In April 2004, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xu Aiping was arrested and sent to a brainwashing class, where she was injected with unknown drugs, causing damage to her brain and mental disorientation. She died on May 30, 2005.
Ms. Xu Aiping was 56 years old, an employee of Yanfeng District Environmental Clean Administration of Hengyang City, Hunan Province. After cultivating Falun Gong, Ms. Xu became very healthy after being a weak, sickly individual for a long time.
When Falun Gong was slandered by the Chinese government, Ms. Xu held firmly to her faith and went to Beijing to clarify the truth. In Beijing she was arrested numerous times, detained and brutally beaten. Ms. Xu was tortured in the Hengyang City Detention Center, the police station, and the drug rehabilitation center, where she was handcuffed behind her back and hung up by the cuffs for long periods of time. She was force-fed until her throat bled, deprived of sleep, made to perform heavy labor, and kicked in the face by policemen wearing heavy leather boots until her face was deformed.
In the beginning of April 2004, Ms. Xu Aiping was tricked by the Hengyang City 610 Office and her younger sister, and was arrested and sent to a brainwashing class in Changsha City. She was injected with unknown drugs, resulting in blurred vision, headaches, and loss of energy. She became mentally disoriented in January 2005. In the hospital a tracheotomy was performed because she had difficulty breathing. However, after five months of suffering in a hospital bed, she passed away on May 30, 2005.
Mr. Wang Zhenhua was 65 years old. He began to practice Falun Gong after he retired, and he became very healthy as a result. On November 3, 2004, guards at Fushan Town Detention Center in Weicheng District, Weifang City, Shandong Province tortured Wang Zhenhua cruelly, resulting in his death.
On December 25, 2001, the police ransacked his home, arrested Wang Zhenhua and took him to Fushan Town Detention Center. The policemen cuffed Mr. Wang's hands to an ice-cold telephone pole during a time when snow was everywhere on the ground. He suffered inhuman treatment in the prison. He was forced to work during the daytime and suffered from torture at night, day in and day out. He was given very little food and no water. His clothes were pulled off, and he was deprived of sleep at night. They forced him to serve criminals imprisoned in the detention center. He was brainwashed daily, without being released from the cuffs on his hands and feet. On December 26, 2001, Ms. Liu Guifang (62 years old), the wife of Wang Zhenhua, was also arrested and taken to the city boarding house brainwashing center. She also suffered severe persecution.
On January 7, 2002, Mr. Wang's family paid a fine to bail him out. After his release, he became ill. He could not understand the persecution he had to suffer. He suffered constant pain over his entire body and did not recover from his illness.
Due to the evil persecution, Wang Zhenhua died on November 3, 2004.
On May 12, 2005, police killed Falun Gong practitioner Yang Yuhua from Daqing City during a force-feeding torture session in the Daqing City Detention Center. After her death, the police refused to return her body to her family. The police continued to monitor telephone calls between her family members and friends and followed them. Yang Yuhua's body is now being kept at the Daqing Oilfield General Hospital. According to an eyewitness, she was emaciated, her mouth and eyes were wide open, and her facial expression was that of being in extreme agony.

Arrested and tortured by officers from the Tieren Police Department
Ms. Yang Yuhua, 50, was a teacher at the Daqing No. 6 Middle School. At midnight on April 16, 2005, about six police officers from Tieren District Police Department rushed into Yang's residence. They pulled her out of bed and took her away, along with her Falun Gong books and a computer. When the police ordered Yang Yuhua to sign the so-called "list of evidence", Yang refused and tore it to pieces. The infuriated police beat her violently. At midnight on April 17, she was sent to Daqing Detention Center. When a sympathetic person helped her to change her clothes, she found Yang's body covered in dark bruises. Yang Yuhua was critically injured.
After she was locked in a solitary confinement cell and forced to sit on a metal chair, violent force-feeding caused Yang Yuhua's death
Yang Yuhua was later sent to a solitary confinement cell and forced to sit in a metal chair for seven days. She resorted to a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Police intensified the abuse by force-feeding and other mental torment and physical tortures. People often heard her painful cries and calls for help, such as "The police are beating me!" Once, because Ms. Yang refused to comply with a humiliating jail rule, the police punished every person in her cell by forcing them to sit until midnight. During her hunger strike, she strongly resisted the violent force-feeding. For three days in a row, the police were unsuccessful in their efforts to force-feed her. She managed twice to bite and damage the feeding tube. Infuriated, the police replaced the tubes and went on to torture her with the feeding until they finally killed her on May 12, 2005.
Police refuse to return her body to the family; instead they continue to monitor the family members
Yang Yuhua's body is now in storage at the Daqing Oilfield General Hospital. During the autopsy, people saw her severely disfigured face as a result of all the abuse she had suffered.
The Provincial Justice Department has now completed the autopsy. Yang's family is waiting to see the results before they file a grievance for the deceased. Undercover police are closely watching Yang's family members at their residences. They even monitor their cell phone calls. Police still refuse to return Yang's body to the family. Any visitation to see her body has to be approved and the police need to be present on visits.
The undercover police questioned all of the relatives who visited the family and conducted background checks on these people. Once a family member talked about Ms. Yang's death to a friend over the phone, the friend would soon receive an intimidating phone call from an official, who would threaten, "Don't get involved in Falun Gong-related things."
Practitioners Mr. Liu Hongsheng and Mr. Li Xirui, both from Gucheng Township, Fucheng County, passed away in 2003 and 2004 respectively due to persecution.
Mr. Liu Hongsheng from Xihuo Village, Gucheng Township, started practicing Falun Gong in 1998 and behaved according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. All of his previous illnesses disappeared effortlessly. However, simply because he adhered to these principles, the police department and the 610 Office in Hengshui City persecuted him.
In 2002, Mr. Liu Hongsheng attended the funeral of Mr. Liu Qiusheng, who had been persecuted to death by the Fucheng County police, to publicly mourn him. As a result, the Fucheng County police arrested and detained him in a brainwashing class for a month. He was released after officials extorted money from him. Afterwards, he was repeatedly harassed by the police from Hengshui City and Fucheng County. He was forced to become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being arrested again. He suffered tremendous physical and psychological pain and died on September 25, 2003.
Mr. Li Xirui from Wangtaizhuang Village, Gucheng Township, also started practicing Falun Gong in 1998, and all of his previous illnesses, including hardening of the liver, quickly vanished. Mr. Li Xirui also attended Mr. Liu Qiusheng's funeral to publicly mourn him after Mr. Liu was persecuted to death in 2002. As a result, he, too, was arrested and taken to a brainwashing class and detained there for one month by Cuimiao Police Station and Fucheng County Police Station. He was released after the officials had extorted money from him. Because of the continuous harassment by the police from Gucheng Township Police Station, Mr. Li suffered extensive physical and mental difficulties and passed away in 2004.
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Wenlong from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province was sentenced to nine years in jail
Mr. Wang Wenlong, twenty-eight years old, is from Changshen Village, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. In June 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and was jailed in the Mentougou prison, Beijing City for eighteen days. When the Village Committee took him home, his body was covered in blood. Later on, he was jailed at a second detention center in Shuangcheng City.
In 2001, Mr. Wang was arrested in Changchan Village, Shuangcheng City. He escaped, but became homeless to avoid recapture and was again arrested later in Tsitsihar City. He was sentenced to nine years. Currently, he is in jail. At the end of August 2004, he sent a letter saying that he was seriously ill, so his family came to visit him. The meeting strictly monitored, and all the conversations were recorded. His family said, "His hands and feet were ice cold."

Mr. Wang Shiwei, forty-eight years old, was a farmer from Shenli Village, Zhaoyang County, Heilongjiang Province. He was detained three times and is currently jailed in the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp. Seven thousand yuan was extorted from his family.
On the Chinese New Year 2001, Mr. Wang was detained at the government building of Qianjing County, Shuangcheng City. In April 2001, he was persecuted for fifteen days at a nursing home in Zhaoyang County.
On February 13, 2004, Mr. Wang was detained at a detention center in Shuangcheng City for another fifteen days, and was then sentenced to two years in the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City. Currently, Mr. Wang is being seriously tortured in this labor camp, which has resulted in severe injuries. He is almost blind, and his lower leg and nose have been fractured. His family is currently in a financial crisis.
Huang Yanzhen and Guo Fenglan are currently detained
Falun Gong practitioner Ms Huang Yanzhen is currently in jail. She is sixty-two years old and lives in the Wenxin area, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. Before practicing Falun Gong, she had several diseases. After practicing Falun Gong, all her diseases were cured without taking any medicine. After the persecution started on July 20, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong several times and also clarified the truth about Falun Gong locally. The police arrested her several times, and she escaped several times from the detention center, forced labor camp, and brainwashing center.
On October 8, 2004, while Ms. Huang and Guo Fenglan were clarifying the truth about Falun Gong on a bus, policemen from Wujia County arrested them. They were detained at the police station in Shuangcheng City. On October 18, the local court issued an authorization for their arrest, and they were detained at a second detention center in Shuangcheng City on October 20.
On October 26, without going through any legal process, both of them were sentenced to seven years in prison. In the document that the police prepared, Ms. Huang's and Guo Fenglan's daughters-in-law were the witnesses. Actually, they did not know that they were witnesses at all. In order to persecute these Falun Gong practitioners, the policemen compiled fake documents.
Two months after Ms. Huang and Guo Fenglan were detained in the second detention center of Shuangcheng City, they were sent to the Women's Prison of Heilongjiang Province. Ms. Huang was locked in solitary confinement and forced fed. Workers from the prison only informed her family when she was on the verge of death.
The following accounts are stories of 27 elderly Falun Gong practitioners who had become healthy from practicing Falun Gong. They suffered the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) evil persecution and lost their practice environment. Some were threatened, and their families were cruelly persecuted. Some were unable to continue practicing in the suppressive environment and were forced to give up practicing and cultivation, which resulted in a relapse of their previous illnesses, and they eventually died.
Mr. Yang Tongwu, 85, was from Shandong Province. During the early stages of the persecution in 1999, he was compelled to give up practicing Falun Gong. He was forced to stand barefoot on an asphalt road on hot days at noon, which burned his feet and made them swell up. His grandson was supposed to join the army in 2003. Mr. Yang was once again told to give up his belief, or the army would reject his grandson. As a result, he gave up the practice. He also missed his daughter, who had been illegally detained for over three years. The prolonged stress under this persecution took a toll on him, and he passed way in April 2005.
Ms. Qu Lushi, 93, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Dongsanjiazi Village, Yangshu Town, Dehui City, Jilin Province. Under the prolonged persecution, she passed away on December 26, 2002.
Ms. Zhong Mingying, 92, was from Dalianwan Town, Ganjingzi District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. Under the prolonged persecution, she passed away in early February 2005.
Ms. Sun Yuzhen, 91, was from Huludao City, Liaoning Province. Before she started cultivation she suffered from rheumatism and had to take medication daily. She also suffered from severe constipation. In 1997 she began practicing Falun Gong. She improved her xinxing, which resulted in a happier family, and her illnesses were cured. Her son and daughter-in-law were also Falun Gong practitioners. After July 20, 1999, when the persecution began, the police often went to their home and harassed them. The media propaganda and slander frightened her. She was scared and gave up practicing. In the fall of 2000 she became ill. In May 2002 she was harassed and threatened again, and her condition worsened. She passed away on December 1, 2002.
Ms. Xi Guizhi, 84, was from Fuxin City, Liaoning Province. Her daughter appealed to the higher authorities for Falun Gong and was illegally detained, which caused Ms. Xi's health to deteriorate. She passed away on October 11, 1999.
Ms. Yao Sheng, 82, was from Xingtun Village, Leshan Town, Chaoyang District, Changchun City, Jilin Province. Her son and daughter-in-law practiced Falun Gong, and after July 20, 1999 they were persecuted and illegally detained. They were sent to forced labor camps and forced to leave their own home. Their house was searched and they were fined. The evildoers often harassed them. Ms. Yao was compelled to give up the practice due to the prolonged persecution. She was under physical and mental stress and became bedridden. She passed away on March 16, 2005.
Ms. Yu Guiying, 80, was from Bayujuan, Yingkou City, Liaoning Province. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. After the Jiang regime started the persecution on July 20, 1999, the police harassed her, and she passed away on November 7, 2004.
Mr. Xiao Yongzun, 78, was from Dalian City, Liaoning Province. In 1998, a car hit him on a sidewalk and ran over his legs. Prior to Falun Gong practice, he had pathological conditions as aftereffects of a stroke. It was a miracle that he was still able to stand up. He didn't ask for one cent of compensation from the driver. Everyone who witnessed this thought Falun Gong was so good. In 2001 his daughter brought him back to Yantai. The next day, Police Chief Sun Wencheng from the Xiangyang Police Station in Yantai arrested his daughter and sentenced her to two years of forced labor. He was shocked by this, and since then couldn't take care of himself. Under the evil persecution, he passed away in November 2001.
Ms. Liu Mingxin, 78, was from Yitong Couty, Jilin Province. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1995. She had hepato-cirrhosis and high blood pressure. These illnesses disappeared after she began practicing, and her face glowed with health. After July 20, 1999, due to the party's slander on television and demonizing Falun Gong, she gave up the practice. She then suffered a relapse of her previous conditions and passed away in October 2000.
Ms. Yu Shuqing, 77, was from Huichun City, Jilin Province. She had several illnesses. After she began practicing Falun Gong in September 1998, she benefited mentally and physically and no longer needed any medication. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, the police often went to her house to harass her and took away her Falun Gong books. She became frightened and no longer practiced, which resulted in a relapse of her previous illnesses. She passed away on February 25, 2005.
Mr. Liu Yuchen, 77, was from Xueli Village, Jiguan Town, Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province. After he began practicing Falun Gong in 1995, the back and leg problems he had suffered from for over 30 years disappeared. After July 20, 1999, persons from the city's 610 Office and the local police station often harassed him and searched his house. He couldn't practice. He suffered a relapse of his old health problems and passed away on April 28, 2004.
Mr. Gao Guoxiang, 76, was from Kunming City, Yunnan Province. He lived in Room 4-8, Level 4, Unit 4 at the Xishan Prison Dormitory, Heilinpu Town, Xishan District. Prior to 1995 he had a stroke and stayed in the hospital for three years. He relied on crutches to walk. After he started practicing Falun Gong in June 1995, he got rid of his crutches and was able to walk unaided. In 2001, his wife distributed truth-clarification flyers and was unlawfully detained for six months. Their house was searched several times. The police often harassed Mr. Gao. Fang Mei from the Retiree Management Committee at Mr. Gao's workplace assigned a retiree named Zhao Meizhi, Gao's neighbor, to monitor him. Fan Mei intimidated Mr. Gao into renouncing Falun Gong, otherwise he wouldn't get his pension or keep his house. On January 13, 2002, Zhao Meizhi invited the head of the armed police to her house for drinks. When the police officer got drunk, she dragged him to Gao Guoxiang's house. The police officer cursed Gao's family, and threatened to arrest and kill them. Later Gao Guoxiang and his wife had to move elsewhere. After Fan Mei compelled Gao Guoxiang to renounce Falun Gong, his health deteriorated. With Zhao Meizhi's constant harassment, Gao's condition worsened. He passed away on August 13, 2003.
Mr. Yang Fengyi, 76, was from the Pingfang District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. He practiced Falun Gong until July 22, 1999. After the CCP started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, he became fearful and gave up the practice. Local police constantly threatened and harassed him. He passed away on June 18, 2003.
Mr. Ye Chunhai, 74, from Xincheng Street, Xinxing District, Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province. He began practicing Falun Gong in 1998. After the persecution started on July 20, 1999 he gave up practicing and passed away on January 29, 2002.
Mr. Wang Xi, 73, was from Guangen Village, Bin County, Heilongjiang Province. He began practicing Falun Gong in the summer of 1998. After the persecution started on July 20, 1999 he gave up the practice and passed away on January 28, 2000.
Ms. Yuan Suyun, 73, was an employee from the Baihe Forestry Bureau, Antu County, Jilin Province. Falun Gong practice made him healthy. His family was happy and was honored as an "Excellent Family." After the persecution started on July 20, 1999, the local police often harassed him and he gave up the practice. He passed away on December 17, 2000.
Mr. Ren Zhende, 73, was from Gaizhou City, Liaoning Province. He started practicing Falun Gong in 1998 and benefited both mentally and physically. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, he gave up the practice and passed away in early September 1999.
Mr. Han Quanguan, 73, was from Wuhan City, Hubei Province. He was a retired cadre. After July 20, 1999 police often went to his home to harass him. In 2000 his wife went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and was arrested and subjected to brainwashing. He was under great stress and couldn't practice on a regular basis due to the evil persecution. He passed away on October 15, 2000.
Mr. Yang Ran, 72, was from Pingdingshan City, Henan Province. He had several illnesses, such as pneumonia and leg problems, before he began practicing Falun Gong. In 1998, one month after he started practicing, all of his illnesses disappeared, and he was able to walk without any problem. After the persecution started on July 20, 1999 he couldn't practice normally and passed away on October 26, 2000.
Mr. Wang Zhaodi, 70, practiced at a group practice site at the Shanghai Jiaotong University. He was sick when he was young and had several illnesses, such as heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and some unknown diseases. Since he started practicing Falun Gong in 1996, his diseases disappeared. After the persecution started on July 20, 1999 he gave up the practice. Under the mental and physical stress, he passed away in January 2002.
Mr. Li Zhaopan, 70, was from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. After he obtained the Fa in 1998, his health problems disappeared. After the persecution started on July 20, 1999 he was afraid of being persecuted and gave up practicing. He suffered a relapse and passed away in January 2001.
Ms. Zhang Shuxiu, 69, was from Wuqing District, Tianjin City. In 1999 she went to higher authorities to appeal for Falun Gong. After July 20, 1999 the local police often harassed her. She was afraid and stopped practicing. She passed away in January 2002.
Ms. Wang Yufen, 69, was from Beixianfang Village, Handian Town, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. After she began practicing Falun Gong in 1998, her illnesses disappeared. On July 20, 1999, due to the Jiang regime's persecution, her family was deceived by the media propaganda and started watching her to stop her from practicing. She passed away on June 16, 2002.
Ms. Guo Fengge, 69, was a farmer from Liushizhuang Village, Xinzhaidian Town, Zhao County, Hebei Province. She had uremia, but since she started practicing Falun Gong in the first half of 1999 this health problem disappeared. After July 20, 1999, due to the ruthless persecution, she was compelled to give up practicing and suffered a relapse. She passed away in June 2000.
Mr. Feng Ricun, 69, was from Fengjia Village, Longkou City, Shandong Province. He was a retired worker from the Jinlong Fan Factory in Longkou and had several illnesses before he starting cultivating, the most severe being high blood pressure. His stomach was swollen like a drum, and doctors could determine the root cause. His wife was practicing Falun Gong and changed a lot. Impressed by his wife's changes, he started practicing Falun Gong and his illnesses went away. The couple set up a Fa study group in their home, and he was the group assistant. On July 20, 1999 the persecution started. He went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was detained by the police and sent to a brainwashing center. He was forced to write the Three Statements. After he returned home, the local authorities constantly harassed him. He passed away from a stroke on March 5, 2004.
Ms. Wang Fenglan, 68, was from the Taoshan District, Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1996 and benefited both mentally and physically. She was under great stress after the persecution started on July 20, 1999 and passed away in June 2002.
Ms. Wang Yufan, 68, was from Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. She had several illnesses, including asthma, before she started practicing. After she began practicing Falun Gong in 1996, her diseases disappeared. Due to the prolonged persecution after July 20, 1999 she suffered a relapse and passed away on April 11, 2005.
At around 8 a.m. on May 13, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Dan, 31, from Guanghua Village, Lequn Township, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province was cleaning up the firewood in her front yard. Suddenly a group of police officers stormed in and dragged her to a vehicle parked on the street. Her ten-year-old child was left at home alone. The chickens she raised were left unattended. Another Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Shouhua , 40, was also arrested when she was working in her yard.
The police arrested seven Falun Gong practitioners and held them all in the Shuangcheng City Detention Center. Witnesses said that 30-40 policemen arrived in five police vans. They were led by the Lequn Township Police Substation Director Kong Qingman (male) and the Guanghua Village Head Zhao Chunxi (male). It is the busy farming season, and every family has endless work to do. Besides, every family has elderly family members and young children. The locals are saying that the police cannot tell good from bad; they arrested only good people, and do not allow farmers to live a peaceful life. The people were angry about these arrests, yet out of fear, they dared not voice their objections.
The safety of these seven practitioners is a matter of concern because so many tragic torture cases have taken place in the Shuangcheng City Detention Center. Police officers Zhang Guofu, Jin Wanzhi, Zhu Xiaobo and others have tortured many practitioners. More than twenty practitioners have been tortured to death in the Shuangcheng City Detention Center, and countless practitioners have been sentenced to forced labor camps or prisons. No one really knows how many families have been broken apart due to the persecution.
On May 8, 2005, a thief reported to police officers from the Dongshan Station in Lushuihe, Fusong County, Baishan City, Jilin Province that while he was burglarizing a home, he found Minghui/Clearwisdom materials and Master Li's photo. Police Director Tang Longping (male) then led four officers to ransack the home of Ms. Yang. They arrested Ms. Yang, her husband, and their child Shengwei.
The police brutally beat twelve-year-old Shengwei while trying to find out the source of the Minghui materials. They flogged him with two metal wires more than twenty times. Young Shengwei had two huge bumps on his head and his body was covered with bloody marks.
Officer Zhang Fuwei slapped Shengwei's face after he was flogged, and cursed Falun Gong. He said that Baishan City officials specifically assigned him to go to Beijing and arrest practitioners.
Young Shengwei could not bear the pain, so he lied, saying that his father brought home these materials. Hence, his family of three was taken to the police station, and his mother was held in the Fusong County Detention Center.
The police did not care about the thief who was stealing, but only cared about arresting the innocent. This is the current state of the Chinese legal system under the Chinese Communist Party's rule.
The Fusong County Detention Center Director Li Kegang (male) was appointed in 2005. He used to work in the Dongshan Station and bears hatred against Falun Gong. He was transferred to the Manjiang Station for a while and then transferred to the Fusong County Detention Center.

1. [Henan] The Police Arrest Mr. Ma Gang from the Nanyang Oil Field
On May 9, 2005, officers of the oil field police station arrested Mr. Ma Gang from the Nanyang Oil Field in Henan Province. The police searched his belongings and found seven copies of materials including a hand-copied Hong Yin, a "Minghui Weekly" and a "Zhengjian Weekly." He was later sent to a prison in Nanyang. On May 16, he was sentenced to eighteen months of forced labor.
After arresting Mr. Ma, the oil field police lied to his parents and told them that he was just detained temporarily. When Mr. Ma's family members received the forced labor notice on May 16, Mr. Ma was transferred from the prison to a detention center. On the morning of the May 18, he was sent to a forced labor camp, and his family members knew nothing of his situation.

On May 12, 2005, several people arrested Ms. Liu Gaixian from Bei Wu Shao Village, Fengming Town, Qishan County, Baoji, Shaanxi Province at her home. She is being held at the Qishan County Detention Center. She has been on a hunger strike since day one and was brutally force-fed at the detention center.
The police arrest Mr. Zhao Gencang from Gongsi Village, Daying Township, Qishan County on the afternoon of April 20, 2005. He is being detained and tortured in the Qishan Detention Center.
3. [Weifang, Shandong] Mr. Liu Wenquan Tricked into Entering a Brainwashing Center after Finishing 3 years of Forced Labor
Mr. Liu Wenquan is a 29 years old resident of Zeer Village under the Beiyuan Street Office, from the Kuiwen District, Weifang City, Shandong Province. He was forced to become destitute and homeless to avoid being persecuted for practicing Falun Gong. In 2002 he was arrested while staying at his apartment and was later sent to Weifang Changle Labor Camp for three years.
On May 1, 2005, Mr. Liu was released an allowed to go back home. On May 8, a local policeman from the Beiyuan police station, led by the Kuiwen District Beiyuan Street Office and accompanied by a Zeer village government employee, talked Mr. Liu into entering a brainwashing center. Mr. Liu was told he would have to only spend 2 or 3 days at the center. After eight days, he has not returned home. His family members finally realized they were deceived.
4. [Qingdao, Shandong] Ms. Li Jie Sentenced to 2 Years of Forced Labor
Ms. Li Jie from Qingdao was arrested before May 1 and sentenced to 2 years in a forced labor camp. She has been taken to Shandong Province's second female labor camp in Wangcun.
5. [Beijing] Dr. Yu Di Arrested While Working at the Hospital
On April 22, 2005, Dr. Yu Di, in her 30s, from the B-ultrasonic scanning section of the Guang'anmen Hospital in Beijing Xuanwu District was arrested for distributing Falun Gong materials while she was working at the hospital. She is being held at the Xuanwu Police Sub-Bureau.
6. [Guangzhou, Guangdong] Ms. Han Yuejuan's Prison Term Extended by Three Years Because She Said, "Falun Dafa is Good," Three Times
Ms. Han Yuejuan from Guangzhou is steadfast in her belief in Falun Gong. The Guangzhou police arrested her in June 2001. She has since been held in a detention center in the Longdong Wushan District of Guangzhou and sentenced to six years in prison.
In the court, when she was asked about her understanding of Falun Gong, Ms. Han spoke out saying, "Falun Dafa is good," righteously and loudly three times. The Guangzhou court therefore extended her prison term for three years in addition to the original three years. The Guangzhou court explained that, since Ms. Han said three times that "Falun Dafa is good," each time resulted in one more year in prison.
7. [Jiangsu] Many People Arrested in Huankou Town, Feng County
On May 19, 2005, many people were arrested in Huankou Town, Feng County, Jiangsu Province. Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu (over 30 years old) was arrested together with his mother and wife. Their current situation is unknown.
8. [Zhaodong, Heilongjiang] Ms. Sun Xiujuan Trapped
Ms. Sun Xiujuan was from Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province. On May 12, 2005, the Zhaodong police told her that she could visit her husband Mr. Zhang Wentao at the city Detention Center. When she went there, she was detained.
Mr. Zhang Wentao and Mr. Wang Yafeng were arrested on November 23, 2004, and have been held in the city Detention Center. The Zhaodong municipal police detained Ms. Sun Xiujuan. Their 4-year-old son was left at home unattended. Sun Xiujuan's mother, who is physically weak, is now looking after her grandson with great difficulty. Currently Ms. Sun is on a hunger strike to protest her imprisonment.

9. [Hunan] Ms. Xiao Anjiao Sent to the Guangdong Sanshui Labor Camp
In the beginning of April 2005, officers from Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau, Longgang District Sub-Bureau arrested Ms. Xiao Anjiao from Shaodong, Hunan Province, at the Longgang District. Ms. Xiao worked in a factory and distributed Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in her spare time. On May 16, a female fellow practitioner at the detention center called and revealed that Ms. Xiao had been held for 5 days at the Shenzhen Longgang Detention Center. She was reported to the Shenzhen Forced Labor Committee and received a one-year forced labor term. She was then taken to the Guangdong Sanshui female labor camp.
10. [Xichang, Sichuan] Ms. Zhang Tianyu Arrested by the City National Security Group
Ms. Zhang Tianyu from Xichang City, Sichuan Province is 68 years old. Officers from the city national security group arrested her and sent her to the Tuohuang detention center recently for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong.
11. [Beijing] Mr. Huang Guangli and Ms. Luo Xiurong, a Couple from the Majiabao, Fengtai District, Arrested and Their Property Confiscated
Mr. Huang Guangli and Ms. Luo Xiurong from Jiayuan Erli Village, Majiabao were sent to a labor camp for two years in November 2002. They were released in November 2004.
In mid-January 2005, some people turned them in. As a result, they were arrested and their property confiscated. Ms. Luo was sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor. She was imprisoned in the Beijing Tiantang River Labor Camp. Mr. Huang is imprisoned in the Fengtai Detention Center. His situation is unknown. They have a child who is a freshman at a vocational high school.
12. [Zhaoyuan, Shandong] Mr. Xu Jianlin and Ms. Liu Chunying from Xiadian Town Arrested
On the evening of May 4, 2005, Mr. Xu Jianlin and Ms. Liu Chunying went out to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. The police from the Zhaoyuan City Xiadian town public security sub-bureau arrested them. Now Ms. Liu is being held at the Linglong brainwashing center and Mr. Xu is being held at the Zhaoyuan City Detention Center.

13. [Heilongjiang] Ms. Li Shuling, Mr. Gu Guanghou, Ms. Liu Benzhi and others from Linkou, Mudanjiang arrested and Brutally Tortured
On April 6, 2005, the police from the national security group: Jia Xijie (chief), Hou Qinyou, Wang Qinghe and Wang Chunming, arrested Ms. Li Shuling from Linkou County, Mudanjiang City. Her husband Mr. Gu Guanghou, a Falun Gong practitioner, went to ask for her release and was also arrested. Afterwards the police arrested Ms. Liu Benzhi, Ms. Yang Guizhen, Ms. Yuan Xiukun and some Falun Gong practitioners from Liushu and Baolin townships.
Ms. Li Shuling and her husband Mr. Gu Guanghou are being held at the Linkou second Detention Center. Li Fu (the Mudanjiang national security group chief), Wang Qinghe and Jia Xijie (the Linkou County national security group chief) and others brutally tortured them. They were force-fed black mustard oil, suffocated with their heads wrapped in plastic bags, subjected to the big "hang up" (in the "Hang Up" torture method, the victim is suspended by handcuffs with his feet off the floor) and other torture methods. Mr. Gu was tortured so severely that he fainted. After being taken to a hospital and revived, he was carried back to the detention center. His internal organs were injured and he vomited a lot of blood. He is no longer able to walk.
14. [Huangshan, Anhui] Mr. Jie Guangfu held for Nearly Ten Months
Since September 2004, for nearly ten months, the Huangshan municipal public security bureau has held Mr. Jie Guangfu from Huangshan City at the City Xiaolongshan Detention Center. There has been no verdict or any kind of written notification.
15. [Heilongjiang] Ms. Yang Lixia and Ms. Tao Hongmei Sentenced and Tortured
The Harbin intermediate court sentenced Ms. Yang Lixia and Ms. Tao Hongmei to 6 to 7 years in prison. They are presently being tortured in the Harbin women's prison.

16. [Fuyuan, Heilongjiang] Mr. Sun Yanhui from Yanan Township Arrested
Mr. Sun Yanhui from Yanan Township, Fuyuan County is in his 50s. On May 12, 2005, Zhang Sidong and others from Fuyuan County political security section arrested him. Later he was held in the Fuyuan County Detention Center. On May 17, Zhang Sidong and other officers broke into an elderly Falun Gong practitioner's house in Fuyuan town, Fuyuan County. They ransacked his house, but found no evidence.

17. [Jilin] Ms. Zhang Yazhen and Her Sister-in-law Arrested; Their Present Whereabouts Unknown
On May 17, 2005, several policemen from the ninth station of the Jilin City economical technology development area public security sub-bureau, broke into the home of Ms. Zhang Yazhen's younger brother, and confiscated some of the family's property. The police also arrested Ms. Zhang Yazhen, who happened to be there visiting her brother, together with her sister-in-law.
Their whereabouts are unknown, and their family members are continuously looking for them.

Recently, the police arrested Ms. Liu Fengxia, a Liaoyuan 14th Middle School teacher.
19. [Jiyuan, Henan] The Police Arrest Mr. Yuan Shengjun
The police arrested Mr. Yuan Shengjun from Jiyuan City in March 2005, and took him to the Jiyuan Detention Center. Mr. Yuan went on a hunger strike to protest his arrest, so the police force-fed him.
20. [Hubei] The Wuchang Police Arrest Ms. Wang Ling from Hubei University
On March 4, 2005, the local police from the Wuchang District Yujiatou Police Sub-station arrested Ms. Wang Ling, about 50 years old, from Hubei University for clarifying the truth. Recently she was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor. The labor camp does not allow her family members to visit her.
21. [Wuhan, Hubei] The "610 Office" Arrests Ms. Ye Chunfeng
On the morning of May 13, 2005, members of the "610 Office" arrested Ms. Ye Chunfeng from Wuhan at her home, the dormitory of the Hubei Province Xinhua hospital. They took her to the Jianghan Area Brainwashing Center for detention. The "610 Office" dispatched two vehicles and more than 20 people to arrest her.
22. [Chengdu, Sichuan] Zhang Weihua and Others Arrested
On May 13, 2005, in Chengdu, the police arrested Zhang Weihua and spouse (Junior Zhou) together with another fellow practitioner whose name is unclear. The police also ransacked Junior Zhou's home.
23. [Mianyang, Sichuan] Ms. Jiang Xianzhen Arrested
On May 5-8, 2005, the police arrested Ms. Jiang Xianzhen, 64, from Mianyang City at her home. The police immediately ransacked her house and confiscated some of her property.
24. [Heilongjiang] The Police Arrest the Kan Sisters
On the morning of May 17, 2005, local police from Yinlang police station went to Ms. Kan Xiumei's home and knocked on the door. Ms. Kan did not open the door. The police pounded on the door and then broke the window in order to enter her home. They ransacked her house and confiscated her personal computer among other things. They arrested Ms. Kan Xiumei and her sister Ms. Kan Xiujuan. Ms. Kan Xiumei has since escaped with the help of righteous thoughts.
25. [Beijing] The Police Arrested Mr. Li Zhongqiang and Mr. Ban Qirong from Chaoyang
On March 1, 2005, the Xicheng District police arrested Mr. Li Zhongqiang and Mr. Ban Qirong from the Chaoyang District at the home of a Falun Gong practitioner from the Xicheng District.
26. [Daqing, Heilongjiang] The Police Arrest Mr. Wang Kui, His Wife and Others and Ransack Their Homes
After 3 p.m. on May 18, 2005, Mr. Wang Kui and his wife Ms. Liu Shujuan returned to their home at apartment 501, unit 4, building 2-2, Qi Garden, Rang District in Daqing after a trip to Harbin. Within an hour, the police arrested them together with their neighbor Ms. Yang Yulan and a fellow villager who came to visit them. The police returned later to ransack Ms. Yang's home.
27. [Kuitun, Xinjiang] Mr. Li Xinren Sent to a Labor Camp
Mr. Li Xinren, in his 40s, was an employee at the Tietong Company's Kuitun Branch. On February 23, 2005, after visiting his parents in Urumqi, the Kuitun railroad police arrested him on his way back to Kuitun on the No. 5801 train. The police found truth-clarifying materials in his luggage. In order to receive credits and rewards from the "610 Office," the Kuitun railroad police sentenced Mr. Li to three years of forced labor. Mr. Li is being detained in the Xinjiang Changji Labor Camp's sixth group. His wife does not have a job and their son is an elementary school third grade student.
