  • Malaysia: Practitioners Protest the Murder of Gao Rongrong

On June 30, 2005, Malaysian practitioners rallied in front of Chinese embassy to protest the murder of Gao Rongrong and call for punishment of the murderers. Several media outlets including Reuters, AP and several Chinese language newspapers in Malaysia interviewed the event.

Ms. Gao's face was disfigured due to some 7 hours of electric shock in May 2004. As soon as her photos were published on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website, the world was shocked by the brutality of the CCP. Despite the mounting international pressure thereafter, the CCP still continued to persecute Gao and eventually tortured her to death.

Practitioners hoisted a huge banner which read "Gao Rong Persecuted to death and Bring the Murderers to Justice." They also displayed photos of Ms. Gao and other practitioners who have been persecuted to death with an eye-catching note: To date, 2629 Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted to death." Passing by vehicles slowed down to read the banner and posters. All the reporters and police officers were shocked by the photo of Ms. Gao's disfigured face, some police officers asked: "How many have been persecuted to death? More than 2000?"

Practitioners also distributed truth-clarifying materials of Ms. Gao's death and recounted brutal means used by CCP to torture and kill practitioners.

Germany: Practitioners Protest the Murder of Gao Rongrong at the Chinese Consulate in Munich

On June 21st 2005, Falun Gong practitioners from the city of Munich and its outskirts gathered at the Chinese Consulate to strongly condemn the Chinese authorities for killing Gao Rongrong. Practitioners showed a banner reading, "Killing of Gao Rongrong Reveals CCP's Bloodthirsty Nature", and called on the consulate officials to quit the CCP and stand on the side of justice.

The news that Shenyang Falun Gong practitioner Gao Rongrong was persecuted to death on June 16th shocked the entire world. Many people already knew about her case. Clearwisdom.net reported that she was seriously disfigured on May 7th 2004 after being electrically shocked for seven hours by police at Dragon Hill Re-education Centre in Shenyang city. Photos of her mutilated face caused shocks throughout global society. Thereafter, Gao's photo appeared in all kinds of Falun Gong activities to expose the CCP's human rights crimes, and it also became the leading case of the United Nations Human Rights Report on the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong. This irritated the CCP, who arrested and detained Gao again on March 6th 2005. She died of exhaustion. All information about Gao is being strictly withheld. The local authorities forbade her mother from seeing her body, and they cremated the body as soon as possible.

The CCP has been persecuting Falun Gong for six years and over 2,600 practitioners have been tortured to death. Millions of practitioners' basic human rights have been denied, countless families have been destroyed and many Falun Gong practitioners' children have lost their parents and homes. But although Falun Gong practitioners are resisting untiringly and the global public voices are adding pressure, the CCP has only changed the persecution from a public one to a covert one and Falun Gong practitioners' situation in China has not changed at all.

A policeman in Munich read the report of Gao Rongrong being disfigured. He was astonished when practitioners told him that Gao was later killed. A passer-by left his contact number, hoping practitioners can participate in a forum on Chinese issues they will be holding. Some people said they felt delighted upon learning that over two million people have quit the CCP as this showed hope for China.

Australia: Practitioners in Brisbane Call on Foreign Minister to Not Restrict Freedom of Expression

On June 24, upon learning that Alexander Downer, the Australian Foreign Affairs minister, had signed another two documents restraining practitioners from using any amplifiers or banners or displaying any other information in front of the Chinese Embassy in Canberra, Falun Dafa practitioners held an appeal outside the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Brisbane. Practitioners set up an anti-torture exhibit and displayed banners and posters to tell the public about Mr. Downer's actions.

Though practitioners had little time to prepare for this event, everything moved along very smoothly. Within one hour, we received a permit from the police. To let people coming out over their lunch break see the exhibit, the event was held between 11am and 2pm. Although it was Friday, many practitioners participated in this activity. While some stayed at the site for the whole 3 hours, others came to help during their lunch break.

The empty lot in front of the department is very spacious, and we set up our exhibition, posters and banners without disturbing pedestrians. As a train station is located across the street, there were many pedestrians during the exhibit hours.

The banner reads: Mr. Downer: Don't help the Chinese Communist Party persecute Falun Gong in Australia

Don't Trade at the expense of human rights
Don't restrict Falun Gong practitioners' freedom of expression in Australia

The response from the public was very positive. Many people couldn't believe that such a peaceful group could be persecuted so brutally in this modern age. They can't understand why the Australian government has bowed to the CCP regime which has a notorious human rights record and has murdered 80 million Chinese citizens. As soon as people learned about the truth of Falun Gong and the persecution, they came to understand what is wrong and who is evil right away.

The public was also shocked by the death of Gao Rongrong and the appalling torture that was inflicted upon her. Many passersby signed our petition, requested truth-clarifying materials, and expressed their best wishes to practitioners.

Practitioners also delivered a set of materials to the Ministry of Foreign Affair and Trade to explain why we were holding such an event outside their building.

    Many passersby signed practitioners' petition

As the courageous defectors have recently made headlines in the newspapers and TV programs, more people have learned about Falun Gong. Many have expressed their dissatisfaction with the Australian government's actions in dealing with these defectors. Regarding China's spying on and harassment of Australian practitioners, they were not happy with government's attitude toward the CCP, either. They were even more upset by the Foreign Minister's unreasonable restriction on practitioners' freedom of expression.

Apparently, the overall situation is changing quickly, as the people are awakening to the truth of the persecution and starting to clearly denounce it.

Australia: Gold Coast Holds "Uncompromising Courage" Art Exhibition

At 11:00 a.m., June 26, the "Uncompromising Courage" International Art Exhibition was opened to pubic for the first time at the Royal Queensland Arts Society on the Gold Coast, Queensland. The exhibition site was provided by the arts society.

    Opening ceremony

At the opening ceremony, a Falun Gong representative explained what Falun Gong is and what the exhibition is about in relationship to the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Mr. Colin Perini, an internationally acclaimed local seascape artist, commended practitioners' uncompromising spirit demonstrated during the persecution. He said that it was very hard for people to stay steadfast in one belief, and that practitioners' persistence is changing the world.

Before the ribbon was cut, local practitioners performed waist drum and dancing programs and demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises.

A senior Gold Coast reporter was moved by the paintings. She said that it was unacceptable that the persecution documented by the paintings was still ongoing. "The message of the artists needs attention from the whole world," she said, "I hope the persecution will end soon."

    Visitors viewing the paintings

The Royal Queensland Arts Society Art Gallery is very close to the ocean in Broadbeach. Upon learning about the truth of Falun Gong and the ongoing persecution in China, the staff of the gallery was very supportive and offered great help to the exhibition.

The society president told the reporter that of the many exhibitions she has hosted, this was the most powerful one.

Upon seeing the exhibit, people can't help asking, "Why don't people have rights to seek a free spiritual life and to practice their own beliefs under the reign of the communist party?" The exhibit indeed helped many to understand the truth.

The 43 paintings will be displayed at Gold Coast for a week and then start a tour to other Australian cities.

Sweden: Anti-Torture Exhibition in Stockholm Calls for End of Persecution

On the 10th of June, Falun Gong practitioners from Europe, the United States, Australia and Taiwan held an anti-torture exhibition in Stockholm to expose the brutal methods of persecution used against practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). With the exhibition, practitioners hoped to expose the 6-year persecution by Jiang regime and the CCP against practitioners who merely want to live their lives by the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance." Once again, practitioners called upon all kind-hearted people to take actions to stop this persecution.

Demonstrating methods of torture used on Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party

At the anti-torture exhibition site, three iron cages showed typical scenes from Chinese forced labor camps: the first cage with practitioners being brainwashed, the second with practitioners being forced to do slave labor and the third with practitioners being cruelly tortured. In the third cage, the reenacted torture methods including hanging up, locking up and Tiger Bench were demonstrated.

On the opposite side to the torture demonstration was the peaceful scene of Falun Gong exercises being practiced accompanied by beautiful music, which was a sharp contrast with the torture demonstration. In front of the demonstrations were boards carrying a brief introduction to Falun Gong and the anti-torture exhibition. While viewing the exhibition boards, many people were comparing what they read to the exercise demonstration. People living in democratic countries find it difficult to believe the fact that the brutal persecution of these peaceful, kind people is happening right now in China.

Falun Gong is based on the principle of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance - Falun Gong exercises are peaceful, simple and slow

People were reading the boards and getting to know about the persecution

By signing the petition, they showed their support for ending the persecution of Falun Gong

People were shocked at the cruel means of the persecution

Using a microphone, a practitioner explained the methods of persecution used by the Chinese Communist Party in attempts to force practitioners to renounce their beliefs. Falun Gong practitioners are trying to be good people according to the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance." Their minds and bodies have benefited from practicing Falun Gong. They aim to follow Falun Gong's principles of being a good person in all aspects of life, which is good for any society. Why is such an inhuman persecution of good people still happening in the 21st Century?

Practitioners distributed leaflets to passers-by and answered questions people raised. When seeing children and the elderly, they kindly gave them a paper lotus flower carefully hand-made by practitioners, expressing best wishes.
