On March 24, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Qi Lanying from Longhua County, Hebei Province was arrested when posting truth-clarifying banners, and was tortured in the County Detention Center until her life was in danger. Police kept going to her house to harass her and tried to extort money. She died in November 2005. Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Yu Bo and Mr. Dong Jingxiang also died under persecution. Ms. Qi Lanying, 51, lived in Dongjie Village, Longhua County, Hebei Province. She had diabetes before she learned Falun Gong, and was cured after practicing. She was first arrested in May 2003 while posting truth clarification materials. She was detained in Longhua County Detention Center, her body was severely injured, and officials extorted three thousand yuan from her.

She was arrested the second time on March 24, 2005 when she was posting a truth clarification banner, and again she was detained in Longhua County Detention Center, where she was cruelly tortured. She was already extremely weak, but the guards still shackled her legs, dragged her by her hair, and forced her walk in circles in the yard. She was picked up by her family when she was dying. Local police still went to her house to harass her constantly, threaten her, try to extort more money, and try to arrest her daughter. Her family did all they could to persuade Ms.Qi to renounce her practice. This hurt her more than anything else. She died in November 2005.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yu Bo, 60, was a retired doctor from Longhua County Women's and Children's Hospital. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, she was harassed by the police many times and was locked in a brainwashing center. The police later arrested her at her home, detained her, and released her after her family paid several thousand yuan in extortion. Under the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) evil persecution, she suffered huge pain and pressure, and died in the first half of 2005.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Dong Jingxiang was in his 50s and lived in Taishanhou Village, Longhua County, Hebei Province. He used to do small business, and his wife was also a Falun Gong practitioner. After July 20, 1999, both he and his wife were detained many times, forced go through brainwashing sessions, and extorted of several thousand yuan. In November 2000, Mr. Dong was sentenced to two years of forced labor and then was bailed out by paying seven thousand yuan. His wife paid an additional 3350 yuan. Later, his wife was sentenced to forced labor, his life was very difficult, and he had to give up practice under huge financial and mental pressure. He became very ill and died in 2004.

Longhua County is a well known poor mountain area. During the past five years, the villains from the Longhua County National Security Group of the Police Department and 610 Office arrested Falun Gong practitioners in order to extort money. They sentenced practitioners to forced labor, and then let them out after monies were paid.

On February 25, 2005, nine Falun Gong practitioners from Longhua County went to the countryside to pass out truth-clarifying materials. They were reported, and detained in the County Detention Center. Three families were extorted of various sums of money (and released). Ms. Yang Sujie is still detained in the County Detention Center, and the other five practitioners, Ms. Li Xiulan, Ms. Pan Guiyun, Ms. Liu Ruifen, Ms. Shang Shuqin, and Ms. Jia Suxia are now in the Shijiazhuang City Women's Prison.

Many Falun Gong practitioners have been illegally arrested and forced into brainwashing centers in Chenzhou and other counties of Hunan province since October 15, 2005.

A local practitioner couple whom had recently moved into their new home was "asked" by 610 Office officials in Suxian District to join the brainwashing "class." The authorities came as late as midnight to knock on their door. As a result, they had to leave their home that night and were unable to care for their child who still needed to go to school the next morning.

A practitioner who worked in a cigarette factory in Chenzhou received information that the leader of the factory had agreed to send her to a brainwashing center. She had to leave her position and become homeless. Another practitioner, Guo Boqin, was illegally sentenced to prison for four years, and then confined to a brainwashing center less than a year after her release. Chen Bailan from Suxian District of Chenzhou was arrested as well.

Another young practitioner, Peng, a high school teacher in Anren County of Chenzhou, was surrounded by a group of people who worked for an official from the 610 Office named Li, Their aim was to force him into the brainwashing center. However Peng didn't cooperate and escaped.

The next night, Li threatened Peng's family members, however Peng's father and brother said a few fair words about Falun Gong. At around 5:00 a.m. the next morning, his brother Peng Xiaomin was tied up while he was asleep and carried into a vehicle. They didn't even allow him to put on his clothes or shoes. Peng Xiaomin also teaches at a high school. The student's studies were surely affected by his disappearance. Peng Xiaomin's father's hands were also bound. The old man saw his son being kidnapped yet was unable to do anything. No one knows where either of the two brothers were taken.

In Yongxing County of Chenzhou, many Falun Gong practitioners were arrested as well. The thugs of Jiang's hooligan regime stirred the peaceful life of Chenzhou people. Many victims and their relatives said that they will sue these villains.

Also, a so-called "Law Enforcement Class" located at a party school of Beihu District is known to in fact be a brainwashing center. The main purpose of it is to crush practitioners' spirits and bodies, destroying their minds and torturing them at the same time. Everyone there has to submit 90 to 100 yuan per day to cover expenses, including food and administration fees, which means the total expense for the whole month is 2700-3000 yuan. In Chenzhou, few people can afford such a large amount of money. What's more, people are not allowed to speak with each other, to have their own thoughts or to have their own activities or freedom. They are deprived of sleep and suffer physical punishment as well as other means of tortures. The evil theories and curses of those who are working there can always be heard. So too, can the threats by 610 Office officials to send someone to forced labor, as well as the lies and slanderous words on the TV and radio again and again. They also force people to write a guarantee statement, repentance statements, denouncement letters and so on.

Between April 2003 and October 2005, there were no brainwashing sessions in this area, yet they have now started again.

Ms. Yang Xiaowen, a practitioner from Shenzhou City, Hebei Province, practiced in Falun Gong steadfastly. As a result, she suffered long-term harassment and persecution by government agents and passed away on August 2, 2005.

Ms. Yang Xiaowen, 51, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Matun Village, Shenzhou City, Hebei Province. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong with her whole family on July 22, 1999. In the meantime, police officers from Shenzhou City broke into her residence while no one was at home and ransacked it.

In late November 1999, Ms. Yang and her husband again went to Beijing to appeal. They were forced to return by the Shenzhou Police Department. Four police officers, including Jia Shuangwan and Zhang Yuchao, shocked them on their heads and faces with electric batons, and hit and kicked them.

In 2000, Ms. Yang was sentenced to a forced labor camp because she persisted in her steadfast belief. She was sent to the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp. Under Teacher's protection, she escaped from the forced labor camp.

In the autumn of 2001, she went to Beijing again to appeal for Falun Gong. Afterwards she was arrested by the Shenzhou Police Department and returned to the detention center. After more than ten days on a hunger strike, she walked out of the detention center openly and legitimately.

Due to long-term harassment and persecution by government agents, Ms. Yang was seriously injured both mentally and physically. In the spring of 2005, after suffering harassment by agents once again, she developed symptoms of a serious brain hemorrhage. She could not speak, her arms and legs were paralyzed, and she could not take care of herself.

Ms. Yang's husband was also illegally sentenced to the forced labor camp because he steadfastly practiced in Falun Gong. Later he escaped from the labor camp  and became homeless to avoid further persecution. Ms. Yang's 20-year-old son was also beaten and maimed by police officers from the Shenzhou Police Department because he persisted in practicing Falun Gong. After suffering huge mental and physical agony, Ms. Yang Xiaowen passed away on August 2, 2005.

Ms. Huang Min is a Falun Gong practitioner from Chengdu, Sichuan Province. She was illegally arrested by the local police. They put a bag over her head and took her to Xinjin Forced Brainwashing Center where she was subjected to cruel torture. After she was detained there for over a month, the police ordered her family to pick her up because she was at death's door. Nevertheless, the police continue to monitor and follow her.

On the morning of May 19, 2005, the police from Funan Police Station, Qingyang  District, along with staff members from the Funan Street Administration Office (a.k.a. 610 Office) arrested Huang Min at her studio apartment. A fierce man in uniform didn't even give her a chance to put on socks or change her clothes before he put a bag over her head, handcuffed her and dragged her from the apartment. Her computer, printer, cassette player and some other home appliances, as well her Falun Gong books and materials were confiscated in the name of "collecting evidence."

She was taken to the Funan Police Station where she was handcuffed to a chair until the next morning. They then put a bag over her head again and transferred her to Xinjin Brainwashing Center. During the detention at the police station and the brainwashing facility, the police interrogated her. At the brainwashing center, the police took turns interrogating her for several consecutive days. During the so-called interrogations, the police did not allow her to sleep and forced her to stay up all night. They handcuffed her hands tightly to the back of a chair. When she refused to talk, they pulled on her hands, causing her excruciating pain. A policeman even slapped her and poured water on her face.

Huang Min started a hunger strike on the day she was abducted as a peaceful means to protest the arrest and persecution. At the brainwashing center, the police subjected Huang Min to forced-feeding torture. Each time there were five to six people executing the forced-feedings. Some held down her arms and legs, and others were responsible for pinching her nose and prying her mouth open. They knocked out one of her teeth and caused many other teeth to become loose. Later they tied her to a bed and inserted a feeding tube into her stomach. Her esophagus was injured, which caused her to cough up blood and phlegm. In addition, the persecutors repeatedly attempted to intimidate her by saying, "We won't stop until you eat!"

In order to deceive Huang Min into providing information about her fellow Falun Gong practitioners, they told her that the Sichuan Province Committee investigation group was trying to understand the truth about Falun Gong in order to report it to the Chinese central government. They told her that she was one of the people they were trying to investigate. During the so-called investigation, Huang Min clarified the truth to them and revealed China's persecution of Falun Gong to them. The so-called "investigation group" failed to obtain any information about Falun Gong practitioners from her.

At Xinjin Brainwashing Center, each Falun Gong practitioner was monitored by two people at all times. They were not allowed to practice the Falun Gong exercises. If a practitioner tried to practice the exercises, the two monitors were authorized to subject her to cursing, beating or other violent means. There is a camera in each room and each corridor. There is also a closed-circuit TV in each room that is used to play video programs that slander Falun Gong. Each Falun Gong practitioner is forced to watch such video programs and read similar written materials. The so-called disciplinary staff members try to brainwash Falun Gong practitioners with slanderous materials, lies and evil theories used to frame and defame Falun Gong. This is a form of spiritual persecution and degradation in an attempt to force practitioners to renounce Falun Gong. All the expenses associated with the monitors are deducted from these practitioners' salaries.

Huan Min was detained in the brainwashing center for over a month. On July 8, 2005, Funan Police Station transferred her to the Chengdu City Detention Center where she continued her hunger strike. The detention center forced her to have a transfusion, which caused her body to swell. Because Huang Min persevered in her hunger strike, they transferred her to Qingyang Precinct's People's Hospital where she was guarded by police officers and military policemen at all times. The military police repeatedly cursed and beat her. Huang Min's ankles were chained to the bed around the clock. At night her wrists were handcuffed to the bed as well. Every day she was given a transfusion. A few days later they inserted a feeding tube into her stomach. After eight days of "medical care" at the hospital, she was at death's door. They had no choice but to notify her family and release her on medical bail.

After she was released, the Funan Police Station and the Street Administration Office had her monitored and followed.

Mr. Zhu Xianghe was a 63-year-old practitioner from Wumutun Village, Suining County, Jiangsu Province. In April 2005, he was illegally arrested and taken to Sutang Brainwashing Center in Suining County, where he was beaten to death. A witness said that Zhu's fingers and toes were completely black. His eyes and internal organs were harvested, and it was gruesome to watch.

While Zhu Xianghe was working at home on April 1, 2005, officers from the village police station took him away. On April 20, the lawless police called Zhu's son and told him that his father had died from an illness, and that he needed to come claim the body. Zhu Xianghe's son went to the police station to question them, "My father was healthy when you arrested him. If he was sick, why didn't you call us? Why didn't you let him get treatment? And why did you wait until he died to call us? I think you beat my father to death. I am going to sue you."

Zhu Xianghe's family didn't claim his body, so the police left the body in a location close to the crematory for almost a month. According to Zhu's family, the county's 610 Office told the local police station to give 7,000 yuan to Zhu's family to silence them. The local police station didn't want to pay. Since the county's 610 Office was worried about the body being left out for so long, they sent people to Zhu's home. To keep the family quiet, they paid them 15,000 yuan for the burial, and gave Zhu's wife a monthly allowance of 150 yuan. Then, they proceeded to cremate the body.

1. [Beipiao City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Shuzhong Is Tortured Until Comatose

At about six o'clock in the morning on October 21, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Li Shuzhong, Ms. Zhu Yunqin and Ms. Liu Xiuying, all from Beipiao City, were arrested.

Mr. Li Shuzhong is still imprisoned in the Liangshuihe Detention Center in Beipiao City. He has been on a hunger strike for over two weeks, and he is very weak. The detention center staff has been sending Mr. Li to the Beipiao City Second Hospital for intravenous feeding. One source indicated that Mr. Li Shuzhong is now in a coma from the torture. Yet the Beipiao City National Security Group still sent his case to the procurator's office and then to the courts.

Because Mr. Li is steadfast in his faith in Falun Gong, he has been detained eight times. He was first sentenced to a forced labor camp on June 5, 2001. He was imprisoned in the Chaoyang City Xidayingzi Forced Labor Camp and then the Huludao Forced Labor Camp. While being brutally tortured, some blood vessels in his brain burst and he developed an irregular heartbeat. He became very weak and had a bad cough.

While he was being held and tortured, he was fired from his job. The Beipiao City 610 Office and the National Security Group terrorized Mr. Li's family members, threatening their jobs. They harassed and threatened his wife. His wife was forced to divorce Mr. Li on March 10, 2005.

2. [Wudi County, Hebei Province] Mr. Jin Shengzhi Arrested While Distributing Falun Gong Truth-Clarification Materials

On October 18, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jin Shengzhi, from Haixing County, Hebei Province, was arrested by Wudi police officers while he distributed Falun Gong materials in Wudi County, Shandong Province. Currently, he is imprisoned at the Wudi County Detention Center. His family members are not allowed to visit him.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Zhengzheng was sentenced to three and a half years of imprisonment, and Mr. Xu Wen was sentenced to three years. Both were sentenced by the local 610 Office in Taicang City, Jiangsu Province.

1. [Inner-Mongolia Autonomous Region] Married Couple Mr. Dai Pengfei and Mrs. Cao Zejun Illegally Arrested

On the afternoon of November 4, 2005, Chang Yubao (male) and others from the Police Station of West Suburb of Taihe District of Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province as well as officers from the Zhalaite Prefecture in Inner-Mongolia Autonomous Region, broke into the home of Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Dai Pengfei (husband) and Ms. Cao Zejun (wife). They forcefully arrested both and ransacked their home. Now, Mr. Dai and Ms. Cao have been taken away and tortured in the Supervision Department of the Police Station of Zhalaite Prefecture, Xing'an League, Inner-Mongolia Autonomous Region.

On the afternoon of November 4, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhao Xidong from Nangang District of Harbin City in Heilongjiang Province was illegally arrested at his home by the police. The authorities illegally confiscated his personal computer, printer, camera and other items in his house. It is not currently known where Mr. Zhao is being detained.

3. [Beijing City] Recent Information on the Situation of Married Couple Mrs. Ji Lei and Mr. Bai Shaohua

Falun Gong practitioner Mrs. Ji Lei, who was illegally arrested on September 28, 2005, has been transferred to Tuanhe District Labor Camp for two years of forced labor, after she was detained in the Qinghe District Detention Center for one month. Her husband, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Bai Shaohua, is still detained in the Qinghe District Detention Center. He has been carrying out a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention and has been sent to the hospital twice for emergency rescue.

On October 22, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Shi Weiwei and another female Falun Gong practitioner were illegally arrested when they were distributing VCDs of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party at the Northern Gate of Fuxin County in Liaoning Province. 5. [Hebei Province] Mr. Cheng Wendong Forcibly Taken to the Labor Camp of Handan City, Hebei Province for Detention

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cheng Wendong lived in Xiaohouzhong Village, Qiu County in Hebei Province. Prior to the Spring Festival of 2005, Mr. Cheng went to Nanxindian Village of Qiu County to post Falun Gong truth clarification statements and was reported to police. The police attempted to arrest him but failed. The police then went to his family and extorted eight thousand yuan from them. Afterwards, they claimed that the issue was resolved, as long as Mr. Cheng went to visit the police station in person. When Cheng Wendong went there, he was arrested. Because he persisted in practicing Falun Gong, Mr. Cheng was illegally sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp. Some time in April, Cheng Wendong was forcibly taken to the Labor Camp of Handan City, Hebei Province.

6. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Ms. Feng Guirong Unlawfully Arrested

In order to uphold righteousness, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Feng Guirong from Yuwangtai District, Kaifeng City, Henan Province went to visit the relevant offices to request the release of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Guangcheng, who had been illegally detained. Because of this, she has been harassed numerous times by the authorities and was arrested on November 7, 2005. Now, Ms. Feng has been forcibly taken to Weishi County in Henan Province to be detained.

Just after 8:00 p.m. on November 8, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Qi Fengying and Mr. Chen Xiwei from Linghai City, Liaoning Province were arrested by police from the Baitaizi Township Police Station when they went to distribute Falun Gong truth clarification materials in Baitaizi Township of Linghai City. Currently, their whereabouts are unclear.

They have been detained in the Detention Station in Changling County and their family members have not been allowed to visit. 9. [Jilin Province] Police from the Fanjiatun Town Police Department of Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province Persecute a Falun Gong Practitioner

In October 1999, a Falun Gong practitioner and his wife from Gongzhuling City in Jilin Province went to Beijing for the second time to appeal for Falun Gong. Both were illegally arrested and detained in Qianmen District Police Station of Gongzhuling City. Later, they were forcibly taken back by the police from the Fanjiatun Town Police Department of Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province. They were then detained in the Gongzhuling City Detention Center and also sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp.

10. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Guosheng Brutally Tortured by Police from Yong'an District Police Station of Jiaohe City, Jilin Province

On the afternoon of October 28, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Guosheng was at home doing house repairs, when suddenly three people of unknown identity broke into the house. Later, more people came, until eight to nine people were there to violently arrest Mr. Zhang. Zhang Guosheng was forcibly taken to the Yong'an District Police Station of Jiaohe City, Jilin Province.

In the Yong'an District Police Station, the police first ripped off all of Mr. Zhang Guosheng's clothes from the waist up. Next, many people violently beat Mr. Zhang until he lost consciousness. On October 29, 2005, policeman Yu Ruxin from the Yong'an District Police Station of Jiaohe City continued to physically abuse Zhang Guosheng while interrogating him. He fiercely punched Mr. Zhang and kicked him dozens of times. As a consequence, Mr. Zhang Guosheng is no longer able to walk normally due to severe pain in both of his legs.

11. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Lanmin Still Illegally Detained in the Detention Center of Shenzhou City, Hebei Province

On the evening of October 11, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Lanmin was illegally arrested and forcibly taken to the Shenzhou City Detention Center in Hebei Province, by the Shenzhou City Police Department and the Hengshui City Police Department. That night, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Xincha was forced to leave her home to avoid being arrested. Both practitioners' homes were ransacked and their home computers were confiscated.

12. [Hebei Province] Arrests of Ms. Jin Xiuhui and Other Practitioners from Chengde City in Luanping County, Hebei Province

On the evening of October 1, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Jin Xiuhui, Mr. Guan Jingang, Mrs. Chen Xiaoping and her husband from Luanping County of Chengde City, Hebei Province drove to some villages to distribute the Nine Commentaries and related Falun Gong truth clarification materials. They were forcibly taken by police from the Luanping Town Police Station of Luanping County, Chengde City in Hebei Province and locked in a detention center. The police also illegally ransacked Mr. Guan Jingang's home.

On October 3, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ding Chengguo was abducted by the police when he was at work. Two days later, his wife, Ms. Ding Jianxin, was also illegally taken away from home. Both are now detained in the detention center, leaving their daughter, who is only in junior high school, home alone. All five Falun Gong practitioners are still detained, and none of their family members have been allowed to visit.

13. [Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Dailing from Guan County, Shandong Province Arrested

At 4:00 p.m. on the afternoon of November 7, 2005, police from the Guan County Police Department in Shandong Province broke into Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Dailing's home, forcibly arrested her and took her to the Guan County Prison. They also ransacked her house and confiscated Falun Gong books.

14. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Xiuyun Arrested

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Xiuyun is in her fifties and lived in Qinhuangdao City in Hebei Province. On or about October 30, 2005, when she was distributing Falun Gong truth clarification materials in the Yingqiuxili District of Qinhuangdao City, she was illegally arrested and is now detained in the No. 1 Detention Center of Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province.

15. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. An Yajing from Quyang County, Baoding City, Hebei Province Protests Illegal Detention Through Hunger Strike

At around 4:00 p.m. on the afternoon of November 5, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. An Yajing from Beiyangma Village, Yangping Town, Baoding City, Quyang County, Hebei Province was illegally detained by Wang Guojun (male), the head of the Security and Protection Office, and Wang Xianpo (male), who is in charge of birth planning work, when she was distributing Falun Gong truth clarification materials in Liubaihu Village of Dichun Township, Baoding City. Ms. An was also reported to the Dichun Township Police Station and Government Office. Deputy Governor of Dichun Township, Wang Liqing (male), and police officers Wang Rongqing (male) and Ling Jun (male) from the Dichun Township Police Station forcibly took Ms. An Yajing away. She is now detained in the Quyang County Detention Center of Baoding City. Ms. An is currently carrying out a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention.

16. [Gansu Province] Middle School Teacher Ms. Deng Huali from No. 9 Middle School of Yongjing County, Gansu Province Arrested

On October 27, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Deng Huali from the No. 9 Middle School of Yongjing County in Gansu Province was illegally arrested by police from the Yongjing County Political and Judicial Committee and the Yongjing County Police Department in Gansu Province.

1. Current Situation of Detained Falun Gong Practitioners in Nanchang County, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province

On October 12, 2005, eleven Falun Gong practitioners from Nanchang County, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province were sharing their experiences in one practitioner's home, when local State Security Agents arrived. The agents ransacked the practitioner's house and illegally arrested and detained all of the practitioners. Among the practitioners, Ms. Chen Yulian, Ms. Gong Juru and Mrs. Li Gendi are still detained in Nanchang County, Nanchang City Police Station. Mrs. Li Gendi's husband (66 years old), is now taking care of their three granddaughters all by himself. The poor man is exhausted and ill, with blood in his stool. Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Hu Mitao, Ms. Zhou Yuxiu and Xiong Guoying (gender unknown) were rejected by the police station and sent to a brainwashing class. Each was extorted of 3000 yuan as "tuition." The other five practitioners have been released after paying 5000 yuan each to the Nanchang City Police Department.

2. Police Officers Yao Xuejun and Dong Fangchu from Hong'an City, Hubei Province, Continue Their Evil Doings

On September 28, 2005, police officer Dong Fangchu (male), from Hong'an City, Hubei Province, illegally forced Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jiang Zhongyin into a vehicle and took him to the No. 2 Police Station. Police officers Yao Xuejun, Dong Fangchu and Liu Quankun tortured Mr. Jiang Zhongyin for three to four hours before they locked him inside the police station. They also violently force-fed Mr. Jiang Zhongyin when he carried out a hunger strike to protest the persecution. On October 11, 2005, Mr. Jiang Zhongyin asked the police to return the items that they had taken from him when they illegally searched his home. In response, Yao Xuejun and Dong Fangchu dragged and beat Mr. Jiang Zhongyin all the way from the sixth floor to outside of the first floor.

3. Crimes Committed by Scoundrel Xiong Changyong and Others at the Brainwashing Class of Guang'an City, Sichuan Province

In June 2005, the evil CCP thugs, Xiong Changyong, Su Cuihua and Yu Xiaofu (all male), from Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, started a new cycle of harassment and persecution towards Falun Gong practitioners held in a brainwashing class. They arrested seventeen Falun Gong practitioners and started a three-month brainwashing session. They monitored the practitioners' behaviors, restricted their freedoms, held them in a sealed room and forced them to watch movies that slandered Falun Gong. They attempted to force everyone to write the three statements and brutally beat all practitioners who refused. They used all kinds of crooked reasoning and heretical ideals to force practitioners to give up their practice. Those who refused to give up were sent to psychiatric hospitals or forced labor camps. Among the seventeen practitioners who were detained there, three practitioners have been sent to psychiatric hospitals, one was sent to a forced labor camp, ten claimed to be "reformed," and the three others remained steadfast in their beliefs.

1. Jiaohe City 610 Office and Police Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners

Since October 2005, the Jiaohe City, Jilin Province, 610 Office and the police have harassed and illegally arrested many practitioners. We have learned that practitioners Mr. Lu Qiang, Ms. Qu Jinfang, Mr. Zhang Guosheng, Ms. Gu Fengqin and two other practitioners (names unknown) were detained in the Jiaohe City Detention Center. Because Mr. Lu Qiang refused to cooperate, he has been locked in the small cell (1). Mr. Zhang Guosheng's home was ransacked, which deeply disturbed his family.

2. Qianxi County (Hebei Province) The CCP, 610 Office, and Police Persecute Practitioners

On October 24, 2005, practitioner Ms. Ji Shuying clarified the truth. For this, the police from Baimiaozi Station arrested her and ransacked her home. She is now detained in the Qianxi County Detention Center. On October 13, 2005, practitioners Mr. Liu Delai and Mr. Huo Qingsheng from Shangying Township were both arrested. Mr. Liu Delai was released after being fined 2,000 yuan. Mr. Huo Qingsheng escaped but has been forced to become homeless in order to avoid further persecution.

3. Recent Crimes Committed by Laizhou City 610 Office in Shandong Province

The Laizhou 610 Office has recently been aggressively arresting practitioners. The practitioners have been sent to the Dianzi Brainwashing Center located in Laizhou City. We have learned that fellow practitioners Luan Shihai, his wife Wang Youqing, Ms. Liu Yuexiang, and Ms. Zhang Xiuqin have all been arrested, and their homes have been ransacked. Liazhou City 610 Office personnel picked up practitioner Ms. Wu Shuju directly after her term ended at the forced labor camp, and took her to the brainwashing center. She was not allowed to return home. Ms. Shi Lunyu was released on September 1, 2005, from the forced labor camp. Planning to put Ms. Shi Lunyu on trial, the Laizhou City 610 Office recently deceived her husband into signing his name on a form.

(1) The "small cell" torture involves locking a solitary detainee a very small call. The guards handcuff the victim's wrists in a fixed position behind the back. The person can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. Only half of a regular meal is served. Rats run around at night. Detainees must urinate and defecate in the cell. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.
