cuts to my hands that were excruciatingly painful. Then he stood at the front top of the tiger bench, and pulled my handcuffed hands up with all the force he could muster. Therefore, my hands and arms became completely numb.

"Yet, they thought that this was not cruel enough. They pulled my handcuffed hands toward the front, attached a belt to the handcuff chain and tightened the belt to a rail in front of me. This pushed my neck down until it touched the front edge of the tiger bench. I fainted several times because of the excruciating pain. I came to after some time. I have not idea how long I was out. Then, I saw Liu pushing my arm joints back because they had been pulled too far. They also hit me with mop handles, and claimed that they would break my arms. They hit my head and face with belts and fists until my face was bloody and totally deformed. The officers then made fun of my looks. They stripped me, hit me with rubber clubs and kicked me with their leather shoes. My back is no longer straight. Injuries and scars are everywhere. My arms are disabled. I cannot move them or lift them.

"The Group C officers stepped on and twisted my toes until they turned black and were bleeding. They hit the inner side of my thighs and pinched the flesh on my thighs, which turned my flesh blue. One police officer would pull the handcuffs to the front, while another one pushed me downward by holding my clavicles. They repeated this torture many times. They inserted their hands into the flesh around my clavicles. The scars are still visible. Then the two officers would beat my back with leather belts and shoes. After a pause of several minutes, they would clutch where I was injured. They said, 'This way, his pain will be even more intolerable.'

"The tortures left injuries that will be very hard to heal. They include:

"Irregular heart beat. When my heartbeat becomes faster, the pain is unbearable.

Abnormal urine, gray-white in color. Extremely dry, painful and swollen throat. Difficulties breathing and pain in my back. My legs and joints became disjointed. I frequently twitch, which is also very painful. Headaches, so severe that occasionally I lose consciousness. My memory is no longer very good. My eyes are dry and hazy. My vision is getting worse. My hands are very dry and I have nerve-related pain. My ears ring. Problems ingesting anything."

4. Mr. Sun Is Suffering Torture, Brutal Forced-Feeding and Is Detained in a Mini-Cell at Jiamusi Prison

After brutally torturing Mr. Sun, the police officers conspired with other departments to have Sun Lifu secretly sentenced to seven years in Jiamusi Prison.

In 2003, the prison began intense brainwashing sessions. Sun Lifu did not cooperate and was tortured and locked in a mini-cell. He was not allowed regular sleep for over 40 days and he was forced to sit on a small stool for more than ten hours daily, from morning until 9:30 p.m. Mr. Sun was not allowed to move during that time. Police officer Liu Changyu hit Mr. Sun's head with a rectangular-shaped rechargeable lamp, and ordered criminal detainees to beat and shave Mr. Sun's head.

On December 18, 2003, Sun Lifu and another practitioner, Wang Jinin, refused to attend the morning exercises. Liu Changyu hit Mr. Sun's mouth with a steel lamp. After the beating, Liu asked publicly, "Who here has seen anyone being beaten?"

To protest the brutal persecution, Sun Lifu staged a hunger strike three times. Each time, he was brutally force-fed by the police.

In March 2004, to intensify the persecution of practitioners, Jiamusi Prison and Lianjiangkou Prison merged. The government invested a lot of money for a new prison building.

Currently, Sun Lifu and other determined practitioners are not allowed visits and are not allowed to leave the mini-cells. Every day, four criminal detainees are assigned to strictly monitor and constrain Mr. Sun's movements. Police officers frequently come to threaten him.

Since late April 2005, because Sun Lifu resisted the persecution, he is not allowed to leave the cell.

Other practitioners currently detained at the Lianiangkou-Jiamusi Prison include Zhang Yuansen, Feng Guoqing, Qin Yueming, Bao Yongsheng, and Zhang Zhimin.

At this time, Sun Lifu's former fellow soldiers, classmates, friends, colleagues, and the more than ten people whose lives he saved are trying to rescue him.

Certain officials from Fangzi District, Weifang City, Shandong Province have closely followed the orders of Jiang's regime. Since July 20, 1999, they have been persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in the entire district. The main evildoers are: Huang Weilian, who was the former Secretary General of Fangzi District Communist Party Committee (and is now the Deputy Mayor of Weifang City, and the Director General of the Weifang City Police Bureau), 610 Office Head Zhu Yanlin, Chen Guobin, who is the Secretary General of the Communist Party Committee of the Public Security Bureau, Dong Jianhua, the Deputy Director General of the Police Bureau (he and his wife both died during a car accident), Wang Quanfeng from the 610 Office of the Police Bureau (who has since been transferred to another workplace) and others. These individuals have actively incited every company and police station, as well as many community members, to illegally ransack Falun Gong practitioners' homes, and to arrest, blackmail, detain, put into detention and even sentence practitioners to forced labor camps and prisons. Once detained, the practitioners are brutally beaten, force-fed, hung up while handcuffed, tortured with electric batons, exposed to the baking sun without relief, subjected to freezing weather, deprived of sleep and subjected to other forms of torture.

The names of four Falun Gong practitioners persecuted to death have been reported. They are Wang Yixin from Guojia Village, Meng Qingxi from Mu Village, Wang Aijuan from Simian, and Wu Jingxia from Phoenix Street. When Wu Jingxia was persecuted to death, her child still needed breastfeeding.

Another three practitioners who have been illegally sentenced are Du Jiqun from the Educational Bureau, Guo Xiuhong from Gouxi Village, and Guo's husband Zhang Chuanzheng. These three are currently detained and being persecuted in Jinan Jail. In addition, more than 20 practitioners have been illegally sentenced to forced labor camps, more than 10 practitioners have been sent to brainwashing sessions and nearly 20 practitioners were forced to leave their homes and go from place to place. It is hard to calculate the total amount of fines that practitioners have had to pay; some are as little as a few hundred yuan, some are as much as 7 or 8 thousand yuan and some are more than 10,000 yuan. For practitioners who were detained, if they couldn't hand over the money, they would not be released. Chen Guobin claimed that he alone would decide who would be released. Some practitioners are still in heavy debt to this day. If they are arrested, charges are fabricated and then they are thrown into jail.

In October 2004, Jiang Henghua from Hongniwa Coal Plant in Fangzi District was arrested and sent home from Beijing, where he went to validate the Fa. His family was fined 30,000 yuan and Jiang was sent to a forced labor camp.

Last July, Feng Yanqin, over 60 years old and a retired teacher, was arrested by the police for clarifying the truth. The police lied to Feng's family, saying that she would be released soon, but instead Fang was secretly sentenced to forced labor and sent to the notorious Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.

Last April, Falun Gong practitioner Tang Xiumei from Guojia Village, homeless due to the persecution, was arrested. In May she was sentenced to a forced labor camp.

During the latest countrywide push to arrest Falun Gong practitioners, on May 11, police officers, including Chen Guobin, Li Chao and others from Fangzi District Police Bureau, incited policemen from Hengan Police Station to break into Falun Gong practitioner Sun Zhonghua's home, seize him and take him to Bamalu Detention Center. Later the police ransacked Sun's home. They took away a copy of Zhuan Falun, a computer, his tape recorder and his father's deposit book. Sun's mother almost committed suicide from the pressure, but luckily a family member found her in time. Later, Sun's family repeatedly went to the police bureau, demanding his unconditional release. The 610 Office representatives at the police bureau lied to his family, saying that he would be released soon, but he was not. Twenty-eight days after Sun was detained, under public pressure, they had to release him; however, they kept all of his personal belongings.

Ms. Li Huiping was a practitioner from Xianning City, Hubei Province. She was repeatedly persecuted by police because she persisted in practicing Falun Gong. She was arrested and detained many times.

Ms. Li lived at the residential area of the Wenquan Construction Company in Xianning City. On August 16, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and to tell people the facts. She was arrested and sent back and put in the Wenquan brainwashing class for over a month. She was also fined 750 yuan.

On October 24, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal again and tried to tell the government how she had benefited both physically and mentally from practicing Falun Gong. She was arrested and brought back by personnel from the Wenquan Police Department and put in the detention center for two weeks. She was later transferred to Puqi Jail. On the second day in Puqi Jail, because she insisted in doing the exercises, she was handcuffed and shackled with three other people, making it very difficult for her to eat, walk, go to the toilet, or sleep. The shackles used on her were actually designed especially for death row inmates. The police would not remove them for her to change clothes, even during her menstrual periods. The police ordered practitioners to recite jail rules. If they refused, they had to run in the corridor. One night a policeman named Gao came down from upstairs, lifted the urine basin, and threw it at the female practitioners as hard as he could. Then he dragged them from their beds to the hallway and ordered them to stand against the wall with their hands and feet spread as far apart as possible for five straight hours. When they were finally released, they were numb all over their bodies. A policeman sat on a female practitioner and sexually assaulted her, poured hot water on her, and spat on her.

On July 12, 2000, policeman Chen Dijian from Chaluko Police Station persuaded Ms. Li Huiping to come to the police station under false pretences. He then jailed her for over a month and sent her to forced labor for a year.

On September 28, 2001, a dozen policemen from the Chalukou Police Station went to Ms. Li's home. They kicked open her door and pulled her from her bed to take her to the police station. They were in such a rush that she was not even allowed to put on her shoes. They sent her to Shuanghe Detention Center that night, and then to Maoershan Jail in Xianning. Maoershan Jail refused to take her, so they took her to Puqi Jail, which also refused to take her. The Wenquan Police Department then pressured Puqi Jail officials until they agreed to take her. While in detention, she went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal persecution and was then force-fed. With male inmates holding down her hands, feet, and head, they forced the tube into her stomach through her mouth and nose. As skinny as she was, she could not put up any resistance. This lasted for three days. After every force-feeding she would throw up blood. The pain involved was excruciating. The police discontinued the force-feeding and switched to an IV instead. They dragged her across the floor to the women's department every day. In the process, they shred several pairs of her pants and bloodied her legs. On the second day of her IV, she pulled the needle out. The officer guarding her yelled at her and told a male inmate to beat her. When the inmate did not follow the orders, the policeman slapped her twice himself. In the following ten days or so, they gave her an IV everyday with her hands and feet cuffed to the bed. Finally they notified the Wenquan Police Department when they determined that she was dying. She was released after over 20 days of hunger striking, but she was in such bad shape that she was unrecognizable.

Not long after her release, Chaluko Police Station sent people to her home to arrest her again. She was forced to leave and stay away from her home to avoid further persecution. The police arrested her father and jailed him for a week instead.

Ms. Mi Xiaozheng was arrested in April 2005. She was illegally detained in the second detention center in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province for about one month, and then transferred to the provincial brainwashing center for more persecution.

When Mi Xiaozheng started a hunger strike against her imprisonment, the guards in the brainwashing center force-fed her several times without a physician's supervision, ignoring the risk of severe injury.

Mi Xiaozheng' parents, misguided by the Communist Party's propaganda, did not stand up for their own daughter; instead, they blamed everything on their daughter's refusal to be "transformed." Her mother begged the so-called "teaching assistants" to transform her daughter by all means. She even prepared some home-cooked food and brought it to the brainwashing center to please those "teaching assistants," ignoring the fact that her daughter's life was in danger from the hunger strike. Mi Xiaozheng's father also beat his daughter brutally. The parents are not rich at all but they offered that as long as their daughter refuses to be transformed, they will keep sending money to the brainwashing center.

With the support of her parents, the brainwashing center persecuted Mi Xiaozheng even more severely. The "teaching assistants" once pretended to let Mi Xiaozheng do the exercises. As soon as Mi Xiaozheng crossed her legs in the lotus position, the teaching assistants pressed down hard on her legs with two stools and did not allow her to put her legs down for a long period of time. (Falun Gong practitioner Liu Lijiang was once tortured by this method). The male "teaching assistants" took advantage of Mi being confined in such a position to fondle her body.

The brainwashing center has used all sorts of tricks and methods to try to transform Mi Xiaozheng, but she has maintained her steadfast belief in Falun Gong. Nothing could ever shake her will.

Even now, after their daughter has suffered two months of abuse, Mi Xiaozheng's parents still send money to the brainwashing center to help persecute their own daughter.

To the parents of Mi Xiaozheng: How miserable it is to help these torturers persecute your own daughter! Your daughter did not do anything wrong. She is being persecuted for being benevolent. She cannot go to school or come back home. You, her parents, are yourselves brainwashed so deeply that you help those evil people to persecute your own daughter.

It is reported that eight Falun Gong practitioners are currently illegally imprisoned in the Hebei Provincial Brainwashing Center in Shijiazhuang City. Their names are: Ms. Mi Xiaozheng, Ms. Chen Zenghui, Ms. Hao Qiuyan, Mr. Shen Manliang, Mr. Liu Lijiang, Ms. Du Xiuzhen, Ms. Yao Baoli and Ms. Liang Chunhua.

Hao Qiuyan looks soft and meek but upholds her belief in Falun Gong very steadfastly. Chen Zenghui is also very strong and wise. The guards in the brainwashing center are quite frustrated by their failed attempts to brainwash these practitioners.

The "teaching assistants" in the brainwashing center in charge of persecuting the practitioners are: Liang Ziling, Shan, Wang Xincai and Yuan Shuqian. Yuan Shuqian suffered arm injuries caused by karmic retribution, but still persists in his criminal actions.

 Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Zhagen from Kaifeng City, Henan Province was persecuted to death at the Kaifeng Forced Labor Camp. The perpetrators, trying very hard to cover up their crimes, hid the body and refused to allow his family members to examine it.

The local authorities pressured Mr. Zhang's family members to cremate his body as soon as possible. Over 100 policemen escorted Zhang Zhageng's body to the crematorium on June 28. Uniformed policemen and plainclothes policemen monitored the funeral tent every day and searched the relatives and friends who came to mourn for him. They even said that they would turn over the funeral tent if there was any mention of Falun Gong at the funeral proceedings.

Furthermore, in order to prevent Falun Gong practitioners from clarifying the truth to the public, the 610 Office, the Public Security Bureau, the National Security Bureau, government offices, and the neighborhood committee all came out to harass Falun Gong practitioners. On July 2, the 610 Office in the suburbs and the Police Department forcibly arrested Falun Gong practitioners Yuan Xiuying, Xin Chunting, Pan Jiaquan, and several others from their homes. They forced their way into the practitioners' homes by breaking down the doors.

Practitioner Ms. Jiang Jiyu from Xinmin Town in Pi County went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in 2000. As a result, personnel from local 610 Office detained her in a so-called Legal Reformation Class. She was not released until she paid a 2,000-yuan fine. In 2001 Ms. Jiang went to Beijing again to appeal and was put into the Pi County Detention Center. Local government officials then attempted to extort 20,000 yuan from her family but they refused to cooperate. Personnel from the local government then broke into her home and confiscated possessions worth a few thousand yuan. When Ms. Jiang and other practitioners recited Teacher Li's teachings in the detention center, police department chief Zhang found out about it. Without saying a word, Zhang dragged Ms. Jiang Jiyu and the other practitioners outside and beat them mercilessly. He also kicked them, stomped on them and shocked them with electric batons until Ms. Jiang fainted. A female police officer claimed that Jiang Jiyu was pretending.

Because Jiang Jiyu refused to give in, in December 2001, she was sentenced to two years of forced labor at the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zizhong City. Police from the camp's No. 5 Team ordered inmates to force-feed Ms. Jiang. They pried her mouth open so hard that her teeth became misaligned. They kicked her legs so hard that she hasn't been able to walk normally since. Policewoman Zhang Xiaofang from the No. 7 Team forced her several times to stand for an extended period of time. She deprived Ms. Jiang of sleep and even tied her to a big tree for a long time. Many practitioners have been tied to this tree, and the trunk and leaves of this tree have withered. After the brutal torture, Ms. Jiang had heart disease, and her mind became foggy. On January 1, 2003, seeing that she was at the brink of death, the police ordered her family members to take her out for hospitalization. Once she had returned home, though, police constantly harassed her over the phone. Personnel from the local government also harassed her constantly in person. To escape the constant physical and mental persecution, Ms. Jiang Jiyu was forced to leave home and live in exile in June 2003. We don't know her whereabouts or whether or not she is still alive.

2. [Guang'an City, Sichuan Province] Police Take Mr. Qu Zhenqing Away

Practitioner Mr. Qu Zhenqing from No. 4 Village, Fulong Township, Yuechi County, was arrested and put into brainwashing classes many times. At around 9:00 a.m. on June 16, 2005, Chen Tianshu and three other officers from the Township Police Station knocked him to the ground and took him away. According to onlookers, police broke the practitioner's arms and handcuffed him. Mr. Qu Zhenqing's whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

On July 4, 2005, Yang Xiaohai, Xin Chunting, Yuan Xiuying and another practitioner from Kaifeng City were arrested. Ms. Yuan Xiuying was arrested at home while she was doing the sitting meditation.

4. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Tang Haiyan and Lai Cuilan Put into the Maoming City Brainwashing Class

On the evening of June 30, 2005, practitioners Tang Haiyan and Lai Cuilan were arrested while clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to people. They are now held at the Maoming City Brainwashing Class.

5. [Guangdong Province] Ms. Si Bing Arrested and Thrown into the Sanshui Brainwashing Class

Between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on July 2, 2005, five people with no identification arrested 48-year-old practitioner Ms. Si Bing, a former doctor of the Yanling Hospital of the Guangdong Agricultural System. The arrest took place at the entrance to the dormitory building of the Overseas Chinese Office of the School of Chinese Literature, Jinan University, where her daughter lives. They sent her to the Sanshui Brainwashing Class.

Since the persecution of Falun Gong at the hands of the Chinese ruling Party began on July 20, 1999, the police have arrested Ms. Si Bing seven times for telling the truth. She was detained three times, each incident lasting over 15 days. She also endured three years of unlawful forced labor. On February 22, 2004, personnel from the Tianhe District Wushan Police Station in Guangzhou City arrested her from her workplace, the Chinese-English Bilingual Kindergarten, and sent her to the Chatou City Brainwashing class for half a year of torture. Finally she managed to walk away.

6. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] 610 Office Personnel Persecute Practitioner Ms. Wang Yumei

Beginning in 1999, Gongzhuling City's 610 Office personnel have sent practitioner Ms. Wang Yumei from Gongzhuling City to a forced labor camp four times and have tortured her until she was in critical condition three times. In the fall of 2004, the National Security Team arrested her again without evidence and didn't release her until she was almost dead.

On July 1, 2005, officials from the Lingxi Police Station in Gongzhuling City held a meeting and ordered a community committee to kick Ms. Wang out because the 610 Office members knew she was living there. This citizen's rights have been severely violated.

7. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Wang Guoying, Lin Bai and Ms. Jia Naizhi Sentenced to Nine Years, Eight Years and Ten Years of Imprisonment, Respectively

Practitioners Wang Guoying and Lin Bai from Fushun City were recently sentenced in the Xinfu District Court to nine years and eight years of imprisonment, respectively, for printing Zhuan Falun and other Falun Gong books and "truth-clarifying" materials.

Practitioner Ms. Jia Naizhi from Fushun City was sentenced to ten years of imprisonment. After three years of detention she was sent to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison, but was refused admission due to her extremely poor health. Now she is being held at the Fushun City Detention Center. Police refused to let her be bailed out for hospitalization. Ms. Jia went on a hunger strike to protest, and she is skin and bones.

8. [Beijing] Police Arrest Ms. Liu Huairu and Sentence Her to Forced Labor for Clarifying the Truth about Falun Gong

Practitioner Ms. Liu Huairu from Beijing, in her 40s, lives at the Yongle Community in the Shijingshan District. During the Two Conferences (the People's Congress and the People's Political and Consultation Conference) in March 2005, she was arrested and sentenced to forced labor for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. Due to her severely swollen legs and feet, the forced labor camp authorities would not accept her, so the police put her into the Tiantanghe Hospital. When her family went to request her release, the police authorities not only did not release her but also demanded her family pay the huge medical expenses. The outrageous extortion made the family very angry. Ms. Liu was very healthy before the arrest, but now she has been persecuted to this extent. The police still refuse to release her.

9. [Lingshui County, Sichuan Province] 610 Office Personnel Arrest Practitioner Ms. Ni Yue'e

On June 22, 2005, Lingshui County 610 Office personnel in Sichuan Province arrested practitioner Ms. Ni Yue'e and put her into the Guang'an Brainwashing Class at the Huaying Old Armed Forces Department. Ms. Ni Yue'e is an official at the Employment Administration Bureau. She had just returned to work from out of town. Zhou Fugang, the head of the 610 Office; Liu Fengfu, the Political and Judicatory Committee head for the County; and others took part in the arrest. The brainwashing class officials tried to force practitioners to give up their practice. They tortured practitioners and threatened those practitioners who refused to give in that they would be sentenced to a forced labor camp, dismissed from their employment, or detained with extended prison terms.

10. [Sanmenxia City, Henan Province] Mr. Zheng Shuangtai Arrested and His Home Ransacked

On June 6, 2005, personnel from the Luoyang City Railway Police Station arrested practitioner Mr. Zheng Shuangtai from Sanmenxia City and ransacked his home. Mr. Zheng is being held at the Railway Police Station.

11. [Jiuquan City, Gansu Province] Several Practitioners Arrested for Clarifying the Truth

On April 4, 2005, practitioner Ms. Fan Xiuling, 58 years old, was arrested when clarifying the truth and distributing truth-clarifying materials in Jiuquan City. Currently she is being held at the Lanzhou City Forced Labor Camp.

On June 26 2005, practitioners Ms. Liu Ruixian, 59 years old, and Ms. Jia Yanxia, 61 years old, were arrested when they were clarifying the truth at the Fuhua Super Market. They are being held at Jiuquan City Detention Center.

12. [Rong County, Sichuan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

During the afternoon of April 11, 2005, three police cars congregated around practitioners Zhu Ronggui and Zhou Ziping's homes in Nanmenba, Rong County. Police ransacked their homes and arrested them. All of their truth-clarifying materials and machines were confiscated.

Practitioners Xu Guihua and Luo Yuecheng were arrested in May.

On May 9, policemen arrived in two police cars and arrested practitioner Xia Shiquan, who was harvesting wheat. We have heard that Xia has been put into the Fushun County Detention Center in Zigong City.

Currently, nine practitioners have been arrested. In addition, it is reported that on June 15, a practitioner from Gongjiaba Village received a letter from the Rong County Police Department, which was actually an arrest certificate for Xia Shiquan and the practitioner. Though it seemed to be issued by the county court, the document did not have seals for the court or the head judge. The practitioner went into exile to avoid further persecution, and police are looking for the practitioner.

13. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Chao Qiguo Arrested

Practitioner Mr. Chao Qiguo started to practice Falun Gong in 1998. In 2001, personnel from the Langfang City 610 Office sentenced him to three years of forced labor because he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. In the forced labor camp in Baoding City, policeman Li Dayong tied him to the "Dead Person's Bed" for four days and tortured him with many other inhumane methods. In 2002 he walked away with dignity. On June 29, 2005, the 610 Office ordered the police to arrest him again from home and sent him to a brainwashing class on the fourth floor of the Jiaotong Hotel.

14. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Ms. Feng Yanping Arrested at Her Workplace and Sent to the Chenjiaji Brainwashing Class

On July 1, 2005, officials from the Jiangan District 610 Office and the Daishan Community arrested practitioner Ms. Feng Yanping from Wuhan City. It happened at her workplace in Chenjiaji in the Jiang'an District of Wuhan City. They sent her to the Chenjiaji Brainwashing Class.

15. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Zhiling and Mr. Zhang Xingdong Arrested

Practitioner Ms. Li Zhiling, 43 years old, is a resident of Yantai City and a businesswoman. She runs the Wudi Watch Repair Shop. At about 6:00 p.m. on May 21, 2005, seven or eight officers from the Wudi Police Station broke into the watch repair shop, ransacked the shop and arrested Ms. Li, although they didn't find anything related to Falun Gong in the shop. Ms. Li is now being held in the Wudi Police Station.

Practitioner Mr. Zhang Xingdong, over 40 years old, works in Binzhou City. Mr. Zhang was once sentenced to three years of forced labor. Police arrested Mr. Zhang in the middle of May 2005 as he was distributing truth-clarifying materials.

16. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Persecution of Practitioner Ms. Yao Mei in the Dabei Prison

On January 10, 2005, practitioner Ms. Yao Mei from Liaoyang County, Liaoning Province, was sentenced to ten years of forced labor and was held in the Shenyang City Dabei Prison. At about 1:00 p.m. on January 10, 2005, the police divided practitioners who had just arrived the prison into different teamss. Mr. Wang Jinping was assigned to Group 8; Ms. Zhang Xiulian to Squadron 1, Group 1; Ms. Yao Mei to Squadron 4, Group 4. As soon as practitioners arrived at the Dabei Prison, the police immediately started to torture them. Day or night, the criminals prohibited practitioners from sleeping. Ms. Yao Mei was deprived of sleep for four continuous days. On the fifth day Ms. Yao had a nosebleed. Because she refused to give up Falun Gong practice, she was transferred to Squadron 4, Group 3. In that team, if practitioners even looked at one another they would be abused. They were prohibited from talking and their every movement was monitored.

17. [Acheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Yanfang Fainted After Staging a Hunger Strike

Practitioner Ms. Sun Yanfang from Acheng City was transferred from a detention center to a prison. To resist the persecution she staged a hunger strike. During the evening of July 3, 2005, she became unconscious and was sent to the Acheng City People's Hospital for emergency treatment. Her family was forced to pay all the medical fees.

18. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Xie Zhonggui Arrested and Sent to the Lannigou 610 Brainwashing Class

Personnel from Guiyang City's Beijing Road Office and from the Beijing Road Police Station at the Guiyang City Police Department arrested practitioner Mr. Xie Zhonggui and sent him into the Lannigou 610 Brainwashing Class. This is officially known as the "Guizhou Province Legal Education Class."

19. [Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhang Mandi and Ms. Chen Qinglan Arrested

Ms. Zhang Mandi is now 36 years old. Personnel from the 610 Office arrested and put her into the Qingxin Detention Center.

On November 28, 2004, police arrested 60-year-old practitioner Ms. Chen Qinglan when she was distributing truth-clarifying materials in Jiangkou Town. She was later sentenced to one year of forced labor, but the forced labor camp refused to accept her. Ms. Chen is now being held in the Qingxin Detention Center.

1. Ms. Xu Hongmei and Ms. Li Aiying Still Detained in Qiqihar City Labor Camp

From February 16 to March of 2004, prison guards tortured Falun Gong practitioners who were firm in their belief day and night, causing Ms. Xu Hongmei, Ms. Zhang Liqun, and Ms. Gao Shuying to sustain severe injuries. In order to cover up these crimes, the terms of these practitioners were extended. Ms. Xu Hongmei and Ms. Li Aiying both were sentenced to three years of forced labor in April-May 2002. Their families went to the camp many times to pick them up, but were refused. On May 16, 2005, Ms. Li Aiying's mother (in her 70s) went to request the release of her daughter. The camp detained her until 6:00 p.m. The camp, which is designed to enforce the law, violated the law itself.

2. Persecution at the Shandong Province First Women's Labor Camp

Former First Ward Director Wang Shuzhen (female) is very cruel towards Falun Gong practitioners. When some of the elderly Falun Gong practitioners refused to accept brainwashing, she would force them to do cleaning, carry water, and perform heavy labor. One practitioner suffered from the symptoms of a stroke, but Wang Shuzhen would not allow her to have bed rest. Wang often tortured Falun Gong practitioners by locking them in solitary confinement, hanging them up with handcuffs (1), tying them up and beating them, etc. Another guard, Liu Jianhui (female), often insults, curses, and tortures Falun Gong practitioners at will and also extends practitioners' terms. Guards Sun Juan (female), Sun Liqun (female), and Liu Ruiqin (female) often ransack practitioners' personal belongings and go through their mail, and they do not allow practitioners to share daily necessities with those in need.
