The Facts of the Persecution of Falun Gong -- December 9, 2005

 The guards at Jinzhou City Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province are torturing Falun Gong practitioners by force-feeding them with feces, stuffing their mouths with a wire bit (as on a horse bridle) and inciting criminal prisoners to brutally abuse them. The director has ordered the deprivation of all visits to Falun Gong practitioners in attempts to prevent the labor camp's crimes from being exposed to the world.

The "bit" is a method of torture used at Jinzhou City Forced Labor Camp. To prevent practitioners from shouting "Falun Dafa is good!" the police invented a new torture instrument called "the bit." It works by encircling the practitioner's head or neck with a heavy-gauge metal wire loop and then inserting a wire end into the practitioner's mouth. The perpetrators then place this wire-end down the practitioner's throat. Then they use a string to tie the wire enclosure to the back of the head, securing it into position. Shortly after being subjected to this kind of torture, the "gag reflex" is triggered, and the victims experience sudden, extreme nausea.

Below is an example of the persecution that occurred in 2005 at Jinzhou City Forced Labor Camp:

By the end of the 2005 Chinese New Year on February 9, labor camp guards had brutally beaten Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Chai Lianbao and Mr. Luo Hongdong for three entire days for refusing to give up their faith in Falun Gong. The guards constructed two "bits" with the wire that had previously been used to unblock the toilets, and forcibly inserted the wire-ends into the practitioners' mouths. The practitioners are still being subjected to severe torture, even now.

In April 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Qi Mingli was beaten for three days for practicing the Falun Gong exercises. Then the guards cuffed his hands to a metal frame behind the back, and forced him to remain standing for a long period of time. He got scabies all over his body as a result of the inhuman treatment. The guards directed other prisoners to pour water over his body, which made the scabies even worse. He has been forced to sit in the tiny cell for ten hours per day without being allowed to move. When Mr. Qi Mingli entered the Camp, he weighed 200 pounds, but he now weighs only 110 pounds.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Guo Wei has also been tied to a metal frame for three straight days.

The guards openly told the prisoners that they were permitted to beat Falun Gong practitioners without incurring responsibility for any consequences. For each Falun Gong practitioner that a prisoner helped to successfully brainwash, his term would be reduced by ten days. Consequently, prisoners often force-feed chili water to Falun Gong practitioners who have refused to accept the brainwashing, pinching the practitioners' noses hard while doing so. When they force-feed Falun Gong practitioners, they add more than one pound of salt into the water; sometimes they also add human feces.

The CCP-controlled Hebei Province 610 Office continues to harm innocent victims in brainwashing sessions conducted at the Hebei Province Brainwashing Center.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yue Yang was arrested in September 2005. He is an employee of the Tannan Street Neighborhood Administration in the Chang'an District, Shijiazhuang City. He has firmly rejected brainwashing at the center by refusing to write a statement regretting his Falun Gong practice.

Practitioner Ms. Mi Xiaozheng, from Shijiazhuang City, is a former college student in her twenties at Chongqing City University, residing at 4-6-203 Tengfei Garden, Jinma Neighborhood, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. She was forced to quit school and leave her home to avoid being arrested because she was determined to continue cultivating Falun Gong. In April 2005, she was taken to the brainwashing center where she has started a hunger strike that is still ongoing.

Ms. Mi Xiaozheng's mother, Qiao Wenying, was deceived by the lies and fabrications of the CCP and was left with no choice but to pay for the brainwashing center "tuition." She even stays at the center and "helps" with the sessions. In addition, we received information that Ms. Qiao's sister, Ms. Mi Xiaozheng's aunt, who works for the government, is also deeply poisoned by the CCP and is working to help the brainwashing center.

Practitioner Ms. Wang Ruo'e was taken from her home and brought to the brainwashing center on September 6, 2005. Although she is quite elderly and already in her seventies, the authorities did not allow her to get a proper amount of sleep and forced her to write the three statements. Against her will, she signed the three statements, when she could no longer bear the physical torture. The next day she became very depressed about what she had done and tore up the document, declaring that she refused to be brainwashed. Ms. Wang Ruo'e has still not been released.

On September 6, 2005, another practitioner in her thirties was also taken to this center. She has firmly resisted brainwashing for more than 70 days now.

In Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, former police Chief Dong Jianmin, current police Chief Liu Jun and others of Hongqilou Police Station brutally persecute Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners. Additionally, police Chief Deng Jianming of Wuyi Road Police Station, Secretary Wang Shutian of Wuyi Road Community Office, Deputy Secretary Chang Xiaoqing and Director Zhang Jun, actively persecute practitioners. They illegally search practitioners' homes, impose fines, order illegal surveillance, seize practitioners' personal property, extort money, beat, "hang-up," torture, interrogate with torture, illegally detain practitioners, and send practitioners to forced labor camps, brainwashing centers, and prisons.

1) Persecution Suffered by Practitioner Wang Huai

At the beginning of January 2001, Wang Huai borrowed some money and bought a small photocopier. After less than two months, the Hongqilou Police arrested Wang Huai with surveillance gained through phone tapping and other illegal measures. They sentenced him to seven years and sent him to Zhangjiakou Prison. Wang Huai's wife was sent to Qiaodong Party School for forced brainwashing. She was released after suffering inhuman torment and being extorted 1100 yuan.

2) Persecution Suffered by Practitioner Ms. Wang Xiu

Ms. Wang Xiu went to Tiananmen Square to appeal for the justice for Falun Gong on October 6, 2000. She was arrested and taken to Chongli County Detention Center by Hongqilou Police Station. Ms. Wang was detained there for 15 days. On November 2, 2000, Wang Xiu was forcibly transferred to Tangshan No. 1 Women's Forced Labor Camp and jailed there until the Chinese New Year in 2001.

One day in April 2001, policemen from Hongqilou Police Station illegally arrested Wang Xiu, her husband, her sister-in-law, Xiumei, and two other people, and held them at a detention center. Wang Xiu was detained at Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp in Baoding City for 21 months. She was not released until January 26, 2003.

3) Persecution Suffered by Practitioner Wang Zhong

On September 1, 2001, Falun Gong practitioner Wang Zhong went to "the two offices" (1) to present the true situation of Falun Gong, but was arrested and extorted 5000 yuan by Hongqilou Police . Wang Zhong went to Beijing to appeal for the justice for Falun Gong again in October 2001, and was held for 14 days at Shisanli Detention Center and extorted 10,000 yuan.

4) Persecution Suffered by Practitioner Ms. Gao Yuzhen

In April 2000, Hongqilou Police Station illegally arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gao Yuzhen, who was practicing Falun Gong exercises in a small park at the time. The police sent her to Shisanli Detention Center where she was force-fed. They even demanded 50 yuan each time for force-feeding. Later, Ms. Gao went to Beijing to appeal, but she was arrested by police officers in Beijing. Hongqilou Police Station detained her for 15 days and extorted 1000 yuan from her workplace.

In October 2000, Gao Yuzhen was seized by police at Tiananmen Square without cause while she was sitting on the square. She was later sentenced to three years in prison. She was force-fed many times, and finally released when she weighed only 35 kg (about 70 lb), and was severely emaciated from the torture.

5) Persecution Suffered by Practitioner Mei Junkun

Falun Gong practitioner Mei Junkun went to appeal at Tiananmen Square in December 2000. Mei was detained for more than 20 days and extorted for over 10,000 yuan. Hongqilou Police Station also threatened and forced Mei Junkun's family to pay 200 yuan. They later extorted 5000 yuan as bail money. The police extorted over 17,000 yuan in total, including for so-called "meal expenses" incurred while in the detention center. Mei's family became penniless due to the extortion from the government and police officers and was even unable to afford their child's school fees.

6) The Persecution Suffered by another Practitioner (name unknown)

A Falun Gong practitioner went to Beijing to appeal on December 31, 2000, and was arrested. Hongqilou Community Office Secretary Jia Yong confiscated the practitioner's 50 yuan. The practitioner was forced to sit on the tiger bench and was held for three days. Police Chief He of the local police station extorted the practitioner's family 3000 yuan. In addition, Hongqilou Community Office led seven to eight people to the practitioner's home. They then rushed into the home and confiscated the refrigerator, TV and other belongings. Hongqilou Community Office's 610 Office personnel, Deng, Lu, Wang and others, harassed the practitioner at his home during the day. On April 14, 2001, Hongqilou Police Station Chief Dong Jianmin sent people to wait around the practitioner's home and then four people seized the practitioner and took him/her to the local police station. This practitioner was detained for 102 days at Xuanhua Detention Center. Since then, whenever there are sensitive dates where the government is afraid of public complaints, unlawful personnel monitor and harass the practitioner.

1) Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Sun Yumei Suffers Persecution

Ms. Sun Yumei, 55, is a worker at Zhangjiakou City Coal Machine Factory. In June 2000, the Wuyi Road Police arrested Sun Yumei at home, and detained her at Shisanli Detention Center for 15 days. On October 27, 2000, Sun Yumei, her husband Chen Xue, and other practitioners went to Beijing to appeal for the justice for Falun Gong. After being detained for over 60 days, Sun Yumei's entire body became swollen due to repeated torture. Detention center authorities tried to carry Ms. Sun into a forced labor camp, but she was rejected by the forced labor camp a few days later due to poor health. After she went home, Deng Jianmin from Wuyi Road Police Station and an officer from Wuyi Road Community Office, paying no attention to Sun Yumei's life or death condition, again sent her to Shisanli Detention Center. She was picked up by her family when she was near death. At the end of September 2001, it was said that the police would arrest practitioners again, so Sun Yumei was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. Having suffered persecution numerous times and her body being seriously injured, Sun Yumei became critically ill. She died on October 25 in Yutian County, Hebei Province.

2) Falun Gong Practitioners Ms. Bai Junjie, Ms. Zhang Zhongli and Ms. Fang Xiuzhen Suffer Persecution

Around 10 p.m. on February 18, 2000, Deng Jianmin, Li Yingbin and other police officers from Wuyi Road Police Station illegally arrested Falun Gong practitioners residing in their jurisdiction, including Ms. Bai Junjie, Ms. Zhang Zhongli, Ms. Fang Xiuzhen and Ms. Pang. They detained the practitioners at the Wuyi Road Community Office for one day and two nights, deprived them of sleep, forced them to stand and attempted to force them to write a guarantee statement. Later they were transferred to the Wuyi Road Police Station, where the police chief, named Deng Jianming, ordered others to strip the practitioners down to their underclothes, cuff their hands together and then cuff one hand in the garage out in the courtyard. In the cold sub-zero temperatures, they were cuffed and hung up for five to six hours. They were later sent to a detention center for one and a half months. They were released when their lives were in danger due to extended hunger strikes.

3) Falun Gong Practitioners Ms. Cao Guilian, Ms. Zhang Zhihua, and Ms. Feng Suqin Suffer Persecution

On February 16, 2000, three female Falun Gong practitioners named Cao Guilian, Zhang Zhihua and Feng Suqin went to Beijing National Appeals Bureau to present the truth of Falun Gong, but instead of receiving the practitioners' appeal the authorities sent them to Wuyi Road Police Station that night. Police Chief Deng Jianming inhumanely tortured them for the entire night. Wuyi Road Community Office Secretary Wang Shutian and Director Zhang Jun forcibly pulled off Cao Guilian's pants and underpants. Wang Shutian then took off his shoes and used them to ruthlessly whip Ms. Cao's buttocks and thighs. He stopped only after his shoes were broken. Wang Shutian and Zhang Jun again pulled off Ms. Cao's pants that she had already pulled up. Wang Shutian then grabbed her hair and pressed her head onto the floor and Zhang Jun brought in a basin of water, dipped a washboard into the water and fiercely hit her with it. Ms. Cao's buttocks and thighs instantly bled under the skin. These animals did not stop until dawn. The other two female practitioners also suffered the same types of torture until after dawn. They were then sent to a detention center, where they suffered another 45 days of inhuman torment.

4) Zhang Zhongli and 12 Falun Gong Practitioners Suffer Persecution

On October 24, 2000, thirteen practitioners of Zhangjiakou City collectively appealed in Beijing and were arrested. Under the command of Yan Zhiyou, the police chief of Qiaodong District Police Department Ma Fuwei, and Wuyi Road Police Station Chief Deng Jianming, led Li Yingbin and others to brutally torture Falun Gong practitioners. They deprived practitioners of sleep for more than a week, forced them to sit on the "tiger bench" day and night and interrogated them with torture. Deng Jianming kicked Zhang Zhongli with his boots. Due to the brutal punching and kicking, Zhang Zhongli's waist and thighs suffered severe internal injuries, and he was unable to walk for more than ten days.

5) Falun Gong Practitioners Ms. Wang Suhong and Ms. Wang Junmei Suffer Persecution

Ms. Wang Suhong is a professor at Hebei Construction Institute, which is in the jurisdiction of Wuyi Road Police Station. On February 19, 2002, she and her colleague Ms. Wang Junmei went to Beijing to appeal. They were arrested at Tiananmen Square and sent back to Wuyi Road Police Station. These two elderly practitioners (over 60 years old), were cuffed to a bicycle shed out in the yard and later detained at a detention center for 43 days. Wang Junmei was extorted for more than 6000 yuan.

6) Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Yuan Po Suffers Persecution

Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Yuan Po of Zhangjiakou Medical Institute was sentenced to two years of forced labor by the Wuyi Road Police for posting two Falun Gong truth-clarification materials in the yard. She was sent to Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp for persecution. Ms. Yuan Po's family suffered greatly as her daughter lost her mom and her husband lost his wife.

7) Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Guo Guiyuan Suffers Persecution

Ms. Guo Guiyuan, a retired worker of City General Department Store has been to Beijing five times to appeal for Falun Gong. She was arrested four times, sent to a forced labor camp, detained for 90 days and illegally fined 19,000 yuan. Therefore, her entire family suffered hardship. After the first arrest, she was cuffed and hung up in the air for four to five hours in the freezing cold at Wuyi Road Police Station. Afterwards, her right hand could not open up and her arm was numb. She could not write a single word for more than half a year. She was detained at Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp for one and a half years - from December 25, 2000, to May 17, 2002. When she returned, she was very emaciated due to the torture. The four years of persecution caused her severe physical suffering.

8) Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Fang Xiuzhen Suffers Persecution

On November 17, 2000, Deng Jianming, Li Yingbin and others rushed into Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Fang Xiuzhen's home, illegally arrested her, took her to Xuanhua Detention Center, and later sent her to a forced labor camp. After half a year, Ms. Fang was released from the forced labor camp. At that time she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and became disabled.

9) Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Cui Xinxiang Suffers Persecution

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Cui Xinxiang has been to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and Teacher many times. Wuyi Road Police Station ransacked her home many times and sent her to forced labor twice. At the end of December 2003, she was sent to Zhangjiakou City Brainwashing Center, where she suffered barbaric force-feeding twice. The evildoers secretly added unknown drugs to her meal, causing her to have abnormal physical symptoms. At the same time, her whole body became swollen, she lost the capability to take care of herself, and soon her life was in danger. The brainwashing center was afraid to take responsibility for her death, so they extorted money from her and let her go home on May 29, 2004.

10) Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Liu Liying Suffers Persecution

Ms. Liu Liying has appealed in Beijing twice, was escorted back by Wuyi Road Police Station twice and sent to a detention center.

On the night of October 23, 2000, Wuyi Road Community Office Deputy-secretary Chang Xiaoqing and several policemen rushed into Ms. Liu's home, took her to a brainwashing center, and held her at Wuyi Road Community Office for eight days before releasing her on October 31. Unexpectedly at 7 a.m. the next morning, three policemen from Wuyi Road Police Station again rushed into her home and took her directly to Tangshan No. 1 Forced Labor Camp. Sixty year-old Liu Liying was then illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor.

11) Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Wang Ailing Suffers Persecution

On October 6, 2000, Wuyi Road Community Office deputy secretary Chang Xiaoqing and a plainclothes police officer arrested Ms. Wang Ailing and another male practitioner from Qiaoxi District with the excuse that they were "looking familiar." They had only been sitting on the sidewalk on the south side of Beijing People's Great Hall. The male practitioner was detained for two months and sentenced to three years of forced labor, while Wang Ailing was detained for a month. She conducted a hunger strike and was rejected by the forced labor camp. Due to further torture, Wang Ailing died in May 2002.

12) Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Ji Xiumei Suffers Persecution

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ji Xiumei was arrested when she was distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification material in residential buildings within the jurisdiction of Wuyi Road. Wuyi Road Police Station detained her at Xuanhua Detention Center for more than 100 days. They later transferred her to Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp for two years of forced labor.

13) Falun Gong Practitioners Ms. Bai Junjie and Others Suffer Persecution

On September 2, 1999, Ms. Bai Junjie and some other practitioners practiced Falun Gong exercises together in Zhangjiakou City Park. Wuyi Road Police Station's police chief Deng Jianmin led people to send her to Shisanli Detention Center, held her for 10 days and extorted 200 yuan. She has been arrested many times since 1999.

After 11 p.m. on February 18, 2000, Cheng Heli and three policemen from Wuyi Road Police Station rushed into Bai Junjie's home. They illegally arrested her and another practitioner to Wuyi Road Police Station. The police threatened and interrogated them with torture, and later sent them to Shisanli Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

On October 24, 2000, Ms. Bai was again detained at Shisanli Detention Center for 49 days. The police from Qiaodong District Police Department, along with the medical staff of the No. 3 Hospital, cruelly force-fed Ms. Bai nine times. During the force-feeding, six men pressed down her head, feet and arms, and pinched her nose at the same time. They forcefully inserted a tube as wide as a little finger into her nose and caused her to vomit blood. Her chest was so painful that she could not even stand straight.

On February 9, 2002, Wuyi Road Police Station police chief Deng Jianmin issued an order to arrest Ms. Bai's daughter and son-in-law. They then sent them to Shisanli Detention Center. While they were illegally detained, Bai Junjie's family was successively extorted more than 180,000 yuan in total by unlawful personnel from the public judiciary and legal system.

On January 28, 2005, Wuyi Road Police Station seized Bai Junjie and held her at Shisanli Detention Center. On February 17, Qiaodong Court of Zhangjiakou City sentenced Bai Junjie, whose mind was already unclear due to the persecution, to seven years in prison

14) Falun Gong Practitioner Zhang Zhongli Suffers Persecution

On October 25, 2000, Zhang Zhongli went to Beijing to appeal for the justice for Falun Gong, but was held up by Wuyi Road Police Station, and later sent to Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp. Zhang Zhongli suffered all sorts of torture and humiliation but eventually escaped.

15) Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Wang Lihua Suffers Persecution

On February 17, 2000, Ms. Wang Lihua went to Beijing to appeal for the justice for Falun Gong with fellow practitioners. As soon as they arrived at Tiananmen Square, they were arrested by police in Beijing, and later sent to Wuyi Road Community Office in Zhangjiakou City. Policeman Deng Jianmin took Wang Lihua into a room on the second floor of the police station. He pushed her body underneath the stool with her head sticking out. He then fiercely whipped her buttocks with a rubber club. Ma Zhu and other policemen kicked and stepped on Ms. Wang's buttocks with their leather boots at will. They also fondled her buttocks. The torture lasted until after 6 p.m. Wang Lihua's buttocks were wounded over a large area and she fainted. During the detention, Wuyi Road Police Station attempted to extort 10,000 yuan, but the family had no money. Ms. Wang's daughter had to give her 2000 yuan which she had scrimped and saved for her wedding. The police also forced her family to write a "guarantee statement" and detained her for a month. At 6 a.m. on August 8, 2000, Wang Lihua was forcibly sent to Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City. During the 130 days while Wang Lihua was on hunger strike to protest the persecution, guard Yan Hongli pulled her down from the bed by dragging her hair. They tied her up for the "death bed torture." Ms. Wang could not move a bit and was forcibly injected with unknown drugs. Due to long-term brutal persecution, Wang Lihua's blood pressure fell to between 40 and 60 mmHg and she felt dizzy after any slight movement. Her body became very emaciated and she weighed only 30 to 35kg (about 70lb). Her life was in danger. The forced labor camp was afraid to take responsibility for her death, so they released her.

Wang Lihua's mother, Yang Chunmei, died from persecution on July 15, 2005.

16) Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Liang Fuqing Suffers Persecution

In January 2001, police from Wuyi Road Police Station illegally arrested Ms. Liang Fuqing from her workplace dormitory to the police station. They searched Liang Fuqing's personal property and the computer at her workplace. She was later sentenced to four years of forced labor.

17) Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zheng Xiaohong Suffers Persecution

At 10 a.m. on January 3, 2001, Wuyi Road Police Station officer Wu Jingshen led two more police officers to forcibly arrest Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zheng Xiaohong, who lived on South Mingde Street. They cuffed her to the bed in the reception room of Wuyi Road Police Station and detained her for five days and nights. They also sent Zheng Xiaohong and her husband to Shisanli Detention Center for 15 days, and then sent a summons extending the detention term for another 15 days. Zheng Xiaohong's two daughters were left at home alone without care, causing them tremendous mental anguish.

18) Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Li Yuying Suffers Persecution

Ms. Li Yuying, a staff member of Zhangjiakou No. 3 Hospital, went to Beijing to appeal in May 2000. She was arrested, detained at Shisanli Detention Center, and extorted 1600 yuan. Wuyi Road Police Station police chief Deng Jianmin seized the opportunity to extort Li Yuying's workplace 3000 yuan.

On October 25, 2000, Li Yuying went to Beijing to appeal with fellow practitioners and was sentenced to one and a half years.

The above are only some facts of the persecution of Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners over the past several years by Qiaodong District Political and Judiciary Committee, Qiaodong District Police Department, the district local police station and community office and Qiaodong District Legal System School. Their common means of persecution are: repeated imprisonment, arresting and detaining practitioners, imposing large fines and searching practitioners' homes. This is the genocidal policy the Jiang regime has implemented against Falun Gong practitioners who follow "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and who do not fight back when beaten or cursed. Jiang's orders of "Ruin their reputations, bankrupt them financially and destroy them physically" are fully carried out in Zhangjiakou City. The persecution imposed on Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners by Jiang's regime and the evil Communist Party is intolerable to human nature.

(1) "The Two Offices" -- They are the State Council Appeals Office and the People's Congress Appeals Office.

Ms. Xu Fengzhi lived on Qidao Street, Xinfu District, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. Before learning Falun Gong in May 1997, Ms. Xu had many diseases. After she started practicing her illnesses were cured. On July 20, 1999, she went to the city government to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. She told everyone that she learned Falun Gong, and that "Falun Dafa is good."

In 2000, her elder daughter was imprisoned at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. A practitioner told her that her daughter had resisted "transformation" and was brutally tortured. After Ms. Xu listened to the message she was very worried about her daughter and the other practitioners. The news saddened her. Due to the emotional trauma, she passed away on November 11, 2000, at about 11:00 p.m. in her sixty-ninth year.

Ms. Xu Fengzhi

Mr. Wei Yicheng, seventy-seven years old, was a Navigation and Transportation Bureau retired shipman in Yingkou City, Liaoning Province. He learned Falun Gong in 1995. On July 20, 1999, when Jiang's faction started arresting and torturing Falun Gong practitioners, his son and daughter were compelled to leave home. The police continuously harassed his family. The perpetrators kept asking where his son was. Mr. Wei was brutally tortured both physically and mentally. Mr. Wei passed away on September 25.

Mr. Li Shihua, forty-nine years old, was from Yangjia Village, Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province. He learned Falun Gong in November 1998. His health improved after he started practicing Falun Gong. After July 20, 1999, the police continuously harassed Mr. Li's family. He passed away in December 2000.

Ms. Jiang Shuchun, eighty-five years old, was from Xinglong Town, Youyi County, Heilongjiang Province. She had been practicing Falun Gong since 1995. She was paralyzed in the spring of 1999. She kept practicing and studying the Fa every day. After around ten days, she fully recovered. She always said, "Falun Dafa is good," when she went to visit friends. More than ten people practice Falun Gong as a result of her persistent efforts in spreading Falun Gong. Xinglong Officials from the Village Police Station repeatedly harassed her family many times after July 20, 1999, and they stopped her from practicing Falun Gong and appealing in Beijing. She passed away on September 18, 2005, after her illnesses recurred. Before she died she told her two daughters to study Falun Gong well.

Mr. Li Dexing, seventy-three years old, learned Falun Gong in 1996. After he started practicing, his illness was cured. His son is also a Falun Gong practitioner. After July 20, 1999, policemen and people from the community kept harassing them. Because the CCP destroyed their practice environment, his mind was seriously injured. In addition, his son was reported to the police, and was sent to a forced labor camp for three years. As a result of all of the harassment and problems, his old ailments returned. He passed away on September 10, 2004.

Ms. Li Xiulan, seventy-six years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Langfang City, Hebei Province. After July 20, 1999, the police and the 610 Office always harassed and threatened Ms. Li's family. Her old ailments returned, and she passed away in February 2004.

Ms. Chen Jianhua, about fifty-one years old, was from Xingfushiliu Village, Yantai City, Shandong Province. She suffered from diabetes before learning Falun Gong in 1997. After beginning the practice not only was she cured but she could eat and work. From July 20, 1999, through 2000, Ms. Chen appealed in Beijing for justice for Falun Gong, clarifying the truth and validating Falun Gong. The authorities extorted more than ten thousand yuan from Ms. Chen. She was imprisoned at a detention center, and handcuffed to a chair. She was deprived of sleep and force-fed. Ms. Chen was brutally tortured and she was only released when she was on the verge of death. After her release, her health was still not good, but she continued to clarify the truth to people. Six police officers from the Xingfushiliu police station arrested Ms. Chen in 2005, took her to a brainwashing center and tortured her. She was finally released because of her poor health. The perpetrators extorted a lot of money from and harassed her family. Due to the continued harassment and torture, Ms. Chen passed away on March 20, 2005.

1. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Anjun and Mr. Li Shuzhong Tortured Through Force-feeding and Their Lives in Danger

On the evening of September 22, 2005, practitioner Mr. Zhang Anjun was illegally arrested. On the eighth day of his detention, he was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. Since November 12, 2005, Mr. Zhang Anjun has been on a hunger strike to protest the inhumane torture. His life is in danger. He has been forced-fed for an extended period.

Practitioner Mr. Li Shuzhong from Beipiao City in Liaoning Province has been on a hunger strike to protest his illegal detention ever since the police from the State Security Division of Beipiao City arrested him on October 21, 2005. Recently Mr. Li Shuzhong was tortured until he vomited blood and his life is greatly endangered. According to witnesses, Mr. Li is extremely weak and in a coma. His feet are still in shackles and the feeding tube has been kept inside of him for a long time.

Practitioner Mr. Liang Baofan is 43 years old. On November 14, 2005, a local resident reported him to the police when he was distributing truth-clarification materials in the Dongjuzi District of Jilin City. As a result, he was arrested by the police.

On November 10, 2005, the police suddenly broke into practitioner Ms. Guo Shuzhen's home and arrested her.

Around 9:00 p.m. on the evening of November 14, 2005, four practitioners from Peibali Village, Ms. Li Qingmei, Ms. Liu Guifang, Ms. Cui Fenglan and Ms. Zhou Huajun, were doing group excercises. More than 20 policemen arrived and carried them off to the Chiping County Detention Center. The police officers came in three cars carrying ladders and climbed onto the rooftop to arrest the practitioners.

On the afternoon of November 5, 2005, practitioner Ms. Li Ailian from the Tunlan District of Gujiao City in Shanxi Province was arrested by the police officers at the Gujiao City Train Station and taken to the Gujiao City Railroad Police Station. The following day, at around 1:00 a.m., the police officers searched Ms. Li Ailian's house and confiscated her laptop, a printer and other items. On November 7, 2005, officers with the State Security Division of the Taiyuan City Railroad Police Department took Ms. Li Ailian to the Taiyuan City Railroad Police Department for illegal detention.

At 8:00 p.m. on the evening of November 4, 2005, practitioner Mr. Yang Junfeng was arrested and detained for one night in the Beicheng District Police Station of Shulan City in Jilin Province. After 8:00 a.m. the next morning, police officer Wang Ximin (male) from the Beicheng District Police Station tried to arrest the parents of Mr. Yang Junfeng at their home. He failed because Mr. Yang's parents, who are also practitioners, did not open the door.

Practitioner Yan Junhua worked at the Dagang District Water Conservancy Department. On November 17, 2005, more than ten policemen broke into the practitioner's work place and made an arrest.

Practitioners Ms. Wu Chunzhen and Ms. Shi Yanqiu are both from Nantunji Township, Dongfeng County in Jilin Province. On the evening of November 15, 2005, they were arrested at home by the police of Wudaogang Township of Dongfeng County. Their houses were ransacked. Both of them are being held and tortured in the Dongfeng County Detention Center.

Practitioner Ms. Yang Lingju is a retired worker from the Ziyang Pharmaceutical Company in Sichuan Province. On November 15, 2005, Ms. Yang was illegally arrested and is now being held in the Yanjiang District Detention Center in Sichuan Province.

On November 15, 2005, practitioner Ms. Fan Xiuzhi from the Sandaohezi District in Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province, was arrested by the police of the Sandaohezi Police Station. At 2:00 p.m. on November 18, 2005, practitioner Mr. Qi Zhiqian from the Wujiazi District of Lingyuan City was arrested. On the same day, practitioner Mr. Meng Zhaowu from the Sandaohezi District of Lingyuan City was also arrested. They are all being held in the No. 2 Detention Center of Lingyuan City.

At 12:00 p.m. on November 17, 2005, practitioner Ms. Zhu Quanzhen from Lixin County in Anhui Province was sending forth righteous thoughts at home. Suddenly, several members of the local police station came into her house. They tried to force her to write words to defame Falun Gong. Ms. Zhu, as a Falun Gong practitioner, refused, and she was taken away to the Bozhou City Brainwashing Center. Several other practitioners, including Ms. Lin Xuezhi, were also taken there around the same time.

Practitioner Ms. Wang Tingyu is from the Sungang Township, Yeji Experimental District, Liu'an City in Anhui Province. On the evening of October 24, 2005, she was arrested by the police and is being held in the Huoqiu County Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Tingyu's husband, practitioner Mr. Li Zucheng, was arrested by the police from their home on September 9, 2005, and was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. He is detained in the Nanhu Farm. Their two young children and his elderly mother are left at home without anyone to take care of them.

On October 29, 2005, practitioners Mr. Ma Yunzhong, Ms. Xu Jingcui and Ms. Wang Qinghua from Feidong County, Hefei City in Auhui Province, were all arrested. The whereabouts of practitioner Ms. Song Ling and Ms. Liu Chuanfang are currently unknown.

On October 22, 2005, Ms. Zhao Fuling from the Hexi District of Tianjin City was arrested by the police of the Machangdao District Police Station. She is being detained and tortured in the Hexi District Police Department of Tianjin City

At 1:00 a.m. on October 20, 2005, practitioner Mr. Liu Shuge was taken away by several police officers, including policeman Gao Shan (male) from the Kuancheng County State Security Division. On October 21, 2005, Mr. Liu Shuge was taken to the Gaoyang County Forced Labor Camp.

Practitioner Ms. Huang Guimei from the Xiangdong District of Lingyuan City in Liaoning Province was arrested by the police on November 2, 2005, when she was working in a drug store in Lingyuan City. The next day she was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp and is now being tortured.

Practitioner Mr. Liu Wanli from the Laoheqiuzigou Township and the Yejia Township of Suizhong County was arrested by the police around November 16, 2005. His house was also ransacked by the police. Both he and another practitioner are being held in Suizhong County Detention Center.

1. [Zhangjiakou City, Heibei Province] Party Secretary Zhang Xingwen of Huashaoying Town Bribes the Forced Labor Camp to Admit Good People

On November 30, 2004, Party Secretary Zhang Xingwen of Huashaoying Town, Zhangjiakou City, Heibei Province, and Liu Xingfu of the police station went to the home of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Gailin and threatened him. Mr. Li was arrested and held in the detention center that same night and sent to Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp after three days. On the way to the forced labor camp, Li Gailin jumped out of the vehicle to escape. He fell into the river and developed symptoms of illness. Even so, he was still sent to the labor camp. After the physical examination, the labor camp refused to admit him. Zhang Xingwen went to the camp in person and brought gifts and money to the camp. As a result, Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp agreed to admit Mr. Li Gailin. Mr. Li was then persecuted for a whole year. He was released on November 2, 2005

2. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Exposing the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center

The Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City runs like a regular school with principal, assistant principal, and regular terms. Each term lasts for about 20 days. The classes cease in winter, from January to March or April. Usually more than a dozen practitioners are arrested at a time and sent to the center to fulfill the attendance quota. Recently it has been difficult to arrest so many people, so they just arrest as many as they can and start the classes. During the brainwashing process, audio and video materials slandering Falun Gong are played, and lectures to attack and defame Falun Gong are given by staff members from different units, institutions, and schools in Fushun City. When the authorities fail to achieve their goal of "reforming" practitioners, they began to intimidate and threaten them with forced labor or prison terms. After that, they deprive practitioners of their sleep and abuse them verbally or physically. Among those who have been persecuted are Mr. Gao Dong from the Liaohe Oil Field, military officer Mr. Jin Fujun from Hulu Island, and Ms. Liu Xia.
