Before President Hu visited Düsseldorf on November 12 and 13, 2005, local Falun Gong practitioners arrived to talk to politicians, business people and media about the human rights abuses against the spiritual practice in China. While appealing to people to pay more attention to the persecution of Falun Gong, the practitioners set up two information stalls in front of the city and the state government buildings. They also presented an anti-torture exhibition to show people some of the barbaric forms of abuse that are being used by the Chinese Communist Party against Falun Gong practitioners.
Signatures were collected on a petition calling for an end to the persecution. People looked astonished and were in a state of disbelief. Some signed the petition with emotion while looking at the exhibition boards and saying, "It's as if we were back in the Dark Ages."
One man approached the Falun Gong stall and said, "I know about the Chinese Communist Party's behavior. According to an international organization's investigation report, the Chinese Communist Party killed seventy million citizens in thirty years of peacetime, not a war period. It looks very modern on the surface nowadays, but its nature hasn't changed a bit. Your activity is very good!"
An elderly lady said after understanding the truth, "You know what? Everyone has his own problems to worry about, this kind of thing or that kind of thing, but when I see this kind of misery happening in the world today, I feel my personal problems are not worth mentioning at all."
People sign the petition to support putting an end to the persecution
Another lady was very shocked and indignant after clearly looking at
the exhibition boards. She said, "There's no difference between the
autocracy of the Chinese Communist Party and Stalin, killing citizens
arbitrarily without any mercy. You're right to hold this kind of
activity. The politicians cannot just look at the economic benefits but
ignore the suffering of people." She expressed her support while
signing the petition and hoped our activity was successful.
