Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Junhua was detained in the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province. On the morning of May 1, 2005 she was forced to go out to work, and later disappeared. To date, no one has taken responsibility for her disappearance. Guards Chang Jinliang and Fang Bao, who were responsible for directly monitoring her, were not held responsible.

In connection with this, an insider has revealed details of murders being committed at the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp:

The insider said, "Actually, many people die at the Gaoyang Forced Labor camp every year. Death is very common, not to mention cases of disappearance. Those divisions... which one has not killed someone? If they beat someone to death, they just find a doctor to issue a false death certificate and testimony for the cause of death, or they simply just bury the person to hide the evidence. When the family members of the deceased arrive, the person cannot be found. At most the authorities give the family some hush money. Creating false appearances is what they are good at and accustom to."

"For those that were killed, some of the family members do not let the authorities off so easily. The authorities, however, are more unscrupulous now. Before the Chinese New Year, the family member of a prisoner from Shandong Province came to look for him again. The prison told him that they had released him. Actually, this man had already been killed."

"There are also many who were injured and disabled. Besides Falun Gong, even the common prisoners are frequently beaten. Everyone says, "Gaoyang in Hebei Province is a living hell." "The prisoners wake up earlier than the rooster, are made to work harder than cattle, the meals they eat are worse than animal feed and they go to sleep later than the dogs." Now they have to work twelve hours per day. In the past they worked even longer hours. They had to make money for the prison factory, making at least 500 yuan per month for the prison. After working they still had to serve the team leader. If they were not careful they would be beaten. If they did not pay tribute to the team leader, they had better be careful."

"Whether it was Falun Gong practitioners or common prisoners, whatever happens to them, the higher-ranking officials are all aware. At the start of the Falun Gong persecution, Yang Zemin and his gang were exposed on the Internet. They were so frightened that they hid people like Wang Guoyou and Wang Zhidai in the lower teams. After three months when they saw that nothing happened, the two thugs were back again enforcing the persecution. This happened around August 2001. From then on, they were even more unscrupulous. Not a single Falun Gong practitioner escaped torture. The two guards and their boss Yang Zemin are ruffians. Would their superiors investigate? If these thugs were fired, who would help their superiors persecute Falun Gong practitioners? You must realize that the Gaoyang Judicial Court turns a deaf ear to everything happening here. You can sue them and expose them, but the superiors will only inform and remind the lawless persons to be a good example for the rest. Hasn't the Communist Party been doing this for years? For the Communist Party's bad deeds, it has always been the top manipulating the bottom, and afterwards they just push the blame on those at the bottom."

During the morning of May 1, 2005, practitioner Ms. Wang Junhua, who was illegally held at the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp, was forced to feed ostriches at a courtyard segregated by electrified wires. She did not return to her dormitory at noon as usual, and her current whereabouts are unknown. An informant claims that political head, Li Xuejun, said she was hospitalized due to sudden illness. According to an investigation however, the labor-camp-designated hospital had not admitted any patients from the labor camp. At noon, political head Li Xuejun went to the dormitory many times but it's uncertain what she did there.

Persecutors Chang Jinliang and Fang Bao from the labor camp have beat female inmates to death and raped some female inmates, which resulted in their becoming pregnant. These perpetrators conspired with the hospital, and the doctor fabricated medical documents.

Male inmates were beaten to death then secretly buried. The labor camp authorities then publicly declared that the victims had escaped. Due to the vicious nature of the incidents taking place at this labor camp, we call for urgent attention from related government departments in pressing the officials at the Gaoyang Labor Camp and at the Hebei Labor Reeducation Bureau to investigate Wang Junhua's disappearance, and to prosecute all who are responsible.

Due to condoning and even encouragement from the Hebei Labor Reeducation Bureau, Yang Zemin and Li Xuejun, the division heads in charge of persecuting Falun Gong, along with guards Fang Bao and Chang Jinliang, ruthlessly tortured the practitioners. Yang Zemin forced many female inmates to have sex with him. He also seduced or coerced female guards to have sex with him. Many young female guards were traumatized after being forced into sex, but most of them remained silent and dared not speak out.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Junhua, 43, lived in Chaigoubao Town, Huaian County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. In October 2004 she was abducted while clarifying the truth to a young man. After one month of illegal detention she was sent to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp.

On April 26, 2005, government officials came to inspect the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp. The labor camp authorities sent sick inmates, Falun Gong practitioners, and others who they thought might cause "trouble" for them, to the backyard. They took the rest of the detainees to a room on the second floor and gave them a "talk." Yang Zemin threatened, "If you say anything you are not supposed to during the inspection, you can expect something very unpleasant afterwards." Yang Zemin then called eight of his cronies and told them to lie to the inspectors according to a pre-written script he provided. He told them that if they did "well" they would be released early.

The Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp has always claimed to be concerned with the health of Falun Gong practitioners, yet the truth is:

(1) The labor camp often accepts people with high blood pressure, heart disease and mental illness, who according to law, should be rejected.

Detainee Wang Lei often goes into episodes of mental collapse. The division guards "cared" for her by gagging her with socks and handcuffing her wrists. Falun Gong practitioners who spoke out against the abuse were shocked with electric batons.

(2) The persecutors torture nearly every detainee.

In March 2005, practitioner Wang Sufang was beaten so brutally that she was rushed to the hospital emergency room several times, and was eventually released on medical parole. The guards use an old crank telephone device (turning the crank generates electricity) and electric batons to shock the practitioners.

(3) The guards often insult and threaten the practitioners. In March 2005 the division held a meeting. Practitioners who were seriously ill were carried to the meeting. During the meeting Chang Jinliang pointed at the practitioners with his electric baton, and Yang Zemin cursed and cursed, complaining that his scandals were exposed on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website.

(4) They force practitioners, including those who are sick, to work in a shop, and later in their quarters. Practitioner Zhao Shuying was extremely weak. When she passed out the division heads poked fun at her.

(5) Other than emergencies and work times, the practitioners were forced to stay in the room and sit on stools, and were cursed at when they made a small movement. They were forced to count off and greet the division each morning.

(6) The authorities also embezzle the practitioners' food money. Each practitioner has 200 yuan food money per month, yet they are given vegetable soup with very few vegetables in it. Because of the aforementioned reasons, many practitioners are weak. During a provincial inspection on April 26 they were carried out to a vegetable field to avoid being seen by the provincial officials.

A while ago, the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by Yang Zemin and other personnel at the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp were exposed on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website several times. The authorities were afraid. They ordered the windows and doors shut. They cursed at the practitioners, held meetings, and threatened their subordinates, who threatened the practitioners, trying to find out how the news got out. The food improved for a few days before returning to its previously poor condition.

On April 26, another provincial inspection team arrived, and Yang Zemin again ordered the practitioners in the male division to be taken out and hidden in the vegetable field. Five sick female inmates, one of whom suffered a mental collapse after being tortured, were also dragged to the vegetable field. Practitioner Li Cuiping tried to stop them. Yang Zemin ordered her to be handcuffed, thrown on a cart, and pushed into a room used to torture Falun Gong practitioners. She was tortured for the better part of the day. Yang Zemin said to his subordinates, "Give her a good electric shock." The name above this room's doorframe reads "Heavenly Abode." Inside they shocked the practitioners with a crank telephone device, and savagely beat them. The roughnecks are Chang Jinliang and Fang Bao.

For doing the exercises, practitioner Mr. Li Zhenhai from Yi County, Hebei Province suffered a mental collapse after being beaten and shocked with the crank telephone device in November 2004. He still has not fully recovered and often has nightmares. In October 2003, Li Zhenhai was deceived into coming to a police station while at work, and was illegally detained at the department for one month, after which he was sent to the No. 4 Division of the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp. Li Zhenhai was forced to work twelve hours per day on a daily basis. Because he did the Falun Gong exercises at night, team leader Wang Dong ordered inmates Luo Jian and Sun Peng to beat and kick him, claiming he wasn't doing a good job. In August 2004, Li Zhenhai was beaten until his left eardrum ruptured. After three examinations at a hospital confirmed the diagnosis, he was transferred to a division specializing in the persecution of Falun Gong.

The Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp is known for its brutality in torturing Falun Gong practitioners, and nicknamed "heaven on earth." Since the persecution of Falun Gong began, personnel and atrocities at the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp topped the national list in several regards. The most number of victims (ten rows of detainees were chained to the ground then beaten and shocked with electric batons, over 1,000 people were tortured), the longest torture time, and the use of banned torture tools including the crank telephone device as electric shock tools. The guards here are ruthless and their torture is most widespread. Authorities from other labor camps came to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp to get "tips" on how to torture people more effectively. Yang Zemin personally demonstrated these tips. Toward the end of 2004, practitioner Wang Zhankun from Mongolia was beaten and shocked with the crank telephone device for several nights in a row while being deprived of sleep. It was learned that because the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp is among the most "advanced" in its persecution of Falun Gong, the CCP leadership has already planned to use Yang Zemin and other head perpetrators at the labor camp as scapegoats, once the Jiang Zemin regime's crime of persecuting Falun Gong is widely exposed.

During the past few years, after the persecution was exposed, the provincial government did not organize an investigation or order the local governments to monitor the investigation and outcome. Instead, they sent the reports to the labor camp divisions in charge of persecuting Falun Gong and let them deal with it on their own. Obviously, all investigations by these divisions, if conducted at all, will only serve as formalities or as attempts to silence public outcry. The real purpose is to cover up, encourage, or directly conduct these crimes.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liang Yufeng from Luzhou City, Sichuan Province had suffered from persecution by the local authorities many times. In November 2004, Ms. Liang Yufeng was illegally abducted by 610 Office personnel, including Lin Min, Tang Deyuan, and Lai Guokang. She was detained for a month, although the detention certificate stated only two weeks. On April 10, 2005, Lai Yi arrested her again and detained her in Naqi Detention Center.

Liang Yufeng is a widow. Her family members include her ailing elderly father, who is in his 90s, and a young grandson without mother's care. The local police station, National Security Section, and the neighborhood committee have often harassed the entire family. Her family lives in constant terror. On May 11, 2005, a police officer asked Liang Yufeng's son, You Xiaohua, to sign an arrest warrant in order to further persecute his mother. You Xiaohua, who had now reached his limit of enduring the mental pressure, had a mental collapse when he thought about the persecution that his kind mother would suffer again. Feeling desperate, he attempted to commit suicide by jumping from the building the next day, but his sister-in-law stopped him. He is now in a mental hospital.

Both You Xiaohua's bother and sister-in-law resigned from their jobs in order to tend to their brother, elderly grandfather, and two young children. Without any stable income, the family leads a bitter life.

Luzhou City is once again carrying out brainwashing sessions under the direction of the "610 Office." Professor Tang Xuezhen and Ms. Luo Shuizhen have been deceived and again detained in the Shibaowan Brainwashing Center.

Mr. Kang Zhiguo, a practitioner of Falun Gong, was employed by the Shanxi Province Mining Bureau. He was tortured in the Shanxi Province First Prison (also called the Jinzhong Prison). He was brutally beaten by prison guards with wooden clubs, which caused paralysis and the inability to stand upright. He died on May 20, 2005 inside the prison.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Kang Zhiguo was sentenced to three years in prison in late 2002. He was serving his term in the Jinzhong Prison, located in Qi County. Because he refused to accept brainwashing, Mr. Kang was viciously tortured by prison guards and other prisoners. The percentage of Falun Gong practitioners accepting brainwashing in this particular prison has been very low. In July 2004, as directed by the 610 Office, the prison undertook a new policy, known as "Hundred Days Attacking," to torture steadfast Falun Gong practitioners by using brutal beatings administered by hardcore prisoners, such as killers, and robbers.

During this period, Mr. Kang Zhiguo was beaten by prisoners with heavy clubs until he lay paralyzed on the floor and could not stand up for a long time. Under these unrelenting tortures, Mr. Kang, against his will, wrote a statement refuting his faith and belief in Falun Gong.

Another Falun Gong practitioner, Mr. Liu Zhibin from Xiguan Village, Wuling Town, Lingxiu County, was tortured to death on July 20, 2004. His family was told that he died of a heart attack. However, his family found that his body was covered with wounds, his wrists still showing the bruises from tight handcuffs. His body showed signs of electric shocks and burns from electric batons that were too horrible to look at.

In May 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Kang Zhiguo declared that all of his written statements renouncing the practice, made under duress, were null and void. This infuriated the prison guards. At the end of May, his family received a notice that he died of an illness on May 20, 2005.

Mr. Xu Mingdong, 73, and his wife Mrs. Xu Anqi were Falun Gong practitioners from Yulin City, Guangxi Province. After they retired in 1995 they were fortunate to learn Falun Gong. Their minds and bodies improved and were purified. During the 2001 Chinese New Year, they were illegally arrested by officers from the Yulin City Police Department and were sent to the Yulin City Detention Center where they were locked up for over two months. During this time, Mrs. Xu's mind and body were injured. After her release, Mrs. Xu died in June 2002. Mr. Xu Mingdong lived with his mother, who was in her 90s. He was continually harassed and monitored. These high-pressure circumstances took their toll on Mr. Xu. He showed symptoms of hydrocephalus in late 2004 and died on April 22, 2005.

Ms. Chen Ying, 57, resided in the Xiaguan District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. Ms. Chen was arrested in 1999 and was persecuted to the brink of death in a forced labor camp. The evildoers were afraid of taking responsibility and sent her back home that same year. Ms. Chen died one month later.

Ms. Xiao Yexiu, 63, was a resident of Luchuan County, Yulin City, Guangxi Province, and started to practice Falun Gong in 1998. Before that, Ms. Xiao suffered from hypertension. She was very thin and had a bad temper. Through studying Zhuan Falun and doing the five sets of exercises, she benefited significantly, both mentally and physically. She had a normal life and gradually developed an open mind. Black hair surprisingly grew in place of her white hair. Her family was amazed. After July 20, 1999, during the course of evil propaganda and the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) arrest of Falun Gong practitioners, she withstood extreme pressure from the propaganda and the severe circumstances, and persisted in practicing for a long time. Before the 2002 Chinese New Year, Ms. Xiao died while under high pressure from a new round of arrests of Falun Gong practitioners carried out by the 610 Office in Yulin City.

Ms. Chen Jiafang, 65, was a resident of the Dachang District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. Ms. Chen was the volunteer contact person for the Dachang District. In 1999 the persecutors sent her to a forced labor camp. Due to the persecution, her previous illnesses relapsed. She was released on medical bail for treatment. Ms. Chen died in January 2005.

Mr. Wang Fuxin was a resident of the Dachang District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, and an employee of the Nanjing Chemical Industry Cooperation. When the persecution started in 1999, persons from the street residential committee, along with police officers, often went to his home to harass him and force him to "reform," which resulted in his old illnesses relapsing. Mr. Wang died in spring 2004.

Mr. Xu Taibin was a resident of Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. He was a faculty member of Nanjing Agriculture University and lived in Houzaimen. After he learned Falun Gong in 1996, his body became light and without illnesses, and he went to spread Falun Gong. After the persecution started in 1999, Mr. Xu was locked up in a forced labor camp, where he suffered a stroke due to the persecution. Mr. Xu died in winter 2004.

Mrs. Feng Yongyuan, 66, was a Falun Gong practitioner from the Banan District, Chongqing City. After July 20, 1999, when the evil CCP officially began to persecute Falun Gong, lawless authorities often harassed and persecuted her. They threatened to cut off her husband's pension, which prompted her husband to beat her. Because of the mental and physical torture Mrs. Feng died in May 2003.

Mr. Zheng Xianyu, 74, was a retired employee of the Sichuan Forestry. Mr. Zheng lived in the No. 2 Group, Puming Village, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. He started to practice Falun Gong in 1998. Within one year he recovered from his illnesses, including urine calculus. One morning in June 2000, Mr. Zheng went to the local Dongtian Park to attend a experinece sharing conference. When he arrived at the gate of the park, police officers in hiding from the Xiaofuqiao Police Station arrested him. In the police station he was interrogated and threatened. They ransacked his home and confiscated all his Falun Gong books. Because at that time he didn't understand the laws of Falun Gong deeply enough, under pressure he gave his fingerprints on the record and signed a guarantee statement. Later, he solemnly declared on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website these actions were invalid and that he would firmly practice Falun Gong. Subsequently, Gao Yupu, party secretary of the No. 2 Group, Puming Village often led the local police to harass and threaten him. The elderly man's old illnesses, including urine calculus, relapsed and he died on July 14, 2001.

Mr. Ou Xiaode, 58, resided at 135 Yongfa Rd., Yongxing Town, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. Before practicing Falun Gong he was very weak with many illnesses. After he had esophageal cancer surgery, his health was severely impaired. In 1997 he fortunately learned Falun Gong, and then his illnesses went away. His body became healthy and he could even perform heavy physical work. After the evil CCP began to persecute Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong, Mr. Ou went to Beijing in December 1999. He was arrested while he was doing the exercises. Authorities from the Yongxing Police Station took him back from Beijing and detained him for 15 days. They extorted him of 5,000 yuan and ransacked his home. From February 26 to March 20, 2001, Mr. Ou was illegally locked up in the Gaoxin District Brainwashing Center for forced brainwashing and "reforming." Under the evil and brutal persecution, Mr. Ou wrote a guarantee statement giving up the practice. In July or August 2001, Mr. Ou asked fellow practitioners to help him make a solemn declaration on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website saying that all he had said and written under the evil high pressure was void, and that he would act righteously in the future. Because of long-term threats, and being tailed and monitored, Mr. Ou's body and mind were severely harmed. In early 2003 his body became swollen with ascites. Even so, Mr. Ou still persisted in going out to clarify the truth. Later, his illness exacerbated and he died on July 22, 2003.

Mr. Chen Qi, 73, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Wuhan, Hubei Province. Before he learned Falun Gong in 1993, he suffered from many illnesses. Later, all of his illnesses vanished. After July 20, 1999, police officers often went to his home to harass him, and Mr. Chen had to live elsewhere. Mr. Chen died on November 16, 2003.

Ms. Zhou Yun, 58, was a retired employee of the Gezhouba Repair Factory in Yichang City, Hubei Province. Ms. Zhou was many times harassed and persecuted by terrorists from the Gezhouba 610 Office. In 2002, personnel from the Gezhouba 610 Office planned to send her to a brainwashing center. To avoid further persecution, Ms. Zhou left her home and wandered about for a long period of time. Ms. Zhou passed away in the summer of 2003 at her schoolmate's home.

Ms. Gu Shichun, 65, was a resident of Guzhuangzi, Fengrun District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. After she learned Falun Gong in 1996, all manner of illnesses from which she had suffered vanished without treatment. After July 20, 1999, when the evil CCP started to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, lawless personnel from the police station wanted to send her to a brainwashing center. They went to her home to harass her four times. Thus, Ms. Gu's body and mind were severely injured. She died of illnesses on November 5, 2000.

Ms. Luo Huirong was in her 50s, and was a villager from Chengnei Village, Fengrun District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. On July 20, 1999 Ms. Luo went to Beijing to appeal. After her return the evildoers harassed her many times, which resulted in her previous illnesses relapsing. Ms. Luo died of illnesses in 2000.

Ms. Gao Fangrong, 54, was a practitioner from Fuyu County, Jilin Province. In October 2000, Ms. Gao went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong and was arrested. She was sent to the Fuyu County Detention Center and detained there for one month. The persecution severely harmed her body and spirit. Ms. Gao passed away on August 7, 2001.

Ms. Li Guiqin, 78, was a practitioner from Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province. Many of her illnesses disappeared on the same day she learned Falun Gong in 1998. After July 20, 1999, she was harassed frequently by police officers and had no choice but to leave home and wander about to avoid being persecuted. Ms. Li died in July 2003 in Dalian City.

Mr. Xu Huaxiang, 47, was a resident of Jinxiang County, Jining City, Shandong Province. Mr. Xu started to practice Falun Gong in 1998. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, he was arrested and sent to a local detention center twice for appealing on behalf of Falun Gong and clarifying the truth about the practice. In October 2002, Mr. Xu was forcibly taken to a local brainwashing center. He was sent back home after he held a hunger strike. Mr. Xu died of relapsed liver disease on December 15, 2002.

Mr. Wang Lianshu, 71, was a retired employee of the Yingtai Transportation Company in Hebei Province. He had suffered from Hepatitis B and low blood pressure. After he practiced Falun Gong all of his illnesses disappeared without treatment. He became mentally and physically healthy. Whenever he talked to anyone, he told them that Falun Gong brought good things to him. His wife and daughter were illegally locked up for over two months and extorted of 3,000 yuan because they went to Beijing to appeal in 2002. His workplace and the town police station authorities also exerted pressure on him. During the forced brainwashing, Mr. Wang wrote the so-called guarantee statement. Later, Mr. Wang made a declaration on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website saying that all the words he wrote against his will were void, and that he would compensate for his faults through correct actions. Mr. Wang was taken back to his hometown because he practiced Falun Gong. At New Years and other holidays, both the workplace and the town government organized people to "visit" him (actually monitoring and threatening him). They feared that he would go to appeal. Having his body and mind traumatized, Mr. Wang's previous illnesses recurred and he died on November 11, 2004.

1. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Torture Has Endangered Ms. Zhang Xiaoli's Life

Mrs. Zhang Xiaoli, from Qingyuan, Baoding City, Hebei Province is in very poor physical condition since she has been jailed and tortured for a long time. On May 20, 2005, the Baoding Female Labor Camp brought Mrs. Zhang to the Baoding 252 Hospital for an ultrasonic examination. They discovered two swollen objects in her pelvic cavity and uterus. On her ovaries, there are two cysts. The big one is as big as a goose egg, and the small one is the size of a chicken egg. For a long time, she was only able to eat a small amount of food at any given time. Now she throws up whatever she eats. She has had an unendurable stomachache for over seven months. She fluctuates between hot and cold and can hardly sleep. She has been reduced to a skeleton, weighting less than 100 jin (111 lb.).

Mrs. Zhang Xiaoli's husband, Mr. Hu Zhanfeng, has been jailed at a men's forced labor camp for a long time, as he also practices Falun Gong. Their elder son, Mr. Hu Shan, is being held at Qingyuan Brainwashing Center, because he is under 18 years of age.

Mr. Xiao Jihong from Huangshi City, Hubei Province was secretly arrested on June 2, 2005. Mr. Chen Xuedong from Huangshi City, Hubei Province was also arrested. He was secretly sentenced to two years. He is incarcerated at the Shizishan Forced Labor Camp in Wuhan, where he is being tortured.

3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Qiu Chunhua from Wuchang District is Arrested and Sent to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center

At around 6:30 p.m. on June 1, 2005, six policemen from the No. 2 Section of the Wuchan Public Security Sub-Bureau arrested Ms. Qiu Chunhua, who is in her 50s, from her home on Yangyuan Street, Wuchang District, Wuhan City, and took her to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center where she is currently being tortured.

4. [Tieli City, Heilongjiang Province] Shenshu Police Sub-Station Arrests Ms. Li Dongju

The local police arrested Ms. Li Dongju from Tieli City, Heilongjiang Province because she was hand-writing truth-clarifying materials. Witnesses say that the entire police force, led by Lu Fajiang, the acting director and political instructor of the police station, forcibly arrested her. Shao Lizhi is the only member of the police force that did not participate.

5. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Huang Jie's Home Ransacked and Ms. Guan Shuli and Ms. Wang Ling Arrested

On the afternoon of April 11, 2005, police from the Political and Security Section of Baoqing County and the Qixinpao Town Police Substation searched Mr. Huang Jie's home. They confiscated one computer, two printers and nearly five thousand yuan. The direct loss totaled nearly twenty thousand yuan. Ms. Guan Shuli and Ms. Wang Ling were visiting him at his home and they were also arrested. Mr. Huang Jie was successful in getting away and has since become homeless (they have posted his picture on the Internet, and are currently trying to find him). Ms. Guan Shuli and Ms. Wang Ling have been jailed at a forced labor camp in Jiamusi and are being tortured there.

6. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Rong Encheng from Songyuan City, Jilin Province is Arrested for Writing Truth-clarifying Posters

Mr. Rong Encheng, 46, is a resident of Taolaizhao Town, Fuyu County, Songyuan City, Jilin Province. In the spring of 2005, he went to Kunshan City for a job with the Jilin Communication and Construction Company, Section 6. There he continued studying the Falun Gong books doing the exercises, and clarifying the truth with determination.

At around 3:00 on May 16, 2005, the police arrested Mr. Rong as he was putting Falun Gong posters on a wall. He has been jailed at the Kunshan City Detention Center. On May 13, 2005, the Kunshan City Public Security Bureau and the Procuratorate confirmed the arrest and are trying to sentence him.

7. [Shenzhen City, Guandong Province] Mr. Liu Yu is Jailed at the Long'gang Detention Center

Mr. Liu Yu, a teacher from an Internet school, is around 30 years old. He resides in the Long Gang District. At noon on March 30, 2005, when he went home to prepare lunch, he saw that the safety gate and the inside door had been pried open. His home was in a total mess. A policeman named Liu was searching his home. Some other policemen dragged him outside and began to beat him in front of the neighbors. They then arrested Mr. Liu. He is being detained in the Long Gang Detention Center.

Mr. Liu went on a hunger strike to protest his torture and detainment. Nine days later, a policeman named He, with the badge number 064224, cruelly force-fed him.

8. [Nanning City, Guangxi Province] Mr. Liang Peihua is Arrested

At the beginning of June 2005, Mr. Liang Peihua from the Jiangnan District, Nanning City, Guangxi Province was followed, and arrested at his home because he had in his possession materials that "clarified the truth" about the persecution of Falun Gong.

9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] The local Police Arrested and Persecuted Practitioners, including Ms. Xin Xiuli

On May 10, 2005, policemen from the National Security Team of the Changchun City Public Security Bureau arrested Ms. Xin Xiuli, Mr. Shan Yimin, Shan Lixin and Ms. Jin Xiaoli from Changchun City when they were having lunch at a restaurant. The four were taken to a secret place in the suburbs to be interrogated. Later, they also arrested Ms. Zhao Shuyu. The police beat all five of them to differing extents and searched their homes. In the basement of one of their houses they found and confiscated computers, printers and Falun Gong materials.

Afterwards, they took the five practitioners to the Guilin Road Police Substation. Deputy director Wang Huachun interrogated them in person. During the interrogation, Ms. Zhao threw up, however the police ignored her physical condition and forcibly sent her to the Shuangyang No. 3 Detention Center.

Zhao Shuyu, Shan Lixin, and Jin Xiaoli have since been released. However, Ms. Xin Xiuli and Mr. Shan Yimin have been sent to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Xin and Mr. Shan are both teachers from a college in Changchun City.

10. [Shandong Province] Arrest of Mr. Liang Yu from the Gudao Community, Shenli Oil Field

Mr. Liang Yu from the Gudao Community, the Shenli Oil Field, was arrested at his workplace and taken to a brainwashing center, located at the Materials Supply Center. He was accused of refusing to be transformed even after three years of forced labor. Mr. Liang is on his fifth hunger strike protesting his detention and torture.

11. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Guo Qing is Arrested and Sent Back to Hubei

In December 2004, the police arrested and severely tortured Mr. Guo Qing from Chengdu City. He has been sent back to his hometown in Hubei.

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Police Arrest Ms. Zhang Xinnian

On June 1, 2005, the police from the Hongshan Public Security Bureau and the 610 Office arrested Ms. Zhang Xinnian, who is in her 40s, at her home. Ms. Zhang has been arrested three times since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, and has been jailed for long periods of time. Her home has been ransacked several times, and her family members have also been constantly harassed and threatened.

13. [Jiangsu Province] The Situation of Practitioners Jailed in Nanjing City

Since March 2005, the Nanjing City 610 Office has held many brainwashing sessions to "reform" Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioner who have been recently jailed at the brainwashing centers include:

Ms. Shen Chuanying, a resident from Dachang District, Nanjing City. She was arrested in March 2005. She is jailed at the visitor lodge of the Xinlian Machinery Factory.

Mr. Sha Minjun, a resident from Dachang District, Nanjing City. He was arrested in March 2005. He is jailed at the Yangxin Road Hostel.

Mr. Li Jun, a resident from the Liuhe District, Nanjing City. He is a teacher from Dachang Elementary School who is detained in a brainwashing center.

Ms. Wu Aifang, Ms. Yang Minglan and Ms. Yang Weizhen are also jailed in brainwashing centers.

14. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Police Arrest Ms. Li Bo

A policeman named Su Qing arrested Ms. Li Bo from the Rizhao Electricity Generating Factory in Shandong Province at her home. Her whereabouts remain unknown.

15. [Changji, Xinjiang] Ms. Qin Lihua is Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor

Ms. Qin Lihua, 50, from Changji City, Xinjiang, is a retired employee of the Road and Bridge Company of Changji City. On October 24, 2001, the Changji Hui Nationality Autonomous Region's 610 Office arrested her. She has been detained at a brainwashing center for the past two months.

Around the 2005 Chinese New Year, someone reported Ms. Zin Lihua to the police for giving out truth-clarifying materials. On March 2, 2005, policemen Yue Jiangmin and Huang Tai broke into her home and ransacked it. They confiscated Falun Gong books and materials including some copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. The police detained her for one month before they sentenced her to two years of forced labor.

16. [Yushu, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yuxia is Arrested

Ms. Wang Yuxia, 45, is a nurse from Yushu City, Jilin Province. On June 1, 2005, the police broke into her home and arrested her. The police took away her Falun Gong lectures, VCDs and Falun Gong books. Ms. Wang Yuxia is currently detained at the Yushu Detention Center.

1. Recently Police Officers Relentlessly Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners in Liaoning Province's Heishan County

Since mid-March of this year, the police from Liaoning Province's Heishan County have arrested nine Falun Gong practitioners and extorted large amounts of money from them. If they couldn't extort enough money from a practitioner, they sent the practitioner to a forced labor camp. On March 12, 2005, two practitioners who distributed some truth-clarifying flyers in Heishan County were illegally arrested by the police. On April 12, three Falun Gong practitioners who were farmers were abducted. On May 20, the police abducted Badaohao Town coal mine employee Wei Jinglong. At 5:00 a.m. on May 25, Falun Gong practitioner Zhan Zhigang, a teacher from Heishan County's Second High School, was abducted. Then, at the end of May, Zhang Jinrong was arrested and put into the Heishan County Detention Center.

Those primarily responsible for this persecution are Xiao Zhongying and Feng Wenfang, the Assistant Leader and Leader of the the Heishan County Police Bureau National Security Group respectively.

2. Police from Anqiu City, Shandong Province Continuously Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners During the Past Three Months

On March 11, 2005, practitioner Chen Anrui from Anqiu City's Anshang Town, Juanhe Village was abducted from his home. Anqiu City practitioner Gui Rong was kidnapped by police while working at a glass factory, and then sent to the Weifang City 610 Office brainwashing session to be persecuted. On that same day, a practitioner from Jiage Town was also abducted. Then, on March 15, many Falun Gong practitioners were abducted:

1. Falun Gong practitioner Su Xiaoyou, from Wangjiazhuang Town, Xingshan Village, his wife Zhou Shufen, and their married daughter Su Baoli were separately abducted by malicious police, and their home was illegally ransacked.

2. Practitioner Wang Jinyi, from Wushan Town was abducted while working, and his home was ransacked.

3. Falun Gong practitioners Li Huilan and Ma Ailing in the Jiage Street Community Office were separately abducted by police, and their homes were ransacked.

4. Falun Gong practitioners Liu Fangtang, Sun Yezhi, Zhang Fengfu, and Ma Baoguo, from Linghe Town, were abducted by policeman Li Fangkai and others. Their homes were also ransacked.

5. Shidui Town Falun Gong practitioner Wang Erde was illegally abducted from his home, and his house was ransacked. The officers stole Falun Gong books, tape players, one thousand yuan in cash, and also retirement pension cards.

6. Huangqibao Town Yijia Village Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Xi's home was illegally ransacked by police.

7. Flour factory worker Wang Haiqing's home was ransacked by police officers. They stole Falun Gong books and a tape recorder (valued at 550 yuan). Wang was not at home, so he was not arrested. The police, however, did not give up, and returned to Wang's home the next morning in an attempt to arrest him. Wang avoided persecution by not returning home (this was the third time that Wang has been persecuted through arrest).

8. Falun Gong practitioner Liu Xiaoyan's house on Xingan Street was ransacked by wicked policemen.

9. The police came to arrest Falun Gong practitioner Dai Yuqiu in Chengbei village. However, because he was not home, he managed to escape. The next morning, police again attempted to arrest Dai, but he managed to elude capture again.

3. The Persecution of Practitioners by Party officials in Fangping Village, Guangan City, Sichuan Province

Party officials in Fangping Village have taken part in the fierce persecution of local practitioners since 1999. These are the deeds currently known: On July 3, 2000, government officials from Guangan City, Guangan Township, and Fangping Village organized staff members to go to every village, every door to steal the belongings of Falun Gong practitioners, and to confiscate Falun Gong books. The scoundrels looted three bags of wheat, weighing around 125 kg., (275 lb.) a mattress, and a farmer's water pump worth two thousand yuan from Hu Xiurun's home in the second group of Wufang Village. Also, from Li Tianhui's home in the fifth group of Changhe Village, they stole a color television, a high-tech VCD player, a videotape player, and a tape recorder. They also swindled one thousand yuan by saying that he had to pay a fee for living expenses because his father, Li Xingqi, and mother, Chen Shibi, practiced Falun Gong. Also, from Li Yicui's home in the sixth group of Changhe Village, the corrupt officials took a pig and a television set, valued at about 600 yuan. Later, they swindled 400 yuan in cash, and also deceived family members into signin a debt record for 4,000 yuan. They also took Falun Gong books, a tape recorder, and various other things from Li Mingqian's home in Changhe village. From Yang Guangfen's home in Changhe village, they extorted 900 yuan, and also deceived family members into writing a debt record for 500 yuan. In 2004, the village comrade, in conspiracy with the Guangan City police station, ransacked Falun Gong practitioner Deng Deyu's home while also abusing and assaulting her. Then, on the evening of April 24, 2005, practitioner Li Tianhui's home was ransacked. They also forced Li to seek their permission whenever he wanted to go shopping or leave the village. Zhang Dajun and Chen Dingyuan have been spying on Falun Gong practitioners for a long time. If they find that a practitioner is practicing the exercises somewhere, they immediately notify the village government officials.
