(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 43 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Li Yuju, Ms. Zhang Jie, and Ms. Quan Shumei were studying the Falun Gong teachings together at Ms. Wang Huimin’s home on January 7, 2026, when officers from the Taishan Road, Liyuan, and Fengtai Police Stations broke in and arrested them.
That day, Mr. Sun Changhe and Ms. Cui Xiangying were arrested at Ms. Hou Xiuzhen’s home, by officers from Dongge Police Station, also for studying the Falun Gong teachings together.
Ms. Hou and Ms. Cui were released on January 8. Ms. Wang was released on January 9. Ms. Li was placed under criminal detention on January 9. Ms. Quan was given seven days and Ms. Zhang ten days of administrative detention at Mencun Lockup. Mr. Sun’s situation isn’t clear.
Liu Yixiu, Liu Yurong, and Ms. Liu Jin’e were arrested on January 7, 2026, by six officers from the Muyudian Town Police Station and local domestic security office. Their homes were ransacked. The officers confiscated all of their Falun Gong books, copies of Minghui Weekly, and audio players.
Ms. Liu Meiying and Ms. Xu were arrested in early December 2025 by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Economic Development Zone.
Eight practitioners in their 70s and 80s were arrested at a subway station on December 13, 2025, on charges of illegal assembly. They were taken to the Jiang’an Police Department for interrogation and released that evening.
The police ransacked their homes that day. While searching Ms. Yang’s home, the officers confiscated 2,000 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them, 1,000 yuan in unmarked bills, a video player, and over a dozen blank USB drives.
Mr. Guo Qingwei was arrested at home on January 8, 2026. He was forced to have a physical exam and was found to be unfit for detention. He was released around 11 p.m.
Ms. Ding Chongju was arrested by Dongjiang Police Station officers on January 9, 2026, and was released that afternoon.
Mr. Zhang Baohua; his wife, Ms. Zhang Jiamin; their daughter-in-law, Ms. Wang Xiaodan; Mr. Yu Boqun and his wife Zhang Shufeng; and Ms. Zhang Huifang, all from the Baodi District, were arrested on December 3, 2025.
Mr. Yu was released on bail the same day. When he reported to the police as required on December 29, they locked him in a metal cage for several hours at the Jizhou District Police Department. The police attempted to detain him, but relented due to his extremely high blood pressure. They later submitted his case to the Jizhou District Procuratorate on January 1, 2026, seeking an arrest warrant for him.
Mr. Zhang, Ms. Zhang Jiamin, Ms. Wang, and Ms. Zhang Shufeng were detained in the Jizhou District Detention Center. They were released on bail on January 9, 2026.
Ms. Zhang Huifang was taken to Nankai District Detention Center. Her current situation isn’t clear.
Ms. Zou Yingchun and Ms. Nie Xiaomei were arrested by Daliuhang Police Station officers on December 29, 2025. Their homes were ransacked. They were taken to the Yantai City Detention Center that evening. Both families have hired lawyers to represent them.
Ms. Zhang Jun was arrested by Beidawangzhuang Police Station officers on January 7, 2026. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in Weifang City Detention Center.
Ms. Fang Caixia was tried on January 8, 2026, in the Ganjingzi District Court. The abuses she endured in Yaojia Detention Center left her exhausted, weak, and emaciated. She lacked the strength to speak.
Ms. Fang’s son was arrested by Xinzhaizi Police Station officers as he left the courthouse after the hearing. He was taken to the police station and interrogated. He was released that evening.
Meng Fanli, Yu Huijuan, Wang Fengxia, Zhou Liying, and Yao Jun, have been harassed by Liaohe Police Station officers since October 2025. If the police cannot find the practitioners, they call their families instead.
Ms. Jing Shuqin was harassed at home by Hushitai Police Station officers on January 6, 2026. They videotaped her and insisted on collecting a sample of her blood, threatening to arrest her if she didn’t cooperate.
Ms. Sun Zhongli was arrested by two plainclothes officers at the entrance of a residential community in early January 2026.
Ms. Yang Xiuying was arrested by Xiangyang Road Police Station officers in early January 2026 after being recorded by surveillance camera posting Falun Gong informational stickers. She is being held in the Nankai District Detention Center.
Ms. Liu Weiru has been released after serving a prison term of two years and eight months.
Ms. Guo Xiuqing was harassed at home on December 29, 2025, by an officer from Nancheng Police Station. He took pictures of her with his cell phone.
