(Minghui.org) Many people in China have received blessings from Falun Dafa because they showed kindness and support for the practice. The following are a few of their stories.
Huludao is a coastal city in southwestern Liaoning province. It has a tourist area called Longwan Beach, with 3 kilometers of white sand shoreline, where something miraculous occurred.
One day in the summer of 2009, Liu Chao (alias), about 40 at the time, went to Longwan with his wife to wade in the water.
Liu Chao didn’t know how to swim, but he didn’t wear a flotation device, thinking that the water wouldn’t be very deep, since he saw quite a few people swimming or floating comfortably in swimming rings.
He was shocked when, after only a few steps into the water, the bottom dropped off and he found himself submerged. He struggled to keep his head above the water. However, as soon as he managed to shout for help, he sank to the bottom again before he could grab a swimming ring someone threw to him.
He thought: “I’m doomed.” Just then, he felt a big hand from nowhere scoop him up and place him on the shore.
People surrounded him, and his wife anxiously asked, “How do you feel? Are you okay?” Liu Chao spat out a mouthful of seawater and waved the question away, indicating that he was fine.
“Who saved you?” his wife asked. “Who was it that saved your life?” People looked at each other, but no one answered. More people came over to see what had happened.
Just then, Liu Chao asked loudly, “Who lifted me up?” Again, people looked at one another, but no one spoke.
“Could it have been a divine being who saved me?” Liu Chao murmured to himself. “The hand was big and strong, and I was lifted up by a single hand.”
Everyone thought it was truly miraculous. When Liu Chao got home, he told his mom, a Falun Gong practitioner, what happened.
She said, “It must have been Master Li who saved you. He has explained that when one practices Dafa, the whole family benefits.” She then told her son, “You did something virtuous by giving over 20 car pendants with the words ‘Falun Dafa is good’ to your colleagues. Our Master is taking care of you, too, and he saved your life.”
They were in the process of moving to a new building at the time. Liu Chao said to his mom, “I would like to give you 1,000 yuan to buy a Buddha shrine to place Master Li Hongzhi’s portrait in it.”
“A fellow practitioner recently bought one for 600 yuan,” his mom said.
“In that case, let’s use the extra 400 yuan to make materials that inform people about Dafa and the persecution,” Liu Chao said.
From November 2015 to June 2016, more than 200,000 Falun Gong practitioners filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin using their real names. Liu Chao was one of them.
I have an aunt who will be 79 this year. She has been dealing with kidney problems for four years. Initially, she sought treatment at a specialty hospital in Beijing. She went there once a month and returned with a lot of medication each time. Still, she saw little improvement.
This spring, she began to develop ascites, and her whole body swelled, making her skin look tight and shiny. She became very careful about how much food and liquids she took in. When I visited her, she told me about the kidney disease.
She went for dialysis once a week, then every other day, and was eventually hospitalized.
After she was discharged and returned home, doctors said she would not live to see the Mid-Autumn Festival, which was on August 14.
I went to see her and said, “Auntie, you can recite Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good. Falun Dafa is a practice of the Buddha school that is very powerful and has miraculous healing effects. It would help if you recited the two phrases with sincerity.”
Five or six days later, my aunt’s eldest son’s wife said that my aunt wanted to see me, so I went to her place again.
“Auntie, you know that everyone dies sooner or later. If one believes in the Buddha Fa (Falun Dafa), he or she will be received by gods; otherwise, they will be taken away by various ghosts,” I said.
“Yes, I believe that too. I kept reciting ‘Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’ when I couldn’t sleep at night, and I’m already better. Look, the swelling in my body is gone. I ate a tin of congee [rice porridge] this morning and a flatbread stuffed with meat. I also drank half a bowl of water,” my aunt said enthusiastically.
Her daughter-in-law lifted my aunt’s blouse and said, “Look, the fluid is gone, and her belly is flat. Look at her arm. I put some iodine on a blister that was there, and it oozed fluid, flattened, and then healed. My mother-in-law no longer worries about what she eats. She eats whenever she feels hungry and drinks whenever she feels thirsty, even at night. She can use the toilet by herself and sleeps well without medication.”
I was really happy for my aunt and said to her, “Auntie, just keep reciting ‘Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ and you will recover even more quickly.”
I also thanked her daughter-in-law for taking such good care of my aunt, and encouraged her to quit whatever CCP organizations she belong to. “You can also recite ‘Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ and by doing so you will be blessed too. You’d better quit the Young Pioneers that you joined when you were young. How about using “Jian-ping” (meaning healthy and safe) as an alias?”
In the past, whenever I tried to persuade her to quit the CCP, she refused. This time, she smiled and agreed.
Li Lin served as the Party Secretary of our village for over 20 years. He has a positive attitude towards Falun Dafa.
In the early days after the CCP started persecuting the practice, some local practitioners worked together to post messages on utility poles. When the local police and the township head came, they asked Li Lin who had put up the messages.
“No one in my village did that,” he said. “What’s wrong with Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance?”
“Which side are you on?” they asked Li Lin.
“I’m not on anyone’s side. Is there anything wrong with these three words—Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance?” he asked again.
Speechless, the police officers and the township head left.
Once, when a few Dafa practitioners in the village were about to distribute truth-clarification materials, Li Lin walked into the house. He looked around and said to an older practitioner, “You stay here. Let them (the younger ones) do it.”
Each year, on World Falun Dafa Day (May 13), practitioners in the village hang up large, beautiful lotus flowers inscribed with “Falun Dafa Is Good,” “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Is Good.” Li Lin never told anyone to take them down.
During the surge of people quitting the CCP organizations, local practitioners further clarified the truth to Li Lin, and he quit his CCP membership.
He was the village party secretary for over 20 years, with support from practically every villager. In other villages, people would pay bribes to get elected, but Li Lin never did anything like that.
He retired from the position three years ago, is now 77, and enjoys very good health. Dafa practitioners told him he was blessed because he supported Dafa over the years.
