The Facts of the Persecution of Falun Gong -- November 23, 2005

Falun Gong practitioner Liu Boyang was a doctor at the Qianwei Hospital in Jilin Province. On the afternoon of October 28, 2005, Liu Boyang and his mother Wang Shouhui delivered Falun Gong truth-clarification material to a practitioner's home. They were followed, illegally arrested and detained at the Changchun Kuancheng District Police Department. He and his mother were tortured and Liu Boyang died from the torture at 8 p.m. that night.

Because his family members were looking for those responsible in Liu's death, an autopsy was performed. It was found that his entire body was bruised and there were several holes in his body. The autopsy results indicate that he was beaten cruelly and then thrown downstairs. The District Police Department staff claimed it to be "suicide by jumping from upstairs."

Mr. Liu Boyang, 29, was a CT section doctor at Qianwei Hospital in Jilin Province. He began to practice Falun Gong with his parents in1995. After July 20, 1999, police from the Zhengyang local police station and the Zhengyang residents' committee in Luyuan District harassed Liu Boyang many times when he was at home. Liu Boyang's mother Wang Shouhui went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in October 1999 and February 2000. She was arrested, detained and sent to a forced labor camp. She suffered torture at Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. She was beaten with an electric baton eight times and tortured on the Death Bed many times. She was even tied up on the bed and tortured with two electric batons simultaneously over an hour at one time. Her entire body and face were injured. She was critically ill due to persecution.

On March 16, 2002, the police of the 4^th Squadron of the Criminal Group in Luyuan District arrested Liu Boyang and attempted to find his parents. But, they did not succeed. Therefore, they detained Liu Boyang at Zhengyang Local Police Station. On the second day, Liu Boyang was taken to the Daguang Detention Center and held for 15 days. After Liu Boayang was released, and the minute he got out of the police car at the gate of his workplace, personnel from the Changchun City Security Bureau covered his face and arrested him again. They handcuffed him, held him in a room at the Security Bureau and interrogated him by torture for three days and nights.

On June 27, 2002, Liu Boyang and his parents were again arrested by staff from the politics and protection section of Luyuan District's Police Department and taken to Zhengyang Local Police Station. Politics and protection section chief Zhu Zhishan ordered police officer Yuan Dachuan to interrogate Liu Boyang by torture. Several police officers brutally tortured Liu Boyang, punched and kicked him, slapped his face with shoes, tied him with ropes, covered his head with a plastic bag, tortured him with the "Big Hang Up," cuffed his arms behind his back, hung him up in the air, and swung his body or pulled his feet downwards. At that time, Yuan Dachuan announced: "I have already tortured a few Falun Gong practitioners to death, I do not need to bear any responsibility if I kill you! "Liu Boyang's entire body sweated profusely, and his hands were numb for a long time. After Liu Boyang was tortured to near death, he was sent to Tiebei Detention Center and held for four months. Liu Boyang's mother Wang Shouhui was set free after she had been tortured and was near death.

On October 29, 2002, Liu Boyang was sent to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City for two years of forced labor. In December, guards made him sit on the icy-cold cement floor for an entire day, deprived him of sleep, and tried to brainwash him. He was due to be released in June 2004, but the forced labor camp refused to release him They extended his term 47 days with some kind of excuse.

On August 17, 2004, staff from the Zhengyang residents' committee, Luyuan District 610 Office and two policemen of the Zhengyang local police station took Liu Boyang to the Zhengyang local police station, and tried to make him write the guarantee statement. Liu Boyang refused. Therefore, they tried to send him to Xinglongshan Brainwashing Center for further persecution, and extorted a 700 yuan fee monthly from Liu Boyang's family. Later Liu Boyang escaped with righteous thoughts.

At 4:20 p.m. on October 28, 2005, Liu Boyang and his mother Wang Shouhui were followed when they were delivering informational material to a practitioner's home. They were arrested at the practitioner's home and detained at the Kuancheng District Police Department. Police tortured mother and son, and Liu Boyang died at 8 p.m. that same night.

Another Falun Gong practitioner, Liu Haibo, 34, a CT section doctor at Luyuan District Hospital in Changchun City was arrested at home by police from the Kuancheng District Police Department on March 11, 2002. He was tortured to death in the office of the sub-bureau that same night.

On March 18, 2002, practitioner Liu Yi, 34, was killed by staff from the Criminal Police Group of Luyuan District Police Department, Changchun City. Shen Jianli, 34, a teacher of the Applied Math Faculty in Jilin University was arrested on March 6, 2002, and tortured to death by the local police at the end of April.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Shuzhong from Beipiao City, Liaoning Province was arrested at around 6 o'clock on October 21, 2005. Participating in the arrest were officials from the Sanbao Police Station, including Bai Guangwu and Zhang Dongming. Mr. Li was held at the Liangshuihe Detention Center in Beipiao City. He has been on a hunger strike for 28 days in protest against the persecution and is extremely weak. The officials at the Beipiao City Politics and Law Committee, as well as those from the 610 Office and National Security Division, declared, "Last time after we arrested him, he held a hunger strike for 11 days and got out. This time no release will be granted, even if he dies!"

Li Shuzhong had his feet shackled when he was sent to the No 2 Hospital in Beipiao City for an IV infusion. He was also chained to the bed. Right now he is being force-fed and abused in other ways. According to witnesses, Li Shuzhong has lost consciousness and is very weak. He is sometimes in a coma. The perpetrators left the feeding tube in his stomach for long periods of time and covered up the tube with a face-mask.

Despite Li Shuzhong's condition, personnel from the Beipiao City National Security Division still insisted that he be present at an illegal trial. At around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2005, they carried the comatose Li Shuzhong from the hospital to the courthouse and held a secret trial that lasted less than ten minutes. They sentenced Li Shuzhong to five years in prison. On November 11, Li Shuzhong's family went to intercede for him at the Beipiao City National Security Division, Beipiao City Procuratorate, Beipiao City Court, the 610 Office and the Liangshuihe Detention Center, but the persecutors refused to take any action and absolved themselves from responsibility.

Li Shuzhong is affixed to a bed, shackled, and his ankles are red and bruised. At around 8:30 p.m. on November 15, Li Shuzhong's stomach bled after long-term force-feeding, and he went into a coma. His esophagus ulcerated and emitted an odor, and the perpetrators put a face-mask on him to cover it up. Li Shuzhong is held at the No 2 Hospital. The orders are to treat him until he recovers somewhat, so they can then send him to prison.

Li Shuzhong was detained eight times altogether for persisting in Falun Gong practice. On June 5, 2001 he was sentenced to forced labor. He was held at the Xidayingzi Forced Labor Camp in Chaoyang City and at the Huludao City Forced Labor Camp. He was tortured until he sustained a massive brain hemorrhage and heart palpitations. He was very weak and coughed for long periods of time each day. During the detention, his employer unreasonably fired him. Beipiao City "610 Office" personnel and those from the National Security Bureau threatened his wife with firing her from her job. His wife could no longer endure the threats and intimidation and divorced Li Shuzhong on March 10, 2005.

At around 6:00 a.m. on October 21, 2005, three officers, Zhang Dongming, Sun Xiangdong and Wang Shucheng went to the home of Falun Gong practitioner Zhu Yunqin and tried to take her to the police station. Zhu Yunqin and her family resisted the attempted arrest. Li Shuzhong was at their home around that time. The police made a phone call, and soon four additional officers led by police chief Bai Guangwu arrived. They smashed the glass door and barged inside. Six officers dragged Zhu Yunqin off her bed. Zhu Yunqin's family confronted the police, "Why are you arresting people for no reason?" The police said, "There is no justice! The Communist Party doesn't care about 'reason', so what can you do?"

According to a reliable source, the 2nd Hospital is unwilling to continue treating Li Shuzhong because he is in critical condition. He has been returned to the Liangshuihe Detention Center for further persecution.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Du Jinglan from Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, was tortured in Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison for more than two years. She died on October 27, 2005 (see /emh/articles/2005/11/3/66481.html).

Ms. Du Jinglan, 55 years old, was an employee of the Daowai District Candy Factory in Harbin City. After she began practicing Falun Gong, her moral character improved and her illnesses disappeared. She went to Beijing to appeal on "April 25, 1999," to testify to the goodness of Falun Gong. She went to Beijing to appeal three more times after the persecution began, and was arrested twice.

Ms. Du was sentenced to one year of forced labor after being illegally arrested at the beginning of 2001. She was tortured in the Wanjia Labor Camp. She was arrested again in August 2002, and detained at the Heilongjiang Province River Transportation Bureau Detention Center. Although she was suffering from high blood pressure, she was nevertheless beaten by the guards for clarifying the truth. She started a hunger strike to protest the persecution, but the guards tortured her with the "Hanging Up in the Air " method (1) for three whole days, disregarding the fact that she could have died at any moment from her high blood pressure condition. The guards beat her brutally. The torture caused open wounds on her wrists with the bone exposed. She was in extreme pain.

In April 2003, Ms. Du was sentenced to seven years in prison, and was taken to Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison where she was inhumanely tortured. She was deprived of the right to sleep at night and was tortured during the day. She was handcuffed to the heating pipes, hung up and beaten with wooden sticks, and was brutally dragged around by other prisoners. She went on a hunger strike to protest the abuse. Her blood pressure was 250 mm Hg, but she was still tortured. Once, her face and head were beaten until they became deformed after she was caught reading Master Li's new articles.

After suffering long-term, inhumane torture, Ms. Du was close to death on October 23, 2005. She was taken to the Second Hospital of the Medical University, but the Prison Administration refused to pay a penny, forcing her family to pay the bill. Her family was very poor, and had to borrow money to have her treated. The Deputy Ward Head Zhang (gender unknown) also tried to force her family to pay for the taxi and meals of the guards, claiming that it was following regulations. Ms. Du's family asked to see the written rules. They could not produce the alleged rules, and so they were unable to extort any more money from the family. Zhang threatened the family, saying, "If you refuse to cooperate with us, we will take her back to the prison." That night, Ms. Du was handcuffed to the bed while unconscious, despite her family's pleas to have the handcuffs removed. They dared to torture a dying woman even with so many witnesses.

Ms. Du Jinglan died three days later, on October 27, 2005 at 3:30 a.m. Her family members found fresh injury marks on her face while in the hospital. The guards claimed that they were caused by her falling out of bed. The guards had repeatedly stopped her family members from talking to her, fearing she would expose their evil deeds. Ms. Du Jinglan's body was cremated on October 29, under strict police monitoring.

In addition, Ms. Du Jinglan's brother-in-law, who is not a Falun Gong practitioner, was sentenced to one year in prison because he spoke out about his sister-in-law's abuse. He was beaten by other prisoners and his hair turned white due to the severe mental and physical trauma.

(1) There are two forms of this torture: 1) With both hands cuffed behind the back and only the toes touching the ground, one is hung up by a rope that is tied to the metal window frames; 2) One hand of a practitioner is cuffed to one bunk bed and the other hand to another bed. The two beds are then pulled in opposite directions. One feels extreme pain as the body is pulled.  See illustration on /emh/articles/2004/11/17/54624.html.

To force practitioners to give up their practice of Falun Gong, the Hebei Province Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp has exhausted all cruel means to persecute practitioners, especially the guards of the 2nd Group (women's group), whose violence toward practitioners has intensified since early 2005.

One morning in January 2005, the guards forced practitioners to watch video programs which slandered Falun Gong. Practitioners lowered their heads to avoid watching. Guards Li Yanji, Shi Jiangxia, Duan Yanrong, and Zhang Jiwei tried to force practitioners to watch by verbally cursing them, throwing chalk sticks at them, and hitting their heads with books. On the morning of second day, guards searched their wards, and left practitioners' personal belongings in a mess. At the same time, they commanded practitioners to go into meeting rooms and take off their clothes and underwear for search purposes. Whoever refused was cursed, beaten and kicked. Guards slapped practitioner Ms. Yang Guilan after they found Falun Gong articles on her person. Practitioner Ms. Liu Shuqin was beaten even though they found nothing on her. Five guards shocked practitioner Ms. Zhu Liying using electric batons, which caused Ms. Zhu's buttocks to swell and turn black and blue. Nowadays the guards in the forced labor camp often beat people with batons, sticks, and other things instead of their bare hands as in the past. At the end of each month, guards order practitioners to recite labor camp rules. Practitioner Ms. Han Shufen refused, so the guard Jiang Linlin commanded three prisoners to drag Ms. Han outside and force her to stand for a long time as punishment. Guard Shi Jiangxia kicked Ms. Han in her back and legs, and Guard Jiang Linlin cursed her furiously. Guard Li Yanji continually banged Ms. Han's head against the wall for half an hour. Ms. Han was unable to move for three days after the beating. Three days later, Guard Shi Jiangxia kicked her again while she was still lying on the bed.

At around 9:30 p.m. on February 2, while the practitioners were sending forth righteous thoughts, all eleven guards of the Second Group, including Fan Bao, Li Yanji, Shi Jiangxia, Fan Biaolu, Yang Na, Tian Zili, Duan Yanrong, Wang Qian, Jiang Linlin, and Cong Shujuan, came to search the wards. They opened practitioner's luggage to search. Practitioner Ms. Liu Yanzhen and Ms. Liu Haitao's Falun Gong articles were found. Several guards kicked the two of them and shocked them with electric batons from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 am. Ms. Liu Yanzhen was forced to "transform" and stamp her fingerprint. One electric baton used on Ms. Liu Haitao exhausted its battery after three hours. The next day, guard Fang Bao shocked Ms. Liu Haitao using an electric baton with a hand-operated power supply. Guard Jiang Linlin played a tape recorder outside the room so that no one could hear the screams. Even though Ms. Liu's face was all scarred, she still refused to renounce her belief in Falun Gong. Three months later the wards were searched twice and on April 20, the wards were searched again.

On April 24, because some higher officials were coming to inspect the forced labor camp, the guards hid practitioners who were either ill or had suffered mental collapse due to persecution, and some practitioners who were steadfast in their practice in the back vegetable garden while the rest of the practitioners were asked to gather in the big meeting room. Heads of the grand team, Yang Zemin and Li Xuejun, warned, "Officials from higher level are coming to inspect here. Anyone who behaves badly or says something that hurts our labor camp will be handled by me after the inspection. If you make me suffer, I will make you suffer and prolong your sentences." After the meeting, the guards asked eight former practitioners who had "reformed" to the office. The guards taught them how to lie and told them they would be released earlier if they behaved well. For years, no matter what level officials were from, when they came to inspect the labor camp, the guards always hid those practitioners who were either ill or mentally injured due to persecution, including practitioners who were steadfast in their practice. Practitioner Wang Lei, who was mentally traumatized due to persecution, was once pressured to hide in the vegetable garden, and she was beaten because she refused. Practitioner Li Cuiping tried to stop the beating but instead was beaten, handcuffed, and taken to the vegetable garden where the ostriches were raised.

One day at the end of April, guard Shi Jiangxia commanded practitioner Ms. Liu Yanzhen, who was too weak to get out of bed due to torture, to get up and work. Because Ms. Liu could not move, Shi Jiangxia grabbed her out of bed, beat her with a book, and scratched her face, before punishing her by forcing her to stand for half a day. Guard Tian Zili then poured a cup of hot water on Ms. Liu's face.

On May 27, guards ordered Ms. Yang Guilan, Ms. Liu Yanzhen, and Ms. Yang Xiulian to the office and beat them for no reason. Ms. Liu Yanzhen's face was beaten to the point that her face swelled. The guards also forced Ms. Yang to take care of sick prisoners who couldn't take care of their bowel movements. Due to lack of people being detained there, the labor camp officials were afraid that the labor camp would be closed so they didn't release anyone no matter how ill they were.

Torture Methods and Tools Deployed in the Hebei Province Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp:

There are also other various tortures. The Hebei Province Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp is a very evil place where Falun Gong practitioners are being tortured. Practitioners from other forced labor camps around the country who have failed to "transform" are transferred to the Hebei Province Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp.

One morning in August 1997, Mr. Song Sheng (who lived in Qian'an County in Songyuan City, Jilin Province) passed by a Falun Gong practice site and heard the Falun Gong exercise music. After he went back home, he told his family that the Falun Gong music resounded in his ears continuously. Afterwards, Song Sheng's relative introduced Falun Gong to his family, and the whole family took up the practice. After they started to practice, the whole family became harmonious and their bodies and minds benefited a lot. They were kind to others and often helped their neighbors, relatives and friends.

Once, his neighbor's house caught on fire. Song Sheng happened to be leaving his home at this time to travel somewhere. When he saw the fire and that there was no one around, he rapidly extinguished the fire by himself. Song Sheng never asked for any payback when he did good things for others. All the neighbors, relatives and friends said that he was a good person.

Since July 20 1999, Jiang's regime began spreading lies to slander Falun Gong. Song Sheng exercised his rights as a citizen to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. He went to Beijing to appeal on February 22, 2000. He was stopped by the police at Fengtai Train Station and was illegally arrested and sent to Qian'an County Detention Center for a month. He was brutally beaten and abused by staff members of the Politics and Security Section of the Qian'an County Police Department and the detention center. After that, he was held at the Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai for a year. In the labor camp, Song Sheng suffered from intensive brainwashing, beatings and torture for upholding his belief. He was released on December 28, 2000 (lunar year).

One day in April 2001, Zhao Yanhai and Yuan Ye from the Politics and Security Section of the Qian'an County Police Department forced Song Sheng into a police car on the street and took him to the Politics and Security Section. Yuan Ye tried to beat Song Sheng. Amazingly, none of his blows landed on Song Sheng, and Yuan Ye actually started to slap his own face. Blood came out of his mouth and he even asked Zhao Yanhai to take a look. Finally Song Sheng went back home safely.

On December 28, 2000 (lunar year), Song Sheng once again was taken from his home to the Qian'an Detention Center. He was kept there for fifteen days (policemen Chou Pengfei, Liu Wei, Zhao Yanhai and others are the officers in charge of Kunchi Police Station).

In March 2002, police from Yuzhou Police Station and Kunchi Police Station in Qian'an County pried open the window and ransacked Song Sheng's home when there was no one there. They stole a portable DVD player. Song Sheng's son and younger daughter heard from neighbors that the police had ransacked their home. They went to the Kunchi Police Station to ask for their DVD player back. Policeman Zhao Yanhai beat them viciously until they were dizzy. The police then bought some medicine and tried to force the children to take it. The children refused. The police were afraid that something might go wrong, so they took the children back home.

Because the police could not find Song Sheng and his wife, they went to Qian'an County Middle School and kidnapped Song Sheng's son. They threatened the child and told him to tell them where were the parents were. The child refused. Then they went to all of Song Sheng's relatives to ransack their homes and force them to tell where Song Sheng and his wife were. The relatives also refused to tell them. The police then deceived the relatives by telling them that they would release the child if they divulged the location of the parents. The relatives fell for the deceitful trap and told the police the location.

On March 28, 2002, police officers Shi Yuefu, Ma Jun, Chou Pengfei, Liu Wei, Jin Hongwei and so on from Kunchi Police Station drove to Dayangshu Train Station in Heilongjiang Province and arrested Song Sheng and his wife. Song Sheng's eldest daughter has become destitute and homeless in order to avoid arrest. His seventeen-year-old son was arrested and was held in Qian'an County Detention Center for a month. After that, he had to quit school because of all kinds of mental pressure. Song Sheng's wife was held in the detention center for a month and was released after that when her relatives paid 2000 yuan to bail her out. Song Sheng was sentenced to three years and was sent to the Weizigou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. After two months, his sentence was extended to five years and he was sent to the Jilin Province Prison. Right now Song Sheng's health condition is extremely poor and one of his legs is severely injured.

A harmonious and happy family was thus persecuted and torn apart simply for wanting to improve themselves by following Truth-Compassion-Forbearance.

1. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Whereabouts of Practitioner Jiang Xia Are Unknown

On October 7, 2005, practitioner Mr. Jiang Xia from Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province was arrested by Wuhan State Security Department police without cause while he was on his way home from work. His current whereabouts are unclear.

Jiang's parents are old and infirm. His wife, Ms. Zhou Xia, has been imprisoned herself on numerous occasions - at a brainwashing center, at the Wuhan Hewan Forced Labor Camp and at a detention center - simply because she would not renounce Falun Gong. While in custody, guards repeatedly tortured her with all kinds of methods, including beatings, suspending her in the air, shackling her feet, preventing her from relieving herself and depriving her of sleep. As a result of being tortured so cruelly, Ms. Zhou has sustained permanent physical injury. She has been diagnosed with hepatitis, ascites and a giant tumor inside of her abdomen, which could be fatal without immediate surgery.

In 2002, Mr. Jiang was severely tortured at the Wuhan Qingling Detention Center, leaving him permanently disabled. At the detention center, Mr. Jiang was brutally beaten for three days as well as locked up in shackles. Trying to pressure him into giving up Falun Gong, the guards threatened to rape him, thus deeply disturbing him. His parents were also greatly affected by the evil threat which aggravated their illnesses. The detention center also extorted some sum of money from his parents.

2. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Crimes Committed by Guards at Changchun Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp

In Group 1 of the Sixth Group of the Changchun Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp, practitioner Ms. Zhang Yunying was severely tortured to the point where she lost normal bowel and bladder functions. As a result of being prevented from relieving herself, Ms. Zhang developed immense pain in her lower abdomen and consequently could not stand straight. Despite this, camp guard Liu Ying would not allow her to see a doctor and also shouted accusations that she was "feigning illness."

Camp Guard Ding Caihong, known to arbitrarily add additional time on to practitioners who had finished their sentences, forced to Ms. Zhang's to serve an extra 21 days over her original sentence.

3. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Mr. Liu Xiaoming Arrested by State Protection Department Police

Mr. Liu Xiaoming, a disabled man, was arrested by police from the State Protection Department in Qinzhou District, Tianshui City on June 27, 2005. Mr. Liu is still in custody.

4. [Qingdao, Shandong Province] Elderly Practitioner Ms. Sun Xiulan Jailed for More Than Four Months

Ms. Sun Xiulan, an elderly practitioner from Qingdao City, Shandong Province was arrested on June 10, 2005. She is currently being held at the Qingdao City No. 3 Detention Center. The guards refuse to allow Ms. Sun's family to visit her. Her current condition is unknown.

5. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chang Xueqian Is On Hunger Strike to Protest Persecution at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Chang Xueqian was an employee at the Shenyang Agricultural University. At 9:00 p.m. on August 18, 2005, police from the Sanhao Street Police Department searched her house. They confiscated Falun Gong books and truth-clarification materials, and arrested Ms. Chang. Ms. Chang was sentenced to two years of "reeducation through forced labor" and is currently being held at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Chang has been on a hunger strike for some time.

6. [Tumen, Jilin Province] Husband and Wife Arrested By Tumen State Protection Department Police

Mid-day on October 20, 2005, Ms. Wang Hui and her husband Mr. Liu Tiejun were arrested by police from the Tumen City State Protection Department. The police confiscated a number of Falun Gong truth-clarification materials and a printer worth 50,000 yuan.

7. [Chifeng, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Yang Jing Sent to Brainwashing Center by Songshan District Police

At around 7:00 p.m. on October 8, 2005, Xu Guofeng, the Chief of Songshan District State Protection Department in Chefeng City, led a group of civilians to practitioner Ms. Yang's home in Xiangyang, Songshan District. The police asked one of the private citizens to knock on Ms. Yang's door pretending to be there to check her water meter. Once Ms. Yang opened the door, the group forced their way in to her home. Ms. Yang was taken to the so-called "Chifeng City Laws and Regulations Education Center," a brainwashing center for Falun Gong practitioners. At the center they attempt to brainwash practitioners and even demand a course fee of 2,000 yuan per person.

8. [Tangshan, Hebei Province] Ms. Weichi Guangwen Taken to Brainwashing Center by Police

On October 12, 2005, the Xingwangzai County Government and the Shirengou Police Department in Zunhua City sent personnel to Ganzezhuang Village to arrest Ms. Weichi Guangwen. Police forcibly entered Ms. Weichi's home, confiscated her belongings and took her to the Zunhua City Brainwashing Center. When a family member asked to see her at the center, the guards extorted 500 yuan from them first, before allowing the visit.

9. [Qingdao, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Hong and Ms. Min Huirong Taken to Brainwashing Center

On October 22, 2005, Qingdao City practitioners Ms. Sun Hong, Ms. Min Huirong and others who had been arrested by police prior to October 1, were taken from the detention center to the notorious brainwashing center located at No. 34, Mingxia Road, Qingdao City.

10. [Beipiao City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested by Police

On October 21, 2005, three policemen from Sanbao County Police Department in Beipiao City forcibly arrested practitioners Ms. Zhu Yunqin, 58, Mr. Li Shuzhong and Mr. Liu. At present, they are imprisoned at the Liangshuihe Detention Center.

11. [Tianjin] Mr. Xu Bochuan and Mr. Liu Jian Arrested by Police

Tianjin practitioners Mr. Xu Bochuan and Mr. Liu Jian were arrested by police. Mr. Xu is imprisoned at the Beichen District Detention Center and Mr. Liu is at the Tianjin Hongqiao District Detention Center.

1. [Heilongjiang Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Dong Limin Suffers from Anemia at the Provincial Women's Forced Labor Camp Due to Persecution

Belated news - On December 22, 2001, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Dong Limin went to distribute truth-clarifying materials at the Nenjiang Farm, but was reported and then arrested. Because held a hunger strike, she was sent to the Jiusan Center Hospital for treatment on March 24, 2002. At around 11:00 p.m. the next day, she and practitioners Wang Tao and Dong Quangang removed their handcuffs using the power of righteous thoughts and walked away.

On May 22, 2002, practitioners Dong Limin and Dong Quangang were arrested again, and both were sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment. Dong Limin suffered from anemia in Heilongjiang Province Women's Forced Labor Camp. Her face was extremely pale and swollen. Her family requested she be hospitalized, but the prison authorities denied the request.

Dong Limin is currently being held with other criminals.

2. [Changzhi City, Shanxi Province] Two Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested for Distributing Truth-clarifying Materials

On November 5, 2005, police arrested practitioners Mr. Han Wei, 27, an employee of the Xiangyuan Village Credit Union and Mr. Liu Wei, 24, while the two were distributing truth-clarifying materials in Pingshun County. They are being held at the Lucheng City Detention Center. It was heard that personnel from Changzhi City Police Department, Pingshun County Police Department and Xiangyuan County Police Department worked together to interrogate the two practitioners.

3. [Liaoning Province] Guo Yulong Sentenced to One Year of Imprisonment

Practitioner Mr. Guo Yulong, who is employed at the Liaohe Oil Field, was sentenced to one year of forced labor without any evidence. He is currently being held at the No.1 Division of the Shenxin Forced Labor Camp. He is forced to work from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

At 10:20 a.m. on November 8, 2005, Gao from the Weifang City 610 Office directed personnel from the Kuiwen District Branch Police Department, Beiyuan Community Office and Police Station, and the Wolongxi Community Office, as well as guards from the Fenghuang Paper Industry and others. These more than twenty people broke into practitioner Tan Pingyun's home and confiscated all Falun Gong books and truth-clarifying CDs. They sent Tan Pingyun to a notorious 610 Office brainwashing class at around 12:00 p.m. where they threatened Tan not to expose this information on the Internet. 610 Office personnel called Tan Pingyun's home several times for extortion purposes.

During the morning of November 10, 2005, more than twenty officers from the Kuiwen District Branch Police Department in Weifang City broke into the home of practitioner Ms. Han Sufang in Yingnan Village, the Yingyuan District. They ransacked her home and confiscated some Falun Gong books, pamphlets, and truth-clarifying CDs. Afterwards they also ransacked the home of Han Sufang's younger sister. Han Sufang had by then been living away from home for a few years to avoid persecution.

5. [Neijiang County, Sichuan Province] Qiu Yulin Arrested For Distributing Falun Gong Truth-Clarifying Materials

During the evening of November 8, 2005, practitioner Qiu Yulin from Neijaing County was arrested when distributing Falun Gong truth clarification materials. At present, Qiu is being held at the Dongxing District Detention Center.

6. [Sichuan Province] Yang Lingjun Held at the Wuhou District Jinhua Brainwashing Center

Practitioner Ms. Yang Lingjun, who is in her 60's, lives in the employee community of the Institute of Designing and Planning, Sichuan Province Communications Department. On November 10, 2005, she was arrested at Xiaojahe. She is currently being held at the Wuhou District Jinhua Brainwashing Center.

7. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Peng Jufen Arrested While Distributing Falun Gong Truth-Clarifying Materials

On November 2, 2005, officers from the Pingwang Police Station arrested practitioner Ms. Peng Jufen, an employee from the Datong City Locomotive Machinery Factory in Shanxi Province, when she was distributing truth-clarifying materials in the city's No. 1 Power Plant. She is currently being held at the City Detention Center.

8. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Persecution Account of Practitioner Ms. Gao Fengjiao

Ms. Gao Fengjiao, 43, is from Huarong County, Yueyang City, Hunan Province. After starting the practice of Falun Gong in 1998, she recovered from many diseases. In 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and clarify the truth, but she was taken back to her local area and held at the Huarong Detention Center. She was later released after being extorted of 25,000 yuan in cash.

In February 2000, Gao Fengjiao was again taken from home to the detention center. Police ransacked her home many times and tormented her with all manner of tactics. Later they transferred her to the Zhuzhou City Baimalong Forced Labor Camp for further detention. Her former diseases relapsed during the severe persecution. She was extremely thin. The camp authority feared that she would die there and released her before her detention term expired.

Though she was released, personnel from local police department and from the 610 Office often harassed her, threatened her, and ransacked her home. They put her under house arrest and monitored her around the clock. They also urged her family members to persecute her. They brought over a vicious person named Liu Hongwen. On May 8, when Liu Hongwen pretended to learn the exercises with other fellow practitioners, Liu reported Gao to police. Thus, Gao Fengjiao was arrested again and sent to the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp. Though tortured, she was still determined in her belief in Falun Dafa and eventually got out.

The Facts of the Persecution -- Mr. Bai Yufu Was Arrested and His House Was Ransacked

Mr. Bai Yufu, 52, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Daqing City, Liaoning Province. On September 23, 2005, he was abducted by the Donghu Police Department. On October 25, he was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp. He is being currently detained in Daqing Forced Labor Camp. According to Mr. Bai's wife Zhang Lixin, the police did not show any search warrant when they came to their house on September 23, 2005. The police ransacked the couple's house. Then they took away almost everything and illegally arrested the couple. Their child was so scared that he locked himself in a room, going a whole day without any water or food.
