(Minghui.org) Shen Yun New Era Company presented 11 performances in Japan’s Hachioji, Kamakura, and Kyoto from April 14–26, 2026.
Shen Yun New Era Company presented its fourth and last performance to a full house at the Kamakura Performing Arts Center in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, on the afternoon of April 19.
Shen Yun New Era Company presented its fifth and last performance at the ROHM Theatre Kyoto in Kyoto on the afternoon of April 26.
Message from the Taiwanese President

President Lai had earlier sent his congratulations and well wishes to Shen Yun when it performed in Taipei.
In his message to Shen Yun’s organizers in Japan, President Lai wrote, “I am pleased to learn that Shen Yun Performing Arts will tour Japan from April 17 to May 13 this year. I extend my sincere congratulations on this occasion.
“It is my hope that this grand event will help foster a spirit of inclusiveness among diverse communities, showcase the profound beauty of classical dance, broaden perspectives in artistic appreciation, and contribute to building a society enriched by truth, compassion, and beauty. I wish the event great success and all participants good health and happiness,” he added.
“A Comprehensive Artistic Feast”

Zushi City Council Chairman Haruaki Maruyama saw Shen Yun in Kamakura on April 18.
“Truly excellent! The accompaniment of the live orchestra and the outstanding expressiveness of the dancing – it is moving how much training and effort the artists truly contributed day after day. Along with the background that is connected to the stage, all the artistic elements blended as one and formed a comprehensive artistic feast,” he said.
“Today’s mankind is standing on the crossroads between virtue and vice, and good and evil. I believe the ultimate outcome will be toward the righteous path,” he said.
“True Magnificent China”

Fumitaka Nihei, District Council Member of Koto, a special ward of Tokyo, saw Shen Yun in Kyoto on April 22.
“The performance was powerful! The background and dancing perfectly combined and merged into one, thoroughly presenting the true, magnificent China in all its glory. Truly wonderful!” he said.
“The first program showing heavenly beings descending to establish a dynasty shares a connection with Japan’s ancient legends. It was the divine who established civilization on earth. But as time went by, people gradually forgot and also lost their true nature.
“We have truly lost many precious spiritual items. This is a theme that has to be faced by not only the Japanese, but the entire (human) society. The performance made me feel that humankind needs to reflect and find that pure heart from the beginning, and bring back the beautiful qualities that ‘humans’ should have,” he said.
“Moved Me Very Much”

Ken Takagi, owner of a network communications system integration company, saw Shen Yun in Kyoto on April 24.
“I had heard about the persecution they are currently experiencing under the Chinese communist regime. They still persisted in taking the stage despite this reality. This conviction was deeply transmitted to my heart and moved me very much,” he said.
“Today was my first time watching it. After personally witnessing everyone’s conviction on stage, I also wanted to put in efforts with the goals of world peace and benefiting others, even though what I can do might be insignificant,” he said.
“Spurs Our Creative Passion”

Aya Torii, an inheritance representative for Tango Chirimen, which is a traditional silk crepe, and beautician Noriyuki Kakeya saw Shen Yun in Kyoto on April 22.
“Outstanding, beautiful. The color combinations that are generally considered conflicting appeared very harmonious on stage. It was very impressive,” said Ms. Torii.
She said that Shen Yun’s color use also brought creative inspiration to her. “It makes one feel that we could also produce works like that and spurs our creative passion,” she said.
“Moved Me Deeply”

Circus director Hideki Kinoshita saw Shen Yun in Kyoto on April 22.
“Whether it was the costumes or Chinese music with traditional charm--everything was outstanding. Additionally, those challenges, techniques, and the performers’ beautiful movements all moved me deeply,” he said.
“I think that people need to do good deeds and accumulate virtue in order to receive divine protection. These teachings from ancient Buddhism, or ideas from Confucianism, these values are all wonderful. After seeing the performance, I once again felt their importance,” he said.
“I Truly Feel Fortunate”

Sho Izumi, a former lead performer of the Huis Ten Bosch Opera Company, saw Shen Yun in Kyoto on April 26.
“I fully felt it [the beauty of divine beings dancing]. Sacred and solemn. Everything was so beautiful--the peak of perfection. My soul was cleansed,” she said with tears.
“I have seen many performances. I can presumptuously say that I also have my own stage. I could deeply feel the artists’ conviction deep down, as well as that passion to forthrightly convey it. This is of considerable importance. They must have overcome countless hardships along the way.
“Not only did they garner widespread support, but they will soar even higher in the future. To be able to meet Shen Yun at this moment, I truly feel fortunate from the bottom of my heart,” she said.
“I Am Filled With Emotion”

Art troupe founder Ayame Tsuchiya saw Shen Yun in Kamakura on April 18.
“I am filled with emotion. I find it regrettable that such a precious culture was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. But Shen Yun revived it today, which is truly delightful,” she said.
“China has a long history and was a nation that emphasized spirituality and faith. People who are connected to the divine would also be connected to nature. Very natural, very beautiful.
“Shen Yun artists follow the values of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and continuously improve themselves. This is perhaps the path approaching divinity. I think Shen Yun truly demonstrated ‘the beauty of divine beings dancing.’
“I hope more people can come watch Shen Yun. I look forward to the early arrival of the day when Shen Yun can perform in China and be appreciated by Chinese people,” she said.
