The Mohe County, Heilongjiang Province education committee director, Ms. Li Yushu, fifty-five years old, was detained, sentenced, and persecuted in the Harbin Women's Prison because she firmly practices Falun Gong. Ms. Li has been on a hunger strike for 10 months and her life is in danger. Every day her hands are tied with a rope and her mouth is sealed with adhesive tape.
The prison officials from the Harbin Women's Prison Section Eight have threatened, tempted and tortured her, but none of their actions has moved her. Between September and November 2003, Ms. Li together with Shang Shuzhe, Ding Yu, Wang Hongjie, and Tian Guiqing protested against the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in prison. As a result, they were force-fed for forty-seven days. Once, the guards inserted a stomach tube for force feeding. It was changed only once a week and the tube turned black. Every day two people were handcuffed together behind their backs while sitting back to back. They were not allowed to sleep in their beds.
In December of 2003, the guards twisted her arms and tied them behind her back, badly hurting her arms.
At the beginning of year 2004, Ms. Li was chained to the head of the bed together with a fifth ward practitioner from the Prison Section 8. She had been on a hunger strike for three months to protest the persecution of practitioners. They did not let her sleep at night and forced her to sit with her hands cuffed behind her back around the clock.
Ms. Li has been on her current hunger strike since August 2, 2004. In November 2004, she was moved to Prison Section 9 and was locked in a small cell(1). She has been in solitary confinement in Prison Section 9 since February 3, 2005. She has continued her hunger strike, and her life is in serious danger.

(1) Locked in Small Cell: A small cell is a room of less than three square meters. It has no window, no bed, no water, and no toilet. The practitioner is locked in a small cell for months, having to eat, sleep, and excrete in the same small area. Since the height of the room is less than 1.5 meters, the practitioner cannot stand straight. To exacerbate the agony, the guards often handcuff the practitioners to the small cell door or behind their backs, so that the pain prevents them from being able to sleep.
Two elderly Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Guan Shuying and Li Jinrong died recently due to enormous mental and physical pains inflicted by tortures that they suffered at the Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province.
Ms. Guan Shuying, 63, lived at #9, 4th Group, Hedong Village, Linjiang City, Jilin Province. She was a retired worker from the Linjiang Pharmaceutical Company. Since she started practicing Falun Gong in 1993, she actively participated in promoting Falun Gong. She was very determined about practicing Falun Gong, and had never yielded to the persecution in any form, such as writing a Repentance Statement. She walked out of the labor camp twice with dignity. On December 3, 2000, she was abducted at the local train station and was sentenced to one year labor re-education. The Jiutai Labor Camp tortured her by forcing her to stand for 24 days until her feet, legs were swollen, and she felt so dizzy that she could no longer stand up. Her blood pressure went up and was forced to take drugs and receive injections.
In September 2001, Guan Shuying was transferred to the infamous Heizuizi Labor Camp. They tortured her by forcing her to stand for long duration without sleep. They inject drugs into her body. In March 2002, she was again abducted in a local massive raid and was sentenced to one year of forced labor. Again, the Heizuizi Labor Camp tortured her both mentally and physically by forcing her to stand for long time without sleeping, beating, electric shock, etc. Because she was so determined, the guard beat and shocked her repeatedly. She lost consciousness several times during the tortures, vomited and showed sign of life threatening danger. Even though she was released later, the great mental and physical anguish suffered at the labor camp seriously damaged her health, and she passed away on May 15, 2005.

Ms. Li Jinrong, 59, was a Falun Gong practitioner in Changchun City, Jilin Province. She had serious ailments in the heart and brain areas resulting in hospitalization. Her health and virtue improved tremendously after starting to practice Falun Gong. She was persecuted because she testified for Falun Gong using her own personal cultivation experience after the Chinese Communist Party started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. She was abducted and detained twice for 30 days by the Xisantiao Police Station at the Kuancheng District in Changchun City, as well as a one year labor re-education at the Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp.
At the labor camp, the guard at the 6th Group (Group for new detainees) slapped and electric shocked Li Jinrong around her head, heart and neck area simply because she shouted "Falun Dafa is good." The torture caused serious heart and brain damage to Li Jinrong, requiring her hospitalization. She suffered partial paralysis of her body and bleeding around her gums. Due to constant propaganda by the CCP government officials to her family and the coercion by the Xisantiao police, her family was very hard and unforgiving on her, further making her life miserable and her well being difficult. Finally she moved into a senior citizen's apartment by herself with severely deteriorated health. She died in the apartment later (the exact date was not known.)

Falun Gong Practitioners Ms. Yang Xianmei, Ms. Sun Aihua and Mr. Wu Liangyou Died as a Result of Persecution
Ms. Yang Xianmei was a 35 year-old lady who lived in Gaojiageda Village, Jiangjiatun Township, Xuanhua County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. She began to cultivate Falun Gong in July 1998. Before practicing Falun Gong, she had colon cancer and even after going through surgery, the doctor said that she would live for another three years at most. However, through practicing Falun Gong, she became healthy again. Since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, the local police often harassed and threatened her. Over the years, such prolonged mental stress made her ill and she died in 2005.
Ms. Sun Aihua was a Falun Gong practitioner who lived in Sunjiazhuang Village, Miaohou Town, Qixia City, Shandong Province. In May 2003, she was arrested by Qixia City government personnel and taken to a brainwashing center. On her second day at the center, the physical showed that she was unfit and should not stay any longer. Thus, three policemen carried her home. A few months later, Ms. Sun Aihua died of illnesses, leaving behind a daughter (8 years old) and a son (9 years old).
Mr. Wu Liangyou was a Falun Gong practitioner from Maoxing Town, Zhaoyuan County, Heilongjiang Province. In November, 2000, he went to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to the Maoxing Town government. As a result, he was illegally detained and suffered both physically and mentally. This caused his old illnesses to recur and he died on August 6, 2003.

Baoji City, Shaanxi Province: Another Falun Gong Practitioner Died from Injustice
Mr. Ma Laidong was a Falun Gong practitioner who lived in Jiangyuan Village, Rougu Township, Fufeng County, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province. He was repeatedly persecuted and died in October 2004.
Before practicing Falun Gong, Mr. Ma suffered from many illnesses, and he was often lethargic. Therefore, he could not work, and when his illnesses became serious, he would become immobile. Although he often visited the hospital, his illnesses were not cured. Not even practicing qigong could cure his illnesses. However, after practicing Falun Gong, all his illnesses were gone and he felt light and full of energy.
From July 2001 to August 2002, Mr. Ma was repeatedly persecuted for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong as well as handing out truth clarifying materials to the public. He had been sent to detention centers and brainwashing centers, where he was cruelly tortured. After being released, he was often followed and monitored. They also forced him not to practice Falun Gong, thus his past illnesses recurred and he became extremely weak. He died in October 2004.

Six Elderly Practitioners Are Persecuted to Death
Mr. Lin Chengliu was a 72 year-old man who lived in Langzhong City, Sichuan Province. On Chinese New Year's Eve 2001, he was abducted from his home by local policemen Dong Youlong, Zheng Yong and Liu Peng. Then he was illegally detained in a local detention center. The local lawless officials and policemen in Langzhong City had severely persecuted up to twenty Falun Gong practitioners at that time. Mr. Lin's hypertension recurred after his persecution, and he died on April 5, 2005.
Ms. Zhu Zhengfang was an 88 year-old lady from Xuancheng District, Anhui Province. Before July 20, 1999, many Falun Gong practitioners went to her house to study the principles and do the exercises. Despite being an illiterate, she never failed to listen carefully when others were reading Zhuan Falun. Hence, she benefited both physically and mentally from Falun Gong. After the persecution began, she was often harassed and many of her family members who went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong were illegally detained. She was physically and mentally devastated by this. One day, she accidentally fell to the ground and has been ill ever since. The police used this opportunity to visit her once every few days, and would capture any Falun Gong practitioner who visited her. So her daughter could not visit her. Ms. Zhu Zhengfang did not say anything but cried everyday in bed. She died at 8 p.m. on December 31, 1999.
Ms. Li Cuiwen was an 87 year-old lady from Halahai Town, Nongan County, Jilin Province. After started to practice Falun Gong in 1997, all her diseases disappeared. However, since the persecution of Falun Gong started, she was often harassed. On a night in 2003, her son was illegally arrested and sent to a forced labor camp by the local county police. As a result, she suffered both physically and mentally, and even her daughter-in-law fell ill. They have had a hard life ever since. Ms. Li Cuiwen died on June 18, 2004.
Mr. Cai Guancheng was a 73 year-old retired worker from the First Construction Company of Beian City, Heilongjiang Province. He used to suffer from various illnesses until after practicing Falun Gong in 1996. Since the persecution began, he was repeatedly harassed and threatened by the local police. As he was afraid of being persecuted, he was forced to give up practicing Falun Gong. Soon, his past illnesses recurred and he even contracted cancer. With the help of other Falun Gong practitioners, he began to practice Falun Gong again. His body, however, was extremely weak due to the persecution and he died in the hospital on February 24, 2003.
Mr. Liu Yubin was a 72 year-old man who started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. Before practicing Falun Gong, he had many illnesses including inflammation of his liver. Since he started practicing, he no longer had any illnesses and he was very healthy. After the persecution began, he had no environment suitable for Fa-study and group exercise. This was worsened as he was illiterate, thus studying the Fa by himself was extremely difficult. After a while, his past illnesses recurred and he died on February 17, 2002.
Mr. Zhao Guangyu was a 70-year-old man (possibly from Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province) who started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. Before practicing Falun Gong, he suffered from many illnesses such as hepatitis and gallbladder stone. After practicing Falun Gong, all his illnesses miraculously disappeared, and he excreted the gallbladder stone. He became very healthy. However, after the persecution of Falun Gong by the Jiang Regime on July 20, 1999, the environment for group exercises and Fa-study was destroyed. Without this environment, his old illnesses recurred and he left this world in February 2004.

Ms. Luo Chunhua, 37 years old, was a resident of Liuyang City, Hunan Province. In June 2001 police officers from the Huaichuan Police Station in Liuyang City arrested her when she was sending out truth clarification materials about Falun Gong. At noon on June 30, during the inquest process, a policeman fiercely punched her on the back, immediately resulting in her vomiting blood and passing out. Later she was sentenced two years in jail where the injury to her back gradually got worse, and she vomited blood constantly. She was then transferred to the Liuyang City Hospital where, although her medical history never showed any tuberculosis, she was, nevertheless, treated as a tuberculosis patient. The hospital could not save her. Ms. Luo died in the winter of 2001. After she died, the 610 Office didn't allow her family to mourn for her. Her body was immediately cremated.
Mr. Zhang Yonghua, 73 years old, lived in Wenyang Village, Laiwu City, Shandong Province. After he practiced Falun Gong he quit drinking, a habit he had for over fifty years. He no longer needed to wear bifocals. Black hair also grew on his bald head. After Jiang's Regime started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, officers from the local police station and from the 610 office frequently harassed Mr. Zhang. In 2000 his five children went to Beijing to appeal. All of them were detained and persecuted. The police took this opportunity to extort money from Mr. Zhang. The policemen also searched his son's home and took away a truckload of copper coils that were used for repairing electric machinery. Head Liu Qing from the Political & Security Section handcuffed his second oldest daughter to a telegraph pole for half a day. They also extorted money from her. Later she was sentenced to three years of forced labor. She is still locked up in the No.1 Women's Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province. His third oldest daughter, who was locked up in detention centers twice and was sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp, is now free. His fourth oldest daughter was detained twice. With so much persecution to his family and so many threats, his healthy body deteriorated. After he heard that his two daughters were locked up in forced labor camps, he never got out of bed. Mr. Zhang died on November 10, 2002. He still didn't get to see his two daughters, even when he was on his deathbed.
Mr. Tian Yanwu, over 70 years old, was a resident of Heze, Shandong Province. After he started to practice Falun Gong his diseases such as hypertension immediately disappeared. Although he was already over 70 years old, he looked like he was only 60 years old. After July 20, 1999 officers from the town police station interrogated, beat and otherwise persecuted him, which made him unable to practice Falun Gong. His old illnesses recurred. Having no money for treatment, he became paralyzed and died in 2003.
Mr. Zhang Xiaoyuan, 56 years old, was a resident of Heze, Shandong Province. He started to practice Falun Gong in 1998. After only one month, all of his Hepatitis B symptoms disappeared and he became healthy. After July 20, 1999, he was persecuted both mentally and physically. Mr. Zhang died in the spring of 2001.
Ms. Wei Cuihua, 55 years old, was a villager in Dacao Village, Laiwu City, Shandong Province. After she started to practice Falun Gong in 1997, she had a huge change in both mind and body. After the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20, 1999, the police broke into her house to harass her family many times. She thus couldn't study the Fa and do the exercises normally, which resulted in her old illnesses recurring. Ms. Wei died on January 14, 2004.
Mr. Li Qiang, 71 years old, was a resident of Mazhang Town, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. Before he practiced Falun Gong he suffered from several diseases. Since he began practicing Falun Gong in 1999, he no longer had any illnesses and was very healthy. After July 20, 1999, officers from the local police station often came to his home to terrify him and to search his home. They detained his practitioner wife many times. Mr. Li felt very pained and sad because of the harassment and threats, which resulted in his old illnesses recurring. Mr. Li died on March 6, 2005.
Mr. Liang Munan, 66 years old, was a resident of Mazhang Town, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. Before he practiced Falun Gong he suffered from tracheitis, heart disease and other diseases and his condition was serious. However, he started practicing Falun Gong, became completely healthy and had a glowing face. The police locked Mr. Liang up at the local police station. Then they searched his home and confiscated all of his Falun Gong books. Because the police frequently harassed and terrified him to get him to quit practicing, all of his old illnesses recurred and he died on September 1, 2001.
Mr. Chen Quan, 56 years old, was a resident of Mazhang Town, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. In September and October of 1999, he was twice sent to forced labor camps and the police extorted 560 Yuan from him. Local police officers continually harassed him and severely harmed him both mentally and physically. After the 2000 Chinese New Year, he and fellow practitioners went to Beijing to appeal to the government to stop the persecution and all were arrested. When he was set free in the evening and just arrived home he was arrested again, together with his wife. The police extorted more than 3,000 Yuan from them. The police demanded that the whole family give up practicing. Chen Quan was persecuted so severely that he become mentally traumatized and jumped from a high building. Mr. Chen died on March 7, 2000.
Ms. Feng Yawen was a teacher from Hegang City's No. 18 high school, Heilongjiang Province. On New Year's Day 2003 she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. The police arrested and persecuted her to the point of her becoming mentally traumatized. After she returned home she jumped from a building but she didn't die. That same day she went to lie on the railway tracks and died.
Mr. Zhou Wei, 66 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner employed at the Yuquan Cable Plant, Acheng City, Heilongjiang Province. The Yuquan Police Department and the "610 Office" as well as the Security Section chief of the cable plant frequently harassed him. Under the high pressure of the persecution he contracted icterus. Later, the disease turned into liver cancer. Mr. Zhou died in 2000.
Ms. Zhang Yufang, 53 years old, was a resident of Hailun, Heilongjiang Province. She suffered from ovarian cancer in 1997 and spent over ten thousand Yuan in medical fees. She started to practice Falun Gong late in 1997. After two months of practicing her illness totally disappeared. After July 20, 1999, the police constantly harassed her. She felt physically and mentally exhausted and her old illness recurred. Ms. Zhang died on April 21, 2001.
Ms. Gao Yujuan, 83 years old, lived in Room 103, Gate 2, Building 1, the Nanchang Labors' Buildings, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. After she started practicing Falun Gong, all her illnesses healed. Her white hair turned black and she grew new teeth. After July 20, 1999, her second oldest daughter was arrested and sentenced to forced labor because she clarified the truth about Falun Gong. They didn't allow Ms. Gao to visit her daughter. The 610 Office and leaders from her daughter's workplace often harassed her. Ms Gao was severely mentally tormented. She died on January 3, 2003.
Ms. Zhang Yanying, 64 years old, was a resident of Luotun Town, Qianxi County, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. She suffered from severe emphysema. After she started to practice Falun Gong she recovered. After the began to persecute Falun Gong, Ms. Zhang was arrested and twice held in a detention center because she passed out Falun Gong truth clarification materials. In October 2002 Ms. Zhang was again arrested and sent to a brainwashing center to be tortured. Her body and mind were severely harmed. Ms. Zhang died on February 10, 2005.
Ms. Wang Junmei, 62 years old, was a practitioner from the Qiaodong District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. Before she obtained the Fa she suffered from heart disease, arthritis and many other illnesses. After she began to practice Falun Gong, all these illnesses disappeared. She introduced many people to Falun Gong and they became practitioners. After July 20, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal and was locked up in the Wuyilu Police Station in the Qiaodong District. Due to long-term mental torment and high pressure she got sick. Ms. Wang died on April 9, 2005.
Ms. Zhou Fenglian, 64 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Liaoning Province. She started to practice Falun Gong in 1996. In May 2002, Ms. Zhou was sent to a brainwashing center where she was inhumanly tortured. One month after being sent there, Ms. Zhou died on the way from the brainwashing center to a hospital for emergency care.
Ms. Chen Chunmei, 63 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner who lived in the Minhe Building, Zhanqian Street, Jinzhou District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. After July 20, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong and was locked up. After coming back, the local police station and some people from the community often went to her home to harass her. Because she was frightened and mentally tormented for a long period of time, Ms Chen died on July 21, 2003.
Mr. Zhang Guangxiao was a Falun Gong practitioner from Tonghua City, Jilin Province. He had symptoms of a stroke before and after he practiced Falun Gong. After July 20, 1999, Mr. Zhang's wife Ms. Liu Li was arrested and sentenced to a forced labor camp. This was a huge shock to him. His condition deteriorated and he eventually died.
Ms. Liu Huifen, about 70 years old, was a retired worker from the No. 348 Plant, a state-owned enterprise in Pi County, Sichuan Province. After she started practicing Falun Gong, she became very healthy. After July 20, 1999, the police often threatened her. They forced her to hand over her Falun Gong books and write a Guarantee Statement against her will. They even asked her son-in-law to pressure and monitor her. Ms. Liu couldn't study the Fa and do the exercises normally. Her spirit was also heavily damaged. Beginning in 2001 she started to feel uncomfortable. Her condition deteriorated and Ms. Liu died in the middle of February 2005.
Mr. Gong Haoran, 65 years old, was an employee of City Planning Committee in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. He was paralyzed from a stroke. After he left the hospital in 1997, he started to practice Falun Gong. Through studying the Fa and doing the exercises, his condition improved. After the persecution started in 1999, his wife persisted in practicing and was sentenced to two-years of forced labor. He thus had nobody to take care of him. At the same time he was also severely frightened and felt persecuted. His health deteriorated. When he was in emergency care one month prior to his death, they still wouldn't allow his wife to take care of him. They didn't permit his wife to see him even after his death. Mr. Gong died as a result of the persecution on December 26, 2004.
1. [Heilongjiang Province] Mrs. Liu Yanqin Brutally Tortured at Daqing Detention Center
An investigation has revealed that Mrs. Liu Yanqin, who has been missing since April 23, 2005, from Xibin Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, was arrested by police and is being held in room 407 at the Daqing Detention Center. She started a hunger strike to protest her illegal abduction. One of her legs was disabled after the brutal torture.
Daqing Detention Center is where Mrs. Yang Yuhua died of barbaric force-feeding on the morning of May 9, 2005.

2. [Datong, Shanxi Province) Mrs. Ma Cuiying and Mrs. Huo Huiru Were Abducted
The police abducted Mrs. Ma Cuiying and Mrs. Huo Huiru around 9:00 a.m. on April 30, 2005.
3. [Heilongjiang Province] Sisters Kan Xiumei and Kan Xiujuan Were Taken Away by Chuangxin Station Police
On May 17, 2005, around 9:00 a.m., police from the Chuangxin Station came to Ms. Kan Xiumei's residence. She and her sister Ms. Kan Xiujuan were home at the time and would not open the door. The police climbed up three floors, broke in through a balcony window, and destroyed their front door. The sisters were arrested and taken away around 11:00 a.m. The police ransacked their house and confiscated their computer and Falun Gong materials. A large number of people were outside watching, and they all condemned the police action. They also stated, "The world is upside down."
4. [Shuang City, Heilongjiang Province] 610 Office Thugs and Police Arrested Falun Gong Practitioners
On May 13, 2005, around 8:30 a.m., Director Kong Qingman of the Lequn Township Police Station, along with two police chiefs and 20 other policemen, came to Guanghua Village, where they were guided by the village director Zhao Chunxi in arresting Mr. Liu Quanfu and other practitioners. On December 8, 2004, someone reported that there were twenty-four practitioners from Guanghua Village, Lequn Township, clarifying the truth door to door. The police, using a list from their report, went from one practitioner's home to another and arrested them. They ransacked six homes and confiscated many Falun Gong books.
Those arrested included: Mr. Liu Quanfu, age 72; Mrs. Zhang Naiqiu, age 69; Mrs. Zhang Dan, 32, who obtained Falun Gong eight months ago; Mrs. Liu Shouhua, 45, who obtained Falun Gong one year ago; Mrs. Su Hongwei, 35, who obtained Falun Gong one year ago; Mrs. Liu Shufang, 69, who has practiced for nine years; and Mr. Zhang Zhenqin, 49, who obtained Falun Gong six months ago and recovered from diabetes after he started practicing. His wife left him recently, leaving him with a ten-year-old daughter at home. Mr. Liu Quanfu was released after the interrogation. The Detention Center demands a twenty yuan visiting fee before allowing family visits.

Ms. Yan Yuanrong lives at 19-1-10, Yiminyuan, Wangzhong Xiaoqu. She was arrested at night on May 9, 2005, while distributing "truth clarification" material. She is being held in the Pi County Detention Center. On May 17, 2005, Yang Bin from the police station, along with the people from the Residents' Committee, ransacked her house.
6. [Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province] 610 Office Refuses to Release Ms. Hao Qiuyan Who Is Extremely Weak
Ms. Hao Qiuyan was arrested around 6:00 a.m. on January 17, 2005, from her home. The police from the Hedong Station have held her in a brainwashing center in Hebei Province for almost four months. She never stopped writing her appeal. She started a hunger strike at the beginning of March to protest her illegal detention. Two months had passed, and, since she has only taken a little liquid daily, she is now a mere skeleton and extremely weak. She cannot go to the restroom without someone to support her. Even though she is in this condition, the 610 Office still refuses to release her and still intends to try to "transform" her.
Ms. Hao Qiuyan's family is unable to live a normal life. Her husband, after spending three years in a labor camp, had his sentence extended three additional years. Her father-in-law is 76 years old and has diabetes. Her mother-in-law is 74 years old and had triple by-pass heart surgery. This elderly couple is running in between the labor camp and the so-called "Legal Education Center" to visit their son and daughter-in-law. Ms. Hao's son is only six years old and has already lost the care of both parents. He frequently cries quietly under his quilt.

7. [Hebei Province] Instructor Ms. Zhang Lishan from the Physics Department in Teacher's University Hebei Province Was Arrested
On April 22, 2005, Ms. Zhang Lishan, an instructor from the Physics Department in the Hebei Normal University was arrested while distributing truth clarification material. The police raided her house and confiscated her computer. She was fired from the university on April 28 and sent to a brainwashing center for torture. Her husband, Mr. Zhen Hongjie, who worked for the provincial government was also arrested and fired by his employer.
In November 2004, Ms. Deng Meizhen from the Public Management Institute was followed after she mailed a box at the post office. On April 4, 2005, she was kicked out of the CCP. She kept her position but remains under supervision for one year.

On May 12 2005, Ms. Yuan Ting from Haerbin City was arrested by officials from the the Daoli District 610 Office while distributing truth-clarifications flyers.

On May 13, 2005, police arrested Ms. Sun Dongxia. They also arrested two other practitioners, who were held 12 and 24 hours respectively before being released. Ms. Sun Dongxia has been illegally sentenced to ten years.

On May 16, 2005, security officers from the work unit of Mr. Geng Huaiqing and Ms. Yang Shuhua made up excuses of helping them to find jobs or start a new business. They succeed in tricking the practitioners to go with them to the police station, where the practitioners were arrested and subsequently transferred to the brainwashing center in Taixing.
Mr. Geng Huaiqing, whose wife, Shi Zhongling, already died of torture at the 610 Office brainwashing class in Suining, and Ms. Yang Shuhua have already been transferred to the brainwashing center in Jiangsu Province. They both left young children at home with no one to care for them.
12. [Tianjin] The Situation of Mrs. Fei Jianying
Mrs. Fei Jianying is 52 and lives on the 5th floor, Unit 4 of Hongguangdalou, Xiahequan, Hexi District, Tianjin. On May 13, 2005, police from the Hexi District Huidui Police Station arrested her. Her whereabouts are unknown. The police confiscated her computer, printer and some truth clarification materials.
13. [Heilongjiang Province] Fangzheng County Court Intends to Illegally Sentence Mr. Wang Zhige to Twelve Years
Mr. Wang Zhige once gave a truth clarification DVD to the brother of Wen Hongbing, Wen Honging happens to be the deputy director of the state security section at the Public Department. From then on, Wen Hongbing started following and monitoring Mr. Wang Zhige.
On March 27, 2005, Wen Hongbing arrested Mr. Wang, when he returned to Fangzheng County, and sent him to the First Detention Center in Fangzheng County. Wen Hongbing, along with policeman Chou Yongsheng and others, brutally beat Mr. Wang the same day he was arrested. They dislocated his spine, blinded his left eye, and disabled his left arm. Mr. Wang has been on a hunger strike for over 30 days. He was force-fed once and was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment for over four hours. He is extremely weak. His family has asked for his release to obtain medical treatment but was adamantly refused by the director of the bureau, Zhao Jiaqi. Fangzheng Court is attempting to illegally sentence him to 12 years.

On May 13, 2005, the of World Falun Gong Day, 610 Office police from Shenzhou City, headed by Jia Shuangwan, arrested Wang Yunzhe and Xiao Su in the middle of the night. The detention center is illegally holding six practitioners.

On May 11, 2005, around 1:00 p.m., police from the Shuning County Public Security Bureau broke into Ms. Xiao Kun's home, which is located in Shangchun Township, Nai Village. They arrested Ms. Xiao and her son along with Ms. Liu Shulan from Yuanzuo Village, confiscated their computer, cash, and a bankcard. Ms. Xiao Kun was released the same day.

On the afternoon of May 8, 2005, homeless Falun Gong practitioners Xiaowei (alias) and Xiaojun (alias) went to a furniture factory of Yalan Corporation in Nanyang City for a job interview. Xiaowei and Xiaojun arrived at the factory at around 3 pm. While they were being interviewed by Bi Wenxiang in his office, police surrounded the factory. Soon more than a hundred policemen, including several cars of armed police troops surrounded the factory. They arrested three Falun Gong practitioners, who are right now being detained in the Shangzhuang Detention Center of Nanyang City.

At noon on May 22, 2005, the Fengyutan Police Station of Shenhe District, Shenyang City ransacked a practitioner's home. [Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ao Yongjie Arrested by the Local Police Office and State Security Bureau
On the morning of May 20, 2005, the local state security team captain Wang Quan and ten other policemen went to Ao Yongjie's house. They said they wanted to talk to Mr. Ao and his wife, and asked them to open the door. When Mr. Ao refused to open the door, Wan Quan and others stayed in front of the door and did not leave. At around 7:30, Ao Yongjie told the policemen to leave first and then he would go to the police station. After a while, the policemen also asked Liu Guimei, Ao's wife, to go to the police station. When she refused, five or six of them stayed in front of Ao's house and continued to call Ao's house until 1 pm. In the evening, Ao Yongjie's daughter went to the police station, asking the police to release her father. The policemen replied that Ao had already been sent to Wulanhaote City.

[Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Hu Jinfeng and Li Laifang Arrested
Between 9 a.m. and noon on May 13, 2005, Hu Jinfeng and Li Laifang from Dingxing county of Baoding City, Hebei Province visited Ms. Niu Huimin. This was reported to the local residence management committee. Soon after that, the state security section of the police office sent Zhan Jun, Jia Qingchuan, Li Min and others to arrest Hu Jinfeng and Li Laifang. They attacked the practitioners and beat Li Laifang down to the ground. In the detention center, Hu Jinfeng and Li Laifang went on a hunger strike to protest their illegal arrest. On the fourth day after they were arrested, policemen sent Hu Jinfeng to the Baoding City Labor Camp without going through any legal procedure or informing his family. On the fifth day, they sent Li Laifang to a labor camp. Because Li Laifang's health condition was poor, the labor camp refused to accept her. She was then sent back to the detention center, but they also did not want to accept her, so they had to inform Li's relatives to take her back home. On the sixth day, the Baoding City Police Office sent several policemen to search Li Laifang's house. Currently Li Laifang has been forced to leave home and go from place to place to avoid further persecution.

Mr. Liu Dapeng was a volunteer assistant at Shulan City's practice site. After July 20, 1999, he was sentenced to seven years. His elder sister Liu Shuanghui was sentenced to eleven years. [Chongqing City] Police Arrest Huang Shanhua in Shuangqiao District Again
Ms. Huang Shanhua used to be the Deputy Director of the employee hospital of Shuangqiao District Heavy Truck Factory. She started to practice Falun Gong in 1998, and she went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in 1999 and 2000. From 2000 to 2002, she was put into the Beijing Women's Prison and tortured badly, which caused blindness in both of her eyes. After she was released, Huang Shanhua continued to practice Falun Gong and recovered her eyesight.
In mid-April of 2005, when Huang Shanhua went back to Shuangqiao District from Chongqing City, she was searched all over her body by policemen from the Shuangqiao District 610 Office. Although the policemen did not find anything, they still arrested her. Currently no one knows where she is being held.

On the morning of April 14, 2005, police from the Xinji City 610 Office, led by Geng Chao, went to Pengliuzuo Village and Tianzhuang Village of Xinji City. They arrested Zhang Tongyi and Li Ergai (husband and wife) and ransacked their home.

[Jilin Province] The Persecution of Yang Mingli's Family
Mr. Yang Mingli, 50 years old, used to work at the Jilin Shuangyang Concrete Factory. He was arrested in December 2004 for practicing Falun Gong. Right now he is being held at the Weizigou Labor Camp in Changchun City. He was tortured at the labor camp, and he is exhibiting the symptoms of anasarca, renal failure and uremia. He would have blood in his urine whenever he ingested food with salt in it. His wife Ms. Lan Yaqin was also held at the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp. Their son is also a Falun Gong practitioner, and he is currently missing.

[Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Meng Qingying Forcefully Arrested Again
On the evening of April 17, 2005, police arrested Ms. Meng Qingying (over 50 years old), tortured her and then sent her to a detention center. On April 21, they released her after extorting 3,000 Yuan from her daughter. At that time, the police were afraid that Meng Qingying would be paralyzed after they tortured her, so after extorting the money, they released her. After Meng Qingying was released, she recovered very quickly. While her daughter was giving birth and she was assisting on May 14, 2005, plainclothes police came to her home again. They forcefully dragged her to their vehicle and took her away. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.

Brutal persecution cases of Falun Gong practitioners at the Gansu Province No. 1 Forced Labor Camp
Falun Gong practitioner Chen Gang is near heart failure due to persecution from the perpetrators. Between May 2004 and June 2004, they permitted Chen Gang only three hours of sleep per day. During the daytime they forced him to do intensive military training.
At the end of 2004, the perpetrators tortured practitioner Cui Yonglin, and Chen Gang held a hunger strike to protest the persecution. After eight days on hunger strike, Chen Gang was at the brink of death and was sent to the labor camp hospital. He was held beyond his term.
Practitioner Cui Yonglin broke out of the labor camp and brainwashing class with the power of righteous thoughts. He was arrested when working as a contractor in the southern part of China and sent to forced labor for the second time. In August 2004, the perpetrators handcuffed him to a bed rail. In the evening of October 1, 2004, the perpetrators brutally beat Cui Yonglin, causing him to bleed profusely. They held him in solitary confinement for more than ten days and later extended his sentence by three months. In late 2004 they again detained Cui Yonglin in solitary confinement for over ten days. His hands were severely injured and nearly disabled from long-term handcuffing.
Practitioner Si Yongqian suffered a mental breakdown from savage torture. In April 2004, the perpetrators handcuffed him to the bedrail for three days, and they un-cuffed him only when he had a non-stop nose bleed. In June they locked him in solitary confinement, where they spread his arms and handcuffed him to the bedrail until the handcuffs cut into his wrists and his feet swelled up so severely he could not walk. His sentence was extended by more than three months. He was allowed to sleep for only a small amount of time each day and he remained in a trance.
Practitioner Bai Guixiang had his hands cuffed behind his back for four months, during which time he was forced to stand and was not allowed to sleep. On the evening of April 1, 2005, the perpetrators verbally abused and beat practitioner Bai Guixiang.
In March 2005, the perpetrators beat practitioner Jing Zhanchun and held him in solitary confinement for ten days.
In February 2004, practitioner Chai Qiang was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor. He was not allowed to sleep and was handcuffed. He was tortured for four days and four nights.
In 2002, drug addicts beat practitioner Ma Yuefen and injured her calves. The police didn't allow her to see a doctor, and as a result she became crippled.
Practitioner Zhang Xuehong was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. About nine months after his term had expired, the local police arrested and detained him in a detention center for eight months. Later, they sentenced him to three years of forced labor.
Practitioner Bao Rongtai, 60 years old, was arrested along with his 51-year-old wife Wang Maohua when they were distributing truth clarification materials in Wen County, Gansu Province. They were sentenced to three years of forced labor.

The perpetrators at this group are the most vicious. They use all kinds of methods to torture the practitioners and use a "closed-in" approach to isolate practitioners from outside world. In the past year, the practitioners that were held here include Yang Yongming, Yang Jiuhe and Zhang Xuehong from Tibetan Autonomic Region of southern Gansu Province; Cao Qiang, Pu Jianping, Bao Rongtai, and Zhao Yongyu from southern Gansu Province; Liu Yaokui, Liu Yonghong and Si Yongqian from Pingliang area; Chen Gang and Wang Youquan from Tianshui City; Yang Weicheng and Mao Yanlu from Qingyang City; Zhang Ming and Wang Wenqi from Dingxi City; Liu Ruxing from Longxi County; Ma Zufu, Cui Yonglin, Feng Xinghu, Zhan Tingli and Xu Chengsheng from Baiyin City; Zhang Fuchang, Lou Zhongming, Duan Chengyuan, Wang Wenliang, Li Ziqiang, and Feng Yongyan from Linxia Hui Autonomic Region; Chai Qiang, Bai Guixiang, Zhang Jihong, Ning Gang, Song Changyun and Yu Jihai from Lanzhou City; Ma Zhongwen and He Gejun from Zhangye City; Ma Shengzhong from Wuwei City; Ma Yuefen, Wang Shukun, Yang Xiaochuan, Chen Xuzhong, Mao Peifu and Wang Yufu from Jinchang City; Pang Xiaolong and Jing Zhanchun from Jiuquan City and Dong Xuezhou and Li Xueyuan from Jiayuguan City.
