(Minghui.org) Four Weihai City, Shandong Province residents are set to stand trial on April 23, 2026, for their shared faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.
Ms. Yu Jingtao, 56, Ms. Ding Huimin, and Ms. Xiao Bo, were arrested at a rental place on October 27, 2025, while binding calendars bearing Falun Gong messages. The arresting officers from the Jing District Domestic Security Office confiscated a large amount of Falun Gong materials and other personal belongings from the rental place.
The police put a black hood over Ms. Yu’s head during the arrest. They raided her home in the afternoon and seized her computer, printer, and Falun Gong books.
The three women were taken to a local detention center and placed under criminal detention.
The same domestic security office arrested Mr. Wang Deshui on November 27, 2025. They also raided his home. He and the three woman practitioners were then indicted and had their cases forwarded to the Rongcheng City Court. Rongcheng is under the jurisdiction of Weihai.
A court date was set for April 23, 2026. It is unclear whether the four practitioners will be tried together or separately on that day.
Prior to the latest persecution episode, Ms. Yu was given three years of forced labor in 2006 and served four and a half years in prison between October 2014 and April 2019. See the related reports for her past persecution.
