Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Dong Jingya and Mr. Yan Hongwei from Shenyang City were illegally arrested. Ms. Dong was sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, and Mr. Yan was sent to a brainwashing center in Luotaishanzhuang in Fushun City. They are in an extremely dangerous situation. Ms. Dong Jingya has been on a hunger strike for more than six months. She is being force-fed repeatedly.

Ms. Dong Jingya, 33 years old, is a practitioner from the Heping District of Shenyang City. She was engaged in architectural design work at the Liaoning Province Construction Design Institute. In 1997, she started to practice Falun Gong and benefited a great deal, both in body and mind. She worked diligently and was dedicated to her profession. After the persecution of Falun Gong began, Ms. Dong was forced to remain homeless for four years to avoid persecution.

On March 6, 2005, she was arrested by the Shenyang Municipal National Security Team and was imprisoned illegally in the Masanjia 2nd Women's Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Dong went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She developed such symptoms as "reverse-flow" stomach, blurry vision, kidney failure, and a shortage of blood in her cardiac muscle. When she turned off a tape recorder that was slandering Falun Gong, in July 2005 Masanjia guards handcuffed her to a metal railing at the end of a bed. She has been on a huger strike for more than six months in the First Division of Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. She has not been allowed to see anyone and is being continually force-fed. On October 13, someone who was concerned about her called the labor camp (Tel: 86-24-89210406) asking to visit her. A police guard said, "No one is allowed to see her. She refuses to wear the prison uniform and she still shouts ['Falun Dafa is good'] and does the exercises."

Mr. Yan Hongwei, 35 years old, is a practitioner from the Dadong District of Shenyang City. He worked at the Huachenjinbei Passenger Car Company in Shenyang City. After he started to practice Falun Gong, he benefited greatly both in body and mind. Because he is not only upright and kind but also works diligently, he is generally acknowledged to be a good man by his colleagues and neighbors. At the end of 2000, Mr. Yan was sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp. He suffered severe torture and psychological abuse when he was imprisoned at Shenyang City's Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp. Furthermore, he was illegally detained beyond his prison term.

His company manager sent Mr. Yan Hongwei to a brainwashing center in Luotaishanzhuang in Fushun City on September 20, 2005, after he finished work. He continues to be persecuted. He has been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Someone who was concerned about him called the brainwashing class asking about his conditions on October 28. Officer Wu Wei said, "If he will not be "transformed," it is hard to determine when he will go home."

Fan Yongcheng and his wife Lei Zhanxiang lived in the Jinchuan District of Jinchang City, Gansu Province, and started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. Since July 20, 1999, they have been persecuted again and again because they have persisted in practicing Falun Gong. Mr. Fan was illegally sentenced to 12 years in prison and Ms. Lei has been homeless for the last five years.

Before July 20, 1999, the old couple's chronic and stubborn diseases were eliminated by practicing Falun Gong. Their children saw that their parents obtained good health and domestic harmony through the practice, and the whole family lived in peace and harmony.

In January 2000, the couple went to Beijing to appeal to the authorities on behalf of Falun Gong. After returning home, they were detained. In the detention center, Mr. Fan couldn't eat. He vomited whatever he ate. Fifteen days later, when he had lost the ability to walk, he was released and sent home supported by two people.

One day in September 2000, Mr. Fan came across CCP Committee Secretary Qi Bin and two or three people from the Security Section of the Life Service Company. They deceived Mr. Fan, saying, "We have something to ask you. Let's take a ride in the car. You can return as soon as we have questioned you." They drove him directly to the Drug Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Fan was locked up for about 20 days for no reason.

Xu Fuyou (now Head of the Jinchang City Detention Center) and a person surnamed Xie abducted Ms. Lei and locked her up in the Jinchang City Detention Center for distributing truth-clarifying materials in Yongchang. Ms. Lei was set free 40 days later. One month later, Xu Fuyou and Xie once again broke into Ms. Lei's home, told her to bring her suitcase, and sent her directly to the detention center. Later she was transferred to the Jinchang City Drug Rehabilitation Center, where she was sentenced to one year of forced labor. Since she didn't pass the physical examination, she was sent back to the drug rehabilitation center. More than one month later, she was released because of her bad health.

One month later, as Ms. Lei was on her way to take a useless copy machine to a suburban school, she ran into Xie, who had been following her. When Xie found that she was carrying a copy machine, he immediately called Xu Fuyou. They again ransacked her home and detained her in the Lanzhoulu Police Station for one day. In the evening, they sent her to the Jinchang City Drug Rehabilitation Center. Hearing this news, Liu Chengye, Meng Jiaxian, and Li Xinhua from the Public Security Bureau, the TV station, and the Jinchuan Police Department, and Cai Xuexiao, Secretary of the Political Judiciary Committee of Jinchang District, and others were overjoyed. They thought that they had found a truth clarifying material production source and could take credit and get the reward. The TV station incessantly took shots of the scene. Meng Jiaxian asked Ms. Lei why she practiced Falun Gong. Ms. Lei answered, "Falun Dafa is good so I want to practice." Meng said, "Just based on your words, we should lock you up [in the Jinchang City Drug Rehabilitation Center]." After being sent to the Drug Rehabilitation center, Ms. Lei went on a hunger strike for one week and was later set free.

In order to avoid harassment from police officers, the old couple hence started their homeless life. On September 9, the Yongchang Court illegally sentenced Mr. Fan to 12 years in prison. After being locked up for 100 days in the Dashaping Jail, Lanzhou City, he was transferred to the Wuwei Youth Discipline Center. He is currently locked up in the No. 8 Group. His wife Ms. Lei is still homeless.

Ms. Liu Dan is a 29-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province. In June 2002, Ms. Liu was forced to leave home due to the vicious persecution. She was arrested at a fellow practitioner's home on October 24, 2005. While detained at the Jixi City Police Department, Ms. Liu was brutally tortured and abused for five days and four nights. Her body became very weak as a result. Ms. Liu is still currently under detention at the Second Detention Center of Jixi City.

On October 24, 2005, Ms. Liu Dan and Ms. Chen Lichun (also a practitioner) were visiting Ms. Liu Shulan, a practitioner from the Technological Division, Jixi City Coal Machinery Factory, when policemen Jiao Yang, Zhang Wei, Wang Weijun, and Chen (first name unknown) from the Jixi City State Security Group and Jiguan District Police Department raided Ms. Liu Shulan's home and illegally arrested them. Ms. Liu Dan and Ms. Chen Lichun were taken to the Jiguan District Police Department for interrogation. The police took 8,000 yuan in cash, a certificate of deposit for 10,000 yuan, a bank card with over 10,000 yuan of credit, and a cell phone worth 1,950 yuan from Ms. Liu Shulan's home. They also took more than 700 yuan in cash and an MP3 player worth 550 yuan from Ms. Liu Dan.

Ms. Liu Dan refused to cooperate with the illegal interrogation. As punishment, policeman Wang Weijun handcuffed Ms. Liu's arms behind her back and forced her to stand facing the wall for long periods of time. He also yelled profanities at her. That night, the police handcuffed Ms. Liu's wrists and chained them above her head to the metal door. Her ankles were tied together. They also forced her upper body to bend down. The position was extremely painful. Then Wang tried to force Ms. Liu Dan to stamp her fingerprint on a guarantee statement. Ms. Liu refused to cooperate. Wang then tried to force Ms. Liu to crawl under a stool, which she also refused to do. Wang then tripped Liu Dan, causing her to fall down. Her head hit the floor very hard. Wang tied Ms. Liu's legs together and forced her to bend over with her head next to her legs. He then put a stool on Ms. Liu's back and kept her in this position under the stool for an entire morning.

Policeman Zhang Wei from the Jiguan District Police Department hit Liu Dan's temples several times when Ms. Liu was not guarding herself. Zhang wore heavy shoes and kicked Ms. Liu's face and body. On the afternoon of October 25, Zhang affixed a picture of the founder of Falun Gong to the underside of Liu Dan's shoe using a rubber band. Liu Dan, who has benefited deeply from practicing Falun Gong and did not want to disgrace the Teacher, took the picture off when Zhang was not paying attention, and hid it behind her back. When Zhang saw that the picture was gone, he used it as an excuse to have a female police officer search Ms. Liu. When the police officer didn't find the picture, Zhang wanted to do the search himself. Ms. Liu refused to allow him to search her, and Zhang tore off two buttons from her jacket. Zhang also threatened to cover the floor with Falun Gong books, only leaving space for Ms. Liu's two feet (so that she would have to step on Falun Gong books), in order to disgrace Falun Gong. Liu Dan's family happened to have sent someone to visit Ms. Liu, which interrupted Zhang's evil plan.

On the same evening, when policeman Jiao Yang heard what had happened, he wanted to further humiliate Ms. Liu. He tore open Liu Dan's shirt in front of several other policemen and pinched her stomach with great force. He tried to force her to tell him where she had hidden the picture. Policeman Wang Weijun was helping Jiao Yang. Wang kicked Ms. Liu to the ground, separated her legs, and pushed her face to the ground to beat her. They didn't stop until Jiao Yang found the picture behind Ms. Liu's back.

On the afternoon of October 26, policeman Liu Jiaxue from the Jixi City Police Department asked Liu Dan if she knew Xing Guirong and Xu Chenghua. Ms. Liu Dan refused to answer. Liu Jiaxue, who has had martial arts training, pinched and pressed Liu Dan's acupuncture point near the elbow many times, causing severe physical pain and made her heart beat faster. Liu Dan almost fainted. She said loudly, "Falun Dafa is great!"

A man in his 20s who was with Liu Xuejia used a leather belt to whip Liu Dan's hands. She was beaten to the ground. They then pulled her up by her hair. They forced her to bend down with her head against the wall. At this point, Liu Dan was extremely weak and could not stand up anymore. She fell on the ground several times. The police then pulled her by the hair and used the leather belt to beat her all over her body.

Now Liu Dan has dark bruises all over her body, including her face and hands. She also lost a lot of hair from the beating and pulling.

By the evening of October 26, after two days of continuous torture, Liu Dan was extremely weak. Yet policeman Wang Weijun did not allow her to sleep. He handcuffed her to the radiator with her hands behind her back, until 4 a.m. the next morning.

After the severe beating, Ms. Liu felt sick whenever she saw food. Each day, she only drank a little water. On October 27, a driver surnamed Xie from the local police station bought a drink called "Ji Huo" and tried to force Ms. Liu to drink it. Liu Dan refused by closing her mouth. The drink spilled on Ms. Liu's clothes. Later, they brought milk and tried to force it down Ms. Liu's throat by holding her nose closed. The milk also spilled on Ms. Liu's clothes. They gave up after several tries.

Among the people who beat Liu Dan, Liu Jiaxue and the man with him were the most vicious and cruel. The other four policemen, including Jiao Yang, not only actively participated in the persecution of Falun Gong, but also took a leading role. They used violence to torture Liu Dan, a petite woman. However, Liu Dan maintained her righteous faith in Falun Gong and refused to cooperate with the police's unreasonable requests and illegal interrogation.

Although Liu Dan was tortured for five days and four nights at the Jixi City Police Department, she didn't cooperate with the evil police and never told them her name and address. To justify her detention, the police lied and said that Ms. Liu was under an arrest warrant from the Ministry of Public Security. Although Liu Dan didn't tell the police anything, she was detained at the Second Detention Center of Jixi City. She is now very weak as a result of the severe abuse.

In addition, practitioners Ms. Liu Shulan and Ms. Chen Lichun have been on a hunger strike to protest their illegal detention at the Second Detention Center of Jixi City. The details of their treatment are still under investigation. Ms. Zhao Chunying, a practitioner from Jixi City Hengshan District, was sent to the Second Detention Center of Jixi City on April 17, 2003 and died within one month from torture. Her body was full of wounds and was shocking to see.

We urge all kind-hearted people to pay close attention to this matter, stop the persecution of Liu Dan and rescue her so she can return home.

On Oct. 31, 2005, officers from the national security office illegally arrested Mr. Zhao Ziyi from Kaifeng. The officers confiscated the over 2000 yuan that Mr. Zhao had with him and stole 20 yuan more that they found in his home. Mr. Zhao's parents, who are over 80 years old, are now left at home with no one to care for them.

On March 2, 2005, officers from the Public Security Office in Gangu County, Gansu Province arrested Mr. Pu and Ms. Wang from school. The two practitioners were detained until March 28. Without sufficient evidence the police had to release them, but first they extorted 10,000 yuan each from their families in the name of a "bail guarantee." On April 23, the police illegally arrested Ms. Wang again. Mr. Pu fled while the police were trying to arrest him and he has now been forced into homelessness. His whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Feng Yajun, about 36 years old, was arrested on the night of Nov. 1, 2005. She is now detained in Luotaisanzhuang Brainwashing Center.

4. [Kaifa District, Dalian City] 70-year old Mr. Hao Fukui from Dalian Suffers Torture

On the morning of May 20, 2005, a group of about 20-30 police from Huanghailu Police Station coordinated by the Public Security Office's Kaifa District in Dalian City arrived at Mr. Hao's home with cameras, guns and electric batons, and forced their way into the house arrest the practitioner. They also searched Mr. Hao's home and confiscated his personal belongings. Mr. Hao has been detained at Dalian Detention Center since. His family members have been denied visitation rights.

Ms. Zhang Peiyun, who lives in Zaoziping, Panzhihua City, was born on Sept. 22, 1952. She has suffered repeated persecutions over the last six years due to her strong belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."

At noon on July 11, 2005, police officers from the Public Security Office of Panzhihua arrested Ms. Zhang who had been forced into homelessness for about four years. She was taken to Yanbian Detention Center and physically tortured. Ms. Zhang was hung up from handcuffs attached to the window for several days and nights, causing such severe damage to her arms that she still could not move them freely two months later. A policewoman hit her while stepping on her stomach, and she was then deprived of sleep for days. The policewoman poured cold water over Ms. Zhang whenever she closed her eyes.

On August 16, 2005, Ms. Zhang was illegally charged and locked in Panzhihua Detention Center.

On Nov. 2, 2005, officers from the National Security Office of Pingjian County's 610 Office arrested a number of practitioners including Ms. Li Fengchun from Yuping Town, Ms. Ouyang Zhenran from Dongta Village, and Ms. Zhan Xianhua, a school teacher at Nanjian Elementary-Middle School. The practitioners were arrested for clarifying the truth to the public. At present, they are detained at the County Detention Center. Ms. Li had been illegally sentenced to serve in a forced labor camp for three years prior to this arrest and has been detained at the County Detention Center numerous times. Ms. Ouyang was also illegally sent to a forced labor camp for one and half years and has also been detained many times before.

Mr. Zhang Qiang, who used to work at Dongliuchun Village, Dingzhou City, Hebei Province before his arrest in the winter of 1999 is still being detained long after his detention sentence has expired.

Officers from the local Nanmen Police Station arrested Gao Shenmian from Zhengjiang City, Jiangsu Province on the evening of Nov. 3, 2005, at around 6 p.m.

On the morning of Oct. 27, 2005, the Yixian Public Security Office arrested Mr. and Mrs. Qin Zhilin and the couple's daughter from their home. At present, the family's whereabouts are unknown. The perpetrators also confiscated two computers and some Falun Gong materials worth 3000 yuan in total.

On Oct. 25, 2005, four officers from Xishanbei Village Airport in Yixian arrested Ms. Wei Fengrong in Yujiazhuang Village. They ransacked her home and confiscated her computer and exercise music CD. Ms. Wei fled the arrest and is currently homeless. The officers came back at 11 a.m. to arrest her husband and he was forced to leave their home too.

1. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Personnel from the 610 Office Attempt to Sentence Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. He Wei

On July 3, 2005, practitioner Mr. He Wei and his family from Yingkou City went to visit his uncle in the Laobian District. The authorities followed them and found 20 truth clarification. They then arrested Mr. He Wei, his mother-in-law, and his wife Wang Haihong and took them to the Laobian District Police Station. Afterwards they ransacked Mr. He's home. Mr. He has since been held at the Yingkou City Detention Center. The police did not have any evidence on his wife, so they released her after the family paid 3,000 yuan as a "security deposit." At the beginning of October, Mr. He was again sentenced to two years of forced labor, to be served outside of prison. The Legal System Section of the Political & Judiciary Committee of Yingkou City passed the sentence. The family was fined 2,000 yuan but was not given a receipt.

Back on April 14, 2004, Mr. He's home was also ransacked and police found some truth-clarifying materials. Mr. He was taken to the Yingkou City Detention Center. His employer, the Yingkou City Telecommunication Bureau, later bailed him out. Sun Yongsheng was the guarantor who posted bail for him for one year. On May 4, 2005, the bail was due.

This year the police ransacked Mr. He's home and found a computer (the 610 Office surveillance system didn't find anything sensitive), two MP3 players, a tape recorder, two exercise tapes, six inkjet copiers, 25 blank discs, a copy of Zhuan Falun, four copies of Teacher's new articles, a disc, a booklet entitled "Wishes," and a small mat. According to internal information, the items found in Mr. He Wei's home were not enough to sentence him. Nevertheless, Wang Yousan, the 610 Office city administrator requested that these items be added to the list of things they had found last year. On August 9, personnel from Laobian District Procurator's Office held a preliminary hearing and ruled there was not enough evidence to sentence Mr. He to a prison term, and that it was not reasonable to add last year's items to the evidence list, so they returned the case to the Laobian District Police Station. Around October 10, personnel from the police station again sent the case to the Procurator's Office. Now the case has been sent to the Laobian District Court. The court will purportedly ask the Yingkou Court for advice on whether or not they should sentence Mr. He Wei and further ask for Wang Yousan's decision on that issue.

During the afternoon on November 4, 2005, personnel from Taihe District Western Suburb Police Station collaborated with police officer Tang Yubao from Zhalaiteqi County, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and broke into the home of practitioner couple Cao Zejun and Dai Pengfei. The authorities arrested them and ransacked their home. The two practitioners were taken to Zhalaiteqi County, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, for detention.

On October 29, 2005, officers from the Tiananmen Square Police Station arrested practitioner Ms. Jin Xuefang from the Tongzhou District. It's known that she has been held at the Tongzhou District Detention Center for over a week.

On November 3, 2005, personnel from the Chifeng City 610 Office and from the Zhaowuda Police Station broke into practitioner Ms. Su Xiangzhen's temporary rental in the Songshan District and took her to the Chifeng City Legal Education Center, which is in fact a brainwashing center set up for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Su Xiangzhen is in her 50s. On July 20, 1999, Jiang's regime started to persecute Falun Gong. Ever since then she has persisted in practicing "Truthfulness- Compassion-Tolerance" and was consequently sentenced to two years of forced labor. After her return home, the local police harassed her from time to time. Now she has been arrested and tortured.

Practitioner Ms. Qu Fengqing, 61 years old, is from the Dongli District, Harbin City. Since she was put into the forced labor camp in 2005, she has been beaten and forced to stand for long periods of time because she refuses to write the three statements and slander Teacher Li. At one time she was forced to sit on an iron chair for eight days and only allowed to use the bathroom every 12 hours. Police guards suspended her from a bed by handcuffing her hands behind her back. Policeman Wu Baoyun kicked Ms. Qu's face with leather shoes, and policewoman Li Chunxia grabbed Qu's hair and beat her head. Ms. Qu has suffered much from tortures.

Ms. Song Guiqin, from Yilan County, 42 years old, was shocked with an electric baton, slapped, forced to squat, and suspended from a bed because she refused to say slanderous words against Falun Gong and Teacher Li. Division head Wu Hongxun slapped Ms. Song's face. Police officer Jia Cuiyan kicked her. Those involved in the torture included deputy division head Yao Fuchang, policeman Zhou Muqi, policewoman Li Chunxia, and a criminal named Yang Xiumei in the No.3 Group. Ms. Song was tortured until she vomited anything she ate and could not eat for several days. The guards force-fed her even though she was extremely weak. They forced her to sit on an iron chair and squat from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and deprived of her sleep.

6. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wei Gang Arrested for Distributing Truth-Clarifying Materials

During the evening of October 26, 2005, personnel from the Cuidong Police Station found practitioner Mr. Wei Gang distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. Police ransacked his home in the middle of the night. They did not show a warrant for the intrusion. Mr. Wei has been sent to the Ajialing Sheltering Center.

7. [Liaoning Province] No.2 Women's Division of the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp is a Den of Evildoers Who Persecute Practitioners

The No.2 Women's Division in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp is a den of evildoers for persecuting practitioners. On the first floor they set up a separate area for holding those practitioners who are steadfast in Falun Gong and who have been on long term hunger strikes. In April 2005, they set up a Restricted Administration Team on the second floor to torture those determined practitioners. They also put the practitioners into small cells and then lied that they would transfer the practitioners to the Dabei Prison. More than a dozen practitioners were forced to work with criminals at the No.1 Women's Division. Practitioners were tortured because they did not cooperate, did not perform the forced work, or wear a name badge.

On December 31, personnel from the Liaoyang Police Station arrested practitioner Ms. Xin Shuhua and sentenced her to three years of forced labor in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. During the past one and a half years she was beaten, forced to sit on the tiger bench, shocked three times with an electric baton, locked up in a small cell for over 60 days, and handcuffed around the clock because she is determined in Falun Gong.

8. [Chiping County, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Guirong and Qi Zibo Taken to a Detention Center

At around 9:00 a.m. on October 26, 2005, officers including Ma Bo from the Caitun Town Police Station broke into the home of practitioner Ms. Li Guirong from Qizhuang Village, Hutun Township. They took her away without any legal documentation and lied to her family that they would let her return after a talk in the township government office. In fact they took Ms. Li to the Chiping County Detention Center. They also threatened her family, saying they would extort some money.

9. [Qidong County, Hunan Province] Mr. Guan Hejun and Ms. Qiu Fuxiu Arrested for Clarifying the Truth of Falun Gong

In March 2005, personnel from the Beishan Village Police Station in Humen Town, Dongwan City, arrested practitioner Mr. Guan Hejun from Qidong County and put him into the Shangqiao City Detention Center because Mr. Guan wasmposting Falun Gong truth-clarifying posters. His family attempted to visit him, but they were denied access.

On October 17, 2005, He Yuanjun, Huangtupu Town Police Station chief arrested practitioner Ms. Qiu Fuxiu when she was clarifying the truth of Falun Gong in town. She was immediately sent to the 610 Office for detention.

10. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] 610 Office Police Arrest Practitioners Si Deli and Li Shourong

On August 5, 2005, 610 Office police arrested practitioner Si Deli from Xinyang City in Shiheguang and then ransacked Si's home. Two bank deposit books showing about a 200,000-yuan credit were confiscated. Si is presently held at the Xianshan Detention Center. Police officers Wu Bo and Liu Jun from the Political and Security Section were responsible for this arrest.

On September 14, 2005, 610 Office police and security guards from the Xinyang City Normal Institute arrested practitioner Li Shourong, an employee of the institute, from home. While in detention, the police refused to let Li eat or sleep. They forced Li to sit on Teacher Li's picture. Li Shourong is currently held at the city's Political and Legislative Government Employee Institute.

During the night of September 29, 2005, lawless officers from the Fushun County Police Department and from the Hailang Police Station arrested practitioners Mr. Yu Wenqiang and Fan Shiku from the Shiwen Area, Fushun County. Mr. Yu Wenqiang's daughter resisted the policemen's attempt to arrest her father, but the police put her into detention for three days.

Mr. Yu Wenqiang and Fan Shiku were sentenced to three years and one year of forced labor, respectively. Family visits during their detention are not permitted. They are currently held at the Wujiabao Forced Labor Camp.

1. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] The 610 Office Fails to Arrest a Falun Gong Practitioner, Intends to Use a Child as a Hostage

The Langfang 610 Office secretly rents out the fourth floor at the Leyuan Guesthouse and uses it for a "transformation class" for brainwashing Falun Gong practitioners. In recent months, the Langfang 610 Office has given orders to subordinates at various locations to arrest Falun Gong practitioners and send them to "transformation classes." Under orders from the Langfang Sanhe City Police Department, they attempted but failed to arrest Ms. Tian, an elderly practitioner. They then started to ask around about the whereabouts of her grandson, intending to kidnap the child and use him as a hostage.

Changchun city policeman Zhang Sinan, 30, has illegally arrested many Falun Gong practitioners. He uses a brutal torture called "Carrying a Sword on the Back" and beats practitioners with his fists and feet. He also made two practitioners spend nights on a concrete floor during the brutal winter. Wang Lidong, 20 years old, is also ferocious. He uses an electric baton to shock practitioners, beats them with his fists and feet, and fills a plastic bag with smoke and puts it over their heads. He uses an electric baton to shock various parts of practitioners' bodies, including their private parts. Li Shichang and Zhang Guobao are also evil policemen who favor brutal ways to torture and persecute practitioners.

Mr. Fan Zhongzhuang from Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province, was twice illegally detained in forced labor camps for a total of four and a half years. During detention, he was forced to sit on the Tiger Bench and put in solitary confinement, where he suffered mental torture, which scarred his mind. Now Mr. Fan cannot work and the quality of his life is uncertain. He and his family have suffered much.

2. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] A Partial Account of the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Ding Shumei

Ms. Ding Shumei, an elementary school teacher from Zhangjiakou City, wrote a letter to an official clarifying the truth of Falun Gong and telling how her practice had brought her much benefit since she began practicing Falun Gong in March of 2000. As a result, Ms. Ding was illegally imprisoned at the Xuanhua Police department for over one month. During her detention term, the Xuanhua police incited criminals to force feed her nearly to death. After she was released, Ms. Ding was detained again at the Xuanhua Police Department. Ms. Ding was tortured to the point that she became mentally disoriented as a result of the constant abuse. On August 10^th, 2005, Ms. Ding was sent to the Gaoyang forced labor camp, where she was beaten, cursed, and shocked with electric batons. She is very weak. Currently, Mr. Zhang Zenyuan, Mr. Wang Shimin, and Mr. Wang Cungen have also been sentenced to forced labor camps.

On April 28^th,2005, the Donghu police broke into Ms. Yang's house and arrested Ms. Yang Huagui, her husband, their daughter, and their neighbor. On September 23^rd, the police broke into Li Qingzuo's house and arrested Li Qingzuo, his daughter, and his daughter-in-law. Meanwhile, other police went to Bai Yufu and Zhang Lixin's house and entered forcefully, creating a mess. Mr. Zhang Lixin was not allowed to use the lavatory and his child could not go to school. All of his Falun Gong books, Teacher Li's picture, computers, and printer were pillaged. The police abducted Bai Yufu and Zhang Lixin. They also attempted to abduct their daughter who was fourteen years old, but the child was scared and stayed in her room all day long. Then, they abducted Ms. Xiao who lived in Donghu. Ms. Zhang Xiumin was also abducted and her property was confiscated when she visited their house.
