(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Qian Youyun was arrested on October 31, 2025. She is detained at the Dongxihu First Detention Center. She was scheduled to appear in the Hongshan District Court on May 12, 2026.
Xu Sijing and Huang Yingluo were arrested by officers from the Meiyuan Police Station on April 13, 2026. Their homes were ransacked. Xu is currently being held at the Qingling Detention Center. Huang has been taken to a brainwashing center.
Ms. Ding Zerong, in her 70s, was arrested by Beicheng Police Station officers on June 5, 2021. She was later sentenced to two years in prison by the Huangchuan County Court. Due to health reasons, she was denied admission by the detention center and allowed to serve time at home. However, bailiffs of the Huangchuan County Court arrested her on March 17, 2026, and took her to the Xinyang City Detention Center. She was transferred to the Xinxiang Women’s Prison in late April to serve time, even though her term had long expired.
Ms. Wei Chunli, 68, was heading out of town for a vacation with her husband and daughter on May 1, 2026. In the waiting room at the Harbin High-Speed Rail Station, two officers demanded to see her ID. After the officers determined that Ms. Wei was a Falun Gong practitioner, they immediately forced her to open her bag. They took all the paper bills that had “Falun Dafa is great” written on them. The two officers verbally abused the founder of Falun Gong and they also ordered Ms. Wei to sign a statement promising not to practice Falun Gong. Ms. Wei refused to comply and was detained at the railway station security office.
The two officers then contacted the police station in Acheng District, where Ms. Wei lives, and forced her husband to take them home for a search. The officers searched every room and confiscated three e-readers loaded with Falun Gong books.Ms. Wei was given five days of administrative detention at the Harbin Second Detention Center. She has since been released.
Ms. Liu Junmei’s home was ransacked by the police on May 8, 2026. Her printer and other items were confiscated. The police targeted her because she was recorded by surveillance cameras placing Falun Gong flyers on cars.
Ms. Han Xinhong was recorded by surveillance cameras while putting up Falun Gong informational stickers in downtown Yangquan City on April 18, 2026. The police arrested her after locating her through surveillance footage. She was given a 15-day detention, but the police refused to release her after the detention order expired.
Mr. Li Zhihua was arrested at home on December 3, 2025, and taken to the Yang County Lockup Center. He was released on bail on December 17. A staffer from the Hantai District Procuratorate called him on May 8, 2026, and ordered him to fill out a form. He refused to comply.
Two officers from the Xincheng Town Police Station barged into Mr. Li Jinyong’s home on April 19, 2026, and questioned him as to whether he was printing Falun Gong informational materials at home.
Three officers from the Liangjiaying Township Police Station broke into Ms. Feng Ling’s home on April 25. They ransacked the place and confiscated a computer, Falun Gong books, informational materials, and two radios.
That same day, the three officers also ransacked the homes of Ms. Xiao Peiying, Ms. Hei Yuxia, Ms. Zhang Cuiling, Ms. Han Xiuhong, and Ms. Zhou Aijun.
Ms. Li Fengshu, 73, was sentenced to one year in prison by the Huairou District Court on April 17, 2026. She is currently held at the Shunyi District Detention Center. Her prison term is scheduled to end on June 13, 2026.
Ms. Li was arrested by officers from the Huairou District Domestic Security Division and Quanhe Police Station in early June 2025, after she was recorded by surveillance cameras distributing Falun Gong materials. She was released on bail after 15 days at the Shunyi District Detention Center, but was arrested again and taken back into custody on June 28, 2025.
Ms. Zhao Xihua appeared in the Daoli District Court on April 23, 2026. No verdict was announced.
