129 Deaths Confirmed Since January 2007 (Graphic Photos) -- Brief Summaries of Each Death Case Present Grim Evidence of Stepped Up Persecution of Falun Gong as Chinese Communists "Prepare" for the Olympics (Graphic Photos) Compiled from previously published Minghui/Clearwisdom reports (Clearwisdom.net) The following is a list of the 129 Falun Gong practitioners confirmed to have died between January 1, 2007 and March 20, 2008 as a direct result of persecution they suffered at the hands of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities. Each of the 129 cases is briefly outlined below. As further evidence of the intensified persecution Falun Gong faces in the run-up to the Beijing Olympics, 1,878 practitioners were reported arrested in the first ten weeks of 2008 alone. Read More on FalunInfo.net Please note: While the total confirmed number of deaths stands in the low 3,000's, the actual number is thought to be many, many times higher. The CCP keeps tight-fisted control of such information, and our sources in China risk imprisonment and torture for compiling and submitting these death cases to the Minghui/Clearwisdom website. Note: In each case below, the first number signifies its count in the death toll since January 2007. The second number (in parentheses) is a reference to the list of all confirmed deaths since the persecution began in 1999. The English translation of this list is maintained on a webpage at http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/special_column/death_cases/death_list.html#death. For example, the first case is the 129th since January 2007, and the 3149th case confirmed since the persecution began in 1999 Name: Zhang Chun Gender: Age: When: Around 3/18-3/20/2008 Location: died after a few days detention in Wuhan, Hubei province Practitioner Zhang Chun (gender unknown) lived in Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. On January 26, 2008, police blocked their vehicle on their way home, arrested them, and took them directly to the Tongzhou District Detention Center. Eleven days later, on February 6, 2008, their family received notice to come quickly to visit Mr. Yu in the Qinghe Emergency Center. When his family got there, Mr. Yu was already dead, and his body was covered with a white sheet. A breathing machine mask was still on his face, but his legs were ice cold. The doctor told his family that he died from being on a hunger strike with diabetes, but his family said he had been very healthy and didn't have diabetes. The police requested a quick cremation of his body, but his family refused and asked to have an autopsy done. Their request was denied. The police threatened his family that if they "made trouble," their freedom would be restricted. The police first were going to allow his wife to attend the funeral, but then changed their mind and said she was not allowed. She was quickly transferred to the Beijing Detention Center (the so called "Seventh Branch," which normally detains severe criminals). Mr. Yu's body is still in the Qinghe Emergency Center. Mr. Yu graduated from the French Department at Beijing University, was fluent in several languages, and was very artistic. He had a good voice and sang with a band at hotels. He was on his way home from a performance when he and his wife were arrested. Ms. Xu Na is an expert on painting and packaging decorations. The couple had been detained multiple times, their vehicle confiscated, and their home ransacked. Ms. Xu Na had just been released from prison after being there for more than one year. The police ransacked her home and she was then taken to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center. Later she was detained at the Chengdu City Detention Center. On February 1, 2008, the Domestic Security Division of Wuhou District Police Department issued an "arrest warrant" for Ms. Zhou, although she had already been in custody for five months. She went on hunger strike to protest the persecution. On February 5, 2008, guards took her to the Qingyang District People's Hospital. On March 10, 2008, a friend of Ms. Zhou heard a Domestic Security Agent of Wuhou District Police Department say that Ms. Zhou was dying. State Security agents in Sichuan Province Police Department ordered that she not be released. The police replied, "Let her die where she is." Ms. Zhou died at 5:30 a.m. on March 13, 2008. Ms. Zhou was illegally arrested six times since July 1999, and she was detained three times at the Sichuan Province (Nanmusi) Women's Forced Labor Camp. She endured all sorts of torture and spent a total of 856 days in detention. From September 7 to September 19, 2002, she was tortured in Qingyang District Hospital. From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day she was handcuffed and shackled. http://clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2008/3/23/95623.html 125 (3143) Name: Xu Huibi Gender: female Age: 63 When: 3/7/2008 Location: Died after being tortured and overworked in a Chongqing City Prison Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Xu Huibi, 63, was a retired senior teacher from the Southwest Aluminum Limited Corp. Elementary School. On September 1, 2003, Jiulongpo District Domestic Security agent Chen Gang (male), and other officers from the Xipeng Town Police Station, and the District Police Department arrested Ms. Xu at her home and took her to be interrogated at the Town Police Station. Because she did not give them any information or renounce Dafa, they detained her in the Huayan District Detention Center. Ms. Xu persisted in doing the Falun Dafa exercises while being held in the Detention Center, and was tortured with brutal force-feeding because of it. The torture caused severe damage to her mental and physical health, yet the police still sentenced her to four years in prison and took her to the Chongqing City Yongchuan Women's Prison. In the prison, Xu Huibi was assigned to forced labor in the plant that has toxic gases. It was difficult to breathe, and she was forced to finish a certain amount of work each day. Ms. Xu was brutally tortured until she was very weak, and her feet were in extreme pain, causing her to be unable to walk. Even under these conditions, the prison doctor still refused to let her rest, saying that she was fine for labor. Two other prisoners dragged her by her arms to the plant every day. She became emaciated, she could not walk or eat, and had difficulty breathing. The poisonous gases caused severe lung dysfunction, and also damaged other organs. On August 31, 2007, the prison administration finally ordered her family to come and pick her up. By this time, Ms. Xu could not take care of herself and there was no hope of recovery. She died soon after being released, on March 7, 2008. During her detention, Ms. Xu's employer stopped her retirement salary payments, and refused to treat her like other retired senior teachers. (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2008/3/18/95449.html) 124 (3142) Name: Gu Jianmin Gender: female Age: 53 When: 3/13/2008 Location: Tortured to death 13 days after arrested in Yangjing Police Station in Pudong New District, Shanghai Gu Jianmin Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Gu Jianmin, 53, lived in the 13th Building-Apt. 601, 400 Lane, Yangguangxincun Neighborhood, Qishan Street, Pudong New District. She was sent to a forced labor camp for one year in June 2006 for clarifying the truth. On March 1, 2008, she was again arrested by officers from the Yangjing Police Station in Pudong New District, and they tortured her until she died on March 13, 2008. On March 13, 2008, an agent of the Pudong New District 610 Office called Ms. Gu's husband, saying that she was not well, and that he should come and process a medical parole. They even asked which hospital he wished to take her to, then they deceived her husband into going to the Pudong New District Police Department, and the Neighborhood Administration, to do the medical parole paper work. This process dragged on until 3 p.m. Some unknown person had him sign an arrest warrant during this time period. Upon arriving at the hospital, they first forced him to again sign an arrest warrant. When he found Ms. Gu in the Gastric lavage room, her eyes were protruding, pupils enlarged, and she was bleeding from the mouth, but no one was taking care of her. Her husband knelt down in front of the doctors and begged them to save his wife. The doctor conducted a rather quick attempt at a rescue, then he declared that she was dead. In such a short time of only thirteen days, a perfectly healthy person was tortured to death. There were more than thirty "610 Office" agents present, and some of them were plainclothes officers. The hospital's security guards were waiting in the hospital room, and took Ms. Gu's body to the morgue while some of the others surrounded her husband to restrain him. Ms. Gu's husband was very angry. He loudly declared that he will find out who the killers were. All of the agents quickly fled, and only some of the plainclothes police officers were hiding in the crowd. Ms. Gu's husband could not find any of the agents. The doctor told him that Ms. Gu was dying when she arrived at the hospital. The hospital issued a dying certificate (which Chinese doctors issue to notify family about patients that are terminal), which should be signed by the immediate family, but was signed by an unknown person. Pudong District 610 Office, and Pudong New District Detention Center are responsible for Ms. Gu's death. The crime was witnessed by doctors, nurses, patients, and their families. They took the dying Ms. Gu to the hospital, then cheated her husband by tricking him to agree to a medical parole in an attempt to clear themselves of the responsibility for her death. (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2008/3/19/95495.html) 123 (3141) Name: Sun Guanzhou Gender: male Age: 62 When: 3/9/2008 Location: Tortured to death only 6 days after arrested in a police custody, Henan Province Mr. Sun Guanzhou, 62 and a Falun Gong practitioner, lived in Yuzhou City, Henan Province. On March 3, 2008, three domestic security agents and three other agents ransacked his home, claiming they were checking for computer viruses. They instead arrested him and took him to the city detention center. Only seven days later he was dead. Mr. Sun Guanzhou Mr. Sun was a professor of Chinese at Yuzhou City Education College, where employed teachers take courses. At around 9 a.m. on March 3, 2008, Mr. Sun was eating at home when Public Security agents Xia Yuxiao, Geng Sontao, Zhao Naicheng and three other agents ransacked his home using the excuse of checking his computer for viruses and arrested him. They had no warrants. They took him to the city detention center that same night. On the morning of March 6, 2008, symptoms of Mr. Sun Guanzhou's old diseases suddenly reappeared, and the police notified his wife. She and they took him to Beiguan Hospital. The doctor said that he had asthma and high blood pressure, and his condition was not suitable for remaining in detention. His wife demanded that he be admitted to the hospital, but the secret agents would not allow it. His family then asked agent Geng Songtao to release Mr. Sun. Geng Songtao demanded 25 thousand yuan. Mr. Sun's wife could only come up with five thousand yuan, which Geng refused, saying it was not enough to get Mr. Sun released and that "I don't make the decision." At around 8 p.m. on March 9, 2008, Mr. Sun's wife received a phone call to return to the hospital. When she arrived, she saw Mr. Sun's cold body. She was distraught! Agents tried to keep her from the body and tried to force her to sign the papers to have his body cremated. She cried out, "I want him alive!" Then she fainted. All the agents quickly escaped, leaving her in the morgue. On the afternoon of March 10, 2008, Mr. Sun's wife went to the hospital again to see his body, but the agents refused to allow her to see her dead husband. They again tried to force her to sign the cremation papers. Mr. Sun's wife has tried to get help from lawyers. All the lawyers know this is typical of the persecution, so no one has dared to accept her as a client. She was arrested multiple times because she kept her faith in Falun Dafa, and she was sentenced to six and a half years in prison after she was arrested on May 25, 2005. Ms. Chen was detained in the Sichuan Province Women's Prison located in Jianyang City. The Prison Administration released her at the end of July 2007 because she was dying from the brutal mistreatment. Ms. Chen never recovered and died on February 24, 2008. (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2008/3/16/95411.html) 121 (3139) Name: Zou Jiqin Gender: female Age: 46 When: 2/29/2008 Location: Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. Ms. Zou Jiqin lived in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. On May 11, 2002, Ms. Zou was arrested again, and once more detained in Jiamusi City Detention Center. She went on a hunger strike to protest , only to be tortured by being force-fed while tied on the floor with her four limbs stretched apart. She almost died from this torture. She was later taken to Jiamusi City Labor Camp to serve out her three-year term. Four times her hands were cuffed behind her back onto a metal bed frame. Five times she was tortured with the "Big Back Cuff," an excruciating torture. She was also subjected to many other tortures, including being forced to sit on a wire spool (a very rough surface), not allowed to use the toilet, subjected to long-term sleep deprivation, forced to do hard labor, and subjected to freezing temperatures. The guards intentionally opened the window at night to make it even colder. When the guards saw that this brutal treatment still could not force Ms. Zou to accept their brainwashing, they decided to torture her with the "Big Back Cuff" for an entire afternoon. Ms. Zou's arms lost all feeling and swelled up as thick as loaves of bread. Her feet had frostbite and she began coughing. Ms. Zou passed out due to the extreme pain. Liu put her down on the cement floor, then had the camp doctor look at her. The camp doctor said there was no danger that she could die. Liu then put her back in the "Big Back Cuff" position for another entire afternoon. He swung the handcuffs to aggravate the pain. They assigned a collaborator to continue trying to brainwash Ms. Zou. They tortured her the next day again with the "Big Back Cuff" and used electric batons to shock her. After this torture session, Ms. Zou was unable to take care of herself for a long time. In March 2003, Ms. Zou refused to write the "Four Statements." She was again tortured with the "Big Back Cuff," by guards Li Xiujin (female) and Li Yongbo (male). In the summer of 2003, Ms. Zou again refused to comply with the authorities' evil demands, so guards Liu Yadong and Li Xiujin forced her to sit on the wire spool again, with both hands on her knees. They didn't allow her to move one bit. If she did move, they punched and kicked her. Ms. Zou was forced to sit this way from 6:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m. for several days. Her buttocks bled, and her legs and feet swelled. Ms. Zou was as thin as a skeleton. She could not sleep well and had difficulty breathing. She was still forced to do hard labor in this condition. The production materials that detainees had to work with contained toxic ingredients with a very strong odor. This caused Ms. Zou's health, already compromised, to deteriorate further. Ms. Zou was in extremely poor health when she was finally released. Her family circumstances were very difficult life as a result of the persecution. Ms. Zou lost her job, and her husband was forced into early retirement. Their child needed to go to school and her parents were forced to leave home to avoid being arrested. Ms. Zou had to do odd jobs to make a living. She never recovered physically. On February 29, 2008, Ms. Zou died at the age of 46. (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2008/3/15/95375.html) 120 (3138) Name: Wang Guiming Gender: male Age: 40 When: 2/29/2008 Location: Tortured to death 3 days after sent to Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp, Jilin Province Wang Guiming Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Guiming, 40, lived in Tonghua City, Jilin Province. On the afternoon of February 13, 2008, Mr. Wang was selling baked sweet potatoes at the Hongyuan Market. At 2 p.m., policeman Zhang Xiaoxu from the Xinzhan Station arrested Mr. Wang. Police officers interrogated Mr. Wang for seven hours. Several officers ransacked his home at 4 p.m. At around 9:20 p.m., the police took him to the Dongchang District Police Department, completed his paper work, then detained him in the Changliu Detention Center. On February 17, 2008, he was taken to Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp and detained in the Xinsheng (Brainwashing) Ward. According to sources, Mr. Wang went on a hunger strike to protest, and as a result he was force-fed and electric baton shocked. He died on February 29, 2008. On March 3, 2008, the camp administrators allowed Mr. Wang's family to see his body but not allowed to take photos. His family found two dry cuts on his head, one was 10cm and the other was 11cm but blood washed off. They also found an egg size of dark bruise on his left cheek, another one on the back of his head. There was a 10cm size of dark bruise on his left chest near to his heart, and another one on his right chest. There was an egg size of dark bruise and injury at his anus area. Obviously he died because many electric batons shocked him for a long time. His family wanted to take his body home but was not allowed. The camp administrators refused the family to visit with the guards who had witnessed his death. His family felt they had no choice but to try to file a lawsuit with the Chengjiao District Court in Changchun City. They tried to do this for two days but in vain. Mr. Wang's wife now under the pressure and dare not go home, because policemen try to arrest her. (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2008/3/12/95285.html) 119 (3137) Name: Chen Baofeng Gender: male Age: 43 When: 3/3/2008 Location: Turtured to death only 8 days after arrested in Chaoyang City First Detention Center, Liaoning Province Mr. Chen Baofeng, 43, lived in Liujiazi Town, Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province. On February 24, 2008, he was driving his taxi to take some friends out of town when the police stopped his vehicle, and arrested him and his passengers. After being held for several days, they were transferred to the Chaoyang City First Detention Center (also called the Wujiawa Detention Center) on March 3, 2008. Mr. Chen was killed the same night, and thus far, the family has still not been allowed to see his body. Chaoyang City Police Department Deputy Director Zhang Minghua said that the provincial police department gave orders to violently interrogate these six practitioners. When their family went to visit them, an officer said, "If they refuse to cooperate, we will force-feed them until they die." When Mr. Chen Baofeng was killed in police custody, the Chaoyang City Police Department did not notify his family. After Zhang Minghua met with the Political Security Office and the detention center, they claimed that Mr. Chen had died of a sudden heart attack. Mr. Chen Baofeng Mr. Chen's family pointed out that he never had heart problems before and that he was a very healthy man. How could he have died only eight days after being arrested if it was not the result of police brutality? If he died of sickness, why didn't they notify his family when he was ill? Why have they refused to allow the family to see his body? (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2008/3/9/95175.html) 118 (3136) Name: Zhang Zhijun Gender: male Age: 54 When: 2/24/2008 Location: Tortured to Death in Xi'an City Prison, Shaanxi Province Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Zhijun was from Nanchong City, Sichuan Province. He had been illegally arrested and incarcerated because he practiced Falun Gong. On February 23, 2008, his family received a call that Mr. Zhang had died, and they rushed to the Xi'an City Prison in Shaanxi Province. The prison administration refused to let the family see Mr. Zhang's body. Finally, under the family's persistent demands, they were allowed to see Zhang Zhijun's body. His face was so bloated that it was very difficult to look at. There were obvious purple and blue rope marks on his neck. His family demanded legal representation, but lawyers present said that the higher officials had already ordered legal counsel. No one dared to accept this case. The police cremated the body on February 24, 2008. (http://clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2008/3/23/95626.html) 117 (3135) Name: Bai Yingjie Gender: male Age: 56 When: 8/30/2007 Location: Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province Mr. Bai Yingjie, 56-years-old, was a worker of No. 2 Chemical Factory. On August 30, 2002, When Mr. Bai and his wife visited his neighbor, he was taken into custody. On October 24, 2003, his family was notified that he was sentenced to three years in a labor camp, but the sentencing followed no official procedure. For the first week he was taken to the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp for so-called "training." Then he was transferred to the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp. In the labor camp, the evil guards tried to brainwash him. The guards hit him with electric batons and tortured him. Meantime, he was forced into slave labor until midnight each day. Due to the brutal mistreatment, he again developed hypertension. His blood pressure was 260/180. He also developed serious heart problems. Even so, he was never allowed to take a break from his work. When he could physically no longer work, he was still made to accompany the others and could only rest when everyone had finished their work at midnight. Mr. Bai Yingjie On December 1, 2004, Mr. Bai became critically ill. To shirk responsibility for his deteriorating condition, the authorities ordered his family and workplace to pick him up. During his detention in the labor camp, his salary from his workplace was stopped. After he was released, officers of the local police station and staff members of the residential district office came to his home to harass and threaten him into writing a statement. All of this brought about huge pressure on Mr. Bai and his family. Consequently, his health took a turn for the worse and he passed away on August 30, 2007. (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2008/2/29/94918.html) 116 (3134) Name: Liu Zenglin Gender: male Age: 70 When: 2/9/2008 Location: Yuxiaozi Village, Gucheng County, Hebei Province Mr. Liu Zenglin, who was over 70 years old, lived in Yuxiaozi Village, Gucheng County, Hebei Province. In June 2004, officers of the Domestic Security Division in Gucheng County Police Department took him into custody and detained him at the Gucheng County Detention Center. There, they tried to force him to write a statement renouncing Falun Gong, but Mr. Liu refused to do so. Consequently, he was brutally tortured until he displayed symptoms of a stroke, he could no longer take care of himself, and he could not walk without other people's support. After being detained for over six months, the authorities from the Gucheng County Police Department and the 610 Office colluded with authorities from the local court and sentenced Mr. Liu to five years of imprisonment. He was taken to the Hengshui City Prison, which refused to accept him because of his poor health condition. He was brought back to the Gucheng County Detention Center. Officers bribed authorities from the Tangshan City Forced Labor Camp into accepting Mr. Liu, who was then paralyzed and over 70 years old. After enduring two years of brutal persecution in the labor camp, Mr. Liu became extremely weak and emaciated. To avoid taking any responsibility for Mr. Liu's condition, the authorities at the labor camp released him for medical treatment in December 2006. When Mr. Liu returned home, he was very weak, could not eat, and coughed terribly every day. In September 2007, the authorities from the Tangshan Forced Labor Camp dispatched three guards to Mr. Liu's home, intending to take him back to the labor camp for further mistreatment. When the guards realized that Mr. Liu was ill and near the end of his life, they reluctantly relinquished their mission and left. After being tortured both mentally and physically, Mr. Liu died an unjust death on February 9, 2008. She went to Beijing to appeal in December 2000, was arrested by 610 Office agents and then sentenced to one year of forced labor. In December 2001, Ms. Zhang went to Beijing to appeal again. She was arrested and sentenced to one year of forced labor again, but the labor camp officials did not dare to accept her due to her solid faith. The detention center administrators transferred her to another region's detention center, where she wore heavy ankle shackles for five months, causing her ankles to bleed and fester. She was forced to take care of a death row prisoner. She was released when she could no longer move as a result of the brutal treatment. In July 2002, the police arrested her and took her to the Xi'an City brainwashing center. She was later transferred to Ankang (Mental) Hospital. She was inhumanly tortured and injected with unknown drugs. After only one injection, she felt like she was having stroke and could not move half of her body. She became totally paralyzed that same night and lost consciousness. Those in charge still would not leave her alone and ordered six more injections, causing her female organs to start to fester. By September 2002, Ms. Zhang could no longer walk and had become mentally disordered; she was near death. The hospital officials notified her family to pick her up. She was totally paralyzed, could not recognize anyone, and the lower part of body was severely infected. Although she was in such terrible condition, her home and phone were monitored. She died on February 1, 2008. The court requested money from her family, saying it was for her medical treatment. They took Ms. Zhang to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison in Shenyang City. Around February 7, 2008 (Chinese New Year), the Prison Administration called her family to pick her up. Mr. Yi Fuquan was first detained in the Harbin City Third Prison then transferred to the Tailai Prison on July 1, 2004. On July 10, 2004, the Reform Office Chair Jiang Haitao and officer Liu (given name unknown) spoke with Mr. Yi and tried to force him give up practicing Falun Gong. Mr. Yi absolutely refused. They saw that he refused to accept the brainwashing, so they had prisoners put 35-pound ankle shackles on Mr. Yi and forced him to stand under the burning sun. Guard Yu Hongtao directed prisoners Zhang Liantao and Wang Wenzhong to force Mr. Yi to walk rapidly with the shackles. If Mr. Yi did not walk fast enough, Zhang Liantao would kick him very hard. She was arrested and taken back to Tianjin by Gaocun Township police and detained at the Wuqing District Detention Center. During the detention she was secretly tried. The first trial ended with her telling about her own experience of how good Dafa is. At the second trial, the authorities asked her to stop going to Beijing to appeal. Ms. Xue insisted that she would not give up cultivating. The Wuqing District court sentenced her to four years in prison. In the prison, Ms. Xue protested her treatment, refused to write repentance statements and went on a hunger strike for 10 months. Vice Director Li Hong arranged four prisoners to watch Ms. Xue. They handcuffed her day and night, fed her through a tube and did not remove it. They did not allow her to go to the restroom. In the cold winter they did not put any covers on her and her face became purple from the freezing temperature. Sometimes they even took her clothes off and turned fans toward her. In July 2005, Ms. Xue Guiqing was very weak because of the torture she suffered. Prison staff did not want to take responsibility and informed Ms. Xue's family to take her home on bail for medical treatment. After returning home, Ms. Xue practiced Falun Gong and soon recovered. During that time, prison guards came to her home many times, but she did not cooperate with them. In February 2006 she was taken back to the prison. On March 14, 2007, Tianjin Female Prison informed Ms. Xue's family to take her home. By this time she was nearly dead and weighed less than 70 pounds. Two days later Ms. Xue passed away. He lived at Dianshe in Changping Village, Yimin Township, Yanbian County. In December 1999 he went to the local city government to appeal and explain the truth about Falun Gong. Then he went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in April 2000. He was arrested and held, then sent to a brainwashing center twice. The police arrested Mr. Zhang in March 2004 and held him at the Detention Center of Yanbian County. During the detention, the National Security Team of Yanbian County took him out of the center and tortured him to coerce a confession. The agents handcuffed him to the frame of the window for three whole days. Hanging there, he could touch the ground only with his toes. Agents kicked and punched Mr. Zhang. They slapped his face and hit him in the face with a full bottle of water; they also stuck the water bottle into his mouth. They beat his face till it was black and blue and his mouth bled. They tortured him until he was unconscious many times. Sometimes it rained at night, and the rain drenched him totally. Chilly winds almost froze him, and he shivered the whole night. The agents took turns torturing him, interrogating him, and attempting to coerce a confession. When Mr. Zhang lost consciousness, the agents pulled his hand up and imprinted his fingerprints on the interrogation record. When the guards released him from the window frame, Mr. Zhang could not stand and his wrists were cut and covered with blood. He couldn't walk after they sent him back to the detention center; he was only able to crawl in the cell. They never sent him to the hospital for medical treatment. The 610 Office authorities still didn't feel that they had enough evidence for their report, so they had the inmates torture and interrogate Mr. Zhang for a confession. After the police authorities fabricated the evidence, the Yanbian County Court brought Mr. Zhang to trial in October 2004. He was carried to the court by prisoners. The court sentenced him to seven and a half years. After practicing Falun Dafa, Mr. Zhang fully recovered from a partial paralysis. Then he was again paralyzed after being tortured. The authorities released him after six months as bailed out for medical reasons. Four officers lead by Li Faming (male) of Hongge Town Police Station went to Mr. Zhang's home and took him out of bed on September 8, 2006, when Mr. Zhang had not yet recovered. They took him to Wumaping Prison in Muchuan County, Sichuan Province. Around March 20, 2007, the prison authorities called Mr. Zhang's daughter and asked for a sweater, sweatshirts, thick pants, shoes, etc. for a change of clothes. Then on March 30, 2007, between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m., the prison phoned the family saying that Mr. Zhang had contracted septicemia and some kind of infection. He died on March 31, 2007. However, he was beaten up terribly by a policeman named Wei Ming from the Xinhua Street Police Station in Qiaoxi District, Shijiazhuang City. Mr. Luan was handcuffed to the railing of the second floor balcony and was subjected to torture intended. Mr. Luan was then locked up in the Beijiao Detention Center for 30 days. On October 2002, Luan Fusheng was arrested because he practiced Falun Gong and printed truth-clarification information. On the 7th of July 2003, Luan Fusheng was sentenced to 11 years in prison by the Wanbolin District Court in Taiyuan City. On October 2003, he was taken to Cell 13 of the Jinzhong Prison, Shanxi Province in early November 2003. He was tortured horribly, both mentally and physically under inhuman living conditions. Luan Fusheng's health deteriorated. At the end of 2005, his diabetes and hypertension flared. He became very ill and emaciated. It was impossible for him to walk without assistance, and he became short of breath when talking. The first notice of his critical illness was released by the 109th Military Hospital of Taiyuan. In February 2006, Luan Fusheng had complex diabetes syndrome, together with hypertension and pleuritis. He looked like a skeleton, with both legs severely swollen and he could hardly breathe while talking. Mr. Luan was taken to the emergency department of the 109th Military Hospital in Taiyuan. A second notice of his critical illness was released. Mr. Luan's family repeatedly requested his release, but the prison denied all requests, claiming "Falun Gong practitioners are not eligible for medical parole." On February 3, 2007, Luan Fusheng's family saw during a visit that Mr. Luan was being carried on the back of another prisoner. His health condition was extremely bad; he could not speak at all. His family requested medical parole again. On the 26th of February, Luan Fusheng was sent to the emergency department of the 109th Military Hospital where he was diagnosed with complex diabetes syndrome and tuberculosis. On the morning of February 28, 2007, a third notice of critical illness was released by the hospital. On the 21st of March 2007, Luan Fusheng was so close to death that the Prison Administration finally released him from the hospital because they did not want to be held responsible for his death. Luan Fusheng was taken from the Jinzhong Prison to the Weiming Neighborhood Police Station in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province under the custody of four policemen. During the CCP's extremely brutal persecution against Falun Gong, Mr. Liu Jingming had been illegally imprisoned, sent to forced labor camp and tortured. On February 8, 2007, he was detained at Tailai Prison. It took wardens at Tailai Prison only 46 days to torture thirty nine year-old Mr. Liu to death. At 7 p.m. on March 24, 2007, Warden Ji Hengtai of the Training Unit at Tailai Prison phoned Liu Jingming's home. He claimed that Mr. Liu died after "jumping out of the window of the building" at 1:40 a.m. on March 24. At 11 a.m. on March 25, some of Liu's family members went to Tailai Prison. Guard Ji Hengtai claimed that Mr. Liu Jingming was held in the training cell on the 3rd floor. At 1:15 am on March 24, Mr. Liu Jingming asked to go to the toilet. Two prisoners were on duty and one was smoking outside the cell. The prisoner alleged that he heard the sound of the iron window opening. He went inside to grab Mr. Liu Jingming's right hand. Mr. Liu Jingming escaped and jumped out of the window through the open iron bars. Five minutes later, they carried Liu Jingming to the prison hospital. Mr. Liu Jingming died at 1:40 am on March 24, 2007. His family deeply grieved, asked indignantly, "Since Mr. Liu Jingming died at 1:40 a.m., why did the prison staff not notify the family until 7 p.m.? What did you do for those 18 hours? Can iron bars be so easily broken loose at the prison? Besides, Mr. Liu Jingming endured great suffering from forced-transformation, was tortured daily and was emaciated. Where did he get the strength to break open the iron bars? Mr. Liu Jingming's knees were purple and black. There was blood and other marks on his knees. This was certainly caused by long term kneeling." The prison could not answer. Before the persecution Liu Jingming's body frozen at the Tailai Prison Hospital When the family saw Mr. Liu Jingming's body, they were shocked. The body was horribly mangled. The right side of the head was caved in. The face and entire body was horribly damaged. The woolen sweater and pants he wore were soaked with blood, but his underwear and underpants did not show any bloodstains. Mr. Liu Jingming's elder sister said that this was not his underwear. The left leg showed signs of possible torture. The right leg had a hole, which was approximately 5 to 6 centimeters in diameter. The right leg was twisted and both knees were purple and black and showed coagulated blood. According to an anonymous source, Mr. Liu Jingming and other Falun Gong practitioners were taken to the Tailai Prison on February 8, 2007. They were first put in the Training Center to undergo forced "transformation" through torture. On March 22, 2007, "Touring Speakers" went to Tailai Prison to slander Dafa, Mr. Liu Jingming, Mr. Ren Yingqun and other two Falun Gong practitioners stood up to expose the lies. They were brutally tortured afterwards. Wardens and criminal inmate Zhou Lixin beat him to death. Because his body had many injury marks, they could not claim him as "sudden death of heart failure" to deceive his family, so the prison fabricated the "jumping out of window." The prison put Zhou Lixin into a confined compartment so that the truth would not be revealed. Officials at the Fusong County Politics and Law Section sentenced him to two years of forced labor and took him to the Baishan Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Wang Weidong was later transferred to the Chaoyanggou Labor Camp, to be held for two years. In chronological order, he was held at Division 1, Division 6 and Division 5, where guards Wang Tao and Zhu beat him many times and tortured him. They forced him to sit on a bare wooden plank for long hours and did not let him talk. If he said anything, the guards would savagely beat him, and he was forced to live in terror and isolation. Once, the guards shocked him with electric batons for four hours and slapped his face until he lost hearing in both ears, which lasted a long time. They whipped him with a belt, and a rattan strip dipped with water. After the skin broke from beatings, the guards rubbed salt into his wounds before resuming the whipping, which caused excruciating pain. The guards also ordered the inmates to torture him. Wang Weidong was tortured until his face deformed, his abdomen and face were both severely swollen, and fluid dripped from his hands and feet. He went home in 2002 in a severely disabled state. On July 22, 1999, several policemen roughly forced Mr. Zhao into a police vehicle when he was practicing the Falun Gong exercises in front of Chifeng City Museum. They drove him and other practitioners to a mountain in a far-away Chifeng suburban area. Then they pushed him and the other practitioners out of the vehicle and left. The practitioners had to walk a long way home. On July 23, 1999, police chief Liu Qi from the Xitun local police station in the Hongshan District arrested Mr. Zhao at his home and took him to the police station. The police forced Mr. Zhao, in his seventies, to stay under the steaming hot sun until he fell over from heat exhaustion. One sympathetic policeman finally let him go home. In October 1999, Zhao Dianbin went to Beijing to appeal. The Beijing police arrested him and detained him in Huairou County (a Beijing suburb). Later they took Mr. Zhao to the Chifeng City Liaison Office in Beijing. Then he was taken back to Chifeng. On October 30, 2000, CCP personnel from the Hongshan District suddenly arrived at Mr. Zhao's residence to ransack his home and confiscate his personal belongings. They arrested him, his wife Mrs. Zou Reihuan, his son Mr. Zhao Hongyang, and daughter-in-law Mrs. Zhao Chunfeng. All of them were later cruelly tortured. Policeman Yang Liping and another officers tortured Mr. Zhao Dianbin. They used electric shocks and brutal beatings. In addition, they handcuffed him and then tightened the cuffs until he passed out. They then fabricated an oral confession and pressed his fingerprint on the paper while he was unconscious. After that, they used this falsified oral confession to implicate Mr. Zhao's daughter, Ms. Zhao Shuzhen, who worked in Beijing. This case provided false testimony for officials Bu Ren and others, who used it to torture Mr. Zhao's family. In addition, Yin Shouming from Tienan Police Station in the Hongshan District, Xu Caiyun from the Residential Committee, and Ma and Zou Jinglin from the Street Administration Office went to Mr. Zhao's home repeatedly, trying to drive him out of their jurisdiction. They came day and night to threaten him. They pounded on the door, and yelled wildly. His neighbors were horrified. In the afternoon of March 14, 2003, Mr. Wang Hongnan received three calls on his pager from a local practitioner, Mr. Yang Kezhi, so he went directly to Mr. Yang's home after work. As soon as he arrived at Mr. Yang's door, several police from the Youhao Police Station suddenly appeared and held him down and handcuffed him. Then they took him to the Youhao Police Station. After they were unable to get any information from questioning Mr. Wang, the police took off all of Mr. Wang's clothes, handcuffed him, and hung him from a window parapet by the cuff. Chief Li Jixiang took Mr. Wang's money from his pocket, totaling 800 yuan. That night, the police started to torture Mr. Wang. Chief Li Jixiang restrained Mr. Wang's head by using a chair and ordered four officers to tie Mr. Wang's arms and legs with rope and pull in four different directions. This torture dislocated Mr. Wang's shoulder. Because the police were still unable to get the information they wanted from Mr. Wang through the torture, they handcuffed him to a radiator and left him there.
