Mr. Xu Haifeng, 80, distributed Falun Gong materials on December 15, 2025, and placed a printout in the car of a county government official. The official reported Mr. Xu to the police. Mr. Xu was taken to Jixian County Detention Center later that day.
Mr. Liu Zhen was arrested in mid-December 2025.
Mr. Zhang Dongsheng and his wife Ms. Liu Jinying were both former civil servants who suffered severe persecution for over twenty years. Mr. Zhang was sentenced to a heavy prison term of fifteen years, and Ms. Liu was sentenced to five years. Now that they have reached retirement age, they have not only been deprived of their pensions, but also have faced frequent police harassment since 2025. The latest harassment was at 8:30 p.m. on December 27, 2025, by three Laishui Town officers.
Ms. Li Xue’e and Ms. Sun Mingqiu were arrested on December 25, 2025. Both were released later that day.
Ms. Yang Xueqin and Ms. Qi Hongmei went to a village in Changyi City, which is under the jurisdiction of Weifang, to distribute desktop calendars containing Falun Gong content in November 2025. The village Party secretary reported them to the police after receiving a copy of the calendars from them. The police arrested the women soon after and took them to the local police station. Their families were forced to pay a 1,500-yuan bail bond before they were released.
On December 19, 2025, at around 5 a.m., Changyi City Domestic Security Division officers unlocked Ms. Yang’s door with a master key and searched her home while she was away. It is unclear what items were confiscated.
Between 7 and 8 a.m. that morning, the officers also searched Ms. Qi’s home. They confiscated her Falun Gong books, cash, and other personal belongings. She was taken to the police station afterwards.
Ms. Yang Mingxiang’s husband received a phone call from the Chengdong Police Station at around 9:00 a.m. on December 25, 2025. The caller ordered Ms. Yang to go to the station. When she arrived, an officer reprimanded her. Then, two officers took her to a room and tried to push her into a metal chair. She resisted, and they forced her into it. They then began to interrogate her, asking where she had obtained the confiscated Falun Gong materials found in her home. She refused to answer any of their questions.
At around 5 p.m., the officers demanded that Ms. Yang have her picture taken, have her blood drawn, have her fingerprints collected, and have her weight and height measured. When she refused to cooperate, they did so against her will. Then, they took her to another room and ordered her to sign a stack of documents. She refused to sign anything. Finally, an officer ordered her to punch a time card every day and report in person to the police station at the train station on the 20th of each month. She was then released, with her husband listed as her guarantor.
The police called Ms. Yang the next day, December 26, ordering her to punch the time card. When Ms. Yang refused, the police began harassing her family members.
